Boyertown, PA, joins the "Before I Die" global project of over 5,000 walls in over 70 countries, in over 30 languages. Amy Muzopappa introduced the project from Alaska while on vacation and knew it had to come to Boyertown. It was a perfect fit for Studio B's "Legacy: Remembrance Matters" exhibit featuring visual and literary art and the many efforts of Building a Better Boyertown. John Martignetti constructed the wall; Andrew Garcia added the chalkboard paint. Amy applied the stencils by Thursday, June 15 at 5:00 pm. and by Friday morning, June 16, 10 a.m. the wall featured its first responses. A ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday, June 21, 5:30 pm. So exciting to be part of this international project begun over 10 years ago!! The mission: finding common ground, creating community cohesiveness--the mission of so many projects featured in this special kind of place: Boyertown, PA. As our beloved former mayor, the late Marianne Deery insisted: none of us is a stranger--just a friend we have not yet met.

Andrew Garcia, a member of our Elite competition team here at Scorpion Fighting System in Brighton at the Michigan Institute of Athletics tells his story from growing up to stepping into the cage for the first time.
For this episode, we had the pleasure of talking with our good friend Tom Harpole about his collection, Regarding Willingness. Tom wrote for national magazines for decades, but this collection consists of personal essays that Tom wrote through the years about his adventures in various parts of the world, including skydiving in Russia, and going along for a ride with one of the ice road truckers in Alaska. He also nearly cut off his own arm with a chainsaw, so Tom's life has never been dull. We paired his book with what is considered a classic Montana adventure story, Tough Trip Through Paradise, by Andrew Garcia. This book was written in the early twentieth century and was tucked away in a safe for decades before an editor named Ben Stein from Livingston discovered the manuscript and polished it up and got it published. The story's veracity has come into question over the years, but there's no questioning Mr. Garcia's ability to tell a captivating story.

I get things started in episode 15 with discussion of which professional leagues will be resuming their season sooner than others. I also talk about the potential of college football teams allowing fans into their stadiums this upcoming season. My topic for the episode includes the subject of dual sport athletes and I rank my top five greatest dual sport athletes of all time. Finally, I finish the episode with an incredible interview with my special guest, Coach Andrew Garcia whose a current assistant men's basketball coach from USC Upstate.
Jim Dedelow has Andrew Garcia and Ben Wood in studio talking about their time at WJOB and future.
Andrew Garcia is the co-founder of Goodshuffle, and as one of the first Grails users on Heroku, he worked closely with Joe Kutner, Heroku's Java Platform Owner over the years. They chat with Chris Castle, a developer advocate at Heroku, about Goodshuffle's experience with building a startup on top of the JVM. When building an application, it's often tempting to reach for the latest and greatest technologies to build your app. Andrew Garcia argues for something different: by using "boring" technology--that is, languages and frameworks that have been around for years, not months--you can iterate much more quickly on features. He's chosen JDK8 (released in 2014) to run Goodshuffle, a startup founded in 2013 to help event companies manage their business operations. Goodshuffle uses frameworks like Gradle and Angular because of their stance on convention over configuration, which is another opportunity for being more productive. The more reliable the tools you use are, the more you can focus on your users needs. You know what I mean, its crazy to think that I am an older person, like when I think back, like I still feel very youthful and stuff ya know, but I do ya know, what you were saying earlier I have been thru a ton so like what I really wanna do is just share that with people and let them know that like they're not alone in that, whether it is like losing a parent, being the man of the house, or being an independent entrepreneur or whatever you know all these little things you know I think we all---that’s part of my purpose so I feel like I'm gonna be able to do that for the rest of my life so I feel like I'm still meant to live on this earth. So whether I discover new things or not in different musical ways or whatever so… Balance between quality and consistency 54:07 Consistency wins on any platform because that platform whether its YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter…they want you to be on that app forever, and they want your users to stay on that app. So like the algorithms will work in a way where they see you being consistent they're gonna put your video at the top of the search results they're gonna make it more relevant to the users who are watching you, you know what I mean -- its all about the attention rate too, so they can see, you can see yourself, if you look on your YouTube channel, how long people are watching and stuff matters. So what I learned with all these videos, even the light on a certain part of my face and us taking an hour to figure out the lights doesn't matter to some people. You know what I mean, I learned little things that, where its like people just want to see content, but then there were those projects where I was like I really do care about the lights about the way the light goes on this because this is a track that I recorded that is a cover that means a lot to me… 55:29 The pull between quality and consistency, that when I realized its always going to be there, and you have to pick and choose your battles. You know what I mean and its like, care about the videos you want to care about, you know what I mean, cuz some of the ones that and even some of the ones you don't care about are the ones that are gonna go viral. Like the one that got the most hits in that month was this video where we lost the footage of 2 other angles. And were all like ah shit all we have is this diagonal footage lets just put it out anyways. And we put it out, 6 million views! If you are considerate of the way a certain person communicates and you try to put yourselves in their shoes and you communicate it in that way then the world would be a better place theoretically and you finding that peace with each other you can have that respect for each other whether it ends on a good note or not. https://www.kinjaz.com/podkast https://www.kinjazpodkast.com https://www.instagram.com/kinjazpodkast https://www.twitter.com/kinjazpodkast https://www.facebook.com/kinjazpodkast
Most people do not understand life is all about give and take. Give more and you can receive more. Most of us have a problem giving and not being able to take. Yet we also give in ways that our take is so small. "Give big, receive big". Reserved by Andrew Garcia

What's in a name? A lot, actually, especially for a law firm. In this episode of Legal Toolkit, host Jared Correia talks to Andrew Garcia and Megan Zavieh about law firm names and why they don't have to be boring. Together, they also discuss why lawyers don't feel free to be creative with their firm names, the ethics to keep in mind when branding your company, and how to spice up a traditional name for attorneys who decide to take that route. Megan Zavieh is an attorney with a broad range of litigation experience now focusing on attorney defense in the California State Bar disciplinary system. Andrew J. Garcia is a life-long member of the SouthCoast community and co-founder of Phillips Garcia Law. Special thanks to our sponsors Scorpion, Answer1, and Thomson Reuters Firm Central.
