We heard from Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff following the conclusion of NHL Trade Deadline after he made two trades in the last two days both with the Sabres. On Thursday he sent Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn for a pair of players and two draft picks and today he sent Tanner Pearson to Buffalo for a 7th rounder in 2026. .

One of the top teams in the East came to Winnipeg and the Jets handed the Lightning an unexpected 4-1 loss as the home team played a complete game and got help across the board with this victory to run their points streak to five games (3-0-2).With it being the day before the NHL Trade Deadline, and with the team holding Luke Schenn and Logan Stanley out of the lineup for "roster management purposes, we discussed the possibility of them getting dealt and then the actual trade that saw them sent to the Sabres.

The Sabres didn't land any big fish at this year's deadline but they brought in depth at forward and the blue line. Following Thursday's 4-1 on the road at Winnipeg, VGK head coach Bruce said the two teams have started to develop "mutual hatred" between each other. Some of that hatred might have spilled over when Keegan Kolesar took exception to hit on Michael Amadio by Logan Stanley, and those two had a fight just three minutes into the contest. The turning point of the game, however, was when a Nic Hague game misconduct was reduced from a major to a minor penalty on a hit on Vladislov Namestikov.
