On October 1, 1989, forty-three women give birth to forty-three children, despite none of them showing any sign of pregnancy until labor began. Seven of those children were adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, and turned into a superhero team known as "The Umbrella Academy". In the present, five of these children, now grown-up, live separate lives. Luther "Number 1" lives on the moon, Diego "Number 2" stops a home invasion, Allison "Number 3" walks on the red carpet at a film premiere, Klaus "Number 4" leaves rehab and immediately begins to use drugs, and Vanya "Number 7" plays the violin. After watching the news, they all learn about Sir Reginald Hargreeves's death. The children decide to reunite in their old home, the academy, to talk about their father's death. Visiting his father's bedroom, Luther begins to suspect that his father was murdered by one of the others, as his monocle is missing. Diego reassures Luther that the coroner stated that Sir Reginald died of heart failure but Luther remains suspicious. In a flashback to the Umbrella Academy's first public appearance, the academy successfully stop a bank robbery. Sir Reginald and Vanya watch the action from a rooftop, and Vanya asks why she can't help. Sir Reginald tells Vanya that she just isn't special, and later in an interview, he tells the public that he adopted six children, instead of seven. Back in the present, a lightning storm causes the group to go outside. Once there, they watch as a young Five "Number 5", one of the siblings, arrives at the academy through a strange ball of blue energy. Five explains that he traveled to the future, came back, and became stuck in his 13-year-old body, though he's actually a 58-year-old man. Later, the group holds a funeral for Sir Reginald. In a flashback, Sir Reginald trains and monitors all the children. He also gives all of them a tattoo of an umbrella on their wrists, except Vanya, who draws her own umbrella tattoo using a pen. In the present, the group part ways. Five visits a coffee shop, where he kills several men who try to kidnap him. At a river, Diego is revealed to have taken Sir Reginald's monocle, which he dumps in a river. Klaus, who has the ability to talk to dead people, begins to talk with his dead sibling, Ben "Number 6". The episode ends with Five visiting Vanya, where he tells her that in eight days the human race will come to an end, but he doesn't know why or how.

“The Voiceover Chronicles with Rahul Iyer”

This episode is about today's main focus in the world-artificial intelligence. It is hosted by Vincent Twice Vincent Twice, the original host from the famous Sesame Street program “Mysterious Theatre” and is about a group of detectives-notable ones like Columbo (Peter Falk), Fitz (Robbie Coltrane) from the British detective series Cracker, Snooper and Blabber, Hanna-Barbera's famous cartoon detective duo, legendary pet detective Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) and policeman Carl Winslow (Reginald Val Johnson) from Family Matters- along with a few common characters like the Three Stooges and Muhammad Ali, who solve a crime involving the murder of a millionaire by his butler, who happens to be a robot. The robot was actually assigned to kill Pink Panther detective Inspector Clouseau of the French Surete by the latter's former boss Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), while Clouseau was investigating Sir Reginald's mansion. Our friends take the help of a robot detective named AI Sleuth, who was invented by Steve Urkel (Jaleel White), also from Family Matters.

In today's episode of Transmit Safety, Aimee dives deep into a common workplace challenge - why people sometimes don't follow policies and procedures. It doesn't matter the size of the organization, the organization has to ensure the health and safety of the employees. Now, when we think about that compliance standpoint, oftentimes policies and procedures are only followed when someone from corporate or an auditor is there. Can you relate to spending hours crafting what you think is the perfect set of directive documentation, you have a fantastic procedure, only to find out through observations or feedback that people aren't following them. It can be frustrating. But fear not, I've got five reasons why your directive documentation might not be working and how to improve them.In this episode, you'll learn:Using clear and concise language to convey your message in documentationInvolve employees in the creation and review of documentationTraining is essential for ensuring that documentation is followedEnsure your documentation is regularly updatedThere needs to be accountability for not following policies and proceduresThe Transmit Safety Podcast is here to help health and safety practitioners achieve a holistic approach to workplace health and safety so they can become impactful leaders and put the value of safety into action. It's what they're not saying when it comes to communicating your policies, your practices, your procedures, your standards”“It's not enough to have a great document. You also need to ensure that people understand how to follow it. If you just assume that they're going to figure it out on their own. You're definitely setting yourself up for disappointment.”“If there's no consequences for not following a policy or procedure, then why would people take them seriously? They may feel that they're there, but there's no repercussions. And if there's no repercussions, then why would they follow them?”“Disciplinary action shouldn't be punitive. This summer I landed in a virtual workshop about gut health, and one of the sessions was on the vagus nerve. In today's episode of Transmit Safety, Aimee highlights the importance of clean and functioning washrooms at worksites for worker health and morale.Going to the washroom is something we all do, every single day. Therefore, having access to clean and functioning washrooms on-site might seem like a no-brainer. This is very often not the case. I have lost count of the number of sites I have been to where there either was no access to a washroom or the washroom was nasty.I have heard stories firsthand of women who don't go to the bathroom all day or of designated corners of worksites that men use as a toilet because there is no on-site access to a washroom. This is not only demeaning but it also leads to a whole host of health concerns. In this episode, you'll learn:Inclusivity in washroomsThe impact of washrooms on worker moraleClean and functioning washrooms relate directly to worker healthWashroom design should be included in the pre-job planning phase and budget of a project3 of the most important features of a washroom - accessibility, hygiene, and privacyThe need for education and needs assessments around washroomsThe Transmit Safety Podcast is here to help health and safety practitioners achieve a holistic approach to workplace health and safety so they can become impactful leaders and put the value of safety into action. These health issues can be uncomfortable, painful, and can increase their amount of sick days.”Connect with Aimee ArsenaultAimee Arsenault is a CRSP and CHSC. Thank you for listening. You can support our work by upgrading to a premium subscription. KNIGHT SHIFT – A Gnome's Tale Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there was a gnome named Belcher. He was unlike any other gnome in the land. Belcher was a fierce warrior with a burly beard and a love for adventure. One day, he was squired to a knight named Sir Reginald, who was known for his bravery and gallantry. Belcher and Sir Reginald were tasked with hunting down a ferocious dragon that was causing chaos in the nearby villages. They set out on their journey, with Sir Reginald leading the way, and Belcher following close behind. As they trekked through the forest, Belcher noticed that Sir Reginald seemed more interested in boasting about his past conquests than actually fighting the dragon. But Belcher wasn't too worried. He knew he was more than capable of taking down the beast himself. Eventually, they reached the dragon's lair. Sir Reginald drew his sword and prepared to charge, but Belcher pushed him aside and said, "I've got this." And with that, he charged into battle. Belcher fought bravely, dodging flames and slashing at the dragon with his sword. Sir Reginald just stood back and watched, looking quite impressed. But the real hero was Belcher, who landed the final blow and slayed the dragon. When they returned to the kingdom, the people cheered and praised Sir Reginald for his bravery. He basked in the glory, soaking up all of the attention. But Belcher knew the truth. He had done all of the work and fighting, and Sir Reginald had just stood by and watched. So, he decided to play a little prank on Sir Reginald. The next time they were in front of a large crowd, Belcher stepped forward and said, "I'd just like to take a moment to give credit where credit is due. Sir Reginald was absolutely brilliant in this battle. He managed to keep his eyes open the whole time, and he didn't trip over any rocks. It was really quite impressive." Sir Reginald looked confused, but the crowd laughed and cheered. Belcher had outsmarted him and made him look like a fool. From that day forward, Sir Reginald was known as the knight who didn't do much, and Belcher became a legend in his own right. And so, Belcher and Sir Reginald continued on their adventures, with Belcher doing all of the work and fighting, and Sir Reginald getting all of the credit. But that was okay with Belcher. He knew the truth, and that was all that mattered to him. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/chris6439/support

Fellow alumni we are back discussing Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 1 "Meet The Family". We chat all about the return of our favourite unlikely family and meet the new Sparrow Academy. Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 1 Podcast "Meet The Family" Details Episode Directed by Jeremy Webb Teleplay for this episode written by Steve Blackman and Michelle Lovretta After averting doomsday in Dallas, the Umbrella siblings return to a very different academy, now ruled by the powerful and hostile Sparrows, masters of both dance and combat, in an altered timeline. It is revealed that after their encounter in Dallas in 1963, Sir Reginald chose not to adopt Luther, Diego, Alisson, Vanya, Klaus and Five but seven other children instead, including Ben, Marcus, Fei, Alphonso, Sloane, Jayme and Christopher (the cube), and established "The Sparrow Academy". When both families meet for the first time at the Academy, an imaginary dance off in Diego's mind, induced by venom from Jayme (No 6) turns into a fight, and a ball of energy forms in the basement of the Sparrow Academy. Upstairs in the ensuing fight the Umbrella siblings are overpowered until Vanya unleashes a burst of energy to defeat the Sparrows. The Umbrella siblings flee to the Hotel Obsidian and plan their next move, but inadvertently leave the time travel briefcase at the Academy. Vanya goes to make a deal with the Sparrow Number One, Marcus, who agrees to hand back the briefcase in exchange for the Umbrella Academy siblings leaving with no more trouble. This meeting is observed by Ben and the Sparrow Number Three, Fei. Diego discovers he and Lila have a young son, Stanley, and must make up for his 12-years of absence as Lila leaves Stan with him and heads to Berlin. Elsewhere, an older man named Lester Pocket packs his suitcase and sets out for an unknown destination. When Marcus goes to get the briefcase, he discovers the ball of energy or Kugelblitz, a time anomaly caused by the crossing timelines, and is disintegrated. After witnessing this act of power, Grace, who now works as the Sparrows' maid, begins worshiping the Kugelblitz as her god. Shaw Frank and John are excited to talk about the original series on Netflix: The Umbrella Academy. Frank gives a very brief run down on the plot. Then Frank goes over each of the major characters and the actors that play them, while John and he discuss performances, who their favorites are and the various powers the characters have. The guys then talk about how the characters interact with each other: Allison reaching out to Vanya. Luthor and Diego's rivalry. Klaus and Diego's relationship, which is odd given their personality conflict. Klaus and Ben's relationship, given that Ben is dead and only Klaus can talk to him, but only if he's nearly sober (or completely sober). How Number Five views the rest of the group as being naive and rather stupid while he goes about his task in trying to prevent the impending Apocalypse. Then they discuss how Hazel and Cha-Cha show one dynamic of every workplace: The jaded lifer versus the enthusiastic lifer. They then discuss the ending in a bit more depth, including the other siblings treatment of Vanya after they discover her powers. Frank and John hypothesis how much of the future Sir Reginald may have known, as he committed suicide in order to bring the academy back together. As well as how their reunion led directly to the Apocalypse. It's onto themes, very briefly, including the family dynamic, and changing the future or the out come of the future. There's a lot going on with the themes with this series, and the guys don't even scratch the surface this episode. She relates that there have been an inordinate number of rats that have been hanging around and that their behavior is strange. It’s almost as if they have been ensorcelled. Spritle eagerly asks if she can point to their location on his map. Sled asks if she would like to join the party but when she finds out that they will be hunting rats she flatly refuses. The guys turn in for the night. Around 4 bells Sled, Diro and Njorvold are awaken by skritching noises and spy rats heading down the alley near the tavern. Njorvold declines to investigate but Sled wakes Kyrixes and along with Diro they head out to investigate. They track the rats to a sewer grate behind the butchers shop and decide that discretion is the better part of valor and wait to return in the morning. One the way back Diro decides to mess with Sled and disguises himself as a woman. Much hilarity ensues. In the morning after breakfast the group takes Sir Reginald over to the temple of Bahamut to see what can be done for him. They agree to take him in. Next stop on the whirlwind tour in the municipal offices to see Spritle’s contact Marcus. Marcus explains the situation with the rats. Armed with the new information Spritle sits with his notes to try and come up with a plan. As they are making their way through the market, a familiar figure exits a shady looking building and transforms into a giant rat. Sled’s brother Ned has returned. Realizing that they will need silver to defeat their potential foes the Brotherhood of the Honest Coin goes on a shopping spree and lucky for them silvered weapons are on sale today. www.birdscoffeecompany.com/ Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order! https://beta.podchaser.com/ Use code legendsoftabletop for access and consider leaving us a review Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/

Kyrixes Goldenflame – John Spritle Chudforth – Dan Njorvold Anvilesmite – James Graavor Corgretor - Burt Diro Kalamire – Gabe Sled - Aaron DM – Vince Sled picks up the ring and puts it on. The rest of the party begins debating on what to do with Tal. Sled quickly becoming bored, shoots Tal with his crossbow and Njorvold steps in front of him to protect Tal. More debating ensues and in the confusion Sled assassinates Tal and Spritle then knocks Sled out. Njorvold takes the ring from Sled and gives it to Graavor and takes the ring of teleportation from the body of Tal. They try and figure out what to do with Sled. When he wakes up Kyrixes tries talking to him and Sled just blows him off as if nothing happened. Further investigation of the room reveals a discolored tile on the floor. When it’s opened a rancid stench wafts up from below. Sled in his impertinence, dumps Tal’s body down the hole. The group decides to rest here before continuing below. The hole leads down about 100 feet and at the bottom is a bronze banded door that upon closer inspection is revealed to be trapped both magically and physically. The team of Spritle, Sled and Diro are able to safely disarm the traps and open the door. The floor beyond the door is also trapped so the party asks Sir Reginald to traverse the hallway and look for a switch. As they assumed, the trap was set for living bodies and Sir Reginald was able to pass unmolested. Reginald finds the switch and turns off the trap only to find the portcullis firmly sealed with no visible means to raise it. The quick thinking Spritle uses his mage hand and a mirror and finds the switch on the inside wall facing away from them. In the next room is a sigil on the floor that Diro determines is a blade trap. The party hugs the walls down either side moving forward. As Sled begins looting electrum pieces from a broken urn large tentacles lash out from a large crack in the floor. The tentacles are quickly dispatched and moving forward they party finds themselves in a small room with a fountain. The fountain has what appears to be a small boat in it. Diro, using his arcane abilities, determines that the water and the boat are magical. The always impatient Sled sticks his face in the water and takes a drink. His vision becomes blurry and he sees the spirit forms of his companions. He is able to ask the spirits a question that they have to answer truthfully. Kyrixes grabs the boat and passes it to Diro who realizes it is a magical folding boat. He neglects to tell the rest of the Brotherhood about it and surreptitiously says the command word to fold the boat and sticks it in his pocket. www.birdscoffeecompany.com/ Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order! Kyrixes Goldenflame – John Spritle Chudforth – Dan Njorvold Anvilesmite – James Graavor Corgretor - Burt Diro Kalamire – Gabe Sled - Aaron DM – Vince After defeating the skeleton guardians, the party takes a breather. Diro investigates both the frozen area and the sigil on the floor. The sigil is of the deity Zehir and it appears to be non magical. Spritle conjures a fire bolt but it doesn't do anything to the frozen force field. Making little headway Diro goes outside the box and casts destroy water and the frozen area shatters in slow motion, slowly reforming. Just then Spritle remembers that the skeletal guards were standing in the area and asks Sir Reginald to try and traversal the magical trap, which he does successfully. Diro shatters the ice again and Graavor runs through to assist Sir Reginald in lifting the portcullis on the other side of the magic field. Once the rest of the party is safely across, they head down the a set of stairs that lead further into the temple. When they reach the bottom, the undead guards on this level spring to life attempting to bar their passage. The Brotherhood is able to quickly dispatch the skeletons and begin to investigate. Two iron doors seem to be sealed by powerful magics and carry and electric charge. With no other option they continue down. Sled thinks he sees a statue and shoots an arrow at it. At that point the voice of Tal Orvas echoes in the room. Battle is once again enjoined. Will the Brotherhood of the (mostly) Honest Coin prevail..........? www.birdscoffeecompany.com/ Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order! Kyrixes Goldenflame – John Spritle Chudforth – Dan Njorvold Anvilesmite – James Diro Kalamire – Gabe Graavor Corgretor - Burt Sled - Aaron DM – Vince The newly incorporated adventuring party, The Brotherhood of the Honest Coin, head over to talk with Spritle’s boss, Mr. Cobblepot. He was able to secure the warehouse and presents the party with the deed. Unfortunately they won’t be moving in right away, as pressing business will be taking them to Neverwinter it seems. Mr. Cobblepot has tasked the Brotherhood with mapping the sewers of Neverwinter, looking into information pertaining to the Dead Rat gang and if feasible, eliminating them. With a sizable advance in hand, the guys make their way back to the Sunburnt Frog for one last night before setting out. While enjoying their downtime, someone notices a tiefling giving them the hairy eyeball. Sled, not known for his subtlety, heads over to find out who he is. It turns out that Grayvor is also heading down to Neverwinter and offers his assistance to the party if they would help him with a task of his own. (achievement unlocked-sidequest) Diro is able to pull a few strings and secures passage for the party on a boat helmed by Captain Marcus. What he fails to tell everyone is that they are expected to work during the trip. Spritle enthusiastically takes to the task. The journey is expected to take about a week but storms hold them up for two days as they sit at anchor in a small lagoon. Upon arriving in Neverwinter the party meets with Spritle’s contact and then rent horses and set off to hunt for Grayvor’s ring. As night begins to fall they stop to make camp and then Sled, Spritle and Grayvor head off to do a little reconnaissance. While making their way through the forest, a voice calls out for help. Moving closer to investigate they find a skeleton in ancient armor who seems to be trapped in the roots of a large tree that fell over in the recent storm. After a quick powwow Sled agrees to help free him and the skeleton introduces himself as Sir Reginald, Paladin of Bahamut. Spritle takes him back to the camp to meet the others. Closer inspection of the area reveals an opening in a small dell, leading underground. Sled stays on overwatch and Grayvor heads back to camp to get the rest of the party so that they can move the camp into the dell. While he’s waiting for the party, Sled investigates further and sees that there are two shattered doors at the cave entrance. It appears that the doors were recently broken down and in cavern is the faint sound of moaning. Planning ahead, Sled pours oils all over the entrance, creating a fiery trap for anything that makes its way out. After the party reunites in the dell, it’s decided to move forward and begin exploring the cave. Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/

Never let it be said that Radio Free Skaro digresses or makes up its own back story for the classic series episodes that we commentate on...because that's precisely what we do, especially in Day of the Daleks, our latest butchery of the works of Jon Pertwee. Not a bad story overall, enhanced by our analysis of Jo's mental state (lukewarm), the secret life of Sir Reginald (tawdry) and the gaseous state of Chris's belly.
