Shakuntala Gawde's book Narrative Analysis of Bhagavata Purana: Selected Episodes from the Tenth Skandha (Dev Publishers, 2023) presents an analytical study of selected narratives of the tenth skandha of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa with the framework of Narratology. It checks the possibilities of interpretation of some popular narratives from Kṛṣṇa saga. Book gives an exhaustive introduction dealing with Purāṇas, the growth of Vaiṣṇnavism and Narratology with special reference to Bhāgavata Purāṇa which sets precursor to the further analysis. It undertakes hermeneutic interpretation of episodes – Lord Kṛṣṇa's birth story, Lifting of Govardhana Mountain, Syamantaka jewel, exploits of Pūtanā and other demons, uprooting of Arjuna trees, the expulsion of Kāliya, Gopīcīraharaṇam, Rāsapaῆcādhyāyī, story of Kubjā, story of Śrīdāman and Rukmiṇī Svayaṁvara.  All these narratives are categorised into three themes – 1) Assimilation and acculturation 2) Exploits of demons and 3) Bhakti Narratives. The Narrative structure of each episode is analysed to derive the meaning from it. Theoretical frameworks developed by K. Ayyappa Paniker, Genette and Roland Barthes are applied to the selected narratives of the tenth skandha of Bhāg. P. to understand the deeper meaning of the narratives. The toolbox approach is taken into consideration while doing textual exegesis and hermeneutic interpretation. It explores socio-historical, psychological and philosophical aspects of the above narratives through textual analysis of the tenth skandha of Bhāgavata Purāṇa using the tools like intertextuality and intratextuality. Credits  Banner: Anandi Arts Creations  Cast: Uday Kiran, Anita, Tanikella Bharani, Sunil, MS Narayana, Dharmavarapu, Shakuntala, Rallapalli  Music: RP Patnaik Lyrics: Kula Sekhar Cinematography: Rasool Ellore  Art: Narayana Reddy  Editing: Shankar  Story, Dialogues, Screenplay & Direction: Teja Producer: P Kiran  Theatrical Release Date: 10th August 2001 Context: Watched it when I was young and the only reason I remember the movie is Gajuvaka Pilla, even today that's the only song I liked and remember and of course one of Uday Kiran's biggest hits, 2nd of the 3. Decided to rewatch it as we are doing all youthful love stories during that time, and it was ROD RA BABU. ROD RAMBOLA. Interesting Facts: After Chitram, director Teja had some many offers, and he got an offer from Venkatesh. He readied the story, artists, tehnciaisna but at that tome Vneky was already committed to Nuvvu Naaku Nachav. Teja felt really bad and since they already had everything set under same production house and everything was ready, one day he was seriously driving the car and road addamga gorrelu tholuthu oka andamaina girl  Looking at her chiraakly, a man in a Benz car. Seeing this suddenly teja got an idea, he went back and told the producer who was supposed to make the movie with Venkatesh, thats cancelled and instead listen to this story, hero is a millionaire and girl is a gorrelu owning guys daughter and told some scenes. The producer liked it and they put murtham the very next day and started the next day. Dasaradh and Trivikram Srinivas saharakam.  Besides hero and heroine, entire cast and crew was finalized. First they asked Sumanth, he said no and Madhavan rejected it. Teja was in a dilemma, then Uday Kiran came to mind/ Uday Kiran considers Teja as his godfather, and he came to him asking for next movie advice. Teja was just observing him and Uday Kiran thought hes in some thought and as he got up to leave, Teja told him go to the gym and build a nice body youre the lead of my next movie. Uday Kiran was very excited  For heroine, they auditioned 100 people. One girl was finalized but he started asking for palana hotel, palana car, and started to do buildup so then Teja looked all the other girls left and asked who's the cheapest girl here, the girl showed Anita's photo and Teja said this girl is my heroine you can now leave and told this to that girls face and she got shocked.  Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Vikarabad entire shoot for completed very quickly.  Movie had 11 songs and producer asked to remove 3 of them but Teja didnt agree to it. For the movie they wanted to do with Venaktesh, Gajuvaka Pilla had already been composed and they used it for Nuvvu Nenu instead  The scene where hero's father wants to get his son married to his lovers daughter was objected by Dasaradh but Teja said high range people are like this only.  Shooting was completed and 1 crore 60 lakhs budget August 10th release and movie got blockbuster talk from morning shows. Though we have seen such love stories, screenplay really hooked audience in and then songs, emotions everything aakatu kunnayi.  Mee Pedollu vunnare dialogue became iconic and wherever you went you heard Gajuvaka Pilla  Movie made Uday Kiran a star hero and fans clubs started around Andhra, Teja became a star director. RP Patnaik became a star music director, Dharmarupu, Vizag Prasad and Telangana SHankuntala all got. Huge break with this film  Coming to box office details and run, it collected 15 crores share and more than 20 crores gross and caused a sensation. It collected 1 crore gross in a single theater in Hyderabad  After Narasimha Naidu, Kushi, and Nuvve Kavali, it was 4th highest grossing movie ever after final run ended and Uday Kiran got the record which no star hero had at the time having a top movie in all time highest grossers currently. Late release added it completed 100 days in 70 centers.  It gave all distributors 10x laabalu. It won 5 Nandi Awards and 4 Filmfare Awards South.

Pixxel, a space-technology startup in Bengaluru, has launched its first commercial imaging satellite to space. The company launched its first full-fledged commercial satellite, named Shakuntala (Technology Demonstrator-2) onboard a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket on April 1, according to a press release. Weighing less than 15 kg, Shakuntala (TD-2) is capable of capturing orbital images in more than 150 bands of colour from the visible and infrared spectrum with a resolution of 10-meters per pixel — far exceeding the specificity of 30-meter per pixel hyperspectral cameras on satellites from NASA, ESA, and ISRO, according to Pixxel's release. This launch also comes on the heels of Pixxel's $25 million Series A funding from Radical Ventures, Seraphim Space Capital, Relativity Space co-founder Jordan Noone, Lightspeed Partners, Blume Ventures, and Sparta LLC among others. More than 50 customers have also signed pre-launch agreements with Pixxel from sectors including agriculture, oil and gas, mining, and climate monitoring. Infosys, India's second-biggest IT services company, will release its fiscal fourth-quarter results on April 13, for the year ended March 31, 2022 (FY22). The Bangalore headquartered company's results are expected after markets in Mumbai, at around 4 p.m. IST, on the day. Expectations are high that Infosys will continue to accelerate its growth on the back of the strong demand for digital transformation projects as its customers around the world invest more in shifting workloads to the cloud, and embrace technology for a secure, hybrid workplace. In January, Infosys projected that it expects full-year revenues to increase by between 19.5 percent and 20 percent for FY22. Larger rival Accenture projected last month that it expects to grow revenues for its current fiscal year that ends on August 31, in the range of 24-26 percent, in local currency. Ather Energy, an electric scooter maker in Bangalore, sold 2,591 scooters in March, posting a 120 percent increase from the same period last year, according to the company's monthly sales report. Ather is also expanding its sales network, having added four new showrooms, including in Guwahati, Vijayawada, Tirupathi, and the third one in Bangalore. The company has previously said that it is currently fulfilling only a fraction of its orders due to a component shortage. It has also recently tied up with contract manufacturer Foxconn, to help ramp up production of its Ather 450 series of scooters. Atlassian, which makes cloud software for collaboration, expects to expand its venture fund to support more SaaS startups that are looking to work with its products and platform, including in India, the Nasdaq-listed Australian company said in a press release last week. Atlassian has a global R&D centre in Bangalore with more than 1,000 engineers. Over the last 18 months, the company has committed $110 million to Atlassian Ventures, and invested in 30 startups, according to the release. Ancient India is a treasure box filled with beautiful tales of people from every age. It is indeed the richest contributor to literature for the whole world. These enchanting stories take us to a world unknown to all of us. The greatest books like Ramayana and Mahabharata is a compilation of several short stories. Today we are going to hear of one such beautiful tale from the book of Mahabharata. This is the story of Shakuntala and Dushyant who were the ancestors of Pandavas and Kauravas.  Long ago in the age of Sat Yuga there lived a sage named Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra was an extremely powerful and divine saint known for his spiritual powers. His power was such that it even made the Devas (Gods) insecure. One such God was Indra who very insecure and decided to break Vishwamitra's penance to subdue his powers. He sent the most beautiful apsara (nymph) from heaven to seduce Vishwamitra. This beautiful nymph was known as Menaka. She descended on Earth and as per the plan went to visit Vishwamitra. It didn't take much time for her to lure Vishwamitra into her divine beauty. Vishwamitra lost his control and made love to her.  A beautiful girl child was born due to this act of love. Menaka was now successful in her mission. She retreated to the heavens leaving Vishwamitra and their daughter on Earth. Vishwamitra realised that all this made him lose much of his spiritual powers. He abandoned the child in the forest and went back to continue with his penance. This child was Shakuntala. The baby girl was spotted by Rishi Kanva. He saw that baby was being guarded by birds. Sage Kanva decided to adopt the child and hence took her to his hermitage. He named her Shakuntala. Shakuntala grew up to be a beautiful maiden just like her mother.  One day a king named Dushyant happened to encounter her in the forest. He was simply struck by Shakuntala's beauty and fell in love with her instantly. He proposed to her for marriage and Shakuntala agreed. They married as per Gandharva tradition in the presence of sage Kanva. Dushyant was a king from the Lunar dynasty and Shakuntala was the daughter of an ascetic. Hence it was not an ideal match. Dushyant needed time to make arrangements in his kingdom so that Shakuntala is accepted as his Queen. He decided to go back and promised Shakuntala that he will return soon to take her along. He also gifted her a ring as a token of their love. After he left, Shakuntala gave birth to their child. He was named Bharat. Years passed but Dushyant did not return. He became very busy with his duties and kingship. Shakuntala waited for him but soon grew anxious and started losing her patience. She would be lost in his thoughts the whole day without talking much to anyone. One day sage Durvasa decided to visit Kanva's ashram. When he met Shakuntala she was lost in Dushyant's thoughts as usual and hence did not greet the sage respectfully. This enraged Durvasa and in the fit of his rage, he cursed her that whoever was in her mind shall forget her completely. Shakuntala begged for forgiveness and hence Durvasa gained his calm again. Realising that he overreacted he modified the curse and said that the person shall remember Shakuntala when she will show him any proof of their relation. After this Shakuntala decided that she won't wait for further but rather go and see him by herself. She and her foster father then began their voyage towards the kingdom. To reach the kingdom they had to cross a river and hence they boarded a boat. Accidentally while sitting in the boat Shakuntala lost her wedding ring gifted to her by Dushyant. The ring fell off in the river. When Shakuntala finally met king Dushyant she was disheartened to see that the king had completely forgotten about her. She tried hard to make him remember everything, but in vain. Insulted with this she returned to her hermitage. Meanwhile, the ring that fell in the river was consumed by a fish. A fisherman happened to catch this fish. When he cut the fish into pieces he found the ring inside. He realised that it was a royal ring and hence took to Dushyant's court. When the king saw this ring he instantly remembered everything. He realised that his wife Shakuntala was waiting for him. He then decided to find her and get her to his kingdom. Finally, he went back to Kanva's hermitage and the couple reunited again.  Follow us on www.facebook.com/mysticadii www.pinterest.com/mysticadii www.instagram.com/mysticadii Download Our iOS App onelink.to/mysticadii

Sie war auch eine Freundin von Shakuntala. Ein vollständiges: Sanskrit Wörterbuch (Sanskrit-Deutsch, Deutsch-Sanskrit). Mehr Informationen zum Yoga findest du HIER. Episode 4 - The episodes are getting a little longer now, as the stories get more detailed.  Before the book gets to the "direct line" of characters, it takes a bit of a detour to introduce some of the important ancestors in the Bharata Dynasty.  These include Bharata himself, plus his ancestor Yayati (and his son Puru), as well as Bharata's descendent Kuru.  The sketches are in fact quite brief, and the lengthy portions are generally about very specific aspects of their lives.  In the case of Bharata, we'll hear a lot of information about his conception and the questions of his legitimacy, and that's about all.  As for Kuru, we only hear that he recovered the throne of Hastinapur sometime after his father lost it to the King of Panchala.  The story of Yayati and his sons is much longer, but it is also quite odd.  I'm going to save it for later because it also bears on the descent of Krishna, plus I'm anxious to get going with the main story! So for this time, it's the story of Bharata, his mother Shakuntala, and his jerk of a father, King Dushanta...

Episode 5 - I briefly give my opinion of the previous episode on Shakuntala and Dushanta, and then get going with the birth of mighty Bhisma and his two not-so-mighty brothers. This is an important episode, because in many ways, it is Bhisma's over-reaction to his father's desires that ultimately sets the whole tragedy in motion.
