Emily Ratajkowski just got the worst haircut of her life—her words, not ours—but somehow turned it into a genius Kérastase ad. We had thoughts, so naturally, we had to kick off this week's Uncensored ep by dissecting the whole thing. Then, in honour of 25 Years of Adore Beauty, we’re revealing the three best-selling, most iconic products of all time—and trust us, the results might surprise you. We also sat down with the woman who started it all: Kate Morris, co-founder of Adore Beauty. From launching Australia’s first online beauty retailer at just 21 to shaping how we shop for beauty today, Kate has seen (and tried) it all. She spills on the products currently taking up prime real estate on her shelf and takes us on a nostalgic trip down memory lane—including the story behind the iconic Adore Beauty Tim Tam. And finally, do your nails really need a break? We dive into the debate and share our best advice (and product picks) for this week's Beauty IQ Hotline. This is the tell all episode on how YOU can get Jennifer Aniston's body.Spoiler, it's actually not the hot tips and secret advice you're thinking. It's actually pretty standard, boring, fitness advice. "I drink a lot of water, move my body daily, try to eat whole, fresh foods, and get as much sleep as I can." - Jennifer Aniston, People MagazineWOAH earth shattering stuff. Am I right? Props to her, though, for not using her platform to tout some unattainable regimen and keeping it realistic. Look, wanting to look like a stunning celebrity, I get it. But wanting nutrition, fitness, and beauty advice from a naturally beautiful person…well it's kind of ironic, to say the least. (Please hear my plea to get THE Timothy Caulfield, who's an advocate for this school of thought, on the show!!)Here's the thing…You are you! The only one. Your body is the only one of its kind to have ever existed!!! Why would you wanna trade it for someone else's????Because no matter how great you are at Jen's 4 basic tips for her hot bod….you'll never have HER hot bod. After years of requests to create camera-ready, detail-oriented, clean graphic, and bold eye looks, Masecchia dreamed of creating his own collection of quick-application face appliqués that gave the same instant gratification as his love for false lashes and wigs. His dream finally came to fruition in 2020 when his life-long habit of doodling eyes started jumping off the pages and onto faces. [Although his client roster now consists of the highest-profile models, celebrities, and influencers, he believes that everyone deserves to feel confident and beautiful everyday]. As his following continues to grow, so did the demand to know how he achieves his sculptural and sultry looks on his clients. That led him to bridge his work as a makeup artist and digital creator to create a beauty line. Vittorio is the real deal! I had such a wonderful time talking to him and found out we had some things in common. In this interview Vittorio shares: -What is was like coming from a lineage of beauty pros -The pros and cons of working with celebrities -How he meticulously developed his line Vittorio Massechia Beauty -If MUA's should consider having a product line -How he keeps himself grounded and in good spirits -Plus all of the exciting things coming up for his brand This is definitely an interview you will enjoy because I know I did. Earlier this month, Jennifer Garner opened up to Harper's Bazaar about her best beauty advice stating, "My beauty advice is always the same. Look in the mirror less, obsess less, and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead. We all look at our faces more than people used to, and it doesn't do you any good."I DON'T agree! Katonya Breaux graces Hello Beauty to talk all sun protection, especially for melanin-rich skin. She is the mother to musician Frank Ocean, a meditator, who is wellness-focused, and the founder of Unsun Cosmetics.Katonya grew up with the belief that black people did not need sun protection. She learned from a dermatologist that the moles that she would see from the older women from her family were not genetic, but the direct result of sun damage. Shocked by this, she started her journey in searching for a safe sunblock that did not leave a white cast on her skin. Since the market was lacking sunscreens that were inclusive with her skin tone, and one that was free of chemical actives, Katonya created Unsun Cosmetics.Unsun Cosmetics is a natural skincare brand focusing in sun protection and beauty products for all skin shades and tones. It is clean and safe for the user and the environment. In this episode, she clarifies that a higher SPF number does not mean a great higher amount of protection. The gap between an SPF 30 and SPF 50 are so small that using an SPF 30 is perfectly okay. To illustrate, SPF 30 gives 97% protection and SPF 50 gives 98% protection.Trivia: Frank Ocean was the one who came up with the name "Unsun".FOLLOW UNSUN COSMETICSUnsun Cosmetic's InstagramUnsun Cosmetic's FacebookFOLLOW HELLO BEAUTYHello Beauty's InstagramHello Beauty's FacebookHello Beauty's YouTubeFOLLOW JOYCE PLATONJoyce Platon's Instagram

Hi everyone. I hope you're keeping safe, healthy, and hanging in there. Sending love your way and my thoughts are with you.-----I thought this "trend" was going to die down soon but we are still seeing recent posts about people doing The Fox Eye Trend on their social media. What is the Fox Eye Trend? Why is it racist? Marianne Mychaskiw discusses why The Fox Eye Trend is trash. Even after receiving negative attention from Asians, this trend is still circulating in social media. As Asians, specifically Pacific Islanders, it just triggered plenty of memories of bullies pulling their eyelids at us. Marianne is a beauty editor, freelance journalist, and brand copywriter for both digital and print where she covers topics about beauty, wellness, entertainment, lifestyle, and sex.In this episode, we define the difference between appropriation vs. appreciation, why Asian features are not a trend, and what solutions we can arrive at to help raise awareness about these racial issues. Our goal is to always come from a place of love and we strive to do our best to stay informed, do our research, keep learning, and continue the discussion. An LA native with natural brows of genetic gold, Nika was constantly teased during her childhood for her bushy brows. Now, she gets to give her clients the same level of brow envy! Nika's route to beauty was untraditional. Nika completed her esthetics training in June 2019 and obtained her California Esthetician license. Soon after, she apprenticed at Hairy Little Things where she learned the art of microblading. She worked her way towards becoming the senior artist as well as salon manager and has been featured in Fab Fit Fun magazine. In January 2020, Nika became certified in Lip Blush. Nika's approach is conservative and natural. She believes that building the best brows is a two-way effort and works together with her clients to achieve a shared brow goal. Her priority is to give clients the brows of their dreams! With lip blush, Nika focuses on balance, symmetry, and enhancing clients' lip shape and tint. Tune in today to hear more of Nika's technique as well as what you should look for when in need of a permanent makeup artist. Someone who is properly certified, qualified and had a great portfolio of healed results, just to name a few. What are some of these procedures you've had done? Any great result stories to share? Hi everyone. I hope you're keeping safe, healthy, and hanging in there. Sending love your way and my thoughts are with you.-----This week's Hello Beauty guest is Acaderma's CEO & Co-Founder, Dr. Shuting Hu. Dr. Hu is a post-doctoral researcher and scientist that developed Acaderma, a cosmeceutical brand that meets at the intersection of academic research and botanical skincare to find better solutions for healthy skin alternatives. Acaderma is a clean beauty brand that adopts a clean behavior from start to finish. What this means is that being clean to them is meaningful because they are mindful of how they develop their ingredients and other materials that ensure less pollution and waste to the environment. Their formulas are not only safe for people, but for the environment as well.It should be noted that She was awarded the prestigious 2013 Henry Maso Young Cosmetic Scientist Award for her research of “Activity and mechanism of natural resorcinol type phenolics from the twigs of Cudrania tricuspidata as skin whitening agents” by The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC). Dr. Hu's passion radiates as she talks about the careful development of her products. It takes her around 3 years to commercialize the ingredients and to scale up the technology! This shows how much importance is placed on research, study, and discovering novel ingredients to develop maximum efficacious products. Acaderma's Star Light Spot Corrector is my ultimate favorite (if I had to pick one, but I honestly am a fan and believer of her entire line!) because I have seen my dark spots noticeably decrease in size in just as quick as 3 days! As a scientist, she is able to bring her expertise to the brand as she knows what ingredients will work best together. I learned that it's enough to only use serums in your skincare regimen and that you can do away without using moisturizer! In this episode, we learn about one of their most special ingredient, the African Kinkeliba, which grows only in the West Africa Sub-Sahara region. She also talks about Acaderma's relationship with African local non-government organizations (NGOs) to provide educational opportunities and a platform with a social impact. Hi everyone. I hope you're keeping safe, healthy, and hanging in there. Sending love your way and my thoughts are with you.-----When you think about skincare, we all know that at the end of the day, we just want it to work. Plain and simple. This week's Hello Beauty guest is Huron's Founder and CEO, Matt Mullenax. Huron is a men's skincare brand that's jam-packed with high-performing and effective ingredients, that doesn't break the bank. Matt struggled with acne growing up and playing sports in high school and football during college didn't help his skin at all. As he was more exposed to premium products as a young adult, he finally saw a difference and improvement on his skin. This compelled him to create his own products that would be available to every guy (and even woman) at every age and every stage of their life. His background in both finance and brand side of the consumer industry helped launch Huron on July 29, 2019. In this episode, Matt shares his advice as a CEO during these interesting times, why it isn't taboo anymore for men to talk about skincare, why Huron is an A+ personal care brand that everyone can rely on, and so much more.
