For a long time, Kevin kept his post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety buried deep. These days Kevin shares what happens when you hit rock bottom, how he figured it out, and the triggers that made a difference in transforming his life as a coach and public speaker. In this episode he shares:How he got into the militaryThe act of compassion that ensured his successWhat it means to be a Blackhawk helicopter pilotHis time in the US and overseas and the impact it hadThe loneliness he experienced while in commandThe management debacle that meant his promotion actually created problemsThe toxic workplace issues he experienced in the militaryWhen he became suicidalThe help he received that started him on his path to recoveryHis realisation about what he was putting his family throughWhat he used and did to help heal and recoverHis realisation about PTED and how it helped himHow long it took him to make his problems publicThe important, healing power of accepting his mental illnessHis current relationship with shame and prideKey Quotes“I didn't wanna be asleep and I didn't wanna be awake. www.commsolutionsmn.com The DFL is still not showing up to the MN Legislature. They violated the MN constitution. They broke MN statutes. Not only are they not legally sworn in, but they continue to refuse to come to work. They MN Supreme Court disregarded the constitution and the law to side with the DFL. Secretary of State, Steve Simon, is also refusing to follow the law and go get the absent lawmakers upon request. The local media has been covering for them. Governor Walz has been silent (no surprise). Will the Republicans hold? We sure hope so. What's with all of the airplane crashes? Are they operator error or is air traffic control filled with DEI hires that are underqualified for the job? It's no secret that Mayor Pete was awful at his job and that the Department of Transportation is in shambles. We're not very far into the Trump administration, but the news is fast and furious. He has had four years to plan this moment and he is taking full advantage of the political winds being in his favor. He ended birthright citizenship, setting off a firestorm around the 14th amendment to the constitution. What does "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" mean? That is the argument that President Trump's position hangs on. Are children of non-citizens subject to the jurisdiction of the US or their parents' country of origin? This may end up at the Supreme Court. The president moved to drill like crazy and refill our strategic reserves. He removed all of the green energy mandates that had taken away the ability of oil to compete for a share of the market. Tom Homan was empowered to go get illegal alien criminals and deport them or send them to Guantanamo Bay. He went to work right away and began to round up criminals. We are on our way to making America great again, and I don't know if anyone can stop it.
Why would a stealthy Black Hawk helicopter be conducting training in the middle of an active flight path? Seems like a recipe for disaster, and—shockingly—it was. With years of "close calls" stacking up and an aviation industry stretched thin on staffing and oversight, a tragic collision like this starts to feel more like an inevitability than an anomaly. From under qualified aircraft mechanics to questionable air traffic control oversight, Tony Brueski and retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer unravel the unsettling reality of air travel safety in the United States. J2W was born through tragedy and loss. In 2012, founder Brody Schmidt lost his nephew who was serving his country as a U.S. Army soldier fighting the war on terror. On the morning of August 16th 2012, Suresh along with six soldiers aboard the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter were killed. Riding was a shared passion for Brody and Suresh. The day after the funeral of his Nephew, Brody went on a ride down the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu, CA. He dedicated that ride to his Nephew and from that day forward, Brody vowed to keep the memory of Suresh alive by journaling his rides and stories through social media. Thank you Brody for sharing this amazing story about your nephew and J2W with me and everyone who tunes in to my podcast. In 2006 we had a system called Common Missile Warning System (CMWS pronounced C-Moss) to protect us from incoming missiles. Shooting flares from the Blackhawk helicopter was an all too often scenario. Although this new system was computer controlled, the algorithm that told the system a missile was in bound was not very accurate. Due to this inaccuracy, we would often shoot flares for no reason while flying over Baghdad. Sometimes we even started brush fires after our flares hit the ground. We often scared the populace below with our random flares heading their way. Crew Chiefs had to carry extra buckets of flares to replace the buckets when they would get empty. We learned that changing them while the engines were still running, was not fun nor comfortable for the Crew Chiefs! Tune in for a few other funny stories regarding our CMWS! What does a Blackhawk Helicopter Crew Chief even do in the Army? A lot more than hold on to the gun that sticks out of the window that is for sure. I have always wanted to fly and chose this job in the Army when I enlisted, and finally have the chance to fly with the aircraft as a crew chief. We have challenges during the summer of 2005 with standing up a new unit. We were the last company to stand up, C Co 3-4 AHB! Warriors, hence warrior airlines! This video is a unique angle of a Blackhawk helicopter delivering water to a fire using a bambi bucket. When the helicopter is in position, the crew releases the water to extinguish or suppress the fire below. The shots consist of a take off from the staging field, dips from a nearby pond to get water and several drops on two different fire locations. This action takes place in the High Park Fire to try to mitigate spot fires in the area west of Fort Collins, Colorado. Available in High Definition.
