PODCAST #21We Are the Miracle Workers. Part 2 Sound Healing with Sharon HolleranThe miracle of Sound Healing! How Sharon healed her crippling back pain through the vibration of crystal singing bowls. In 2012, unable to walk, she was brought to an old church in Pasadena, CA called the “Church of Truth.” * What happened to Sharon was a miracle and yet she had complete trust in the hope and possibility that it would work. The sound of the bowls triggered that memory of self-healing and halfway through the sound bath, she felt “all this crackling of energy and blood flowing down my legs.” After about six months of using this healing power of sound, Sharon was completely healed. She could go hiking again and do anything she wanted to do. We can do that now. We must do that now. For this is the only real, natural, free energy left to us to practice. Throughout this podcast, Sharon also shares some remarkable experiences on her healing journey, her encounters with other off-world realities and her own blood type which makes up only one percent of the human population. Is she a “real human?” Yes! Has she suffered and gone through much pain? Oh yes. But, her laughter and song override the discord and disharmony of negativity and untruths because she has learned how. She practices with her sound healing bowls and loves to energize and share her healing gifts with others. Recently, Sharon and I were talking about our family backgrounds and discovered that we both came from loud, creative, and expressive family dynamics where we could explore our talents and needs and freely protest if we wanted to! And not only that, but our very spirited fathers shared the same nickname which was, “Happy Jack!” What are the odds of that? We also understand what is at stake here and that we are in danger of losing our very voices and soul power, our memories of self-healing through divine intervention. Ask for it. Keep asking and believing. Charge up your brain power, your heart & soul power and make a joyful noise. *From The Church of Truth, Pasadena, CA.Our Center for Awakening Consciousness teaches that there is a power within us greater than anything that happens to us, and that by understanding and applying the principles of this power we can establish ourselves in health, harmony and abundance. Our founder, Dr. Albert Grier said: "Truth ... goes to the one source of authority - the soul of man - where God has put power and says: Trust thyself." Our belief is "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." Dr. Grier's vision was to "found a church from which man, no matter how far he advances, no matter what vision shall be granted him, will never have to depart in order to follow his highest, to answer the call of his soul. "Through meditation, contemplation and conscious living we open ourselves to the direct and personal experience of God. Statement of Being "I am Spirit, I think, see, feel and live as Spirit in the presence of God, and through the power of God in me am able to manifest the perfection of Spirit in mind and body."

Some millennials DO NOT have what it takes to endure the roller coaster of entrepreneurship. Most people rotate from job to job never fully committing or applying themselves. Longevity is a trait of the past and a big inhibitor on the success of young people today. Sharon Vinderine, founder of Parent Tested Parent Approved, joins the podcast this week to share some wisdom for young entrepreneurs. She EMBODIES the relentless nature to be able to endure the emotional highs and lows (mostly lows) of business. If you aren’t willing to put yourself through the ringer, the relentless world of entrepreneurship may not be for you. Sharon shows what it takes to build a business from scratch, and push through the realm of instant gratification that holds society back today. Sharon Maas celebrates the diversity of publishing today because she's been one the writers who has challenged the old formula. Her early 20th century Quint family series set in her homeland of Guyana and based on her own family story of a white woman marrying a black man was not seen as “commercial.' Hi, I'm your host Jenny Wheeler and today Sharon talks about how the decade of rejection she faced before she won through made her a better writer, and tells us about a magical day she spent with Muhammad Ali in Peru. Six things you'll learn from this Joys of Binge Reading episode: How Sharon got started in fictionHer extraordinary meeting Mudhammad AliWhy historical fiction gives her a thrillThe part meditation plays in her workOn re-writing a famous Indian mythHer advice for young writers: Follow your heart Where to find Sharon Maas: Website: https://www.sharonmaas.com/ Facebook: @sharonmaasauthor Twitter: @sharon_maas What follows is a "near as" transcript of our conversation, not word for word but pretty close to it, with links to important mentions. Jenny: But now, here's Sharon. Hello there Sharon and welcome to the show, it's great to have you with us. Sharon: Good morning Jenny. Good to be with you. Jenny: And I think you're speaking from Germany are you? Sharon: No, no. I moved to Ireland a year ago. I'm in Ireland now. Jenny: Oh sorry I am not up to date. Perhaps there maybe a bit out of date information on the web. I'm not sure. Sharon: Oh yes, Ireland's been a wonderful place to live. Jenny: Okay. that's lovely. How did you get started writing in fiction? Was there a 'Once Upon a Time' moment for you when you felt you needed to write fiction or you wouldn't have achieved your purpose in life, so to speak. What got her started writing Sharon Maas Historic fiction author Sharon: [00:00:51] Well I've always been a voracious reader and I always had this idea that maybe I could write something one day, but I just thought it just too much. I just can't do it. You know it's too hard to figure out a plan and I can't do it. I didn't feel up to it. I was writing when I was about eight or nine. I used to write children's stories about children with horses and dogs and having adventures. Enid Blyton was my favorite writer as a child. So I had this idea at the back of my mind but I just didn't feel have the confidence to get into it and to actually start. And so I was late in my late forties when I began thinking 'Oh maybe I could do it. Maybe I can write something myself.' I've read a book called Becoming a Writer by Dorothea Brand. And she says the stories you want to tell are in us already. Deep down. They're made by the subconscious mind and we can access them if we make the effort. And that was like a 'light bulb' moment for me, because you know I meditate and I knew that there is something inside me which I can access. So that really kind of lifted me up and got me fired up. So I started when I was about 48. Plotter or Pantser? Jenny: And how did you choose what you were going to write. And I gather that you are more of a 'fly by the seat of your pants' writer? Sharon: Oh absolutely. Jenny: Did you approach it in that way with your first book, or how did you start off? Sharon: I knew I wanted to write a book set in Guyana, which is the country I grew up in. It used to be British Guyana and I really knew I had to write a story set there because when I was growing up there was nothing published about our own culture. All of the books I read as a child about England and English people. English children and strawberries and cream and all those very English things. Daisies and tulips and things we don't have in Guyana. So I wanted to have a really authentic Guyanese setting with Guyanese people who are Indian and African, you know, very very diverse. Sharon is the Founder and CEO of Bonafide Provisions, makers of the number one selling frozen bone broth in America. ( http://bonafideprovisions.com/ ) We will learn all about the amazing amino acids present in bone broth that support gut health, deliver a collagen boost for healthy skin and nails, and help rebuild broken down connective tissue. Sharon will detail how to make bone broth at home in the correct manner, how to discern what is quality and what is crap at the store, and how bone broth helped her child go from sickly and ADHD-diagnosed to a life of robust health. Prior to starting Bonafide Provisions, Sharon was a certified nutritionist specializing in a whole foods approach to health. She describes mechanisms in the digestive process whereby the presence of an agent on our tongue sets off an efficient chain-reaction of nutrient assimilation. She asserts that the best way to obtain the nutritional benefits of any agent (vitamin C, etc.) is through real food. In her practice, Sharon implemented the cutting-edge GAPS protocol to patients with great success, most notably with her own son. GAPS stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome and emphasizes the importance of the gut-brain connection in holistic healing. The gut and brain communicate via the enteric nervous system. Interestingly, in fetuses, the gut and brain originate from the same matter before they split off and progress into a fully formed brain and intestinal tract at birth. GAPS has been shown to be highly effective in addressing assorted mental health conditions that are typically addressed with medication, including depression, anxiety, ADHD and conditions associated with the autism spectrum. The rationale here acknowledges that dopamine and serotonin are largely produced in the intestinal tract, not the brain! What’s more, stress often manifests in the gut, such as the butterflies associated with nervousness. When you suffer from the common malady of leaky gut syndrome, it has a profound adverse impact on your mental health. This is the absolute cutting edge of medicine today, and Sharon weaves the story into the discussion around bone broth because bone broth helps heal leaky gut! Some key beneficial agents: * Glycine: helps with protein digestion and fat absorption * Glutamine: a potent amino acid that gut cells use to produce beneficial mucus for a strong gut lining. Bone broth battles leaky gut! * Proline: An essential component of collagen to promote cell repair, healthy skin and joints. Bone broth is the best source of collagen — straight from the animal’s joints! * Glycosaminoglycans: Often touted by Dr. Cate Shanahan, when you ingest these agents, they head to the areas of your body where they are needed most, where you have weakened or insufficient joints and connective tissue. Interesting historical tidbit: Bone broth was a staple of the human diet in recent generations, but the massive cultural shift to processed food that occurred around 1950 led us to disgracefully neglect bone broth. After life returned to normal after World War II, marketing forces pushed women out of the kitchen, enticing families with the convenience of TV dinners and later the explosion of fast food restaurants across America, as detailed in the iconic book, Fast Food Nation, written by Eric Schlosser. Dr. Cate Shanahan specifies the year 1950 as a cutoff for being reared with a decent diet prior, or a shit diet after that. Indeed, elderly folks today can harken back to their younger days when meals were home-cooked and prepared from scratch, and sweets, treats, and sodas were celebratory indulgences instead of dietary centerpieces they are today. How to make your own bone broth *:* Find joints or knuckles—the more joint material, the better! Chicken feet are particularly rich in collagen. Make sure you get organic/grass-fed/pasture-raised bones for the same reason we want naturally raised meat. Bone broth is keto friendly being high protein, moderate fat and low or no carb. If you add other ingredients such as veggies or sauces, you will alter the macros obviously Cook animal bones 18-48 hours on low heat. Sharon says the Instant Pot shortcut is not a great idea here, so use your Instant Pot low heat function or a Crock-Pot or best yet a giant saucepan. Ideally, you want a 10-to-1 ratio of water (make sure it’s filtered) to bones. Use a few tablespoons of a chelating agent like apple cider vinegar, which will help extract nutrients from the bone matter. If your broth is gelatinous when it’s cooled, you have succeeded! How to shop for quality products: Commercial “broth” products are devoid of the quality nutrients and basically a watered-down version of the actual bone broth. You should actually call this stuff “stock,” fodder for a liquid base of soup. Read labels! Bones should be on the ingredient list. You should see a prolonged cooking time specified on label or on website, and certified organic designation as well. This entails organic products all the way through the factory. Bone broth is stored in the fridge or freezer and will last a week in the fridge. As detailed in Dr. Cate Shanahan’s book, Deep Nutrition , bone broth is one of the ultimate ancestral foods, and it has been widely neglected (or watered down in the case of “broth-like” consumer products.) It’s time to get on the bone broth bandwagon and make it a centerpiece of your diet. Enjoy the show and learn more about Sharon at bonafideprovisions.com.
