Today is a very auspicious day for us since this full moon in the month of Jyeshta is the Snāna Yatra, the day when Lord Jagannath in Puri is brought out for a bath: on this occassion, in 1855, Mā Bhavatārinī Kālī (Jagadishwari Thakur Rani) was ritually awakened through prāna-pratishta! at the Dakshineshwar temple, where Sri Ramakrishna lived and taught.Like the Phalahārinī Kālī Pūjā when Sri Ramakrishna worshipped Ma Sarada, this event too is a singularity in the ministry of the Motherhood of God. In one sense, all that is happening here now can be traced back to that moment in 1855 when Ma Bhavatarini opened her eyes and made her presence known in this world so directly! Ačkoliv nás od voleb do Sněmovny dělí necelé čtyři měsíce a kdoví, co se ještě může přihodit, jedno je jisté: Ubíráme se k nejvíce zpochybňovaným volbám od roku 1989. Ještě nikdy jsme nebyli svědky tak systematického a dlouho předem rozpoutaného nahlodávání důvěry ve spolehlivost našich volebních mechanismů.

Sněmovnou prošla koncem května takzvaná maxi novela trestního zákoníku. Některé věci, které byly v jejím rámci schváleny, jsou minimálně diskutabilní. Jiné ale přinášejí naději na změnu v oblastech, které byly až donedávna zcela zabetonované. Změna přístupu k pěstování a držení konopí je jednou z takových změn.

Taktika o třech bodech měla vládě pomoci vybruslit z mimořádné schůze ohledně bitcoinové aféry Pavla Blažka. Jak se jí to povedlo, v reportáži popisují podcasteři z Vlevo dole.Koalice se rozhodla kauzu takzvaně „vysedět“ a doufat, že se už nebude zhoršovat. „Taktika obsahuje tři body: schovat Pavla Blažka, zkusit z problému obvinit i někoho jiného a útočit na Andreje Babiše,“ popisuje v podcastu Václav Dolejší.Hned první bod plánu - schovat Pavla Blažka - ale vydržel jen pár hodin. Končící ministr spravedlnosti sice oznámil, že nevystoupí na mimořádné úterní schůzi, „hlavu v písku“ ale neudržel.„Naštval totiž nejen opozici, ale také koaliční partnery, kteří měli oprávněně pocit, že si z nich dělá legraci. Ale taky část vlastních spolustraníků, kteří kritiku schytávali za něj,“ přibližuje dění Lucie Stuchlíková.Nakonec tedy nezbylo nic jiného, než Blažka přece jen ukázat. V zákulisí před novináři ještě hýřil svou typickou bohorovností a vtipkoval, že „když po něm Sněmovna touží, má ho mít.“ U pultíku ale bylo vidět, že je to pro něj těžká chvíle.„Dokonce se mu podařilo u kolegů vzbudit lítost, kdy mu za projevenou sebereflexi a některé zákony přišly poděkovat jak poslankyně ANO, tak poslankyně STAN,“ dodává Dolejší.Jinak ale Blažek nic nového na svoji obhajobu nedodal. Senioři obecně patří mezi stabilnější a věrnější voliče. Strany ostatně v jejich loajalitu doufají i v letošních volbách do Sněmovny. Může na tom něco změnit bitcoinová aféra? Důležité je, jaký příběh se k tomu nabalí, říká sociolog Buchtík.I letos politické strany před volbami do Poslanecké sněmovny svádějí obvyklý boj o hlasy klíčové voličské skupiny - důchodce. A i tentokrát jim slibují lepší penze, levnější potraviny nebo slevy na jízdném. Na co dnes čeští senioři nejvíc slyší? Má je v kapse hnutí ANO? Proč u nich tak propadají Motoristé? A budou to důchodci, kdo rozhodne volby? Téma rozebírala Marie Bastlová se sociologem a šéfem výzkumné agentury STEM Martinem Buchtíkem v dalším díle speciálu Ptám se já – Rok voleb, ve kterém spolu pravidelně až do volebního víkendu glosují nejzásadnější témata a momenty letošního klání o křesla v Poslanecké sněmovně. Jejich pozvání přijal Jiří Hrabě, ředitel neziskové organizace Elpida, která přes dvacet let podporuje seniory. Senioři jsou pro politické strany už tradičně velmi atraktivní voličskou skupinou. Jen lidí nad 65 let je v Česku podle sociologa Martina Buchtíka zhruba 2,3 milionu, tedy asi pětina populace. A díky stárnutí obyvatelstva bude jejich podíl dál narůstat.Zároveň jsou loajální a je u nich velká pravděpodobnost, že k volbám skutečně dorazí. „Jsou to také stabilnější voliči, to znamená, že je větší pravděpodobnost, že budou volit tu samou stranu. Na rozdíl třeba od mladých lidí je tam skoro nulová šance, že by přešli do toho druhého koaličního bloku v těchto volbách,“ doplňuje sociolog.Příběh o bitcoinech bude mířit i na senioryMohla by s preferencemi důchodců zahýbat kauza miliardového daru bitcoinů Ministerstvu spravedlnosti, která aktuálně otřásá vládní koalicí a která je i pro samotné politiky podle jejich slov nepřehledná? „Důležité je, jaký příběh se k tomu nabalí. Vždy se hledá nejjednodušší prvek. Takže třeba příběh: pere prachy drogových kartelů nebo mafiánů - to je, myslím, docela srozumitelné,“ říká Buchtík.„Ale zároveň ta situace bude mít poměrně velkou dynamiku. Teď je to věc, která bude utvrzovat v začátku spíše třeba voliče hnutí ANO nebo SPD o tom, že udělali dobrou volbu. Že k těm volbám mají opravdu dojít. A zároveň se bude snažit připravit vládu o to, na čem si zakládá, že je mravní a hodnotová. A část toho bude mířena i na seniory. Podle Blažka nebylo na transakci nic nelegálního a neprokázalo se, že dar pochází z trestné činnosti. Vládní koalicí kauza sice otřásla, strany ale zatím vyčkávají. Starostové zatím navrhli získané peníze zmrazit, dokud se neprověří jejich původ a okolnosti přijetí. Zároveň Premiér Petr Fiala (ODS) zdůraznil, že je nutné prověřit, zda nedošlo ke zneužití státu k legalizaci výnosů z trestné činnosti. Okolnostmi celého případu by se měla ve středu večer zabývat i Bezpečnostní rada státu a ve čtvrtek také mimořádně Sněmovna. Kdo všechno nese na kauze díl viny? This special Saga Brief interview with Anna Melsteð (of the Eyrbyggja Saga Society) was recorded at the foot of Helgafell on a drizzly afternoon following a full day of exploring key sites from Eyrbyggja Saga with Anna, Eyberg, and Guðlaug as our guides. Our day began with a quick viewing of the original site of the Þórsnessþing, mainly to get a view of where drítsker might be. We followed that up with a rugged hike to Vigrafjörður, where the Thorbrandssons and Thorlakssons famously clashed on the ice in chapter 45 of the saga. From there, we trekked to Bólstað on Álftafjörður to pay our respects to Andy's thingman Arnkell. We were even greeted with a rainbow, a generous gift from the best man in the saga. But the biggest highlight was walking the paths carved (allegedly) by the Swedish berserks Halli and Leiknir, followed by a brief rest at the overgrown ruins of Killer-Stýr's sauna, where their tale ended in steam and the tip of Stýr's spear. It was, of course, one of the most rewarding days we've ever spent in Iceland. The stories of Eyrbyggja Saga came alive in a powerful new way as we stood in the places where they unfolded. The day concluded at Hraunháls, where we enjoyed Icelandic hospitality, a tasty homemade cake, and a glimpse of the proofs for the incredible Eyrbyggja Saga tapestry. As evening approached, we finally drove over to the base of Helgafell to sit down with Anna for a chat about her work, the power of landscape in the sagas, and the growing community of saga enthusiasts on Snæfellsnes. Lídři koalice složení z ODS, TOP 09 a KDU-ČSL teď musejí řešit, jak vůbec dál v pokračovat v agitaci.Do voleb zbývá čtvrt roku, tato aféra je bezpochyby zásadním momentem v probíhající kampani. Ve čtvrtek se případem budou zabývat poslanci na mimořádné schůzi, přičemž ANO, SPD i Piráti chtějí hlasovat o vyslovení nedůvěry vládě.„Z problémů Spolu se pokusí vytěžit maximum jejich kolegové z vlády, tedy hnutí STAN. Určitě se budou snažit přilákat zklamané pravicové voliče, aby se svou frustrací nezůstávali doma, ale hodili hlas jim,“ říká Lucie Stuchlíková. „Vít Rakušan ví, že určitě nepůjdou volit ANO, takže se bude nabízet jako alternativa pro ty, kteří se bojí návratu Babiše.“Skutečnost, že do masivních problémů dostane Fialu zrovna Blažek, je na první pohled paradoxní. Je to jeho přítel z Brna, jemuž vděčí za mnoho v politické kariéře: Blažek ho v roce 2014 prosadil do čela strany. A byl to zase Blažek, kdo po volbách v roce 2021 přemluvil prezidenta Zemana, aby Fialu bez podmínek jmenoval premiérem.„Pro ODS je charakteristické, že ten, kdo stojí na začátku úspěchu předsedy a premiéra, je ve finále tím, kdo zaviní jeho konec. Ministr spravedlnosti a držitel žluté karty od premiéra Pavel Blažek má další problém. Musí hájit přijetí miliardového daru pro ministerstvo od v minulosti odsouzeného prodejce drog. Ukázalo se, že se na ní nacházejí tři miliardy v bitcoinech. A co se nestalo, „podnikatel“ se rozhodl miliardu věnovat ministerstvu spravedlnosti.„Samozřejmě se nabízí otázka, proč by to onen člověk dělal? Dal se ve vězení na víru a teď napravuje svoje hříchy? Stala se z něj dobrá duše, které leží na srdci vyrovnaný rozpočet ministerstva spravedlnosti?“ ptá se v podcastu Lucie Stuchlíková. Podle ministra Blažka se možná dal bývalý prodejce drog na pokání.Původem peněz se v minulosti zabývaly soudy, najít se jim ho nepodařilo. Sám štědrý dárce tvrdí, že s jeho trestnými činy nijak nesouvisí a že je vytěžil na počítači u dědečka v Břeclavi.„Silně mi to připomíná příběh Stanislava Grosse, kterému nosil peníze strýček Vik v igelitce. Gross se obhajoval slovy, že je to křišťálově čisté, že ani křišťál nemůže být křišťálově čistější. Blažek zase říká, že je to tak ultralegální, že to legálnější být nemůže,“ připomíná Václav Dolejší.Není to poprvé, kdy se ministr Blažek proslavil kreativní výmluvou. Když měl vysvětlovat, proč se schází na soukromém večírku s poradcem prezidenta Martinem Nejedlým, tvrdil, že ho do restaurace „náhodou zahnala bouřka.“Po původu peněz od odsouzeného prodejce drog se prý Blažek neptal. Stačí mu prý to, že neexistuje rozsudek, že by pocházely z trestné činnosti. Tedy zatím - poté, co se miliardy objevily, začala věc prošetřovat policie. (A než stihl tento podcast vyjít, Seznam Zprávy odhalily, že peníze ministerstvu připluly přímo z konta nechvalně proslulého drogového tržiště.)Co bude dál? „Hlavní politické figury ODS včetně premiéra jsou pořádně naštvané. Nedivil bych se, kdyby to tentokrát Pavel Blažek nakonec neustál,“ říká Václav Dolejší.Politicky je to každopádně pár měsíců před volbami, které ani bez toho nevypadají růžově, pořádný průšvih. „Je jedno, kolikrát bude ministr opakovat, že je všechno čisté. Ta věta zní jasně: Ministerstvo spravedlnosti si vzalo miliardu od odsouzeného dealera drog, jejíž původ je nejasný. A připomíná, že za posledních 15 let jsme měli třináct ministrů školství.Experti z neziskových organizací zabývajících se vzděláváním říkají, že ještě důležitější než ministr jsou ředitelé konkrétních škol a samozřejmě učitelé. Volají proto po kariérních systémech a investicích do zlepšení přípravy učitelů, aby o obor byl zájem.„Ukazuje se, že největší brzdou jakéhokoliv pokroku ve školství je roztříštěnost systému. O základní školy pečují obce, o střední kraje, ale málokdo řeší kvalitu vzdělávání. With one small, clever—and now-trademark—idea in 1990, the chef Thomas Keller turned not only the notion of the ice-cream cone on its head, but the fine-dining world, too. Now, 35 years later, his hospitality group comprises 10 restaurants, including The French Laundry in Yountville, California, and Per Se in New York City—both of them three-Michelin-starred—as well as Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery in Las Vegas and The Surf Club Restaurant in Miami. Across his entire hospitality operation, a highly refined, expertly tuned set of standards feeds his “one-guest-at-a-time” philosophy and culture. In many respects, Keller was at the forefront of a local-focused cooking movement. He was also a pioneer in making fine dining more relaxed and approachable—and decidedly less fussy.
