In this episode of Why Not Wellness, we delve into the popular 3-2-8 method of fitness. This approach is gaining traction for its efficiency and effectiveness, focuses on three core principles:3 - Refers to the three key components of fitness: strength, endurance, and flexibility. The 3-2-8 method emphasizes a balanced approach to training, incorporating exercises that target each of these areas to promote overall fitness and prevent injury.2 - Stands for the two main phases of a workout: the warm-up and the workout itself. The warm-up phase is crucial for preparing the body for exercise, increasing blood flow to the muscles, and reducing the risk of injury. The workout phase consists of a combination of strength, endurance, and flexibility exercises tailored to individual fitness levels and goals.8 - Represents the eight-week cycle that the 3-2-8 method follows. This cycle is designed to provide enough time for the body to adapt to the demands of the workout, while also allowing for enough variety to prevent boredom and plateaus. Each week, the workout intensity and duration gradually increase, helping to improve fitness levels over time.Throughout the episode, we explore the science behind the 3-2-8 method, its benefits, and how it can be customized to suit different fitness levels and goals. Are you ready to get freaking fabulous? Click the link below to start your complimentary week of live classes of weight training, Pilates and Stretching with me - your Movement Specialist!! https://www.smallspacepilates.com/offers/zsqW2LAvSupport the show

Tweetables: “The military makes you think that when you retire, to use a sports analogy, a first drawn draft pick. Everyone's going to be throwing money at you, contracts at you; I left thinking there would be music and balloons and confetti, and there was nothing.” — Cat Corchado [0:07:46] "After service, no one wants to hear anything you have to say about it, because no one understands. Sisters in Service is a platform that gives women a chance to say ‘This happened, and this is how I got through it', because there might be other women listening and struggling, and thinking they're the only ones when they're not." — Cat Corchado [0:12:10] "As veterans, if we don't help each other, no one's going to help us. So, we have to give each other that help, that leg up, that hand up. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!” — Cat Corchado [0:12:52] Links Mentioned in Today's Episode: Clubhouse Cat Corchado on Instagram Cat Corchado on Facebook Cat Corchado on LinkedIn Women Veterans Network Sisters in Service John Kelley on Instagram John Kelley on TikTok Beefy Marketing Beefy Marketing on Instagram Beefy Marketing on YouTube Beefy Marketing on Facebook

133: "Veterans, especially women, want to continue serving outside of the military. It's just finding that thing that ignites you." Today's female veteran with Cat Corchado It's been 22 years since Cat Corchado transitioned out of the military as an Air Force veteran that served for 20 years. Although she has enjoyed most of her civilian life as a personal trainer, it's only been in the recent years where she's asked herself, "What's next?" It was during the heart of the pandemic when she realized it was time to start the Sisters in Service podcast. In sharing her journey as a podcaster, she reflects on her surprisingly quiet military transition 22 years ago, how she enjoys supporting people to 'be better in their bodies,' being a female veteran in today's society, and much more. Cat Corchado joined the Air Force as a young, single mother and served a full 20 years. She retired when she was 42 years old and found herself unprepared for the transition to civilian life.  She found that her 20 years of military project management experience did not translate to getting hired for a comparable civilian position. She ended up becoming a personal trainer and a Pilates instructor in her 40s.   She's 64 now and still teaching Pilates, but that's just part of her story.  Cat found that she was missing the connection to other military women, so she began working with the Women's Veteran Network which is a nationwide network of peer support groups specifically for Women Veterans.  A little over a year ago, Cat saw a need to be able to reach more women veterans with information and inspiration, so at the age of 63 she decided to launch a podcast called Sisters in Service where she helps other women veterans make the transition from military to civilian life.
