Following Thursday's 4-1 on the road at Winnipeg, VGK head coach Bruce said the two teams have started to develop "mutual hatred" between each other. Some of that hatred might have spilled over when Keegan Kolesar took exception to hit on Michael Amadio by Logan Stanley, and those two had a fight just three minutes into the contest. The turning point of the game, however, was when a Nic Hague game misconduct was reduced from a major to a minor penalty on a hit on Vladislov Namestikov. It pretty much took the wind out of the sails of the Winnipeg Jets. VGK then scored three straight goals. They swept the season series vs the Jets for a second season in a row. We preview Saturday's VGK-Wild game and we have our WTF segment - What the Friday..
On tonight's episode, we preview Winnipeg's upcoming rematch against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After two lackluster efforts against Pennsylvanian teams, will the Jets rebound with a visit home? Is Winnipeg prepared to go another game with Logan Stanley in the line-up, or will Ville Heinola finally make his long-awaited season debut for the big club? The boys hop right into discussing the Winnipeg Jets' 7-4 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. Angus asks about the Jets' identity. Angus talks about the fact all the lines look very similar. For a brief moment, the Jets were in first in the Central division. Sam Points out that Rick Bowness could be the bench boss for the Central at the NHL All-Star game. Angus talks about the defence and how it looked so good under Bowness. Josh Morrissey + Dylan DeMelo is an amazing pairing but why don't we see them more and who is responsible for it? Don't forget the Jets protected Logan Stanley over DeMelo. We get to the big dumb debate of should the Jets trade for a top-six forward or a top-four defender. Sam likes some San Jose Sharks that could come to the Jets. Angus looks at a Duck to trade for. Does Johnathan Toews fit with the Jets? Angus asks for a defensive defender and Sam points to the fact the Jets need to score more goals. Angus asks would you rather. WJC, an All-Star weekend or the Draft. Are NHL buildings too quiet? Angus talks about Canadian markets with quiet buildings and Connor Bedard. Sam talks about the WJC and whether or not Bedard has a real record. The boys tee up for the All-Star weekend and which other Jets could go to the All-Star weekend. Sam tells us why Dubois should be one of the players too. The guys pick some low-hanging fruit of the NHL sending one player from each team. Angus and Sam mourn the departure of Mikey Eyssimont. Angus explores the bottom six. Is Rick Bowness one of the greatest coaches of the NHL or is he one of the all-time worst? If you want to know, we trust in Bones. Angus does a quick round of Bowness Trivia. The podcast almost ends but Sam keeps it going and they talk about the injured players that came back to the Jets.
The episode opens with Angus Hout telling us about the Jets and their great stats to start the season, which leads to Angus asking Sam Brownell does it feel like this Winnipeg Jets will burn like teams in the past? Sam Explains why the team this year is better than the team's from a few seasons ago. Angus and Sam look at the Money Puck odds to win the Cup. Is it possible for the Jets to be the Cup winners? Should the Jets trade Nikolaj Ehlers? Angus and Sam agree trading Ehlers would be simply foolish. Then the debate of whether Ehlers is elite or is just really good. How many Alexander Ovechkin goals are acceptable against the Jets Angus and Sam see it very differently. The boys rip on the Thrashers records and how foolish it is. The Boys look at if Connor Hellebuyck should be a Hart finalist. You can't mention Hellebuyck without talking about David Rittich and how good he has looked this season. Angus and Sam look at the injuries that are affecting the Jets and speculate who will be filling in for Saku Maenalanen and some love for Logan Stanley. Sam looks at Jets' bottom six and the consistency of the Jets. More praise for Cole Perfetti and the fact he is third in rookie NHL scoring. Angus calls out John Scott to get him on Jets Nation Radio for saying the Jets aren't a real threat.
We hit the ground running talking about the loss on October 22nd and why the Winnipeg Jets were only 1-3 this past week. There are loads of excuses for the Jets there is still hope in this team. Sam Brownell keeps us up to date with Angus' wild hot take with the Florida Panthers and the Jets. The boys talk about going to games wearing the away jersey which leads to talking about Leafs fans. The love for Dubois comes up and the fact the team is looking out for one another. Sam makes a bold prediction about the second line. We find out if Ehlers is soft and injury-prone. We wrap up with predictions in the week for the Jets and their next four games.
On tonight's episode, we recap a humbling game against the Dallas Stars. For the Winnipeg Jets, what lessons can the team take away from a thoroughly frustrating evening? Are there internal solutions for the Jets to work with, or will fixes require external options? How can Winnipeg improve the defensive structure of the team? Is it finally time to sit Logan Stanley in favor of one of Dylan Samberg or Ville Heinola? What happened to Dylan DeMelo, and can he recover his form to stabilize the top pairing? What's going on with Pierre-Luc Dubois? Is he dreaming of a future outside of Winnipeg, or merely enduring a rough patch? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Is he dreaming of a future outside of Winnipeg, or merely enduring a rough patch?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
