To keep Americans and others around the world safe, CIA operates around the clock—and for some officers, that means overnight shifts. But when darkness falls over CIA Headquarters in Langley, some of those Agency officers have reported mysterious occurrences…things that might just be outside of traditional means of intelligence collection. Things that don't appear on satellite imagery, or leave digital footprints….or maybe any kind of footprints. And on this Halloween bonus episode of The Langley Files, Dee and Walter take you through the halls of Langley after nightfall, to let you in on a little-known piece of Agency lore: the CIA's ghost stories. From a secure CIA vault that shows strange signs of activity to a figure in CIA's elevators whose tradecraft seems to involve disappearing—altogether—these are ghost stories you won't hear told over most campfires. They're tales—from the SCIF. Look Inside this Bonus Episode: When it comes to CIA ghost stories, what you've heard is just the beginning. PART THREE: FINDING BIN LADEN. On May 2, 2011, officials with a “need to know” monitored the highly sensitive US operation against the most wanted terrorist in the world in real time. But for a CIA officer named Kevin watching that night, the mission against Al Qaeda's seniormost leader had a uniquely personal resonance. Because as a young Navy officer working in the Pentagon, he had nearly died on September 11th, 2001. Sustaining extensive injuries in the attack, he was rushed to Walter Reed Medical Center, where doctors were unsure whether he would survive; later, in recovery, he would flatline twice. But his story was far from over. Because Kevin would overcome his injuries, join the CIA, and ultimately take his place on the CIA team tracking down the terrorist leader who oversaw the attacks: Usama Bin Laden. And on this special, three-part episode of The Langley Files, Kevin returns to CIA Headquarters to share his incredible journey. In this third and final part of FILE 018, Kevin's story comes full circle. As the clock ticks down to perhaps the most famous special forces mission in history, Kevin shares with you a one-of-a-kind, insider's look at the final chapter of the search for Bin Laden. Hear what it was like in one of the designated centers watching the operation unfold live, the unique role Kevin played in the aftermath of the raid--and about the first phone call he made upon learning its outcome, to a person he met on September 11th, 2001. It's the powerful conclusion to a part of this story that's never been told--until now.Look Inside FILE 018 – Part Three: Kevin discussed the extreme secrecy in which the mission against Usama Bin Laden was planned, but you can now see a replica of the model of Bin Laden's Abbottabad compound that was used to prepare for the operation: Model of Abbottabad Compound - CIA.  It stands today in the CIA Museum. US forces recovered an enormous amount of material from Bin Laden's compound—and you can see much of it for yourself here, after public releases by the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in the interest of transparency and to enhance public understanding. The materials were sent all the way from Abbottabad to the United States for analysis—and you now know the CIA officer who brought key portions of it back to Langley just days after the raid.

Now You Know - Jack Ryan Season 4: Lesser-known Facts about the Hit Prime Video Series - Episode 106The Office star John Krasinski is set to return as the titular super spy Jack Ryan in the fourth season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. The new season will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 30th, and it will focus on Jack as he steps into the role of Acting Deputy Director of the CIA trying to root out the corruption within the organisation. So for today's Now You Know, we take a look at lesser-known facts about the series that even ardent fans of the show may not know. Lead star John Krasinski revealed that the CIA Headquarters in Langley granted the TV show's production unit access to locations inside the complex that were never used for filming previous films and TV shows. Talk about keeping it real! The series is based on Tom Clancy's series of novels, but unlike the previous adaptations, including film and TV shows, the Prime Video series is not based on any of Clancy's novels. Instead, the series has borrowed the characters and setting from the franchise and created original stories set around contemporary geopolitics. Such creative liberties can sometimes enhance the source material and even result in compelling adaptations.  For the first season, the scenes involving the antagonist Sulamein and his residence were filmed at a 13th-century kasbah, or a fortified citadel, on the outskirts of the Moroccan city Marrakesh.Australian actress Abbie Cornish plays the role of Jack's love interest, Cathy Mueller, in season one. In the show, she is depicted as an epidemiologist, and her profession is pivotal to the first season's plot. However, in the books, she is an eye surgeon. Robert Pine essays the role of Gerald Halpert in the sitcom The Office. His character is the father of Jim Halpert, who is played by Jack Ryan lead star John Krasinski. In real life, however, Pine is the father of actor Chris Pine, who played the role of Jack Ryan in the 2014 film Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Now that's just a beautiful coincidence. In the film Clear and Present Danger, starring Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan, Jack is ambushed in the streets of Colombia,  similar to the ambush scene in Venezuela in the second season of the TV series. Coincidentally, scenes set in Venezuela were filmed in the Colombian city of Bogota.German actress Nina Hoss essays the role of the fictional President of the Czech Republic, Alena Kovac. She is depicted on the show as the centre of power in the country, similar to the role of an American President. However, in real life, the Prime Minister in the Czech Republic is considered the ultimate leader of the government, similar to India and other European nations, and is more powerful than the President.  Well that's the Now You Know for today's episode , until the next it's your host Nikhil signing out.Aaj kya dekhoge OTTplay se poochoWritten by Ryan Gomez

I think it would be a lot more efficient and straightforward if all English-language news media were just run directly out of CIA headquarters by agency officials in Langley, Virginia. This way news reporters could eliminate the middleman and drop the undignified charade of presenting unproven assertions by western intelligence agencies as "scoops" that they picked up from "sources". I mean, right now the mass media are churning out stories about "intelligence" which says Vladimir Putin has decided to invade Ukraine very soon, citing government officials and anonymous sources. We are never shown the "intelligence", and we are never shown any evidence of its veracity; we're simply told what opaque and unaccountable government agencies want us to believe about a foreign government. We're not even reminded by the publishers of these CIA press releases that western intelligence agencies have a very extensive history of lying about exactly this sort of thing, and we're certainly not informed that Kyiv appears to be ramping up aggressions in eastern Ukraine. The top experts and thinkers of the world and the best comics in the Nation get together weekly with our hosts to discuss different topics each week, News, Culture, Politics, comedy & and more with an equal parts of knowledge and comedy! About Douglas London: Douglas London is a retired Senior CIA Operations Officer, an Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University's Center for Security Studies, and a Non-resident fellow at the Middle East Institute. He served predominantly in the Middle East, South and Central Asia, and Africa, including three assignments as a Chief of Station, the President's senior intelligence officer at post, and Chief of Base in a conflict zone. Assignments at CIA Headquarters included executive positions at CIA's Counterterrorism Center, Information Operations Center, and Near East and South Asia Division. London was decorated with the CIA's Career Intelligence Medal, the McCone Award, and multiple unit and individual citations. This revealing memoir from a 34-year veteran of the CIA who worked as a case officer and recruiter of foreign agents before and after 9/11 provides an invaluable perspective on the state of modern spy craft, how the CIA has developed, and how it must continue to evolve. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a modern-day spy, Douglas London is here to explain. London's overseas work involved spotting and identifying targets, building relationships over weeks or months, and then pitching them to work for the CIA—all the while maintaining various identities, a day job, and a very real wife and kids at home. The Recruiter: Spying and the Lost Art of American Intelligence captures the best stories from London's life as a spy, his insights into the challenges and failures of intelligence work, and the complicated relationships he developed with agents and colleagues. In the end, London presents a highly readable insider's tale about the state of espionage, a warning about the decline of American intelligence since 9/11 and Iraq, and what can be done to recover.
