Hey friends + welcome to what will actually be the last conversation episode for the spring of 2025 + part 1 of what will now be a 2-part season of the Your Brand of Beautiful Podcast. This is a little bit of a change of plans but don't worry, more updates on a solo-episode coming your way next week! This week, we're chatting about a true underdog story with author, Mary Marantz. For those who don't know her, Mary's story is something special. She grew up in a West Virginia mountainside trailer + ended up being the first in her family to go to college — which just so happened to be Yale Law. Today we're talking all about her story + the books she's written about it — including her newest, ‘Underestimated' that comes out a WEEK FROM TODAY (pre-order details below). In our conversation Mary is very poetically painting the picture of her life, including... How the dirt floor of her upbringing + the roots she thought would keep her chained to where she was forever, became the very thing that would open the door to Yale law. Why Slow Growth = Strong Roots is her life's mantra (also the title of her second book). How her new book, Underestimated, uncoverss that fear holds a lot of names (like Perfectionism, Procrastination, People Pleasing, Impostor Syndrome, Overthinking… 14 in total) -- including a deep dive on perfectionism in this conversation! I just know this conversation is for someone out there listening and I can't wait for you to dive in. You'll have to tell me what you think! About Mary Marantz: Mary Marantz grew up in a trailer in rural West Virginia. The first of her immediate family to go to college, she went on to earn a master's degree in moral philosophy and a law degree from Yale. After ditching six-figure-salary law firm offers in London and New York and starting a business with her husband, Justin, together they have built their online education platform for creative entrepreneurs. Mary is a popular writer and speaker whose work has recently been featured by Business Insider, MSN, Bustle, and Brit+Co. And she is also the host of the iTunes Top 200 podcast, The Mary Marantz Show. She lives in an 1880s fixer-upper by the sea in New Haven, Connecticut with Justin and their two very fluffy golden retrievers, Goodspeed & Atticus. Hey friends + welcome to another episode on the Your Brand of Beautiful Podcast! In case you're new, this is the podcast where we chat with women who have created their own unique version of a beautiful life, in hopes that their stories, life experiences, or insider tips might inspire others to do the same. This week, I got the chance to chat with Madeleine Raiford Holland about going from a Kitchen Table Breaking Point to a 7-Figure Family. Madeleine is the founder + CEO of MHM Luxury Properties, a 7 figure boutique Short Term Rental company. She's also the founder & CEO of MRH Education with a thriving community she helps to build their STR business empires. If you're anything like me, stories about women who hit their breaking point + decide to do something about it intrigues you. And also, the idea of investing in short term or vacation rental properties piques your interest! If so, you'll want to listen to this episode. Madeleine is sharing about the very moment everything changed for her: sitting at her kitchen table, after a hard week, with a 6 month old baby + a husband who was equally as filled with exhaustion as she was. Then, how from that moment, she got to where she is today -- owning 16+ properties + a 7-figure investment STR company. Madeleine also shares… About times when she flopped or struggled getting started in business. How to tell if you're a right fit for the STR biz + if it's a right fit for you. And how becoming big givers was a huge turning point in she + her husband's business. I hope you love this conversation and learn from it the way I did! Whether you're a college student walking to class aspiring to be an entrepreneur, a mama-preneur pushing a stroller while working from her phone, or a family wondering what it's like to operate fully in the entrepreneurial space and go into business with your spouse, this episode is for you. Welcome to another episode of the Your Brand of Beautiful Podcast — the place where we chat with women who have created their own unique version of a beautiful life, in hopes that their story might inspire others to do the same. This week, you're in for a real raw, candid conversation with Lindsey Epperly! If you're a listener from back when I owned a travel company, you might already know who Lindsey Epperly is… but if you're unfamiliar, she is the founder and Chairwoman of Jetset World Travel, a travel agency she grew from a one-woman operation into a team of 100. Lindsey was a mentor of mine, and someone who I deeply admire. And not just because of her fancy titles like earning two consecutive spots on the Inc. 5000 List of fastest-growing companies or being named to the Forbes Next 1000 List, but because she's a servant leader, a mamaprenuer, and a champion of anyone in the small business space. In our very candid chat today we're covering a lot of ground: from serendipity in life, sacrifice in business, and the false summits that as Lindsey put it, are sometimes what shows us what we're truly meant for. In this conversation we're chatting about: The way health issues manifest in our body during times of stress or sacrifice How motherhood shapes growth and evolution of entrepreneurship as women in business And how to know if it's time to make a transition in life, career, business, and more. My favorite part of this conversation (and what might be the cause of an emotional hangover) is when Lindsey — for the first time — shared with me her side of the story, as my mentor, when I decided to sell my travel company. Tune in and get ready to take notes from my friend, Lindsey Epperly! There is this universal truth that — no matter who you are, what you believe, or where you came from — no one experiences life without grief. Not even Mattie Jackson, daughter of country music icon, Alan Jackson, and now best-selling author, speaker, and podcaster. In September of 2018, Mattie became a widow at age 28 when she tragically and very suddenly lost her husband, Ben. Since then, she has used her work and her platform to share her grief, her healing, and her unshakeable faith with women and men across the country. Today, you're going to hear our conversation about walking Through The Valley of Grief, which is the title of her new 365 day devotional of Spiritual practices for hope in suffering. You'll hear us discuss things like: Motherhood and parenting journeys (from Mattie's family's humble beginnings and her mom's profound impact on her life, to Mattie's motherhood journey and what parts of her parent's parenting she plans to implement into her own family). The 4 spiritual practices to take you from broken and resentful to a restored relationship with and trust in God: Wail, Connect, Worship and then Hope (my personal favorite part here is the way Mattie describes How helplessness of realizing you're not in control after tragedy eventually, evolves to freedom). How to find and choose joy — and the indescribable happiness we can look for and even expect to find on the other side of the valley of grief… Mattie is salt of the earth and as humble as they come. I was touched while having this conversation with her, and I hope you have the same experience listening back to it! About Mattie Jackson-Smith: Mattie Jackson is a best-selling author, speaker, and podcaster with a degree in creative writing from the University of Tennessee. Tragically, she lost her husband of less than a year, Ben Selecman, in September 2018 after he suffered a traumatic brain injury while on vacation in Florida. Despite her grief, Mattie is pushing forward and has dedicated herself to helping others through her writing and podcast, In Joy Life with Mattie Jackson. Mattie is also the co-founder of philanthropic organization "NaSHEville,” which supports groups serving orphans, widows, and trafficked women. Mattie lives with her husband and son in Nashville, TN. What Happens After Charting: Achieving a spot on the Apple Podcast charts can lead to increased visibility, more downloads, and higher engagement. However, the impact varies; some shows experience significant growth, while others may see more modest results. Personal Experience with Charting: Eric shared that his show saw a substantial spike in downloads when it ranked on the charts, with a significant increase in followers and overall engagement. Sustainability of Growth: While the initial spike in downloads from charting may taper off, the boost in followers can help maintain a higher baseline of downloads for future episodes. Importance of Social Proof: Charting can serve as valuable social proof, making your show more appealing to potential sponsors and new listeners. Long-Term Benefits: Even after falling off the charts, the followers gained during the peak can continue to support the show's growth and engagement. Strategy Beyond Podcasting: Expanding into SEO and writing content related to your podcast episodes can help drive more traffic to your website and increase podcast discoverability. Three big things you need to know: First, 4Q23 reporting season stats are similar to what we've described over the past few weeks with fewer earnings beats than last quarter, muted stock price reactions following earnings prints, and further compression in the forecasted growth rate embedded in consensus earnings expectations for 2024. Second, in our review of last week's S&P 500 earnings calls the tone was mixed on the macro, negative on China, and had a positive tilt on the consumer.Third, two of the charts in focus in our Europe/UK meetings last week included our chart showing how the earnings dominance of the top 7 names in the S&P 500 is fading (which may help spark leadership rotation down the road) and our chart showing how net bullishness on the AAII survey may be heading for a 2-standard deviation event (delaying the pullback we have been anticipating).

On this episode, Akira makes his long awaited return to the pod, and joins Ryan, Daniel, Carter, and Evan to speak on all of the odd news topics this week. The boys begin by sharing their Spotify Wrapped/Apple Music Stats, and what surprised them about their lists. This leads to a review of the Top Charts for Spotify, and the guys break down some of the hit albums from this year, including projects from Bad Bunny, Drake, and Olivia Rodrigo. The boys speak on the implementation of "lethal robot police officers", New Yorkers using fakes leaves to avoid freeway tolls, and Pete Davidson's newest relationship. This week, the guys draft the best things that are the color blue, so tune in for a hilarious draft with questionable (and sometimes great) picks, and lots of debating. The guys wrap up with music they've been listening to, and Ryan gives an album review of Saweetie's new project, which infamously failed to sell over 2,000 units first week. On one of our best episodes yet, the guys express their gratitude to our audience, and review their first year in the podcast game.SHOP ALL FRESHLY BAKED MERCH BY DIRECT MESSAGING @freshlybakedpod ON INSTAGRAM!SHOP WITH KAZEL CLOTHING @kazel.sf AND GET 10% OFF ALL PRODUCTS USING CODE “RYAN”!Follow the Pod on Instagram: @freshlybakedpod, TikTok: @freshlybakedpodcast, Subscribe on YouTube!Hosts: @ryanyee55 @nikhillgodbole @shubert_eli @datboidandan @evan_arriaga @carterbuiContributions from: @___tart @ruddin @erinroddy @briibingham @joe.degeorgeo @lizziegordonn @benjaminricee @marcmeup @jackiekranMixed and Mastered by @machatpapi @akira_eernisse @elijah.shapiroFor all business inquires, contact Sasha Moscona (sashamoscona@gmail.com & @sashamoscona)

From my experience, it's a lot of work to try to incorporate greens in your daily diet or even try to juice everyday. I also never know if I'm really consuming the proper amount of vitamins and minerals that I am supposed to be getting. There seems to be an easier way to get your greens without the hassle of chopping and cleaning up a lot of fruits and vegetables, and this is when 8Greens caught my attention. I chat with Lady Dawn Russell, who is a health leader, entrepreneur, wife, mother and cancer survivor. She is also the co-founder of 8Greens. 8Greens is the easy, tasty way to get your greens. It's not meant to replace a healthy diet but to help you with getting real greens into your body. In this episode we talk about what 8Greens is aiming to solve, how Dawn created the world's first green products with her lollipop, tablets, and gummies, what some of the health, wellness, and nutrition trends are right now, and where she thinks the industry is going, and so much more.Disclaimer: This podcast is not to be used as medical advice to treat any medical condition in either yourself or others, including but not limited to patients that you are treating.
