In this episode of The Open Door, Thomas Storck and Christopher Zehnder interview Vicente Hargous, attorney, Professor of Constitutional Law in the Universidad Finis Terrae, Santiago, Chile, and editor of the online review, Suroeste. https://revistasuroeste.cl/1. On your website you write regarding Hispanic America that, "It is not difficult to find our land on maps, where we are, but to understand what we are and what we are called to be in the history of the world is not so easy."In a 2002 article, two Chilean professors, a philosopher and an anthropologist, set forth four possible cultural self-identities which have been advanced by Latin Americans: the indigenist, the hispanic, an identification with the Western world in general and the thesis of "mestizage cultural" or a fusion of indigenist with Spanish or Western identities. Could you comment on any of these points?2. You also speak on your website of the various ideas and trends which are affecting the entire world, but especially the West. You mention among others environmentalism, feminism, indigenism, esoteric currents.Given that both Europe and North America are affected by these ideas, do they affect Latin America in any particular ways?3. In North America we read much about the inroads of Protestantism in South and Central America and Mexico. Is this another example of North American cultural imperialism or does it speak to any weaknesses of the Catholic Church, either historical or contemporary? Does the Catholic Church play a role today in setting the cultural agenda in Hispanic America?4. How has Hispanic American culture changed in the last 50 years? Culturally speaking, can it defend itself against trends originating in North America or Europe?5. Your review, Suroeste, is connected with the organization Comunidad y Justicia, which works to promote human rights in Chile. What is the connection between the review and the organization? How does your Catholic commitment inspire both? https://comunidadyjusticia.cl/6. As a continent originally nearly entirely Catholic, is there any realistic hope of restoring the Church's cultural and religious role?7. How does the overwhelming influence, political and economic, of the United States affect the cultural situation of Latin America?

(AURN News) — New data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals shifting patterns in sexually transmitted disease rates across the United States, with syphilis cases rising while other infections decline. The CDC's 2023 data shows an increase in syphilis cases compared to 2022, even as chlamydia and gonorrhea cases have decreased nationwide. Looking at state-by-state numbers, California led the nation in syphilis cases with 32,480 infections, followed by Texas (27,085), Florida (18,799), and New York (12,393). The data indicates that white Americans recorded the highest syphilis rates among all racial groups, with Black Americans representing the second-highest number of cases. For gonorrhea, California again topped the list with 74,103 cases, while Texas reported 53,793 cases. Florida (46,726), New York (46,102), and Georgia (30,307) rounded out the states with the highest case counts. The racial breakdown for gonorrhea shows Black Americans experiencing the highest burden with 236,011 cases, compared to 131,170 cases among white Americans and 83,535 among Hispanic Americans. President-elect Donald Trump won 46% of the Hispanic vote in the 2024 presidential election, a record for any Republican presidential candidate in recent history, according to Reuters. Trump did not have success with Hispanic voters because of “anything conservatives did,” but rather “things that the Left has done,” according to Mike Gonzalez, author of “A Race for the Future: How Conservatives Can Break the Liberal Monopoly on Hispanic Americans.” The “Left has actually done 95% of it of the work” of driving Hispanics to the Republican Party “by going crazy, completely crazy over woke issues that are completely rejected by Hispanics,” he said. Gonzalez, who serves as a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the central issues that drove Hispanic voters across the aisle to Trump.
In this episode, I discuss a potential rift between black Americans and Hispanic Americans over the issue of Donald Trump.

Darrell Castle talks about the results of the presidential election. What does Trump's victory over Kamala Harris and the entire woke agenda mean or at least what does it mean to me? Transcription / Notes DOOMSDAY AVERTED—FOR NOW Hello, this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report. This is Friday the 8th day of November in the year of our Lord 2024. I will be talking about the most obvious topic in the world today and that is the presidential election. What does the overwhelming Trump victory over Kamala Harris and the entire woke agenda mean or at least what does it mean to me. Doomsday averted—for now, what does that mean. It means that certain burdens the nation had been bearing for many years can now perhaps be lifted. There is at least hope they can be lifted. This election was about those burdens and the American people just do not want them anymore. Completely open borders with nations such as El Salvador, Venezuela, and Mexico emptying their prisons and insane asylums onto our border. Murderers and rapists invited into the country to prey on Americans with no accountability for their crimes. Little boys and little girls sexually mutilated because of the parents' mental illness or their school's mental illness. Despite decades of legal effort to ensure girls have equal opportunity for school sports, they were totally disregarded while men who said they were women were invited into their locker rooms. Costly wars that threaten our future with no benefit to the American people at all. Crime rampant and out of control in our once beautiful cities. Businesses closing because in many places shoplifting and car theft are no longer even crimes. I could go on but those are at least some of the things that a large majority of voters rejected, but many on the left wail and ask why don't the people want these things as we do. The headlines in the New York Post on Wednesday read like this, HE'S DON IT AGAIN. Yes he's done it again this man Donald Trump has completed a historic comeback despite very long odds. His determination, perseverance in the face of such hatred, his strength is rare for anyone especially rare for a 78-year-old man. Viciously attacked from day one of his first term, I suppose because the woke army would not surrender easily. Two attempts to impeach him were political assassination attempts, then two literal assassination attempts, lawfare attacks from corrupt prosecutors, and an extremely corrupt Department of Justice aided by a corrupt FBI. Despite all those persecutions the American people seemed to see through them and stuck with him. He was facing a long string of legal actions once he decided and announced that he would run again. His enemies mobilized the corrupt, state-owned media and the various government agencies, including the Department of Justice and the FBI in an effort to stop him, but nothing stopped him. His coalition included the reliable Republican base of white men and protestant Christians, but he made significant inroads into traditionally Democrat strongholds as well. Harris could not rely, as democrats always do, on the base of Black men and Hispanics as Trump made strong inroads into both. His efforts among Black Americans and Hispanic Americans apparently made the difference in many cities and states. His remarks in his victory address were words of inclusion and healing. “This was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again.” He added, “we are going to help our country heal. “I hope and pray that he is correct and the nation can heal and I hope it can somehow get off the road to war, inflation, bankruptcy and insanity. Do Americans really want to continue the same path down the same direction that leads to more and more war. No, thank God, it appears they do not. I have my doubts however, because democracy,

The first report explores Americans' perceptions of the "American Dream," finding that a majority believe it remains attainable, although younger generations are more skeptical than their older counterparts. This report also finds that income and age play a significant role in these perceptions. The second report provides a comprehensive analysis of the American middle class since 1970, demonstrating a decline in the share of Americans considered middle income and a widening income gap between those in the middle and upper income tiers. The report also examines the demographic characteristics of the middle class, finding that certain groups, such as immigrants, Black and Hispanic Americans, and those with less education, are disproportionately represented in lower income tiers.
Recent polling suggests that some traditionally Democrat-leaning voters, particularly black and Hispanic men, appear to be reconsidering their political allegiances. Their concerns about the high cost of living and rising crime have them trending toward former President Donald Trump, which could make them the deciding factor in the 2024 presidential election. Gabriel Nadales, national director of Our America, spoke with The Daily Signal about these surprising developments—and shared first-hand accounts of why voters are switching sides. Watch our full interview in the video above. “It's kind of insane that there are so many Hispanic Americans out there who are very much voting for Trump,” Nadales said. “They see that, unfortunately, the Democrat Party no longer represents them.” Nadales' organization, Our America, is active in the key battleground states of Arizona and Georgia, attempting to unite Americans at a time when it seems we're hopelessly divided. Our America has organized local events with the goal of inspiring Americans to be active citizens in their local communities. “If you want to affect policy at the national level,” Nadales explained, “you have to get people engaged at the local level with things that they actually can directly affect to show them that they can make a difference in long term.” The group's core issues are promoting safer communities, lowering the cost of living, defending freedom of speech, and ensuring fair elections. Hispanic Americans are perhaps the most significant ethnic minority in the United States. Depending on data, you can safely estimate they make up nearly 20% of the population. That means almost one in five Americans is Hispanic, and according to the Census Bureau, that number is expected to grow exponentially to a projected 111 million by 2060, representing roughly 28% of the population. As acculturation increases, these consumers will grow up exposed to our brands. There will be even greater demand for products and services from this fast-growing market. In the lead-up to every election cycle, pundits predict that Latino Americans will overwhelmingly vote in favor of the Democratic candidate. And it's true—Latino voters do tilt Democratic. Hillary Clinton won the Latino vote in a “landslide,” Barack Obama “crushed” Mitt Romney among Latino voters in his reelection, and, four years earlier, the Democratic ticket beat the McCain-Palin ticket by a margin of more than two to one. But those numbers belie a more complicated picture. Because of decades of investment and political courtship, as well as a nuanced and varied cultural identity, the Republican party has had a much longer and stronger bond with Hispanics. How is this possible for a party so associated with draconian immigration and racial policies? In The Hispanic Republican: The Shaping of an American Political Identity, from Nixon to Trump (Ecco, 2020), historian and political commentator Geraldo Cadava illuminates the history of the millions of Hispanic Republicans who, since the 1960s, have had a significant impact on national politics. Intertwining the little understood history of Hispanic Americans with a cultural study of how post–World War II Republican politicians actively courted the Hispanic vote during the Cold War (especially Cuban émigrés) and during periods of major strife in Central America (especially during Iran-Contra), Cadava offers insight into the complicated dynamic between Latino liberalism and conservatism, which, when studied together, shine a crucial light on a rapidly changing demographic that will impact American elections for years to come. At a recent event held last Thursday, the forefront runner for the GOP, Donald Trump, journeyed to Phoenix, Arizona. He took to the stage to rally his supporters, an enthusiastic crowd so vast that it filled 'Chase The Vote', an event set up by Turning Point USA. Trump, known for his charisma and knack of connecting with individuals, drew thousands to cheer for him. The core of his speech maintained a stark focus on the concerning state of our borders under the Biden administration. Trump unapologetically laid out his accusation that Biden's radical approach to open borders is nothing less than an assault on the economy, impacting most significantly the lives of those Americans who placed their faith in the democratic process. Driving his point home, Trump artfully unveiled the fact that the so-called 'Biden Border Invasion' is directly hitting the working-class communities in America, predominantly affecting ethnic minority groups. 'Economic warfare is being waged against African American and Hispanic American families and their unions under the guise of progressive immigration policies,' he proclaimed, in a tone that resonated with the concern of many in our country. He went on to illustrate his point further, addressing how immigrant populations are unintentionally intruding upon job opportunities for African Americans and the Hispanic community. 'These new arrivals are impacting employment opportunities of our own citizens. This is causing significant devastation, with unions bearing the brunt,' he asserted.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On this episode, host Amanda Head dives into former President Donald Trump's ‘hush money' trial and the weaponization of our justice system with Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz. Dershowitz tells Head, “if there's a conviction here, it will change the justice system forevermore.” The best-selling author goes on to say, “it will weaponize the [justice] system. It will mean that both sides will try to use the legal system as a way of winning elections.” Dershowitz, who was in the New York courtroom, went on to say that, “if there is an acquittal, maybe at least we can say the jury system works. But if there's a conviction or even a hung jury, it will show the prosecution benefits from bringing a case, which is no crime at all.” The legal scholar also slams Judge Juan Merchan, who is currently overseeing the Trump case in New York. Dershowitz says that he is not ‘unbiased' and that he also ‘wants a conviction' of the former president. The second guest on this episode of the podcast is Abe Hamadeh, Arizona's 2022 Republican Nominee for Attorney General, and currently a republican candidate for Arizona's 8th Congressional District. Hamadeh told Head that the Democrats want illegal immigrants to vote in elections so they can get more voters. He said, “The Democrats, they know that they've lost the American people.” He goes on to say, “they're losing black Americans and Hispanic Americans. So what they're trying to do is get a new voter bloc on their side.” These bold statements come at a time when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) held a press conference earlier this month where they discussed the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act” which would require proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections. Hamadeh said that he has noticed some pushback from state legislatures on illegal immigrants being able to vote and some of them have been ‘punching back more effectively' than he's ever seen.If you liked this episode of the podcast and are looking forward to hearing the next episode, be sure to hit the “Follow” button on your preferred streaming service. Megyn Kelly is joined by legal experts Andy McCarthy and Phil Holloway to discuss the judge in Trump's NYC trial withholding jury instructions from the public, jurors being exposed to outside influence during the Memorial Day weekend while they're not sequestered, the political pressure on the jurors and the judge to get a conviction, the way the prosecution is spinning the case and influencing the public and jury, how the prosecution still has not revealed the actual crime in the case, if the Trump defense should have rested after they established Michael Cohen was a liar on the stand, Nathan Wade continuing to lie about what really happened with Fani Willis, his ex-wife's legal team giving an exclusive statement about Wade's lies, Joy Reid's embarrassing interview with Wade, and more. Then Jesse Kelly, host of TheFirstTV's "I'm Right," joins to discuss the massive turnout at the Trump rally in Bronx, whether events like this will actually affect the 2024 results, Democrats opening the border and focusing on illegal immigrants over black and Hispanic Americans, Walmart unveiling its Pride Month merchandise, major corporations favoring profits over customers, NBC's new "Queer Planet" doc about LGBT animals, Sen. Donald Trump's rally in the Bronx proves a lot of things to those of us living in Realville: Americans of all colors and backgrounds and belief systems are proud to live in the USA. Listen to the voices of Black Americans and Hispanic Americans and hear the sound of UNITY. The Biden campaign's response to Trump's rock star welcome to the Bronx is to run a smear ad against him, alleging he is racist. And Governor Kathy Hochul calls New Yorkers who support Trump CLOWNS. We'll hear how that goes over...
A lot's changed since 1987: Biopics are much more common (and darker). Chicano artists are more mainstream, and Lou Diamond Phillips is a household name. So we acknowledge "La Bamba' was groundbreaking ... and not very good. Listener Mark C. commissioned this episode and the upcoming "American Me" to celebrate his heritage as a first-generation Hispanic-American. He noted the blockbuster soundtrack, janky lip-syncing and performances from Esai Morales, Joe Pantaliano and Elizabeth Pena. But Mark didn't prepare us for laughably large talismans, breakneck pacing and Ritchie Valens' "golly-gee" persona. In this episode, the Shat Crew debates whether Ritchie's brother, Bob, got a fair shake in the movie, what really happened that night in Tijuana and how much racism is appropriate for this story. Gene spots a Mystical Mexican. Ash yearns for some Buddy Holly, and Dick wants more details about the plane crash and aftermath. Wright kicks off with an alarming update on America's soaring inflation rates, highlighting the unexpected surge in the consumer price index and its cascading effects on the stock market and federal interest rate policies. He delves into the sectors hit hardest by inflation, such as elder care and auto insurance, critiquing the administration's response and its broader economic implications. The episode then shifts focus to the complex issue of illegal migration, spotlighting two distinct phenomena: the involvement of Chinese illegals in a sophisticated gift card scam and the growing discontent among Hispanic Americans over the handling of the migration crisis. Wright provides an in-depth analysis of these challenges, underscoring the political and social ramifications. The narrative takes a sharp turn to discuss the controversial debate over the federal government's surveillance capabilities, particularly the rejection of a bill aimed at extending warrantless spying on Americans. Wright provides historical context, recent misuse cases, and bipartisan opposition to the bill, fostering a discussion on privacy, trust, and the balance between security and liberty. Furthermore, Wright addresses the evolving landscape of modern warfare and espionage, emphasizing the strategic importance of drone technology. He presents a detailed examination of Iran and China's advancements in drone capabilities, contrasting them with the perceived stagnation in American drone technology and strategy. The episode concludes with a thought-provoking discussion on the unintended consequences of debt forgiveness programs, using medical debt forgiveness as a case study to question similar initiatives in other sectors, such as student loans. Through rigorous analysis, expert insights, and a keen eye on both domestic and international events, "Rising Tides: Navigating Through Inflation, Surveillance, and the Global Drone Race" offers listeners a comprehensive understanding of today's most pressing issues, urging them to reflect on the path forward for America and the global community.

The U.S. is quickly becoming a Hispanic nation, yet there exists very little in the way of pro-freedom Spanish news and messaging available to this increasingly influential population. Enriquez, son of a Mexican immigrant, aims to take leadership as the trusted voice to his community on what it means to be an American. Roger Stone says the never-Trump wing of the Republican Party which exists at the leadership level of the party is really flogging the candidacy of Nikki Haley. She has taken in $70 million dollars in special interest money over the past couple of weeks. Stone says no one has ever won the Iowa Caucus by more than 20 points and Trump could win by as many as 30 yet the headline in the news will be “Haley upsets DeSantis.” Stone thinks Trump will win both Iowa and New Hampshire then roll through South Carolina. If Trump defeats Haley in her home state, Stone says it's the end of the line for her campaign. Stone says it's not just that Trump's polling continues to grow, it's the level of intensity of his support. His voters are rock solid. They're not changing their vote. They're definitely voting for trump. Stone says Trump is making inroads with traditionally Democratic voter groups: African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans and younger voters which puts New York, New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico and Minnesota within Trump's grasp. In the end, Stone believes the election will come down to a handful of counties in the 5 swing states of Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Michigan. The unanimous House GOP endorsement of President Trump shows a recognition that this is no longer the country club party of the Bushes. It's now the America First Party of the working class exemplified by Donald Trump. He is the only candidate who can bring Republicans a victory. Did you miss any of The Rich Zeoli Show this week? It's ok. We forgive you! But now is your chance to catch-up on all the action: Disney has announced a new director for its Star Wars franchise—Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Obaid-Chinoy has won two Academy Awards for short-films examining injustice in Pakistan, but does that make her the ideal selection for a sci-fi franchise? Obaid-Chinoy said that her goal as a filmmaker has been to “make men uncomfortable,” but aren't most Star Wars fans just looking for an enjoyable two-hour movie? Wadi Gaitan—Communications Director for the LIBRE Initiative—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to react to a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll indicates that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump currently has greater support within the Hispanic American community than does President Joe Biden—39% to 34%. In 2020, Biden won that demographic by 33%—65% to 32%. In a recently surfaced video, former Director of the National Institutes of Health Dr. Francis Collins conceded that the federal government made mistakes with its public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He explains, “if you're a public health person…you attach zero value to whether this actually totally disrupts people's lives, ruins the economy.” In November of 2021, Dr. Collins, who is now serving as an advisor to President Joe Biden, infamously performed “Somewhere Past the Pandemic”—an original song to the tune of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Rich, Matt, and Henry will find any excuse to play it. Matt Walsh of The Daily Wire writes: “The CIA has a term called “limited hangout.” This is a tactic where some small portion of the truth is made public while the most important details—the stuff that really matters—is kept hidden. Intelligence agencies do this in hopes that the stuff they release will satisfy everyone's curiosity and they'll stop asking questions. These Epstein files appear to be exactly that. This is a limited hangout. A diversion meant to satisfy you without actually telling you what you need to know. They want you to stop asking questions. Don't fall for it.” You can read the full article here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-epstein-files-are-released-but-the-cover-up-continues Jennifer Stefano—Executive Vice President of the Commonwealth Foundation & Columnist at the Philadelphia Inquirer—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the three things Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker must do immediately. On Tuesday, Parker was sworn in as the 100th Mayor of Philadelphia. On her first day, she signed an executive order declaring a public safety emergency—calling for the development of a strategy that will reduce the unmitigated violence and open drug use currently plaguing the city. But can Mayor Parker's plan be effective while Larry Krasner remains the city's District Attorney?
