However, following his arrest in July 2023, Heuermann sold this 18-acre property to relatives for $1.In a separate development, Las Vegas authorities have been investigating potential connections between Heuermann and the 2003 murder of 17-year-old Victoria Camara. Camara's remains were discovered in the desert near Boulder City, Nevada. Then, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was added to a federal terror watchlist. We applaud the Chiefs players and coaching staff who helped people to safety and the law enforcement who sprung into action to prevent further tragedy. The guys discuss the tragic and all too familiar scene of shootings and how the value of someone's life has become to easy to sacrifice when people get into situations that this result becomes the answer is not ok. Understanding how a celebratory day now is tainted by loss and fear for innocent people around the world who have to ask and think is it safe to go out in public now? Ryan says how evil doesn't sleep and people will always allow their selfishness to prevail in times it shouldn't and Fred says how we take for granted waking up and returning home everyday as the world is a different place now.  Getting into the game and the defensive battle between the 49ers and Chiefs, Channing and Fred talk about the chess match but also push back on the lack of running plays in the first half when San Fran had control to do what they do best. Ryan looks at the big picture and reality of Patrick Mahomes etching his name in history as one of the greatest athletes ever to show up in big moments and perform under pressure. Putting him on the level of Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Alex Ovechkin, Floyd Mayweather...Mahomes is one of the rarities we've seen in our era of professional athletes. Before the big game was the big week, with parties, media, events and one of the Pivot's first live shows was 3 days before the game where the guys sat down with athletes, businessmen and entertainers for shows in front of an audience discussing current topics to sports moments. But in a split moment, all of that was gone and attention turned to creating great content to losing everything as the production crew was robbed of the equipment, footage, gear and once again reality crept in as the guys talk about how letting guard down for instance became a crime of opportunity for others. Ryan, Channing and Fred give praise to the Las Vegas Police Department and the detectives who worked tirelessly around the clock to bring the guy into custody and return some of the stolen items while also using the moment to discuss how relationships with law enforcement doesn't always have to be a negative experience. As football season comes to an end, Channing and Ryan reflect on season one of Inside The NFL while Ryan opens up on the bittersweet process of his ESPN contract being up and what's next for him whether he re-signs with the network or tests the waters on his own. Both Channing and Fred weigh in on the personal sacrifices they've watched him make to dedicate himself to his work and Ryan understands how much he's grown and is committed to continue to put the work in wherever that may be.  Learn more about your ad choices. Trump reiterates claim that Heartbeat laws are political losers, Finnish Christian parliamentarian found not guilty of hate speech, Help pay for legal defense of pro-life rescuers

It's Monday, January 15th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Finnish Christian parliamentarian found not guilty of hate speech In a win for religious freedom, the Helsinki Court of Appeal found Christian Member of Parliament Päivi Räsänen and Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola not guilty, reports Alliance Defending Freedom International. The two had been accused of inciting hate-speech after sharing their beliefs on biblical marriage between a man and a woman. Räsänen, who expressed her beliefs on social media, was facing charges under a section in the Finnish criminal code titled “War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity.” And Pohjola faced charges for publishing a booklet on biblical marriage, which Räsänen wrote almost 20 years ago. Paul Coleman, Executive Director of Alliance Defending Freedom International, was exuberant. COLEMAN: “This crucial ruling upholds the fundamental right to freedom of speech, making clear that free speech extends to opinions some people might disagree with.  This battle has been won, but the war against censorship around the world continues. “In a free society, everyone should be allowed to share their convictions, faith-based or otherwise, without fear of censorship. Criminalizing speech through so-called hate speech laws shuts down public debates and poses a grave threat to our democracies.” In John 16:33, Jesus said, “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Trump reiterates claim that Heartbeat laws are political losers Last Wednesday, when the remaining GOP presidential contenders were debating one another, former president Donald Trump appeared in a Town Hall meeting on Fox News with Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum. Mary Margaret Olohan, a senior reporter for The Daily Signal, asked about his recent statement indicating that a Heartbeat Bill is  “terrible,” reports LifeSiteNews.com. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, one of Trump's rivals for the GOP nomination, signed a Heartbeat Bill into law in April 2023 which protects babies in the womb whose heartbeats can be detected, typically at the sixth week of pregnancy. On NBC's September 17, 2023 edition of Meet the Press, Kristen Welker asked Trump about DeSantis' decision to sign the Florida Heartbeat bill into law. TRUMP: “DeSanctus was willing to sign a five-week and six-week ban.” WELKER: “Would you support that? You think he went too far?” TRUMP:  “I think what he did is a terrible thing and a terrible mistake!” With that background in mind, here is Mary Margaret Olohan's question from last Wednesday in Iowa. Listen. OLOHAN:  “For me, it all comes down to this question between you, sir, President Trump and Ron DeSantis because you both talk a lot about pro-life, your record. And that's my number one issue and the cry of my heart.” TRUMP: “Good.” OLOHAN: “… is justice for all people.  I've been, you know, vocal and celebrating with you all of your pro-life victories from the past. But then, in this campaign, you've also blamed pro-lifers for some of the GOP losses around the country, and you've called Heartbeat Laws, like Iowa's, terrible. And so I'd just like some clarity on this, because it's such an important question to me.” TRUMP: “Okay.” OLOHAN:  “I'd like for you to reassure me that you can protect all life, every person's right to life without compromise.” After recounting his success in appointing three Supreme Court Justices – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett – who helped to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, Trump said this. TRUMP: “I happen to be for the exceptions, like Ronald Reagan, with the life of the mother, rape, incest. … But I will say this, you have to win elections. Otherwise, you're going to be back where you were, and you can't let that ever happen again. You've got to win elections. “Ron DeSantis, his poll numbers have gone down to a level that he's going to be out of the race very soon. I don't know if that were the reason. I hope it wasn't the reason. I hope it's for other reasons. He's doing very, very poorly. It happened to coincide with that – [his signing the Florida Heartbeat bill into law].  Because a lot of people say a lot of you know, if you took five or six weeks, a lot of women don't know if they're pregnant in five or six weeks. I want to get something where people are happy.” Trump has indicated that he likes the idea of a national ban on abortions at 15 weeks, an idea that his former Vice President Mike Pence had proposed. Help pay for legal defense of pro-life rescuers And finally, as The Worldview reported on Friday, 10 faithful pro-life Christians are facing a federal trial, which begins tomorrow, for rescuing pre-born babies from certain death on March 5, 2021 at an abortion mill in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The trial, which could lead to astronomical fines and up to 11 years in federal prison, will be located at the Federal Court House, 801 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203. If you live in the area, please attend a prayer rally that begins at 7:30am outside the court house.  But, no matter where you live, please pray that justice would be done and the peaceful pro-lifers would not be penalized for participating in righteous civil disobedience. Three quick updates to that story. First, listen to the first-hand accounts of some of the pro-life rescuers at the website StifledCry.com. Second, Chet Gallagher, the organizer of the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee 2021 pro-life rescue has a powerful testimony. Back in January 1989, he was a Las Vegas, Nevada policeman. Not only did Gallagher refuse to arrest pro-life rescuers in Las Vegas, but he felt convicted in 1989 to join them, for which he himself was arrested while in uniform. Gallagher was subsequently fired from the Las Vegas Police Department for his pro-life stand. And third, The Personhood Alliance has set up a GiveSendGo donation page to help pay the legal expenses of Paul Vaughn, one of the 10 pro-life rescuers. Vaughn, age 55, is the father of 11 and the president of Personhood Tennessee. His oldest is 27 and his youngest is 18 months. Four of his children are married, and seven of them still live at his home. Vaughn told The Daily Signal, “It is not uncommon for pro-life people to have large families because the very concept of having children is something that we believe is a gift from God and something to be valued and sought after.” Appearing on Fox News, Vaughn described what happened when he was arrested by the FBI agents who were pointing guns at him and using guns to intimidate his children. VAUGHN: “When my kids go out to the car to go to school, and the FBI pulls up, armed, running to the door, and one of them goes to the kids and holds the kids with a long gun at the side of my driveway, and does not let them go into the house, that is absolutely, as my wife said in the video, unacceptable.” In Deuteronomy 30:19, God said, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” So far, Christians across America have donated $24,056 toward the $100,000 goal.  Please consider making a donation today. In a recent episode of the "Hidden Killers" podcast with host Tony Brueski, Detective Jason Howe discussed the mounting case against Rex Heuermann. Heuermann, suspected in a series of gruesome murders, is under investigation, and the revelations could have far-reaching implications for numerous cold cases.    The Las Vegas Police Department's DNA lab is presently conducting a direct comparison between Heuermann's DNA and samples recovered from a murdered New Jersey woman. Detective Howe stated, "results expected six to eight weeks down the road but could likely open the floodgates for at least four other unsolved murders in Las Vegas."    The crucial question arises: Is this comparison merely standard protocol or is there a stronger lead linking Heuermann to these other murders? Howe hinted at a bit of both. While due diligence remains vital in a criminal investigation, there are systems like VIA cap, or the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program, that identify similarities between cases. "It's quite possible that people can travel freely and commit crimes in other jurisdictions," he added.    The case presents several intriguing challenges. Notably, there's an almost decade-long gap between the last known victim in 2011 and the present day. The detective mused on the motive behind the suspect's actions: "I would just, you know, question what caused him to stop. If he is, you know, responsible for these murders, what caused him to stop?"    Another layer of complexity is the collaboration between different jurisdictions. These cases span across various states, each with its procedures, rules, and personnel. Thankfully, forensic evidence databases, such as CODIS, are national and can assist in matching DNA efficiently. Yet when it comes to eyewitness accounts, detectives need to sift through records and collaborate closely with other agencies.    The Heuermann family, notably his wife and children, have yet to be questioned by the police. Brueski remarked on this oversight, "It strikes me as rather odd that this far into a case, someone who's accused of this heinous of crimes that there has not been a sit down with the wife and a sit down with the kids." Detective Howe conceded that interviewing the family could provide essential insights into Heuermann's methods and behaviors.    As to why this hasn't happened yet, Howe mentioned the sheer magnitude of the ongoing investigation, which includes tracking countless leads, such as identifying similar vehicles. However, he emphasized the potential benefits of interviewing Heuermann's wife: "The fact that she wasn't present when these murders allegedly happened...she could be helpful."    Brueski further probed the idea of law enforcement surveilling the suspect's close contacts rather than directly interrogating them. To this, Howe mentioned the tricky balance between building a strong case and ensuring public safety, especially when the suspect might be a serial offender.    He highlighted the dilemma with an example from his experience, where they had to surveil a suspect for an out-of-state murder while waiting for a warrant. "You know, they could have had a team... trailing them, following 'em around collecting the partially eating pizza and to secure the evidence they needed to obtain a warrant," he elaborated.    While the story of Rex Heuermann continues to unravel, it stands as a poignant reminder of the intricate web law enforcement has to navigate. Balancing between public safety, due diligence, and the quest for justice, every piece of evidence can be a step closer to solving haunting cold cases. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? It took 20 years to start the search for her and no trace of her exsisting after December of 1977 has ever been found. If you feel that you have any information regarding the disappearance of 2yo Nikole Betterson please contact the Las Vegas Police Department at 702-828-3111.Nikole Betterson was only two years old when her mother tragically died in a car accident. Over the next three months it seems Nikole's father wasn't really in her life, she was just being raised by her maternal grandparents...until her dad came and announced him and his new girlfriend were taking her away. They told some people they would be moving to California, and others Las Vegas. When they left Michigan in late December of 1977 it was the last time anyone in her family would see Nikole. It took 20 years for her grandparents to search for her, and when they did they came up empty handed. There was no trace of Nikole existing after December of 1977.Filled with SS fraud, a murder suicide, and the possibility of Nikole passing at just two years old this case is very intense but important to put out there. If you would rather watch a video of me talking about the case then visit the YouTube link (in the linktree) below!Check out Infinite Intrigue for conspiracies, cryptids, and other oddities!Patreon: https://bit.ly/38XjzSKTwitter: https://twitter.com/GreatUnsolvedInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/greatunsolvedpod/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GreatUnsolvedPod/All other links: https://linktr.ee/thegreatunsolved

However, Vickie never made it to the friend’s house. The next day (May 8th) Vickie’s body was found in the desert. Someone had strangled her. In this interview, Deni and Dusty said their mother, who was Vickie’s sister spent much of her life trying to figure out who killed her sister. She has since passed without ever knowing who killed Vickie. The mystery of who killed Vickie Brekke has now been handed off to her two nieces Deni and Dusty who won’t rest until they find out who killed their Aunt Vickie. This week on Speak Out With Tim Wise, Tim speaks with filmmaker Ramsey Denison, whose award-winning documentary, "What Happened In Vegas" exposes the corrupt and brutal workings of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. While most Americans only came to think about law enforcement in Vegas in the wake of last October’s mass shooting, Denison explains that the LVMPD has a pattern of deeply rooted abuse and misconduct, little of which has ever resulted in officers being held accountable. Focusing specifically on four recent cases in which Las Vegas police killed innocent and unthreatening civilians, Denison shines a light on this culture of corruption, and the way in which the casinos and press in Las Vegas do their part to keep a lid on stories of wrongdoing. With regard to the October mass shooting by Stephen Paddock on the Vegas strip, Denison notes that the casino called a "back line” to the police, rather than 911 when the shooting began — something they do when high rollers are involved — and that this likely delayed the police response to the tragedy. Tim and Ramsey discuss the film and the stories it tells, and what needs to be done to restore confidence and integrity to the Las Vegas police department. This episode also includes Tim’s weekly commentary, discussing the recent government shutdown and the capitulation by Democratic Party leadership to the GOP’s weaponization of DACA and the Dreamers

When TV editor Ramsey Denison was jailed for simply reporting police brutality on the Las Vegas strip, he was inspired to investigate the Las Vegas Police Department. His investigation would lead him right up to the biggest mass shooting in American history. In this damning exposé, he reveals that the police know more than they are letting on about what really happened at the Mandalay Bay Resort, where 59 people were killed. Uncovering a long legacy of cavalier methods and dire consequences, civilian fatalities, unconstitutional arrests and embellished crime reports, this doc paints an incriminating picture of a police department where the officers are above the law. By Director Ramsey Denison: “When I drove into Vegas a couple years ago, making a documentary about police corruption was the furthest thing from my mind; I’d come to relax. I’d just finished editing a programme about cops tracking down bad guys - the notion that cops could be the bad guys was not something I’d spent much time thinking about. That all changed when my friend Rhett Nielson and I saw police officers torturing a stranger. I called 911 and reported the incident. A couple minutes later, I got beat up, arrested, and thrown in jail by those same cops. I reported officers Mark Belanger, Kyle Frett, and Jared Casper but LVMPD’s Internal Affairs department decided to do nothing about it. Officer Cole Erskine’s police report was full of fiction, written to justify the brutality. The club where my arrest occurred told me they had no footage because their cameras weren’t recording that night. Without video, it was three police officers’ words against mine and Rhett’s. In a town where you can get beaten up, arrested, and thrown in jail simply for making a phone call to report police brutality, I couldn’t help but wonder what else the LVMPD has done. I discovered that behind the glittering lights, the real Las Vegas is a rigged game of corrupt policing and institutional cover ups.” For news and updates go to: what-happened-in-vegas
