Laurel shares her experience as a yoga practitioner and teacher for the last 25 years, how her classes have changed over that time and why she started a teachers training program. She also shares insights into the wellness aspects of yoga that often can be overlooked, and provides real insight how we can become more mindful of seasonal flow as energy changes with the seasons and how we can use this time in a constructive way that isn't in conflict with the energetic nature of the darkest part of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Det fortalte Tjerand Aske til venen Terje Fjellhaugen i Matre, då han var ein snartur heimom frå Oslo tidleg på 1970-talet. Året før hadde Tjerand vore på anleggsarbeid i SKL nokre månader, men var blitt oppsagt om hausten ilag med seks andre mellombels tilsette. Bakgrunnen for oppseiinga var at det var for kaldt til å driva med støyping, vinteren var på veg. Ei tid etter dette reiste han til hovudstaden for å starta på eit nytt liv.Tjerand hadde forlete det han eigde på Borgundøy etter at dyrevernnemnda i 1972 hadde teke ifrå han alle sauene hans. Dette må ha gått så hardt inn på han at det ikkje var anna utveg enn å røma derifrå. Men kvifor han, som det naturmennesket han var, valte å reisa til ein storby, er meir enn vanskeleg å forstå. Kanskje var det fordi han var i ein så fortvila situasjon? Han hadde mista jobben på anlegget i SKL og på Aske var det ikkje ein einaste sau igjen. Han stod på bar bakke, så å seia. Men Tjerand lengta tvillaust attende til fjell og fjord heime i Sunnhordland, også til Matre og Fjellhaugen, der sauene hans hadde beita om somrane. – Eg hugsar enno godt siste gongen eg snakka med Tjerand, fortel Terje Fjellhaugen. Det må ha vore i 1974, då han kom på besøk til oss i Matre. Han var fin i tøyet, endåtil i dress, og med koffert i eine handa. Han opna kofferten, tok opp ei flaske vin og sette på bordet. – Den skal du ha, for eg drikk ikkje, sa totalavhaldsmannen Tjerand Aske. – Bur i ei pappøske – Eg bur i ei pappøskje, men har det trass alt bra. Dessutan hjelper eg mange menneske der borte, fortalte han til Terje Fjellhaugen. Kva Tjerand, som då var i slutten av 60-åra, meinte med ein slik karakteristikk av buforholda sine, kan ein berre undrast over. Var det for å illustrera at han låg på gata blant uteliggjarar, slik det ofte er blitt sagt om han, eller var det hybelleiligheten sin på Stovner han omtalte som ei pappøskje? Det får vi aldri svar på, seier Terje Fjellhaugen. Eit anna minne frå den siste samtalen mellom dei to venene i 1974 var at Tjerand fortalte at han rett som det var fann uopna vin- og brennevinflasker på ulike stader i Oslo. Dei gjekk han til Vinmonopolet med, og fekk pant for, til liks med tomgodset han elles samla på. Slikt blei det pengar av, og vi kan ikkje sjå vekk frå at Tjerand levde av dette på slutten av livet sitt, slik mange har trudd.
Ordet "dystopi" er avledet av det greske δυσ- "dårlig" and τόπος "sted", det motsatte av "utopi", og altså ikke noe hyggelig sted å oppholde seg. Men i litteraturen har dystopien vært en mye brukt sjanger, og mange av litteraturhistoriens kjente klassikere er dystopier. Blant de mest kjente er George Orwells "Nineteen Eighty-Four" eller Aldous Huxleys "Brave New World". Dystopiene er ofte kjennetegnet ved forfall, dehumanisering, tyranni eller naturkatastrofer. (Alt for) Ofte ligger dystopiene tettere opp til vår virkelighet enn vi helst ønsker. Og kanskje er det nettopp derfor dystopiene fortsetter å fascinere og skremme oss. Til Trondheim litteraturfest har vi invitert tre dystopiske forfattere på besøk. Den danske forfatteren Kaspar Colling Nielsen har nylig utkommet på norsk med sin framtidsdystopi "Den danske borgerkrig 2018-2024", og Bår Stenvik har vakt stor oppmerksomhet med "Informasjonen", en framtidsroman som beskriver hvordan intelligente dataprogrammer preger våre mellommenneskelige forhold. Elin Viktoria Unstad debuterte i 2017 med ungdomsromanen Vega - kampen for en ny verden, en dystopisk og actionfylt roman om 17 år gamle Vega som lever i Nyhåp etter at Energikrigen ødela alt. Samtalen ledes av Askild Matre Aasarød, journalist i Morgenbladet.
