Yes, he is only a Sophomore in high school. No, this isn't fake. Today on the show is Cooper Lutkenhaus. Cooper is a Sophomore out of Northwest High School, and is one of the best 800m runners in the nation. Last June, as a freshman, Cooper stunned the field at the 2024 Brooks PR 800, running 1:47 and beating a star-studded field with his crazy kick in the last 200, setting the Freshman National Record. He also won the Brooks PR JR 800m as an eighth grader, and is a State Champ in the 800m, NON Champ in the 800m, and to be honest, the list goes on and on. I could go on and on about how talented this guy is and everything he has achieved only as a Sophomore, which is the same grade as me right now (lol). In my chat with Cooper today, we discuss how he solo time trialled an 800m in the middle of December and ran 1:52, what it meant for him to break the Sophomore Indoor 800m Record, running a converted 1:49.8 at the Texas Tech Invitational. Cooper also talks about pressure, his relationship with cross country as an 800m runner, and his thoughts on having his own Wikipedia page. Please, wherever you are, in your car, at work, on a run, give this podcast a follow and a five-star review on whatever platform you are listening on. That goes a long way in supporting the growth of The Sunday Shakeout so that I can keeping bringing to you some of the greatest stories in the sport of running and in that process, share love and passion for track and field and distance running. So, without further delay, please enjoy my conversation with Cooper Lutkenhaus

Susan Massy has been advising yearbooks for more than 30 years, and most of that has been at her current school. Yearbooks produced under her guidance have won many awards. In this interview with Jim Jordan, Massy discusses how much she struggled her first year, what made her come back to a second year, and the one big thing that made her yearbook experience better. In this interview, she recalled how she learned that yearbooks can be a true journalistic endeavor.   In the interview, she shares how inspiring her students can be, and how much she loves watching them be creative and problem-solve.  Her big advice for fellow yearbook advisers is: “We need to learn to coach, not just manage.” You can’t have an interview in 2020 without addressing what a crazy year it’s been. Massy and Jordan discuss the ways the impactful year has affected her yearbook. When they learned that spring sports were cancelled, they replaced it with COVID-19 coverage. Watching her students juggle all the changes helped Massy identify who would be her leaders for the 2021 school year. As the staff prepares for the 2021 book, they’re having what Massy calls both “freakout moments” and “aha moments.” Massy says their biggest challenge at the moment is putting together a yearbook ladder. They’ve increased their summer coverage, and are crowdsourcing for both photos and story ideas. They’re using several different mediums to collect these from the student body.   Massy shared her predictions for the 2021 yearbook. “I think our yearbook will have more first-person stories than we’ve ever had. I think we’ll have more people writing for us or with us than we ever have. So much of the content is going to have to come from beyond the staff.” They’ll be letting preconceived notions of what a yearbook “should be” fall away, and allowing this year’s book to take a new form that works with the current situation.

AFTERBUZZ TV - AfterBuzz TV's Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Steph Sabraw interviews Christina Elizabeth. She was also featured in writer/director Mickey Keating’s indie horror thriller Psychopaths. She wrote, produced and starred in the dramatic short Pretext, all of which takes place during a tense conversation between a rape victim and her rapist. And she was the comical referee on the football betting series Cousin Sal’s Sure Thing. A Nashville, Tennessee native, and a graduate of Northwest High School, Smith got her first taste of show business as a competitive dancer. During that period, as part of a tap dancing trio, she won the U.S. National Championship. However, acting was a stronger draw for her, and she soon began to appear in stage plays, music videos and commercials in her native Tennessee. She also made her feature film debut as the star of Happy and Dead, which was produced locally. When opportunities dried up in Nashville (she had appeared in so many music videos, she was oversaturated in the market), she decided to pursue her acting ambition in Southern California. One of her favorite early experiences was working opposite actress Geena Davis in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, in which she portrayed a traumatized mother seeking treatment for her suffocating baby. She also came to the attention of filmmaker Darrell Holmes who cast her as a popular girl in his romantic comedy Promenade. She then booked a victim role in the Morbid Minutes web series, which was directed by Ted Raimi, and she‘s the dippy bimbo sister opposite Bree Essrig in the Killer Sisters Midnight Hour horror movie review show for director Michael Williamson. Smith’s other television credits include: Young, Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Wacko Smacko. Her additional feature credits include: The Rocker, Ever, Mountain, and she starred opposite Alan Ruck and Kathleen Wilhoit in director Mike Williamson’s horror short Deathly. Comfortable with comedy roles, Smith is a veteran of The Groundlings, 10 West, and Upright Citizen’s Brigade. When she isn’t acting, she continues to dance; she’s passionate about animal rights, and fascinated with mythic storytelling from around the world. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Hello there! Before we start this adventure together, I'm sure you'd love to learn a little bit about me. I am Alex Sumner, an old soul in a young body. I grew up here in Clarksville, TN as an only child and with a hard head as my mom tells me. I've always been a poetic free-spirit and could easily become lost in books and quotes and pictures that spoke to me. I always tried to write myself and even remember carrying sticky notes with me to the bath tub to jot down whatever was jogging my brain. I met my dear husband here in Clarksville at Northwest High School is 2006. In 2008 we began dating and by 2009 he had proposed to me with my first professional DSLR which ultimately began the start of my photography career (thanks babe!). We married in March of 2010 and expected our first sweet baby, Hunter, in October of 2011 and our second lullaby rockstar, Scarlett, in February 2013. While my husband may have began the dream that is my career, my children have definitely prolonged it. After watching them transform day after day, I realize how long yet short life can be at the same time, and I am constantly reminded that in the blink of an eye, while we enjoy it in that moment, those high pitched giggles and pitter patters of feet are soon gone. Looking back at their pictures from even a few months ago I can sometimes forget how short Scarlett's hair really was and how many rolls Hunter's legs had, the way Scarlett squishes her nose when she finds something funny and the furrow of Hunter's eyebrows when he's deep in concentration. But of course I have those pictures to remind me of those sweet, special seconds and short days I seem to forget so easily. And that is exactly why children and family photography is my passion – to help you remember and to help your children remember and to help their children imagine what life was like years and years before them.
