It feels like the whole world has been on a rollercoaster ride lately, doesn't it? It's about to get even more exciting in Mike's opinion…We're entering a new realm of this Ai world that's changing the game for innovative, ambitious individuals and businesses across the globe. If you've been with Mike for a long time, you'll remember the early days of the internet when he launched Traffic Geyser. Well, it's like that… but on a whole OTHER level. And because of this whole new world, he has been on a serious hot streak with a BIG ONE on the line! So big, the fish are practically jumping into the boat on their own. We're talking on the scale of the invention of electricity BIG. Mike is as giddy as his 14-year-old self who just learned how to code!Since Dan and Mike recorded last, Mike has spoken and taught, Generative Ai For Executives and Entrepreneurs at Peter Diamandis' Abundance 360, trained Norman Lear at his home, (you wouldn't believe how a 101-year-old man wanted to know how Ai will affect humanity), and presented to Tony Robbins' private patrons. The billionaires are coming out of the woodwork, and they all want to know the same thing: “how to integrate this life-changing technology into their businesses.”Mike's not talking about just using Ai, but about learning how to communicate with it, and how to create the prompts that deliver exceptional results, FAST. They're building businesses, writing code, constructing websites, and generating content in record time.Imagine being able to type in a prompt and have a movie made — the script, the music, the dialogue, the actors, even special effects, all designed and executed by an Ai. Mike's 20-year-old son, Zak, and his friend, Elijah, have been experimenting with this at school and the results are extraordinary. There's much more to it than future filmmaking; it's about democratizing art and storytelling. It's an expansion of humor, a creative revolution. We're standing on the brink of something unimaginably massive.Mike can't wait for you to join them on this episode. Buckle up and get out your notepad because you're in for one hell of a ride.Key Takeaways (04:35) Mike's on a hot streak and fish are jumpin' in the boat (08:12) How Ai is reshaping film making (19:24) Living in a world of Deep Fakes (34:33) The world has changed, no one is in charge and the old systems are irrelevant (44:54) The problem with China and the dollar Additional Resources Do NOT miss this opportunity to download Mike's free Ai Superpower Accelerator Toolkit to Multiply Your Productivity 10x or More! A: Here's the key. I ask you a series of questions, and it really begins with, “If you and I were to meet three years from today, what would have happened personally and professionally for you to feel satisfied or happy with your progress?” Tweetable Takeaways from this Episode: “Think about you being a relationship away, not a complex funnel in a systematic way.” -Mike KoenigsClick To TweetTranscript (Note, this was transcribed using a transcription software and may not reflect the exact words used in the podcast) Tom Poland 00:10 Greetings, everyone, and a very warm welcome to another edition of Marketing the Invisible. My name is Tom Poland beaming out to you, as always, from little Castaways Beach in Queensland, Australia, joined by the inestimable Mike Koenigs. Mike, good day. Sir, a very warm welcome. Good to see you again after all these years! Where are you hanging out? Mike Koenigs 00:28 Beautiful San Diego and soon I will be living part-time in Baja, Mexico Tom Poland 00:33 Wow! Mike Koenigs 00:33 On the Baja side of Mexico, my wife and I are going to be building a home and studio down there. Tom Poland 00:39 Fan-dang-tastic! Well, a very warm welcome, and good to connect with you again. It's been a few years, as I said. For those of you who don't know Mike, you must have been living in a cave because he's kind of uber-famous on the internet. I was one of his clients many, many years ago with Traffic Geyser. And that, I guess, started the interaction. We met again a few years ago at a conference in San Diego. He's a dad and a husband of 20 years. I know family's very important to you, Mike. He's also a SuperConnector. The people who you don't know are, you know, probably not worth knowing. He is also a relationship creator. And he's a 30-year serial entrepreneur, founder of five businesses built from scratch, two public exits, which is quite a feat in and of itself. And he's written, man, a couple of books– 13, actually, bestsellers. So we are in the presence of greatness! Mike, our title today- you're gonna share with us, “You: A Category of One”. You're going to share with us how folks can be a category one in just seven minutes. Our time starts now, sir. Question number one is who is your ideal client? Mike Koenigs 01:39 Right, the perfect client is business to business, B2B business owners. They have to be founders, partners. And ideally, generally, they're $3 million to $50 million business owners of 45 and above, typically successful, a higher net worth. The bottom line is they have to have a history of execution, coachability. And I love folks who are Kolbe quickstarts. If you're not familiar with the Kolbe test, they're eight through 10. Basically, they're fast decision-makers. They're not long Factor Finders. If you don't know something and feel it and know what you want, you're probably not my type of person. Tom Poland 02:16 Right. Perfect! Thanks. So this way things actually get done and implemented and they get results. Tell us about the problem you solve. Question two, six minutes left. Mike Koenigs 02:25 Okay, usually, they are people who are frustrated business owners. They've reached a point where they know they've outgrown who they are, what they do, why they do it, who they do it for. And they also are struggling with the competition. They know they can monetize better, and oftentimes, know they're underselling to their market. Tom Poland 02:47 Perfect! Thank you, sir. So that leads us nicely into question three. Five and a half minutes left. Some of the symptoms that these high achievers are going to be experiencing? When they look around their life or their business, what are they going to be noticing that would give them a bit of a heads up that they need to talk with you? Mike Koenigs 03:02 Yeah. Very frequently what I find is there is a point of transition in their lives, meaning they've hit that dark night of the soul where they might not feel valued, and their sense of purpose has changed because they've hit a brass ring. And they're like, they've outgrown almost everything in their lives. And they're like, “What am I doing here? I want more impact. I want more purpose. I want more elegance. I want simplicity. I want to maybe have deeper and more meaningful relationships than a wide and shallow one?” Tom Poland 03:31 Wow! I can think of a few people. Not looking at anyone, in particular, myself in the mirror! Yeah. So, tell us about- question four, and we've got five minutes left. These are ambitious people. They're growth orientated. They are, you know, in life, they seek fulfillment. They seek expansion. They want to fulfill their potential. They want to expand it again. So they're going to be trying a lot of stuff before they find your solution. So what are some of the common mistakes that you see these folks have made before they start working with you? Mike Koenigs 04:01 I call it “stepping in cow pies”. And if you grew up on a farm, and if you step in cow pies, that means you're walking around in a cow pasture. And that means they start thinking that I have to haul my way through this and do it myself. And the people who are most successful have a history of being coached. They're shortcut-oriented. They value good advice. And instead of wasting a bunch of time trying to figure it out themselves, they realize that you have a “who” problem, not a “how” problem. And so folks who are like- as I say, “If you drive 50 miles to save a gallon, a nickel on a gallon of gasoline, you're doing the wrong thing, you know?” And so you've got to be in a position where you're like, “This is a huge problem. I want to transform my life and spend the rest of my life doing what I'm meant to do and have impact and purpose,” and like I say, “Elegance and freedom, life on my terms, not complexity.” Tom Poland 04:58 Right. I love that you've got a “who” problem, not a “how” problem. And your ideal clients recognize that. It's not about chasing the next shiny thing, it's about finding the person. Mike Koenigs 05:07 Right on! Tom Poland 05:08 Let's go to question five, and we've got three minutes left. What I'm after here is, kind of like a top tip. A valuable free action folks can take. It's not going to solve the whole problem, but it might start them a step down the road in the right direction. Mike Koenigs 05:22 Okay, I call this “the ambassador method”. But imagine this, if you think about who you want to be a hero to, that's your ideal, perfect customer. And those people most likely belong to affinity groups. And understanding who your ideal person is, what groups they belong to, who influences the owners and founders of the groups, but on the outside circle is an ambassador. So what I would like to say is, instead of thinking about what kind of funnel can I create, what kind of gig on, what kind of automation, you might be one story and one fantastic relationship away from having all the clients, all the customers you can ever manage for the rest of your professional career. Tom Poland 06:02 Wow! Mike Koenigs 06:03 Think about you being a relationship away, not a complex funnel in a systematic way. Tom Poland 06:08 Right. Amen to that! Thank you, sir. Question six, two minutes left, we're after a valuable free resource. Where can people go to find out more about this “ambassador” sort of thing? I think that's the best- Mike Koenigs 06:18 Yes, that's what I prepared today and thinking about this interview. So it's at PaidForLife.com/Ambassador. That's A-M-B-A-S-S-A-D-O-R. Go there, and there is a system that I outline in less than 20 minutes, how to think about the ambassador process, how to tell that story, and how to upgrade your operating system, your mental operating system, to think about elevating your personal category. You want to be a category of one and be unique and this is the mechanism and a way to get there. Tom Poland 06:53 Www.PaidFor, F-O-R, PaidForLife.com/Ambassador. Thanks for that, Mike. Question seven, and we've got 75 seconds left. What's the one question I should have asked you but didn't? Mike Koenigs 07:07 Alright, this is, “What is the most effective way to convert prospects into big-ticket clients and customers?” Tom Poland 07:17 I would love to hear the answer to that. And we've got 60 seconds, so take your time! Mike Koenigs 07:21 Okay, great! So here's the key. I ask you a series of questions, and it really begins with, “If you and I were to meet three years from today, what would have happened personally and professionally for you to feel satisfied or happy with your progress?” That is also known as “the Dan Sullivan question”. But when you listen to the answer, and you find out what's preventing you from getting there, what opportunities are you leaving on the table? And what are your superpowers? Where are your unique abilities? What the secret is to enrollment is to present a story, a movie, starring your prospect in that movie with you, your products and services as the guide to getting there. Tom Poland 08:01 Right. Mike Koenigs 08:01 And the whole idea is personalizing that experience so it feels like they're going on the journey with you as their Yoda or their Gandalf. Tom Poland 08:09 Perfect! Mike Koenigs 08:10 And that's the secret. Tom Poland o8:11 Mike Koenigs, thank you so much for your insights, your experience, and your time. Mike Koenigs 08:15 It's my pleasure, my friend. 2010 Annual Report Big Cat Rescue is more than just a place that provides permanent care for big cats. It is a movement; a change in the tide of human perceptions and is the combined effort of more than 50,000 supporters. If you are one of them, you are a Big Cat Rescuer and the following is the great work YOU did! If you haven't helped yet, you can do so now at the top right of the screen or here: http://bigcatrescue.org/donate.htm Big Cat Rescue's Mission Statement: Big Cat Rescue's dual mission is to provide the best home we can for the cats in our care and educate the public about the plight of these majestic animals, both in captivity and in the wild, to end abuse and avoid extinction. We are Caring for Cats and Ending the Trade Advances: With your help we are winning in the battle for compassion! Up until 2003 the number of requests for rescues we had to turn down due to lack of space or funds had roughly doubled each year, to 312 that year. We feared it would double again to over 500 in 2004. Instead, it has steadily declined since then thanks to the passage of a federal bill and several state bills that restrict the ownership of exotic cats. This year we “only” had to turn away 89 big cats who were unwanted by their owners. We offered to take all of the cats who were cougar size or smaller, if their owners would contract to never own another exotic cat, but they all refused. We just do not have enough Senior Keeper staff to take on more lions or tigers. By now everyone knows that communication and fundraising will be cell phone centric. On April 30, 2009 we added mobile phone number collection to our contact forms and promoted this new request with the Animal Lover's Dream Vacation Giveaway. Our winners said, “It was the most fun we've ever had!” Our new Intranet site established in January 2010 where all of our staff, volunteers, board and vet care professionals can interact and share information. This cloud based system was provided free via a Google grant and enables us to keep all of the sanctuary documents in a password protected cloud where Rescuers can log in and post their observations for the vet and can share photos, videos and stories with each other. Our cloud can be accessed via a dozen or more computers at the sanctuary, Rescuer's home computers, smart phones and iPads. Those who subscribe to the site, such as the CEO, President, Operations Manager and the Vets can see, in real time, as observations are posted about the cats. This insures that there are always many eyes on the look out for ways to enhance the cat care at Big Cat Rescue. Animal Care: By the end of this year, 77 of our 115 cats are over the age of 15. This is well beyond how long they are designed to live in the wild and much older than most zoo cats. This is a testament to the excellent animal care we provide, but we are dealing with many more age related illnesses and are losing more of our big cat friends every year. Cats who required extensive veterinary care in 2010 were Alachua Bob, Bagheera, Bellona, Catera, Cha Cha, Cloe, Crystal, Freckles, Hercules, India, King, Narla, Nirvana, Pretender, Purrfection, Sarmoti, Servie, Snorkel, Sophie, Takoma, Tonga and Windsong. These cats were moved so they would have new neighbors and surroundings for their own enrichment: Freckles, Indian Summer, Modnic, Narla. Nikita & Simba, Peaches, Precious, Reno, Sundari and Thing. Even though we offered to rescue the 19 lesser cats and 3 lions and tigers who were in need of rescue in 2010, Skip, Angelica and Midnight, Rain and Storm the bobcats, Servie the serval, Narla, Freddy and Sassyfrass the cougars were the only ones who ended up here. We found a rehabber for a bobcat in TN as well. The rest did not come here because the owners refused to contract with us to never own exotic cats again. Despite triple bypass heart surgery in August, Vern stayed busy this year with all of the maintenance issues and with these 32 cage improvements: Armani & Jade, Bailey & Moses, Bengali, Calvin, Cameron & Zabu, China & Khan, Crazy Bobcats, Despurrado, Diablo, Flavio, Freckles, Jefferson, Joseph & Sasha, King, Modnic, Nala, Natasha & Willow, Nikita, Nikita & Simba, Rambo, Rehab Bobcats, Sarmoti, TJ, Trick E and Windstar. On 3/18/10 we had another perfect USDA inspection. Education: Our website is primarily an educational tool and according to Alexa we are ranked 266,861 worldwide and 110,338 most visited website in the U.S. We have 458 other sites linking to us. We offer about 58 outreach and field trips per year and have committed to offering 12 of them for free each year to lower income schools, but have already given 25 such free tours this year and expect that demand will continue to rise with the cost of transportation. Even when we offer the tours for free, many schools cannot come because they cannot afford the $200.00 fee for their busses. Our Education Department began writing grant proposals to raise the money needed for the buses. Volunteer Committee Member, Sharyn Beach, was published at Encyclopedia Britannica with the best statement ever written about why breeding white tigers is Conserving a Lie. Our web site addresses local and global concerns about environment and has over 17,000 pages of information, movie clips, sounds, safe interactive online games with a conservation theme and photos. From 1/1/2008 until 9/9/2010 the site was visited 3,642,337 times, resulting in 8,197,155 page views. In any given week the visitors will be roughly 33% from 218 countries outside of the U.S. as you can see from this breakdown: United States 2,757,351, Poland 204,209, Canada 198,127, United Kingdom 127,246, Australia 40,618, India 24,496, Germany 17,428, Japan 13,023, France 11,017, Netherlands 9,593, Philippines 8,559, Singapore 8,545, Sweden 8,177, Italy 8,136, Brazil 8,024, Malaysia 7,793, Spain 7,779, New Zealand 7,740, Ireland 6,788, South Africa 6,697, Mexico 6,554, Belgium 5,994, Russia 5,986, Indonesia 5,627, Finland 5,364 and Turkey 5,248 to name a few. The information provided has helped wildlife rehabilitators identify animals and obtain proper care instruction, helped officials in smuggling cases to identify rare species of exotic cats being illegally traded and those are just a few of the ways that we know the site has had an impact this year. Big Cat Rescue has been in the press 694 times, in 31+ states including AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, GA, FL, HI, IO, IN, IL, KY, LA, MA, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, VA & WA and dozens of programs of national or international coverage or in countries other than the U.S. Legislation/Education: The steady increase in legislation banning private ownership represents recognition by our society that private ownership leads to massive abuse. Social values evolve. It took decades to ban slavery in England and for women to win the right to vote in America. Those ideas started out as “radical”, held by a small minority. Gradually more and more people understood and agreed until they became a part of our value system that we take for granted today. The same trend is happening with private ownership of exotics. Gradually more and more people are realizing that this simply leads to widespread abuse of these animals. The best evidence of this is the accelerating trend in state laws. Just since 2005 eight more states have passed some level of ban. Sweden, Austria, Costa Rica, India, Finland, Bolivia, Greece and Singapore have all banned or restricted the utilization of big cats in circuses-it's time for the U.S. & South Africa to do the same! Nationwide & Canada: Dade City's Wild Things acquired a white tiger cub from G.W. Exotics, a notorious Oklahoma breeder, that they are marketing to the hilt in order to make money off her as quickly as possible. To accomplish that they dragged her into PetSmart to drum up some business. Almost 900 advocates responded to our alert and wrote to PetSmart demanding an end to displays of exotics like this, knowing the bad message it sends. We're very pleased to share that PetSmart listened and immediately responded positively. According to corporate spokesperson Margie Wojciechowski at the Phoenix, AZ headquarters, she confirmed she had just come from a meeting and the company has “reinforced with our managers that no exotic pets are allowed on store premises. There will be no live display of exotic animals for events.” • FL Sept. 1, 2010: The Florida Wildlife Commission passes final rules on the keeping of wild animals. • FL June 23, 2010: Thanks to thousands of letters from Big Cat AdvoCats the Florida Wildlife Commission agreed to change the wording of their Nuisance Wildlife rules so that bobcats who are trapped as nuisance wildlife may not be killed, but rather must be released. While our 2,000+ letters asked that bobcats be removed from the list of nuisance wildlife we are still thankful that the FWC has decided to at least spare the life of bobcats who are trapped this way. We will continue to educate the FWC and the public as to why bobcats are so necessary to our ecosystem so that they may soon be removed from the list of animals that may be trapped. • FL June 23, 2010: Animal AdvoCats vs Animal Terrorists. The FWC agreed to ban the practice of “fox penning” which was a blood sport in 16 locations in FL where foxes, coyotes and bobcats would be trapped or purchased from trappers to be turned loose in fenced areas for the purpose of training hunting dogs. Packs of dogs would be turned loose in the pens and scored on how persistant they were in chasing the wildlife. The FWC had rules that required hiding places for the wildlife, but investigators found that the operators would often block the access to the safety areas so that the foxes, coyotes and bobcats could be cornered and ripped apart by the dogs for the amazement and betting opportunities of the dog owners. For the first time in the history of the FWC meetings that we have attended since 1993 there were more animal advocates than animal terrorists in the room to testify. 52 concerned citizens spoke up in favor of a ban while only 20 animal abusers / hunters spoke up in favor of continuing the blood sport as part of their “cultural heritage and God given right.” As more of these egregious practices are exposed we expect the number of main stream Americans who show up and speak up to increase. • FL June 3, 2010: Thanks to thousands of letters from Big Cat AdvoCats the legislature amended Florida Statutes 379.374 Bond required, amount. (2) No person, party, firm, association, or corporation shall possess or exhibit to the public either with or without charge or admission fee, any Class I wildlife, as defined in s. 379.303 and commission rule, without having first guaranteed financial responsibility, in the sum of $10,000, for any liability which may be incurred in the possession or exhibition to the public of Class I wildlife. The commission shall adopt, by rule, the methods of payment that satisfy the financial responsibility, which may include cash, the establishment of a trust fund, an irrevocable letter of credit, casualty insurance, a corporate guarantee, or any combination thereof, in the sum of $10,000 which shall be posted with the commission. In lieu of the $10,000 financial responsibility guarantee required in this subsection, the person, party, firm, association, or corporation has the option to maintain comprehensive general liability insurance, with minimum limits of $2 million per occurrence and $2 million annual aggregate, as shall protect the person, party, firm, association, or corporation from claims for damage for personal injury, including accidental death, as well as claims for property damage which may arise. Proof of such insurance shall be submitted to the commission. Effective July 1, 2010. In 2009 there were 111 Class I possessors in FL who managed to escape the bond requirement because they claimed they were not “exhibitors.” This new language was necessary to close the loophole in the 2007 law so that all “possessors” of Class I animals must post this minimal bond. • OH July 1, 2010: A deal struck between The Humane Society of the United States, Ohio agriculture leaders and Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will lead to major animal welfare improvements in Ohio on a raft of issues to protect exotic, domestic and farmed animals. The agreement includes recommendations from all of the parties for the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Care Board, the Legislature, and the Governor to ban the acquisition of dangerous exotic animals as pets, such as primates, bears, lions, tigers, large constricting and venomous snakes, crocodiles and alligators. • China October 27, 2010: The Ministry of Housing & Urban/Rural Development suggested in an official web posting that zoos should adequately feed and house animals, should stop selling wild animal products and serving wild animal parts in restaurants, and should stop staging circus-like trained animal acts. The authorities report that zoos could be shut down for non compliance. This is the first step toward permanent laws to protect the animals. • Germany June 17, 2010: The zoo director and three of the staff at the Magdeburg Zoo were convicted of cruelty to animals for killing three tiger cubs who were the result of a cross breeding tigers at the zoo. The zoo had bred a Siberian tiger to a Sumatran tiger. All of the tigers in the U.S. that are referred to as Bengal tigers are actually hybrids of Bengal and Siberian tigers as the result of the white tiger craze when Bengal tigers were inbred to the point of non existence in America. A fine of 8,000 euros was suspended upon the condition that the zoo not kill cubs as the result of their own improper breeding plans. The Magdeburg zoo case drew attention to the common practice of zoos breeding and killing animals to keep youngsters on exhibit. • Russia November 29, 2010: Russia is now filing a bill for an exotic pet ban like other countries have passed. Despite Prime Minister Vladimir Putin having a pet tiger named Mashenka, the country is working on passing a bill that would restrict the ownership of monkeys, tigers, and crocodiles, because of their danger to the public and diseases they can carry, according to the bill that was submitted on Nov. 29, 2010 Thanks to all of you who wrote letters, attended town hall meetings and met with your lawmakers, the world is a little kinder place. Many of the worst breeders, dealers and tiger-tamer-wanabees were finally shut down. Most of these collectors were fined or shut down by USDA or the state, or both in some cases: You can read the USDA reports and news stories at http://www.911AnimalAbuse.com 134,704 letters were sent via our CatLaws.com site in 2010 which is triple the year before. We now have 44,606 members registered to help us with email campaigns. Thanks to all of our supporters being more aware of exotic cat issues and doing something about it, the wild cats had a lot of wins in 2010. Only bans on the possession of private ownership of wild animals are fully enforceable but any step forward in restricting ownership is helpful. For more details go to BigCatBans. Animal Abusers Shut Down and / or Fined: Many of the worst breeders, dealers and tiger-tamer-wanabees were finally shut down. The following is from 2008- 2010. Most of these collectors were fined or shut down by USDA or the state, or both in some cases: • CA: Hesperia Zoo AKA Cinema Safari Zoo owned by Stephanie Taunton was put on probation and fined $30,000 by USDA. • FL: Horseshoe Creek owned by Darryl Atkinson was shut down by USDA and FL. • FL: Wild Things' land owned by Kathy Stearns went into foreclosure and bankruptcy. • FL: Amazing Exotics was shut down. It was notorious for allowing contact between large exotic cats and the public for a fee. The head of their tiger-tamer-wanabee program was Ron Holiday (real name Ron Guay) who gained fame in the HBO movie Cat Dancers and the book by the same name. His career in dancing with big cats ended when a white tiger he had raised from a cub killed his wife and his lover within a few days of each other in 1998. • FL: In 2010 Jeff and Barbara Harrod of Vanishing Species lost both their USDA and FWC licenses. • FL: In 2010 Thomas R. Cronin of the Shell Factory was sanctioned by USDA for improper handling of animals, poor sanitation and lack of vet care. • IN: Great Cats of Indiana, formerly known as Cougar Valley Farms, Inc., owned by Robert B. Craig and Laura Proper had their license revoked by USDA. • IN: Ervin's Jungle Wonders owned by Ervin Hall was shut down by USDA for a three year term. • KS: In 2010 Clint Perkins of Riverside Zoological Park lost his USDA license to exhibit tigers and was fined for violations. • MO: Wesa-A-Geh-Ya owned by Sandra Smith was shut down after a visitor lost his leg to a tiger. • MS: Cougar Haven closed its doors for good, sending the last 3 big cats to Big Cat Rescue. • NC: Metrolino Wildlife Park owned by Steven Macaluso was shut down by USDA. • NE: Zoo Nebraska was ordered to find appropriate homes for their big cats and bears. • OH: Pearson's L & L Exotics owned by Lorenzo Pearson was shut down by USDA following six years of violations. • SC: In 2010 Robert Childress dba Quality Equipment was fined by USDA for lack of care for tigers. • TX: Zoo Dynamics, owned by Marcus Cook was fined $100,000.00 • TX: In 2010 Jamie Palazzo of Great Cat Adventures had their USDA license suspended for 3 years. • TX: Wild Animal Orphanage closed their doors in September 2010 after investigation the Attorney General for fraudulent fundraising practices. 363 animals, mostly big cats and primates, are being disbursed to other sanctuaries. Three of the tigers are coming to Big Cat Rescue. • Australia: Craig Bush, the “Lion Man” was ousted from the Zion Wildlife Gardens by his mom. Fundraising and Marketing: Two Legacy Society donations over $100,000 each helped make this the best financial year ever for the sanctuary. The first was a bequest from the estate of Terry Nordblom for $110,000. The second was a matching grant of $200,000 in memory of William and Lois Modglin of Glendale, California. Final financial numbers will not be available until after our annual audit in the spring, but estimates will be posted here in late January after we reconcile the December statements. 2010 began using Posterous.com to post to 16 of our major social networking sites at once. We currently operate 333 social networking sites. 2010 we began using Traffic Geyser which increased our web traffic 24%. The Fur Ball netted over $80,000.00! Over 650 big cat supporters had a blast at the Fur Ball; dining, dancing, playing the Wheel of Fur-Tune casino table and bidding in the silent auction and live auctions. Spirited bidders in the live auction won exotic trips see lions in South Africa, and many other wild and exotic places. We had 26,154 visitors this year. Saving Wild Places for Wild Cats Leonardo DiCaprio Protects Tigers: Big Cat Rescue continued working with the International Tiger Coalition, which is a group of 40+ organizations committed to saving the tiger, based upon our unique ability to address the captive issues that imperil tigers in the wild. The goal is 10,000 tigers in the wild in 10 years. There are less than 3,000 in the wild currently and we are losing one per day due to poaching. We persuaded ITC to keep US tiger farming issue as part of their mission to eradicate because legalized trade puts even more pressure on wild populations. What makes this initiative unlike all of the past programs is two fold. 40+ major conservation groups, including Big Cat Rescue, have joined forces with one common goal: Save the tiger in the wild. There have been other joint efforts, but none this large and never before has an entity as powerful as the World Bank been a committed partner in saving wild places for wild animals. Big Cat Rescue sponsored the ITC booth at CITES and sponsored the attendance of the ITC Moderator, Judy Mills at the Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. Leonardo DiCaprio attended as well and met with Prime Minister Putin. DiCaprio donated 1 million dollars to WWF's fund for saving the tiger. 23 FL Panthers died in 2010 but 90 were born according to FWC. Big Cat Rescue is stepping up our support of local initiatives to save the Florida Panther. Helping Others: America's injured veterans have found Big Cat Rescue a place of tranquility where they can surround themselves with beauty and grace; a respite from all that they have endured protecting our country. It started with one group and now they come to visit quite frequently. It's on the house and we provide lunch when we can as well by asking donors to contribute. They have done their part in keeping Americans free and we are doing our part to fight for that same freedom for the big cats. Then and Now: Our CFO, Howard Baskin, compiled a ten year snapshot of the sanctuary and its growth. This is just a comparison between 1996 and 2010. Staff and Volunteer Training: We want to say a special thank you to all of our staff & volunteers who have just completed their 10th year of service to the cats. I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story. The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/ I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story. My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet. One of the biggest things that entrepreneurs and founders struggle with is VISION DELIVERY. You have a big idea that you can see from start to finish but when you go to your teams, you get bogged down because there's a fact finder that asks you so many questions you get lost. You realize that your mindsets are not in sync. You don't have a framework in mind… Just the VISION.We're going to talk about how to COMMUNICATE your big visions and actually get them executed. One of the things that we have always admired about Dan is that he's cranking out a minimum of four books a year. (It's actually closer to six or seven!) Today is an opportunity to get inside his head and ask the questions that everyone wants to know. He's managed to build an incredible team that executes his visions. Listen or watch on YouTube to find out how he communicates so those visions come to fruition.Dan's strategy starts with the client rather than his team. He says; “any idea you have, make sure to test it with your check writers first.” The only people who will know whether one of your ideas is good, are the people who would benefit from it and pay for it.He never tests out ideas on his team until he has a read from the check writers. He'll also conduct “workshops” where he'll put an idea on a screen and say, “I've got this idea I need feedback on. Does this mean anything to you?” Then a conversation starts and the moment it does, the idea starts to change and improve. This whole process is witnessed by his team so when he goes to them with the idea, it's already been market tested.Mike is a big believer in doing this as well. The way he implemented this is in the past (when he had Traffic Geyser and his subsequent businesses) was by doing three or four live events a year.At every one Mike rolled out a brand new idea or product and pitched it from the stage. The idea was, let him show the audience a new thinking tool, show them how he was using it, and then do it together. Then you incrementally bring the audience through and get their feedback. It's like having a real time focus group. One of the unique parts of Dan's company is that all of his team members, on a regular basis, come into contact with the customers and clients. He believes that when entrepreneurs are unhappy with their team members it's because there's a separation between the team and the company. The employees don't know what the company is for. They're doing all this work but they have no notion of what the work they do is for, who it's for or how it's used. They're ignorant and their ignorance makes them defensive. The only thing they know is that almost anything new can be a danger to their job.If an entrepreneur hasn't set up a situation where their team actually knows who the customers are, they're going to push back against new ideas because they don't know what the new ideas do for their job security. As a founder, part of your responsibility is to create the illusion of security and transfer certainty to your team.In addition, the company can't be as important to them as it is to YOU. In Dan's company, a lot of his employees love their jobs. He tries to work towards each team member's unique abilities, the same way he does with his clients but ultimately people do things for their reasons, not yours. It's not possible for your team to be as in love with the company as you are and it's unreasonable for you to expect them to, (unless you're giving them 50% of the money) they simply can't have the emotional commitment and it's unfair of you to even suggest that they should. We're very fortunate in the age that we currently live where entrepreneurs can literally custom design organizations for their own personal reasons and for the kind of creative games they can play with their customers and team members. 25 years ago this wasn't possible. The current rapid movement into the virtual world creates the possibility for enormous creative flexibility on how you construct an organization. About 50% of the character that your organization takes on is purely a function of who you are as an entrepreneur, and therefore you can't copy someone else's organization.Listen and Watch the whole episode to hear the rest of our conversation including our thoughts on big information companies like Facebook and they're suppressing innovation everywhere. Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, and Opera are just some names that create an emotional reaction, all because they started from nothing and through building their success, built a personal brand that is known worldwide. Now if they get involved in a project their name automatically elevates the status of that project. The truth about professional athletes is a lot of times they are only making money from one stream and this results in them having very little money after their professional carriers are over. The ones that escape this situation are the ones that leverage their personal brand and celebrity to transition into different markets and create multiple flows of income and attention. With attention shifting from TV and radio to podcast and radio audiences are getting more niche, you no longer need a massive following to generate business a small but engaged audience can be just as effective. When you are building an audience there are three main things to focus on, Market, Message, and Medium.Market: Who is your ideal client.Message: What do they need to hear to trust you, like you and feel comfortable doing business with you.Medium: What platform is your audience consuming content on, is it through a podcast, books or social media? Where are they consuming content or entertainment?Creating relationships with people that have a bigger audience than you and finding a way to add value to them and their audience will allow you an opportunity to expand your audience and create a win-win situation for both you and the influencer.A book is one of the best ways to build credibility with and deliver your message to your ideal client in a way that attracts them to you rather than you having to go out and try to find them. If you can find out what a “perfect dream come true” looks like to your client, it will give you the ability to answer their questions that they have before they come up and effectively communicate your product in a way that resonates with your ideal client. The biggest mistake that marketers make is that they try to project themselves all over their audience rather than finding out directly from a client what attracted them to the business in the first place and using that as the foundation of their marketing efforts moving forward. Giving people the sense and feeling that they belong to something greater than themselves is the value created by a personal brand. If you like what you're listening to, we would love it if you could give us a 5-star review! Click above to listen in iTunes... I LOVE video…. And traffic. I have over 200 videos on Youtube now and here's what I wish I'd known… Steve: Hey, everyone. This is Steve Larsen. Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio. Announcer: Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio where you'll learn marketing strategies to grow your online business using today's best internet sales funnels. Now, here's your host, Steve Larsen. Steve: All right, you guys. Hey, I'm super excited. I'm super pumped for today because we get to talk about something that has always intrigued me. It's actually kind of the way it got started in internet when I first started working for Paul Mitchel and driving internet traffic with one of my buddies. Since then I really haven't done much so I'm excited to welcome on to the podcast an expert in this area, thank you so much, Nick Arapkiles. How are you doing? Nick: I'm great, man. Thanks for having me on. Steve: Hey, thanks. I appreciate it. Thank you so much for coming on. I was just looking through Facebook messages before you and I got on here and I didn't realize I think you had asked if we could push the time back and I'm such a morning person, thanks for getting up this early to do this. Nick: Hey, no problem at all, man. I'm happy to do it. Like you said I'm not much of a morning person, but when someone like you gives me an opportunity like this I'm happy to get on. Steve: It's nice that you did, I appreciate it. For everyone listening, this really is probably the first time, I mean, this is the first time that we'd really spoken like this. The guy that connected us is Ben Wilson obviously. Ben is the guy. He and I we're doing that things, Paul Mitchel and several other companies just think the world of him. He sent me a message and he goes, "Dude, I got this awesome guy. He's the man." I think I still have the message just to put it on the podcast or something. It's pretty funny. He's like, "This sweet guy, man, he's this genius and he said he wants to come." "Hey, sweet." I'm always looking for talent, for people because I get boring for everyone I'm sure. I'm excited to have some mix out. Nick: It's kind of a funny story. I met him at an event here in Colorado and then I actually ran into him at the Rockies, in the baseball game. Then he messaged me about you and here we are. Steve: Dude, that's great. What event was it? Nick: It was actually for a book publishing event ironically ... Steve: He told me he's going to that. Okay, cool. That's fantastic. It's funny this whole internet marketing world, it's actually a lot smaller than people think it is because people get in it, they'll get out of it, they'll get in it but the people that stick around I don't think there's ... Anyways, get around quick. What is exactly that you're doing then? You told me that you're awesome with YouTube which is awesome. Most people forget you can even advertise there I feel like but what is it that you're doing? Nick: Basically, I've been doing this stuff for a lot. Do you want me to just go on to my story a little bit? Steve: Okay, man. Let's hear it. Nick: Okay, cool. I've actually been online for about six years now and two and a half of those first six years were complete and utter struggle. It's usually the case with a lot of people's stories. I don't think I'm too much different... Steve: Anyone who says otherwise I feel like they are just lying or throwing a sales video. Nick: Yeah, I mean, it sucked at the time. Obviously it sucked at the time not having, you always expect when you get started you're thinking you're going to make money in your first day, first week, first month at least but it was tough man, it really was. I forfeited a lot of things going on. I was actually in college at the time... It was the summer before my last year of college so all my friends were going out partying and going to pool parties, different stuff like that. I was just dedicated to this thing. I essentially locked myself in my room that whole summer and I was dedicated to making it work and I didn't even make it work that entire summer and even years after that. It just led me on this path I think once you get into this like you're essentially infected with the entrepreneurial bug as I like to call it. You can't really go back from that. I mean, I kept on trying different things. I even went into the trading Forex and stuff like that but eventually came back into the marketing realm and that's where I am now like you're asking I've done a lot of YouTube stuff. That's the big thing is I really always focus on driving traffic because if you can drive traffic then you have a business. You really can do anything, it depends on what traffic you're using. Most the time I promote different funnels like business opportunities or just affiliate programs... I haven't really dove into much of my own stuff. I just leverage other systems that people put out and that's pretty much what I'm doing but it all stems from driving traffic and then calling people from YouTube into my world. I like to really call it my world more so than my list. I think a lot of people say my list or build a list. That's great, obviously you need to build a list but I think it helps me come from a better mentality than it's I'm building a list of people or a list. It's more so I'm building an audience of people, they are in my world now. Because I think a lot of people secure a list and they just think of numbers and what it really comes down to is that these are people that are interested and they want to connect with you and they want to learn more. You have to treat them as such and I think when you do that you get a lot better results. Steve: Interesting. That's interesting. A lot of people I know will talk about, they'll have you fill out something. Who are you trying to attract? What's their likes? What's their dislikes? What do they hate? Sometimes I feel like that gets pretty artificial after a while. You're just targeting people like yourself. I feel like it's the easiest way to go... Nick: Yeah, to be honest I didn't express this fully but basically what I do right now is I don't actually do too much advertising where I'm paying for the clicks and stuff like that. It's mostly just all organic. I've done a little bit of advertising here and there but the big thing is just putting content up. I know you're asking if I could drop some nuggets for YouTube and stuff like that but the biggest thing is just to continually put out content just like any other type of platform whether that's Facebook, Instagram, even Snapchat now. It's just continually putting out content because the more content you have out there, the more likely people are going to find you... I mean, there are some videos that I have that have seven views but there's also other videos that have 100,000 views. You never really know exactly which videos are going to hit. You might have an idea depending on the keywords and how optimized your videos are but the biggest thing that I stress and every day I learn more and more, I'm always learning is the fact that you never really know exactly until you start putting up content which videos are really going to stick and gain some traction until you upload them. Steve: That's interesting you say that. Back in college also I started really, really diving into this also, same thing. I sucked at it. There's a guy I listen to and he was saying, "You should always be publishing. Try and get a way to be in front of your people. Produce content." Just exactly what you're saying. I started doing that and making all these Periscope videos and I would put the recordings on YouTube. I can't tell you how cool that was. Stuff started happening when I did that. The exact reason you're saying. I had some videos that were terrible but then others were completely surprising to me. People started watching them and pushing them around. What the heck is this? My products started getting sold organically. I was like, "This is kind of cool," I totally agree with that but I have to ask though, you're putting YouTube videos out. Try to put as many up as you can. How do you rank a YouTube video? It's hard to... these words for spiders to go crawl and stuff like that like a blog post. What are some strategies you use to actually try and get them out there? Nick: It almost feels like it's changed throughout the years, I think the algorithms and everything. I'm not that geeky like that but I just noticed some trends here and there. As of late, I've noticed that a bigger channel with more subscribers and just a little bit more authority, maybe it's been on for a little bit of while or a little while, those are the videos that's pushing up towards the top of the search engines. You can pull back links. I know that probably gets a little bit more complex. I don't know if you're familiar with back linking. Steve: 100%, yeah definitely. Nick: Okay, I just didn't know if your audience would or not but that's basically you can go out there and get some other people to put your video in a bunch of different places. The idea behind that is that the search engines see your video all over the place and they are like, "This must be a video that is good. Let's start pushing it up towards the top of the search engine." Especially a couple of years ago that was huge and it definitely got me a lot of results but the thing again that I've noticed lately is that just having a big channel and having some decent subscribers and having people actually watch majority of your video is what's really pushing your videos up. I've had some videos where I just started making videos and they don't get much traction at all but then I have one of my bigger channels and I just put it up and I don't really optimize it at all, I don't really do anything to it and right away it's like one of the first videos on the search engine. Steve: I hear of Traffic Geyser. Nick: Yeah the name sounds familiar. Steve: These sites where you just submit your video and they'll just blast it across the internet so that you could get more views. I mean, totally spam-my stuff, you know what I mean? It's the dream for every entrepreneur or internet guys to just put your stuff everywhere. What strategies do you use for finding people to put your videos up? You know what I mean? Did you have to find related channels to yourself? Nick: Not necessarily. I use a website called Fiverr a lot of the times or at least I used to. I haven't been using it as much lately but it's a really cool website. You're obviously familiar with it but I'll explain it for your audience. Basically, it's just a website. It's called fiverr.com, F-I-V-E-R-R dot com and basically it's a site that has a bunch of people doing a bunch of different gigs. They'll literally do anything for you for $5. I think there's a processing fee now for like 50 cents. Essentially people will do anything for you on the internet. I should be more specific with that. Steve: It's funny though because I've had people like, "Rap my name." I've had people, "Beat box stuff," they'll do anything for five bucks. Nick: Exactly, there's a lot of different stuff that you can do. Basically I just go on there and look for back links or maybe social signals and it's not to complicated. I mean, you just have to find someone with good rating, good track record and just test them out and that's the whole thing that I always tell people too is that you just have to test things out. You'll never really know what's working, what's not working until you go out there and actually apply it yourself... I think a lot of people are always asking me for the secret, asking me for different things that are just going to make it click and they're going to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. That's really never the case. You know this just as well as anybody is that you actually have to go out there and do the work, see what's working, see what's not working and then throw out the stuff that's not working and then just ramp up the stuff that is working... Steve: This is one of the reasons why I laugh so much when you brought up Fiverr because it started out as a great class. I'm sorry if anyone's listening that was in that class. It was like an SEO class in college and it started out great. We're learning all these cool strategies for SEO and things like that. Then it just got like the strategies were really old. I've been doing it long enough by that point that I just knew that what I was earning wasn't significant or anything. He's like, "Hey, what you're all going to go do is you got to go create a YouTube video and think about a topic a lot and the competition in the class to see whose video can get the most views." I was like, "I could totally game that." We went and we made this, you know that, "Do you even lift, bro?" Those videos that are out there right now, have you seen it though? Nick: I'm not sure. Steve: "Bro, do you even lift?" Nick: Okay, yeah. Steve: The next Star Wars is coming out and we said, "Do you even Jedi, bro?" We made all these funny videos of people. It was pretty cool but I totally went to Fiverr and I paid this dude $5 to send like 10,000 bot clicks. For no views at all to just this massive spike and we went and we gave the ending presentation stuff like that like we have over 10,000 clicks on this thing and everyone's like, "Oh my gosh, that's amazing." It's in the last few weeks and what's funny is that we ended up getting contacted right before the class ended by this ad agency. They were like, "Hey, we want to use your video to promote Star Wars stuff on." I was like, "Okay." None of them knew that this were like ... I'm sure that 50 of them were real clicks out of the ... Maybe. What's funny though is that obviously YouTube after a while can start to see if that's crap. The views on the bottom went from 0 to 10,000 to 12 and it stayed there. We're looking at the analytics for a while and then just totally drop. They took away all of them all the way back down to 3 views or something like that after the class was ended. Anyways, the only reason I bring that up is because A, it was a total failure and I knew what happened. I knew enough about that world that time but it was I mean, how do you go through Fiverr and figure out who's going to be sending you real clicks and not. You know what I mean or who's going to be pushing your video around the right way or not? Because most of it ... I like Fiverr for testing a lot of the lower level stuff but it sounds like you've got a cool way to do it that isn't that way. Nick: Yeah, that's actually a good point... I'm glad you brought that up because that's very important that you find good gigs because if you are sending a bunch of fake traffic to your YouTube videos it can get your video shut down and even your account shut down because YouTube will recognize that and they see that you're just throwing all these views on there and they are all fake. They don't like that. I've had the experience of getting a lot of my stuff shut down because of that in the early stages. Anyone listening, make sure that you're not sending crap gigs over to your videos because YouTube will shut that down real quick. In terms of finding good stuff, basically I just make sure that the vendor has a good track record. There's one specific guy that he's probably one of the bigger gigs. He's got so many different gigs on there. I'll just let you know his name is Crorkservice. Steve: Crorkservice, you know, I might actually seen him before. Nick: I'm sure you have. Honestly he's probably one of the best out there and he's got the best ratings. He's like the top of the top sellers... I mean, it's no hidden secret. You just have to go through his gigs and figure out what exactly it is that you want. If you are going to purchase views I really haven't done that in a long time. I know there are some people that do it and they do actually have success because again like I was saying before, if you can get high retention views where people are watching the majority of your video, that actually can really, really help you with ranking your video on YouTube in specifics. Just make sure that is a high retention view and again it has a good track record because that can definitely help with rankings on YouTube. Steve: Interesting, okay. What are you doing? I heard some people talk about we’ll give some formula or outline for what to make, what to put in the video to make sure that they’ll push pass minute seven or whatever it is. Do you have anything that you would recommend there? Nick: Yeah, for sure. There’s a couple of things. The first thing that you definitely need to know, basically how I get all my traffic for the most part is it’s all based on keywords. People come into the search engines and this is just like general in terms of search traffic. Basically people will come in, they’ll be searching for something, I mean you and I have done this just as much as anybody else is that they have a concern, they have an issue, they need help with something. They come into the search engines and they start typing it out whether that is how to lose weight, how to grow tomatoes. It doesn’t really matter, it just pertains to whatever your business is but they’ll start searching things in and then they’ll find your videos if you start uploading videos, you do it on a good channel, you start optimizing it. Your videos are going to start rising towards the top of the search engines. What you need to do when you’re making your videos is that you need to let your viewers know that they are at the right place. Let’s say for example that you did make a video about how to grow heirloom tomatoes for example. What you need to say in the beginning of the video, you need to let your viewer know that they’re in the right place at the right time. You say, “Hey, you probably landed on this video because you are looking, you started searching out how to grow heirloom tomatoes,” right then and there they know that they are at the right place. That's what starts it out and then if you can get technical and say, you need to say this, you need to say this, but I think it ultimately comes down to is that you need to let them know that they’re in the right place and then give them value. I know it sounds stupidly simple but I think there’s many people out there that just like they’re trying to heighten all this traffic, all this stuff through your website. People are smart, you can’t bullshit people... When you’re genuine, when you give value and you’re just a real down to earth person then that’s when people recognize that. People will connect with you just on that fact based alone, they might be coming searching for information they want to learn how to grow tomatoes or lose weight or whatever it is. A lot of times people just want to connect with somebody and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had that happen where people just, they’ll hit me up on Facebook and they’re like, “Yeah, I mean, your video is great and all that but you just seem like you’re a down to earth person, you seem like a good dude and that’s why I came out and connected with you.” Steve: Interesting... I have had it happen before also and I never realized that that was probably it. I’m trying to be authentic on camera, you know what I mean? I’m just being myself and I have people come back and say, “Hey, you’re the man. I have this feeling when I was talking to you I should reach out to you,” and I was like, “What kind of feeling? All right, thanks.” Interesting. Yeah, that’s cool you bring that up... There really is as simple as that just answer the question, let them know that they’re there and then connect with them. There’s a guy I was listening to and he was saying something like, “The first 20 seconds you have to do something crazy to keep their attention. The next 60 seconds then you got to teach a little nugget then the final two minutes do something that’s also a little crazy to make sure they come back next time.” I was like, “Man, that’s a lot. All right,” but that’s so much more simpler route to do that. What kind of timeline do you usually look at when you’re trying to rank a video? You know what I mean, like how long it usually take? Nick: Again, it’s kind of goes along the same thing I was talking about just before and there’ll be a lot of people that say, “You got to make two to four minutes.” I certainly agree to that to an extent because like I was saying before it’ll help you start ranking your videos a little bit more if people are watching more of your video. If you have a shorter video it’s more likely that people are just going to watch more of it. If you have an 11 minute video then obviously less people are just going to watch it just because everyone has shorter attention spans. It does depend on the video that you’re doing because specific keywords especially like I do a lot of reviews. I’ll be honest that’s where a lot of my traffic comes from, a lot of my buyer traffic. That's just kind of a nugget right there. If you can start doing some reviews like that’s going to be some of your best traffic out there. I’ve got review videos that are like 10, 11, 12 minutes long and people watch the majority of it because buyers, think about this, buyers will watch, they will watch everything and they’ll read everything because they're thinking about it from your perspective. If you’re going out there and let's just say for example you want to buy a new MacBook or yeah, let’s just go with that example. Are you going to go to the website and just like look at a couple of pictures and then buy? No, you’re probably going to be going, you’re going to watch the hour long keynote presentation, you’re going to watch the ten minute video that shows all the details and all the benefits and features on the MacBook. You’re going to be talking to people, you might even reach out to a support. Buyers they will do their research. To just tell you, “You have to have it four minutes long,” or, “You have to have it ten minutes long,” I can’t really tell you that exactly because if you just target keywords that are buyer keywords, people are going to be searching that stuff until they make that buyer decision. Does that all makes sense? Steve: Yeah, it does. That’s a great insight. It’s not like a two to four minutes, there's not a hard fast rule, it's just hey whatever is … Make sure first that you’re actually delivering value and answering the question and coming back to them. Nick: Yeah, and if you’re asking for a short answer, I would say keep it shorter if you can but if you need more time to explain everything that you need I think there’s nothing wrong with that. Steve: What kind of buyer keywords? I mean is there’s a trend in good buying keywords, you know what I mean that you’re saying? Like across mostly internet or things that will pull your videos apart because those keywords are more valuable or you know what I mean? Nick: I’ll just be honest, review videos are probably the best videos that you can possibly make. Steve: Really? Nick: Yeah, because the reason people are coming and looking for reviews is because they saw a video or they saw a product and they’re a buyer. They’re looking for more information on that, they want to get everything they can possibly know about that. Once they figured out, once they see your video, once something clicks and they make sure it’s the right product for them then they’re ready to buy right there. Does that makes sense? Steve: Interesting. Yeah, 100%. I was just thinking too I’ve got like, I don’t know, 150 videos on YouTube but 90 of them are unlisted or whatever so that I can put them inside of websites and things like that. Do you have a preference at all? Have you found that there’s any kind of, I don’t know. I don’t even know, favoritism given to people who stay on the YouTube website versus watching YouTube video embedded on a page? Nick: I haven’t really done too much embedding on different pages so I can’t really speak for that. One other thing I was going to touch is the fact that you can actually look at your analytics too and you can see which videos people are watching longer. You can see the average duration on how long your viewers are staying on your video... Steve: Yeah, I love the stat section in the back of YouTube, it’s nuts. Most people don't look at that by a part but it’s pretty fascinating. Nick: Yeah, it’s great stuff and I actually just like within the last few months I’ve really started looking at that stuff a lot more and it’s really helped me. We just go back to the whole thing about testing seeing what works and then start doing more of what works. That what I was doing is I was really taking a look at the analytics, see what the videos that people are staying on for a long time and then just making more of those videos. Because there’s some videos where people are staying on for less than a minute through an average of 10,000 views. I’m like, “Okay, that obviously didn’t work so let’s throw that away. It was a good test, that was some good feedback, I won’t do that anymore so let’s move on and let’s find something better.” Steve: I just wanted to touch on something because this really matters a lot in kind of my world. I build funnels all day long, just tons of sales funnels and that’s kind of what I was looking through on your site mentorwithnick.com which is super cool, everyone should go there, mentorwithnick.com. You’ve got a quiz there and we’re a huge a fan of quizzes, it kind of pre-frame people. You got a welcome video from you and automated email that I got and then a link over to $1 offer. Kind of a cool biz opportunity there or business product I should say. Usually what we do when I build these types of funnels. You just kind of took me through in that mentorwithnick.com is we’ll always take those videos and enlist them and put them inside a funnel. I mean, I never let people just sit inside of YouTube format. I think it’s interesting that you just said … I mean it sounds like almost all of your review videos they’re all on YouTube anyway which makes sense. That’s what people are searching. That’s fascinating though. I guess I’m just recapping that. That’s cool though. Do you ever embed it all I guess, I mean you obviously did on that welcome video with Mentor With Nick. Nick: Yeah, that is one place that I do embed, I kind of almost forgot about that but those are like the only places. Mostly just like welcome videos or I like to call as bridge pages, like you said I do promote different things, different opportunities and stuff like that. What a lot of people will do is they’ll just send traffic directly to an offer and while that can work for sure like I’m not saying it can. Steve: It’s rough though. Nick: Yeah, pre-frame that a little bit and kind of just introduce them, kind of welcome them into your world. That’s a big thing it’s just like saying, “Hey, I’m here for you,” like, “I got your back,” like, “Don’t worry,” like, “We got this taken care of and you know I’m going to introduce you to this thing and you can certainly take us up on that but if not, you know, just connect with us.” So many people just want to connect with somebody, that’s what my whole video is about and after they opt in it’s just kind of saying, “Hey, I’m here,” like, “If you need anything from me you’ll be receiving some emails from me and you know I’m here to help you out.” I think that’s just a lot better way to do things instead of just like hard driving traffic to offers... My honest opinion that’s going to drop convergence but it’s also going to drop your audience where they just think that you’re just trying to sell them all the time. Steve: Yeah, 100% I agree with that and I was impressed with that video that you put out there, I thought that was really good. I always draw out funnels like crazy and in my world we call it funnel hacking. I was going through your funnel and drawing all that out, the emails that came, things like that and it’s not like you need that welcome video, the one from you. Technically you don’t but I thought it was interesting and cool that you put it in there because I watched the whole thing and it made sense to me is like, “Hey, there’s a lot of trust and there was a lot of ...” What’s the word? I can’t think the word. After watching the video I was like, “Hey, this guy is real. That was cool. What a good video,” and it set me up because I have to tell you when the next video started I was like, “Eh.” I don’t know but because I watched you, I was like there was a lot more trust, like a lot more stock in that video. Anyways, great example right there, I thought that was fantastic... Nick: Thank you. I appreciate that. Steve: Yeah, everyone go checkout mentorwithnick.com, that’s an interesting process for a bridge page right there. That’s really good. Nick: Thank you. Steve: Do you send people to quizzes a lot also? Nick: I use that capture page right now because it seems to be converting the best. I’ve noticed that in the past like I even got opt in pages like that up to like 50% opt in rate for all my traffic which is really good. Right now I’m sitting at around like 39%. I mean that’s for the best that I’ve done. I’ve tested with a lot of different stuff and everything else have been kind of sitting around like 32 to 33 maybe like a little bit higher than that. I just use that because it just kind of like gets them invested... They have the two step opt in and you are obviously very familiar with all this stuff and that works really well where you have to click on something that makes it a little bit more congruent. They’ve already invested a little something to make sure they put their email address in but the survey just kind of adds a little bit more like they’re taking a quiz and then they’re like, “Okay.” Now, they need to put their email address in and they’re already a little bit more invested so they’re more likely to continue with that action, that whole congruency. Steve: 100% plus then you can follow up with them, you got their email address and you can re-market to them and ask them if they got the trial. Yeah, great for you, great for them. Yeah, I completely agree with that too. I had this quiz who’s probably about 50% also, same thing. It’s just quizzes are great things for people. It was only like four questions but it set them into my … It was the same thing that you did which is what I was laughing at, “Where did you hear about us from?” and it was like, “Facebook, Oprah, Obama mentioned me,” and then other. I’ve never been on those things before but because they heard those names first and then your name last or even other, it’s a lot more stock also. Just increases your authority like crazy, not that you want to be deceptive but it does give you more authority. The next question was like, “What age range are you in?” and these are questions that sometimes don’t even matter or you can ask questions that just kind of poke them in the eye a little bit. “How much do you make on your side business every week?” “Zero. A hundred bucks,” and then just, “I got to choose the lowest one.” For a weight loss product, “How many products have you tried?” but at the time your solution comes up they’re like, “Man, he’s right. I fail every time at this. I do need to buy this product.” That’s interesting though. Cool. Hey man, I don’t want to just keep taking your time. I appreciate you getting up early to do this with me. Where can people learn more about you and join your world like you were saying? Nick: You can add me on Facebook, that’s a good place. I am kind of maxing that out now. Lately I’ve been going pretty hard with getting people add me and everything like that. My friend list is kind of maxing out right now so I did also start up a new Instagram account, a new Snapchat account which my usernames are Mentor With Nick, just kind of goes along with my website. You can also go to my website like you mentioned before which is mentorwithnick.com. Steve: Mentor With Nick Instagram and Snapchat, mentorwithnick.com also and then also on Facebook. Hey Nick, I appreciate it man. Thank you so much for taking the time again and for dropping all the nuggets you did. Nick: Yeah, for sure man. It was fun. I always love getting on with like-minded people and just chat marketing something I’m very passionate about. Steve: Yeah, I appreciate it. Everyone else usually who talks about it, sometimes they feel alone in this world. Anyways, it’s cool to meet you man and I do appreciate it. Nick: No problem, man. Happy to be on. Steve: All right, talk to you later. Announcer: Thanks for listening to Sales Funnel Radio. Please remember to subscribe and leave feedback. Have a question you want answered on the show? What people and systems are you putting in place, so that you can focus 100% of your time on your super power? On this first episode after moving to a new office Russell talks about a few cool things that he has going on right now including the new Funnel Hacker TV podcast. He also talks about finding and focusing on your super power. Here are some fun things you’ll hear on this episode: The exciting stuff that will be on Funnel Hacker TV and why you won’t want to miss it. An idea Russell had for a hack-a-thon, where a bunch of experts will come and get together and funnel hack for 3 days straight. And why everyone should figure out what their super power is, in life and in business and how focusing on this it is important. So listen below to find out why it’s important to know what your super power is. ---Transcript--- Hey everyone, this is Russell and I want to welcome you guys to Marketing in Your Car. All right everyone, I’m excited to be here with you guys. I think this is my first podcast since we’ve been in the new office. I did one talking about going to the new office. Now we’re there. We moved in. It’s fun, exciting, new, and all the fun stuff that comes with that. This is the first time I think I’ve messaged you since I’ve been over here. So I’m actually driving home right now. I’m actually, just sometimes I don’t plan things. We’re also moving our house soon. Soon, my house will be close to the office. Then it will be a short commute again but for right now, the house is far away. You guys may get a couple episodes that will be a little bit longer than normal. I hope you guys don’t mind. It should be fine. Anyway, I hope that things are going awesome for all you guys. I’m having a ton of fun. It’s been insane how business has been. You know, every month, we keep growing and this month, we just smashed through our records again from last month which last month, we were like, “There’s no way we’re going to beat these,” and we did it again. It’s exciting. Hopefully we’ll keep it rocking and rolling. A couple other exciting things, some of you guys know we launched the Funnel Hacker video podcast today which I’m finally excited. I’ve been talking to you guys about it for awhile. I hope you guys go and subscribe. It will be in iTunes hopefully by tomorrow but right now, it’s just online. ITunes will be all right for it but it’s video based because we’re showing you guys awesome cool stuff. I would say make sure you subscribe to the video based one. Basically, all you got to do is go to FunnelHacker.tv and see episode number one. It was really fun. Basically I sketch out the concept of a funnel. Then we bring the person on whose funnel we’re sketching out. They’re going to show us, talk to us about the psychology, why they did what they did, and then for all those guys who are DCS Labs members, you’ll get the funnel for free in your account which is kind of cool. That’s kind of what’s happening. I did the first episode one was on the DotCom Secrets book launch. I showed that off. Hopefully it will give you guys some cool insights and ideas from that funnel. That’s what’s going down over there. We got the big live Funnel Hacking event at the end of the month, so www.FunnelHacking.com which is kind of cool. We got one other cool funnel thing happening that we just started putting together yesterday or the day before. I was thinking about in my own company, when I want to get crap done, what do we do? I call up Todd, Dillon, and whoever it is from all around the country. We all fly to Boise, sit in the office for three days, and we don’t sleep. You guys know about this because if you listen to the podcast, you hear me most nights coming home at four in the morning talking about these things, our hackathons. It was called hackathons. I thought, “What if we changed our coaching program around a little bit?” You’ll actually see some big shifts coming from our coaching program here. It’s based off this idea of what if we gave people an experience where instead of us coaching for over a year — which is good but you know, it’s extended. It’s long — what if we gave people an emerging period where they come to Boise and we do hackathon with them and their business? In three days, or four days, whatever it ends up being, we do it all. I’m really excited. We’re going to do the first test run probably in June. We’re going to bring eight people in. Basically what’s going to happen is we’re going to have for sure two and maybe three sales funnels we’re going to build out. We’re going to build out a webinar funnel where I’m just actually going to write their whole webinar pitch just because people always screw it up it seems like. I’ll write the webinar pitch. Then I’ll actually pitch it so they can watch me pitch it and record that so they have that. Then they will have a chance to pitch it. I’ll critique them and stuff like that. I’ll build out the sales funnel. It’s not like my team will. It will be me. I’m just going to do it all because I’m probably one of the faster guys on my team now doing it. I’m pretty picky about it because I know what works. I’ll just build out those funnels. We’ll also build out their high ticket funnel. I’ll have my video guy take them out, film all the emotional story based videos we need for the high ticket funnel. Then we will go and train their salespeople. They’ll bring two salespeople with them. My sales guys will train their sales guys. Then work on Traffic Geyser, get that set up and running and working. When all is said and done, they will leave with at least two funnels and up running, trained salespeople, a webinar pitch, everything, and it’s going to be called the hackathon, the funnel hackathon. I’m excited. I’m sure you’ll see more about that over the next few months but it’s in embryo right now which is kind of fun. It’s being developed and designed. I’m really excited for it. Hopefully some of you guys will want to come to that. We will get done in three days what it would take a typical person six months or more to get done. It will be fun. It’s not like again you’re hiring a copywriter or something. You’re hiring me. I’m doing all the work which will be really fun. I’ll really enjoy it. Right now eight because we want to have small groups, eight people, eight webinar pitches in a three day period of time. It will be awesome. I’m excited. If you guys want to come to that in the future — actually, if you want to book it now, if you go to DotCom Secrets Ignite, go apply and my sales guys will call you. Just be like, “Hey, I want in on the hackathon,” and they’ll be like, “How do you know about the hackathon? We haven’t even started selling that yet,” and you’ll be like, “I know, I’m in the Marketing in Your Car podcast. I listen and take action.” We’ll get you in. That’s about it. What I want to talk you guys about today now that you got some cool updates, some cool stuff that’s happening, I want to talk to you about one of the interesting conversations that we had today in the office. It’s funny because when you start as an entrepreneur in most business ventures, it’s you, right. It’s you juggling everything. You’re wearing every single hat. When I got started, I was the product creator, the copywriter, the Web site designer, the support agent. I was doing all of the pieces. I didn’t even know. I had to figure everything out because there was no one there to help me. I wasn’t making any money so I couldn’t hire people. That’s how a lot of businesses start. Then as you start growing, obviously after awhile, you start handing things off to different people and hiring people or bringing in partners depending on the route you go. Then from that point, you spend the time just focusing more on what you’re good at. Anyway, we’ve had some interesting conversations with my partners at ClickFunnels today. We had a conversation just about that thing where each of us have our own superpower. I think everyone does. I think everyone on earth has their own superpower. I think God gives everyone a superpower, something that they’re uniquely qualified to do. I tell my kids this all the time. “What’s your superpower?” and they all know what their superpowers are. I think that each of us, especially in your company, everyone has their own superpower. A lot of times, when we start growing, we get people to do different pieces of it but still usually in a smaller company, everyone is wearing a lot of hats which is necessary for awhile but as you start growing a little bit, and without trying to hire a ton of people because that’s not what we’re trying to do but really getting the stars on your team to be able to focus on their superpower and get really good at it. You look at of all the tasks I do every single day, and there’s like a thousand things I do everyday, there’s one that makes the most money. It’s when I’m on a webinar pitching. When I’m on a webinar, I’ll make more money in 90 minutes than I do the rest of the month combined. How can I – what can we do so that I’m always on a webinar? We’re looking at both Todd and Dillon who are some of the most amazing developers I’ve ever seen in my life. They’re developing stuff and they’re awesome at it but then half the time, they’re sitting back where they have bug fixes and requests, all these things they have to do that aren’t their superpowers. They have to do those though to keep things moving forward. The problem is that because of that, things can’t move forward. It’s one of those chicken and the egg scenarios, you know how it works. What we’re trying to focus on doing is looking at what each one of our superpowers are and trying to barricade ourselves around so the only thing we’re allowed to do, the only thing we’re able to do is what our superpower is so we can move that thing forward because again, in 90 minutes, I can make more money than I could in six months doing all these other things. The same thing with Todd, Dillon, or with you, whatever your job is like you focus on your one superpower, you can make your company more money than doing all the rest of the stuff. How do you protect yourself and barricade yourself at a spot where you can just focus on that? What people do you need to add to your team that can take off those other pieces from you that are strangling you? You know, when we moved to the new office, so much stuff was happening, so many things were juggling. I was so overwhelmed with everything so I took Kelsey, who has been my assistant for four years now. She’s been my assistant and support. She’s done both roles. Because of that, when support goes up, I lose her. We broke her away where she does overflow support now but her main job is making sure that I can get my job done because the big thing is she can answer support, it takes all day but if she can facilitate me selling, we’ll all make more money. It will facilitate me selling. We’re trying to put this barricade around me, all these little things that are holding me back like getting my office clean and creating things right here, meetings, all the other things that I don’t like doing and that are a struggle for me, she’s trying to barricade those from me so that I can just – it was funny, Brent on our team was like, “All we want Russell to do is sit behind his computer on the microphone and just sell stuff. If he can do that all day long, everything else will take care of itself.” Just my thought today as I’ve been thinking about this from conversations we’ve been having for me is just how can I barricade myself as much as possible so that I’m only focusing on my superpowers? The other stars on my team, how can I barricade them so they’re only focusing on their superpowers? If we get everyone doing their superpowers and obviously with any kind of company, there’s always, you have to wear a lot of hats but if we can shift it where instead of spending 80% of our time wearing a bunch of hats and 20% of our time doing our superpower, if we shift it to 80% superpower, 20% the other stuff, or if you can get to the point where you’re doing 90% or 100% superpower, how much more of a dramatic impact and a change can you make within your company to your team, to your customers, to the world? That’s kind of my thought. That’s my focus. That’s what I’m looking at is what can I do to become better at that and really be able to get myself and my team focusing on that. Anyway, I hope that helps for you. I know all of you guys are doing different things and at different points and different spots in your business but it’s just a smart thing to start thinking about. I remember the first time I understood this concept was when I read the book The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. It’s so funny, I was at an event with all these people. This was 10 or 11 years ago. All these people were talking about it. I thought The E-Myth was an entrepreneur book or an Internet marketing myth, like email, e-myth. I was going on a family trip down to Lake Powell, Utah which is like a 10 hour drive from here. On the way out of town, we swung by Barnes & Noble and Collette’s like, “Get a book,” so I got The E-Myth because I’m like, “People talk about this. It looks awesome.” I started driving. We get all the way down to Lake Powell. We get in this boat out in the middle of the lake. We sit there. I pull out my book to read. Within five minutes, I realized this has nothing to do with Internet marketing. I was like, “Oh, dang it. I thought this was an Internet marketing book I was trying to read. Now I’m stuck on a lake and this is all I have.” I read it. I’m grateful I did because it talked about the systemization of businesses and how to pull yourself out of them, and a bunch of really cool stuff. If you haven’t read that, go read it. If you have read it, now is the time to start applying it more so in your life. I’ve done it to a good point but I haven’t been religious about making barriers around my time, not just making barriers to make barriers though because you don’t want the rest of your company to fall apart but making a barrier by replacing that piece and putting the right person in place so that the ball doesn’t get dropped. I’d rather have other people in my team wearing multiple hats than myself. That’s really the goal. Anyway, I hope that helps. I hope you guys are doing awesome. I’m almost home so I’m going to end today. I appreciate you guys listening in. Again, go check out FunnelHacker.tv. It’s www.FunnelHacker.tv. Oh, and the other cool thing is that we are now giving away free Funnel Hacker t-shirts. If you go onto ClickFunnels, if you haven’t logged in for awhile, log in and the first thing that pops up is this cool 12 minute on-boarding video. You go through the on-boarding video and when you are done, we will ship you out a t-shirt. It doesn’t cost you a penny as long as you’re a ClickFunnel member. That’s a gift for being awesome and being a ClickFunnel member. With that said, I am out of here. I will talk to you guys soon. Have fun and drive safe. Thanks guys.

We moved in. It's fun, exciting, new, and all the fun stuff that comes with that. This is the first time I think I've messaged you since I've been over here. So I'm actually driving home right now. I'm actually, just sometimes I don't plan things. We're also moving our house soon. Soon, my house will be close to the office. Then it will be a short commute again but for right now, the house is far away. You guys may get a couple episodes that will be a little bit longer than normal. I hope you guys don't mind. It should be fine. Anyway, I hope that things are going awesome for all you guys. I'm having a ton of fun. It's been insane how business has been. You know, every month, we keep growing and this month, we just smashed through our records again from last month which last month, we were like, “There's no way we're going to beat these,” and we did it again. It's exciting. Hopefully we'll keep it rocking and rolling. A couple other exciting things, some of you guys know we launched the Funnel Hacker video podcast today which I'm finally excited. I've been talking to you guys about it for awhile. I hope you guys go and subscribe. It will be in iTunes hopefully by tomorrow but right now, it's just online. ITunes will be all right for it but it's video based because we're showing you guys awesome cool stuff. I would say make sure you subscribe to the video based one. Basically, all you got to do is go to FunnelHacker.tv and see episode number one. It was really fun. Basically I sketch out the concept of a funnel. Then we bring the person on whose funnel we're sketching out. They're going to show us, talk to us about the psychology, why they did what they did, and then for all those guys who are DCS Labs members, you'll get the funnel for free in your account which is kind of cool. That's kind of what's happening. I did the first episode one was on the DotCom Secrets book launch. I showed that off. Hopefully it will give you guys some cool insights and ideas from that funnel. That's what's going down over there. We all fly to Boise, sit in the office for three days, and we don't sleep. You guys know about this because if you listen to the podcast, you hear me most nights coming home at four in the morning talking about these things, our hackathons. It was called hackathons. I thought, “What if we changed our coaching program around a little bit?” You'll actually see some big shifts coming from our coaching program here. It's based off this idea of what if we gave people an experience where instead of us coaching for over a year — which is good but you know, it's extended. It's long — what if we gave people an emerging period where they come to Boise and we do hackathon with them and their business? In three days, or four days, whatever it ends up being, we do it all. I'm really excited. We're going to do the first test run probably in June. We're going to bring eight people in. Basically what's going to happen is we're going to have for sure two and maybe three sales funnels we're going to build out. We're going to build out a webinar funnel where I'm just actually going to write their whole webinar pitch just because people always screw it up it seems like. I'll write the webinar pitch. Then I'll actually pitch it so they can watch me pitch it and record that so they have that. Then they will have a chance to pitch it. I'll critique them and stuff like that. I'll build out the sales funnel. It's not like my team will. It will be me. I'm just going to do it all because I'm probably one of the faster guys on my team now doing it. I'm pretty picky about it because I know what works. I'll just build out those funnels. We'll also build out their high ticket funnel. I'll have my video guy take them out, film all the emotional story based videos we need for the high ticket funnel. Then we will go and train their salespeople. They'll bring two salespeople with them. My sales guys will train their sales guys. Then work on Traffic Geyser, get that set up and running and working. When all is said and done, they will leave with at least two funnels and up running, trained salespeople, a webinar pitch, everything, and it's going to be called the hackathon, the funnel hackathon. I'm excited. I'm sure you'll see more about that over the next few months but it's in embryo right now which is kind of fun. It's being developed and designed. I'm really excited for it. Hopefully some of you guys will want to come to that. We will get done in three days what it would take a typical person six months or more to get done. It will be fun. It's not like again you're hiring a copywriter or something. You're hiring me. I'm doing all the work which will be really fun. I'll really enjoy it. Right now eight because we want to have small groups, eight people, eight webinar pitches in a three day period of time. It will be awesome. I'm excited. If you guys want to come to that in the future — actually, if you want to book it now, if you go to DotCom Secrets Ignite, go apply and my sales guys will call you. Just be like, “Hey, I want in on the hackathon,” and they'll be like, “How do you know about the hackathon? We haven't even started selling that yet,” and you'll be like, “I know, I'm in the Marketing in Your Car podcast. I listen and take action.” We'll get you in. That's about it. What I want to talk you guys about today now that you got some cool updates, some cool stuff that's happening, I want to talk to you about one of the interesting conversations that we had today in the office. It's funny because when you start as an entrepreneur in most business ventures, it's you, right. It's you juggling everything. You're wearing every single hat. When I got started, I was the product creator, the copywriter, the Web site designer, the support agent. I was doing all of the pieces. I didn't even know. I had to figure everything out because there was no one there to help me. I wasn't making any money so I couldn't hire people. That's how a lot of businesses start. Then as you start growing, obviously after awhile, you start handing things off to different people and hiring people or bringing in partners depending on the route you go. Then from that point, you spend the time just focusing more on what you're good at. Anyway, we've had some interesting conversations with my partners at ClickFunnels today. We had a conversation just about that thing where each of us have our own superpower. I think everyone does. I think everyone on earth has their own superpower. I think God gives everyone a superpower, something that they're uniquely qualified to do. I tell my kids this all the time. “What's your superpower?” and they all know what their superpowers are. I think that each of us, especially in your company, everyone has their own superpower. A lot of times, when we start growing, we get people to do different pieces of it but still usually in a smaller company, everyone is wearing a lot of hats which is necessary for awhile but as you start growing a little bit, and without trying to hire a ton of people because that's not what we're trying to do but really getting the stars on your team to be able to focus on their superpower and get really good at it. You look at of all the tasks I do every single day, and there's like a thousand things I do everyday, there's one that makes the most money. It's when I'm on a webinar pitching. When I'm on a webinar, I'll make more money in 90 minutes than I do the rest of the month combined. How can I – what can we do so that I'm always on a webinar? We're looking at both Todd and Dillon who are some of the most amazing developers I've ever seen in my life. They're developing stuff and they're awesome at it but then half the time, they're sitting back where they have bug fixes and requests, all these things they have to do that aren't their superpowers. They have to do those though to keep things moving forward. The problem is that because of that, things can't move forward. It's one of those chicken and the egg scenarios, you know how it works. What we're trying to focus on doing is looking at what each one of our superpowers are and trying to barricade ourselves around so the only thing we're allowed to do, the only thing we're able to do is what our superpower is so we can move that thing forward because again, in 90 minutes, I can make more money than I could in six months doing all these other things. She's been my assistant and support. She's done both roles. Because of that, when support goes up, I lose her. We broke her away where she does overflow support now but her main job is making sure that I can get my job done because the big thing is she can answer support, it takes all day but if she can facilitate me selling, we'll all make more money. It will facilitate me selling. We're trying to put this barricade around me, all these little things that are holding me back like getting my office clean and creating things right here, meetings, all the other things that I don't like doing and that are a struggle for me, she's trying to barricade those from me so that I can just – it was funny, Brent on our team was like, “All we want Russell to do is sit behind his computer on the microphone and just sell stuff. If he can do that all day long, everything else will take care of itself.” Just my thought today as I've been thinking about this from conversations we've been having for me is just how can I barricade myself as much as possible so that I'm only focusing on my superpowers? The other stars on my team, how can I barricade them so they're only focusing on their superpowers? If we get everyone doing their superpowers and obviously with any kind of company, there's always, you have to wear a lot of hats but if we can shift it where instead of spending 80% of our time wearing a bunch of hats and 20% of our time doing our superpower, if we shift it to 80% superpower, 20% the other stuff, or if you can get to the point where you're doing 90% or 100% superpower, how much more of a dramatic impact and a change can you make within your company to your team, to your customers, to the world? That's kind of my thought. That's my focus. That's what I'm looking at is what can I do to become better at that and really be able to get myself and my team focusing on that. Anyway, I hope that helps for you. I know all of you guys are doing different things and at different points and different spots in your business but it's just a smart thing to start thinking about. I remember the first time I understood this concept was when I read the book The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. It's so funny, I was at an event with all these people. This was 10 or 11 years ago. All these people were talking about it. I thought The E-Myth was an entrepreneur book or an Internet marketing myth, like email, e-myth. I was going on a family trip down to Lake Powell, Utah which is like a 10 hour drive from here. On the way out of town, we swung by Barnes & Noble and Collette's like, “Get a book,” so I got The E-Myth because I'm like, “People talk about this. Now I'm stuck on a lake and this is all I have.” I read it. I'm grateful I did because it talked about the systemization of businesses and how to pull yourself out of them, and a bunch of really cool stuff. If you haven't read that, go read it. If you have read it, now is the time to start applying it more so in your life. I've done it to a good point but I haven't been religious about making barriers around my time, not just making barriers to make barriers though because you don't want the rest of your company to fall apart but making a barrier by replacing that piece and putting the right person in place so that the ball doesn't get dropped. I'd rather have other people in my team wearing multiple hats than myself. That's really the goal. Anyway, I hope that helps. I hope you guys are doing awesome. I'm almost home so I'm going to end today. I appreciate you guys listening in. Again, go check out FunnelHacker.tv. It's www.FunnelHacker.tv. Oh, and the other cool thing is that we are now giving away free Funnel Hacker t-shirts. If you go onto ClickFunnels, if you haven't logged in for awhile, log in and the first thing that pops up is this cool 12 minute on-boarding video. You go through the on-boarding video and when you are done, we will ship you out a t-shirt. It doesn't cost you a penny as long as you're a ClickFunnel member. That's a gift for being awesome and being a ClickFunnel member. With that said, I am out of here. I will talk to you guys soon. Have fun and drive safe. Thanks guys.
