Namaste and welcome back to The Finale Pod! We are discussing Lauren's pick: the Season 3 finale of The White Lotus. At least three corpses, a few failed poison smoothies, and a $5 million hush deal later, Thailand's most cursed resort delivers a finale that's equal parts bloodbath and bewilderment (why, Rick?!). Don't forget to leave a comment on our Instagram @thefinalepod and share your thoughts on The White Lotus! We start our recap discussion at the [15:10:00] mark if you want to fast forward past the Co-host Quickfire Catch-up, our Love It Lately recommendations, and the Icebreaker Intermission about piña coladas (and possibly getting caught in the rain). The overall TFP rating for the Season 3 finale of The White Lotus is 6.100. Q&A on the HBO Max television series The White Lotus with actor Sarah Catherine Hook. Moderated by Mara Webster, In Creative Company. Set in a tropical resort, it follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.
Dianne is out on a very special assignment so Chris is joined by guest host (and real-life SAG voter) Ian Brodsky to discuss everything from the future of James Bond to Mike White's extremely specific references. Featuring our predictions for Season 3 of The White Lotus on HBO (uh, yes, we're going to talk about what's going on with the “Will They? Won't They” Brothers). But first! So much streaming, including: The best moments from the NBC SNL50 special (also Chevy Chase was there). Our undying love for the just-wrapped first season of ABC's High Potential. A ratings update on The Night Agent and Ian's elevator pitch for why Black Doves should be your next Netflix spy fix. And some big surprises from some even bigger personalities behind some of the world's biggest IP: Kathleen Kennedy plans to step aside at Star Wars and the Broccoli family finally relinquishes the keys to the James Bond kingdom (we're pitching our Bonds for Bezos, of course). Correction: Michael Wilson is Barbara Broccoli's half brother, not stepbrother. Stepbrothers were just on the mind this week! ———

Tune in as Makayla (Your Friendly Neighborhood Blerd) jumps onto the podcast for a breakdown of First Kill, the 2022 lesbian vampire Netflix series that follows the forbidden romance between two teenagers—one who's of the literally bloodsucking sort, the other who's of the monster-hunting variety. It's a shame that this only had the chance to stream for a couple months before the big red N suddenly decided to cancel it. The sociopathic Elinor quite possibly being the most fascinating character here, the show taking an incredibly dated and MAGA-era stab at political commentary, and the terrifying state of generative and deepfake AI in Hollywood stand out as a few of the talking points for this episode. Created by V.E.
