Duke Associate Head Coach Chris Carrawell, where he discussed his coaching philosophy, offensive and defensive systems, and player development approaches at Duke University. Carrawell explained how Duke's offense is built around creating spacing and advantages through a 5-out system similar to NBA concepts, with coaches breaking down plays into smaller groups to teach players to read and react in game situations. He detailed how player development has evolved from traditional one-on-one training to more system-specific development focusing on players' roles within Duke's offensive and defensive schemes. Carrawell also shared insights about teaching defensive concepts like switching and steering, using specific player labels (like "Steph," "Westbrook," and "Clay") to help coaches understand different offensive threats. The conversation covered how Duke manages roster turnover with returning players helping new recruits learn the system, and Carrawell's experience preparing for potential head coaching opportunities through interview processes.

The Athletic's Sam Amick tells Rich which factors could determine if LeBron James returns to Los Angeles or moves on from the Lakers next season, which teams could be the most intriguing fits for a possible Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, how Oklahoma City successfully pivoted after parting ways with future Hall of Famers Kevin Durant, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, and why Steve Kerr returned to the Golden State Warriors instead of taking a TV analyst job. The Wizards landed the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery, forcing Chris “The Rooster” Russell to react after years of criticizing the franchise's tanking strategy. Rooster explains why one lucky result still doesn't fully justify losing on purpose, while also admitting Washington has finally built a young, versatile core worth believing in. Plus, the guys debate what it would take for the Wizards to actually trade the top pick and Rooster doubles down on why he'd still make the John Wall-for-Russell Westbrook trade all over again.
The Washington Wizards landing the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery sparks a wide-ranging reaction from Chris Russell, who revisits his long-standing criticism of tanking while acknowledging that Washington's luck has finally paired with the emergence of a young, versatile core worth watching. He maintains that a single lottery win does not fully validate a strategy built on losing, and the discussion extends into whether the Wizards should even consider trading the top pick, with Russell doubling down on his controversial stance that he would still make the John Wall-for-Russell Westbrook trade again if given the chance. Callers join the conversation, weighing in on tanking, roster construction, and national criticism of the franchise, while also sparking lighter debate along the way before the focus returns to basketball and media narratives surrounding Washington's direction. The segment further broadens into a deeper examination of rebuilding strategies across the league, the long odds of relying on lottery success, and what sustained failure can mean for a franchise's trajectory. The discussion then shifts to the Washington Nationals after their weekend series loss to Miami, assessing roster concerns and areas for improvement, before wrapping with a recap of NHL playoff action, highlighting key matchups and early postseason momentum across the league.
Christian Westbrook discusses the omnicrisis being used to engineer social control. Globalist entities are utilizing food scarcity, energy rationing, and AI-driven surveillance—a “beast system”—to dismantle national sovereignty and individual autonomy. Both Western and Eastern powers are equally complicit in implementing these oppressive technologies. To counter this neo-feudalism, Westbrook advocates for spiritual resilience and practical self-sufficiency. Watch on BitChute / Brighteon / Rumble / Substack / YouTube *Support Geopolitics & Empire! Ric Bucher breaks down a dizzying NBA playoff picture, from the Thunder and Spurs looking like rising Western powers to the Trail Blazers once again appearing trapped behind better-timed contenders. Ric also explains why building around international stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo may be the safest path for NBA franchises in today's trade-demand era. Then Ric digs into why ring culture has warped how we judge stars like Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Joel Embiid before turning to the Magic-Pistons series, Jalen Duren's sudden passivity, Paolo Banchero's aggression and Cade Cunningham's massive playoff workload. Finally, Ric takes on the LeBron James-Bronny James playoff moment, arguing that while it may be meaningful to the James family, the public celebration ignores how power, access and nepotism shaped the opportunity.Time Stamps: 00:00 Intro + Ric's new book on coachability 02:00 NBA playoff picture feels upside down 02:23 Thunder, Spurs, Blazers and bad timing in the West 03:23 Giannis-to-Portland rumors and international-star loyalty 04:46 Why NBA teams should build around foreign stars 05:38 Ring culture and how we underrate Chris Paul, Westbrook, Harden and Embiid 07:20 Playoff vertigo: Hawks-Knicks, Sixers-Celtics, Magic-Pistons 08:02 Why Magic-Pistons is not a “historic upset” 09:31 Jalen Duren's playoff struggles vs. Orlando 11:28 How Paolo Banchero is changing the series 13:53 Is Duren a true No. 2 on a contender? 15:36 LeBron and Bronny's “historic” playoff moment 18:57 Why Bronny's Lakers role is not like Ken Griffey Jr. and Sr. 20:36 Nepotism, power and Kirk Lacob's Warriors path 23:24 Why Bronny hype went too far after Game 3 25:44 ClosingHashtags: #NBAPlayoffs #LeBronJames #BronnyJames #GiannisAntetokounmpo #JalenDuren #PaoloBanchero #CadeCunningham #OrlandoMagic #DetroitPistons #TrailBlazers #Thunder #Spurs #OnTheBall #RicBucher #UnitedWeCastSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/bucher-and-friends. Brian Westbrook, executive director of Coalition Life, joins to preview this Saturday's March on the Arch in downtown St. Louis, focusing on abortion policy and the upcoming Amendment 3 vote. He argues the proposed measure would replace the current law with stronger protections for women and children, while restoring medical malpractice safeguards, waiting periods, and restrictions on late-term abortions. Westbrook says Missouri has shifted dramatically since the previous ballot measure, warning that the state now allows abortion through all stages of pregnancy under current law. The discussion also highlights the scale of expected political spending, with millions anticipated from both sides, and outlines coordinated efforts from pro-life organizations and allied political groups to counter outside funding and boost grassroots engagement ahead of the election. From Courtenay to California, Langley and now Haida Gwaii! Today we have the story of a guy Mitch had the chance to coach on the BC U17 team… wayyy back, and now is a coaching colleague, Mr. Cal Westbrook. Cal's love for competition and the game was evident early, and a few coaching mentors in his area on Vancouver Island helped nurture his basketball career and ability to compete. Some early blooming, making the Provincial Team as an underager, and the ability to score the ball made for a great high school career! Once his time at GP Vanier Secondary came to an end, Cal started to explore some different options, deciding on heading to a D2 school in California, Cal State Stanislaus. After a frustrating Sophomore year, Cal felt like maybe it was time for some change, and he came back to play for the Trinity Western Spartans. It wasn't a difficult decision as Cal knew players like Tyrell Mara (Portland State) and Jacob Doerksen (UVic) were heading home. A great three-year run and a national title appearance were the topping of the cake for Cal. In the end, Cal finished his degree and now finds himself coaching and in administration in Hadai Gwaii. This part of the story is special and truly where all the good stuff happens. We appreciate Cal taking the time to be with us, and know there will be all sorts of takeaways in this one! Tap in! This week on The Tone Mob Podcast, Blake hangs out with Colt Westbrook of Walrus Audio for a conversation that wanders through guitar pedals, business experiments, digital rigs, tube amps, customer service philosophy, and the delicate art of telling your friends they can't just show up at the factory and hang out all day. Colt walks through how Walrus has evolved over the years, from the early days of pedals like the 385 and Monument to the creation of entire product ecosystems like the Mako DSP line, Canvas utility gear, and the more affordable Fundamental series. Along the way he shares some surprisingly candid insight about what worked, what didn't, and why “budget” pedals in the boutique world often aren't nearly as profitable as people assume. The guys also dig into what working at a pedal company actually looks like day-to-day. Spoiler alert: it involves a lot less shredding and a lot more soldering, packing boxes, managing teams, solving problems, and trying to keep people from treating the shop like a guitar-themed coffee hang. Naturally, there's plenty of gear talk too. Colt walks Blake through his current guitars, his pedalboard, why EQ might be the most underrated effect ever, and why he's leaned more into digital rigs lately while still respecting the glorious chaos of tube amps turned up loud. They also get into Boss HM-2 love, the mysterious Terra Echo, Quad Cortex rigs, and the never-ending quest for consistency without killing the magic. Colt also shares some genuinely solid advice for anyone dreaming of starting their own gear company: build something great, make it meaningfully different, and treat your customers like they actually matter. Oh… and somewhere along the way we learn about a teenage band that shared one distortion pedal between two guitarists, and the Oklahoma pizza place that fueled their rehearsals. If you're into guitar gear, building brands, or just hearing how the sausage actually gets made in the music industry, this one's for you. Learn more about your ad choices. In today's episode of Talk Heathen, Dr. Ben and guest host Thomas Westbrook (Holy Kool-Aid) dismantle the boundaries of belief and biology! They explore the expanding circle of morality, the scientific reality of observed evolution, and the historical gaps in biblical manuscripts. Can critical thinking bridge the distance between ancient mythology and modern skepticism?Louis in NY asks why species membership limits moral concern. Thomas notes the expanding circle of morality, while Ben emphasizes prioritizing immediate human rights crises over ethical perfection. Is the pursuit of total purity a mental health trap?Lee in TX claims evolution is defeated since no one has observed speciation. Ben cites antibiotic resistance as proof of change, while Thomas details ring species and transitional fossils. Why do theists rely on rigid categories like "kinds" to deny biology?Zil Zone in NY questions if the universe's initial state is just atheist magic. Ben argues for scientific models over placeholders, and Thomas uses textual criticism to expose gaps in biblical reliability. Why prioritize 2,000-year-old stories over modern forensic data?Thank you for joining us this week! We will see you next time!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/talk-heathen--3195702/support.
