Pastor David MorrisonColossians 1:25-27 (NLT)- The secret being revealed is something people have been looking for since the fall of humanity.- God's plan of salvation for all people has been revealed, and this plan is not unknowable. It's not something that only pastors know the secret to; it is shown because God has revealed it. All People Are Looking for an Answer and are Ultimately Searching for Hope.- Where do you search for hope? New Year's is when most people try to reset and figure things out. People should lead healthy, disciplined, and happy lives, but your hope will only be found in the revelation of God through the person of Jesus Christ. God's Plan for Salvation Won't Make Sense to Most People Without Experiencing God Personally. 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NLT)- Have you ever tried to explain the gospel to someone? These statements will sound foolish unless someone has a personal experience with God. A single encounter with God is not God's only goal for you. - Think about opening a gift. People peel back the corner and think, “This is it.” They pursue a feeling without seeking the fullness of God's revelation.- Have you ever had a moment where God peels back the corner, and you encounter His presence? Peel Back the Corner and Experiencing a Piece of God's Presence is Not the Whole Miracle. - The revelation of God is not solely an external experience of God. - Think about it this way: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…and He created man and woman. He placed them in a garden, and He would walk with them in the cool of the evening. I would submit that even the garden was incomplete…it wasn't God's ultimate plan. Colossians 1:27 (NLT)- Not only does God want to walk with you, but His plan is revealed: He wants to dwell inside of you. Christ Living in Me is the Gift. - The plan of God is revealed. You will not just know about God or experience Him periodically…but you will be so intimate with Him that He will be allowed to move into your heart…and cast out all the other things you have allowed to take leadership in your life. Galatians 2:20 (NLT)- Christ died so we could live with Him, and He invites us to die for the things we pursued for Hope. This is the Hope for me, and this is the Hope for You. I no longer live, but Christ is alive in me. He is my source of hope forever. I pray for miracles in your life, but the greatest miracle is when you surrender, rip off the paper, and accept the gift of His salvation. This gift can be yours today.

This week on Open Sources Guelph, it's a time for gift returns. What? It's not even Christmas yet! Well, the provincial government has been doing a lot of returning lately, taking back policy that they themselves developed and they were at it again this week. We'll talk about that, plus the scapegoating of international students, and for the interview this week, we will roll out the red carper for one of the city councillors who represents CFRU at 1 Carden Street. This Thursday, December 14, at 5 pm, Scotty Hertz and Adam A. Donaldson will discuss: Student Counsel. Last week, Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced that international students are going to need even more money in their pocket if they want to study here. International students are getting blamed for a lot: the housing crisis, more demand on food banks, etc, but what about the blame for post-secondary institutions that have been using international students like cash cows. Is there a way we can help students and without breaking the system? Peel Back. Although they announced just six months ago the plan to dissolve Peel Region, the Ontario government announced this week that - Surprise! - they're not going through with it. This is the third major policy flip-flop for the provincial government recently, and it comes on the same week that the Province is also looking at getting some new green energy projects going, another flip-flop. Well, at least we'll now be able to buy beer at the corner store! We'll discuss all that. A Christmas Caron. Guelph City Council has begun their holiday break with the approval of over 500 new units of housing. It's a pretty pointed comment on a year where housing was the big issue, and how municipal councils took much of the blame for being obstructionist in the creation of more housing. Ward 5 Councillor Leanne Caron thinks that's a bad wrap and she will join us this week to talk about Guelph's housing moves and why the issue is still more complicated than approving new developments. Open Sources is live on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca at 5 pm on Thursday.

While the BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) movement portrays itself as a grassroots campaign using legal means to combat alleged Israeli crimes, at its core, the movement is radically different. In addition to spreading anti-Israel disinformation, BDS campaigners also frequently use tools of discrimination in their attempt to demonize the Jewish State. While these efforts can take place anywhere, college and university campuses, as well as inside the halls of government, are frequent targets for this battleground aimed at delegitimizing Israel. In the face of these campaigns, many pro-Israel efforts have been launched in response, including the use of legal means. In this week's podcast, we sit down with Ron Machol, the Israel-based Chief Operating Officer of Zachor Legal Institute. Ron has a hi-tech background and is responsible for project development and outreach at the organization. “Harness builds software for teams that build software,” says Scott Sanchez, CMO of Harness. Scott and his team recognize that software developers at larger companies spend an increasing amount of time doing everything but coding. Harness provides a series of end to end products which ensure that that coding is high quality and delivered quickly and securely. He explains the importance of positioning and individuating in an industry in which an increasing number of people are selling a similar product. A large part of setting your business apart is providing thoughtful, valuable content. Scott explains what such content looks like across all aspects of the business, some of which might be surprising. He particularly focuses on organic social content, what this looks like and why many marketers get it wrong. Letting the audience see the human face of your company is a great way to connect, he explains. This is good news for those just starting out who can't afford to pay for glossy marketing productions. It is also the best way to engage with software developers who are inherently marketing averse and skeptical of anything too polished. Scott also considers the difference between sales and marketing, and how models like ChatGPT will affect his and other industries. He warns against the short-term thinking that many marketers (often inevitably) fall into. Learn why he declares Justin Welsh and Daniel Vassallo are two entrepreneurs to watch. Quotes: “Marketing's job, if done well, is to not be marketing. We are trying to help our customers get from point A to point B, whatever that is for them. And the more you can express that in terms of outcomes and value, the better job you're doing.” (3:36-3:56 | Scott) “A year from now, 18 months from now, what do you want your ideal customer to say this company, this product is the best in the world at?” (16:18-16:29 | Scott) “I think authentic, valuable content, not marketing content, the way a lot of people would think about it, but truly authentic and valuable content is worth 100x its weight.” (27:35-27:48 | Scott) “I do think too many marketers, not by choice…are forced into short term thinking…I think you get into that hamster wheel of catch up, on on goals. And you end up making poor choices as a result of not having options.” (40:40-41:29 | Scott) Connect with Brendan Dell: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendandell/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BrendanDell Instagram: @thebrendandell TikTok: @brendandell39 Buy a copy of Brendan's Book, The 12 Immutable Laws of High-Impact Messaging: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9780578210926 Connect with Scott Sanchez: LinkedIn: @scottsanchez Twitter:@scottsanchez Facebook:@scottsanchez Instagram:@scottsanchez TikTok: @:scottsanchez Harness.io Please don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe to Billion Dollar Tech on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! What We Discuss In This Episode: Alison shares her own story of how to deal with grief and move through life on your own terms. She shares how people react so differently through this process, and yet it's a process we'll all have to face, one way or another, during our lifetime. In moving through grief, we need to reconnect with self, reinvent ourselves, and rebuild our networks. People experience all of these when grieving but, of course, grief is very personal and universal. We all grieve in our own way and in our own time. People are often driven away as friends, acquaintances, and family members go through their own process of grief, because many times, people don't know how to respond to the person who's grieving. Alison shares not only her own experiences but also gives us some tips on how we can best help friends and family through times of grieving and be the best support and help possible to them during this very difficult period. Alison gives us hope and encouragement as she shares her own experiences and her own outcomes. One of the biggest influences on our prepping plans is people, and how they react in different situations. This will include people in our preparedness plans, and people we may come across. Understanding how to deal with different personality types is critical to getting the best results in any given situation. The way you interact with someone will determine their reaction to the subject. Some people need a “go it or else” warning, and some people would react very poorly to being ordered to do something. This would be a challenge if you came across someone in a SHTF situation because you haven't had the time to get to know them. Learning how to read people is something that will come in very handy in any SHTF scenario. In this article titled “Learn How to Read People and Peel Back the Onion” I went over the different layers of a relationship and how much you should trust someone.

You won't find and live your purpose until you know your authentic identity. As we go through life, our identity is layered on us by others. The labels that others put on us become woven into who we are, labels like “the baby of the family,” “the class clown,” “the athletic one,” and so on. In this episode we start to peel off the layers to discover our true identity. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/findyourpurposenow/message

Traditionally and historically, the stock market has always been a good barometer for the economy, but that hasn't been the reality in the modern era. Even today, the stock market is on a steady incline, and in great shape - seemingly nothing to see here, right? Unfortunately, no. In reality, the economic fundamentals do not match this optimistic trajectory. Even though the irrationality of the market going up continues to rule the day, we have to be aware that we're truly in for a reckoning this year. What are the glaring signs that there's a lot more to the economy than what is being reported? What should we actually be looking for in order to avoid getting caught up in the financial hype machine? In today's episode, our producer Matt Johnson returns, as we discuss the truth about the market and what you won't hear in the media..

Our 'Song To Chew' today, PEEL BACK THE SKIN, was written by my friend Stuart Stotts. He sings for grown-ups and kids in schools about how we can help each other live happier, healthier lives. I really love this song because it makes a really important point. When we hurt ourselves, before we put on a bandage, we have to make sure the wound is clean, or it won't heal properly. And when I say "WE", I mean that when each of us faces the pain of our own old injuries, we become stronger. And then like the individual threads of a blanket, the fabric of our society grows stronger and, healthier, and our systems become more balanced and more just for everyone! So please subscribe or follow this podcast. Invite your friends and family to listen, so we can get these songs into more ears and the ideas into more heads. Corporations are now warning consumers expect to see higher prices. They can't avoid it, they tried shrinking products, removing the count but now it will be obvious of what is happening. We were warned that Joe Biden was going to centralize zoning, he was right again. The enemy is now prepped and ready for the fallout. They will try to enrage the people to push their agenda, this will fail, so they will create it on their own using fake groups that have been infiltrated...don't fall for it. Once this fails, the enemy will move to a communication blackout. The fireworks are going to begin its going to be a very hot summer, get ready for the fireworks.

Peel Back the Curtain Alison Proffit, our sales expert, shares a little secret with us during a recent session. What's her secret? Sales happen naturally when they come from an authentic place. She shares that being authentic is easy, " it's just showing up. Showing up fully, not hiding the truth, peeling back the curtain, and sharing about your own challenges because often in your business, you're solving problems for people that are similar to you." How easy is that? Just be yourself and allow your clients to know you and just like that you will be flowing in sales. Are you struggling to show up authentically in your sales conversations? Today's guest is Elizabeth DiAlto. Elizabeth has such great, fabulous energy. You can definitely tell that she is untamed and has been doing this work for some time because she speaks so confidently about her whole framework of self-awareness, self knowledge, self acceptance, self trust, and self respect, which are so important on our journey to living the life that we want. Each of us can take actions and have behaviors and make choices. Those are the ABCs that you can learn more about from Elizabeth's websites as well. Those contribute to the life that we create. Elizabeth has invited us to look at the way that we talk to ourselves this week. And I hope you will take her up on that invitation. Where can you be a bit kinder to yourself this week? What can you notice? What can you name? What feelings do you experience that you can actually sit with? What can you observe and where do you need to soften? In last week's episode, the invitation was to tense and release the different parts of your body. And so if you continue these regular challenges, you start to see how the pieces fit together and how we can transform our lives by taking small, consistent actions. You can find the shownotes at https://changesbigandsmall.com/ If you enjoy the episode, please share it with a friend. I would also appreciate it if you would leave a review in iTunes or Spotify. We talk heavily on the export side and get American products out overseas, but we forget about making that US product and what importers need to source that good to produce. The import side of a trade is always a little more difficult for the importer because they must do the financing part; they have to sell it to the bank and sell it to the supplier. In this episode, I'm joined by Ralph Bochinno and Walter from Allstate Roofing, and we talk about trade finance options on an import level. We will listen to real-life discussions of the making of an import deal. I'll share conversations with the President of the bank and with the bank's client. We will hear some of the questions and the details banks are interested in knowing before closing a deal. Finally, Ralphie and I will wrap it up by discussing what we've heard and what are the possible solutions to make imports easier.
