Iyana was 16 years old when she disappeared in 2018. Though her body has never been found, jury has concluded her uncle Johnathan Quiles was responsible for the murder of her and her unborn child (which was said to be his). This is me tapping into their akashics to get the full scope but I must say it is spiritually alleged what I pick up.

It's the 3rd week in a row! I'm knocking out some heavy hitting interviews/conversations this season and this episode absolutely falls in line with the evolution that's occurring with the podcast. This one is centered around an actress that is truly on her way to the next level & her latest film that it's theaters right now. There are summer films that will get your attention, then there are movies that are summer blockbusters. The latest Will Packer Productions & Universal Pictures film, “Beast” is centered on a single father bringing his two daughters to Africa to build their relationship after their mother has passed. Idris Elba is doing his best to connect with his daughters, played by Leah Jefferies and Iyana Halley, but on a tour of a restricted area encounters one of the most feared animals in the world, a lion. How far will a father go to protect the only people in the world worth dying over? I was able to catch up with one of the stars of the film, Iyana Halley, as the movie has been out for 2 weeks & has received great reviews from audiences. And from her roles in TV and movies such as “This Is Us“, “Abbott Elementary“, & “True To The Game” just to name a few, she's got her sights on continuing to be a force in Hollywood. In this in depth interview, we discuss: Her acting career working alongside veteran actors/actresses such as Sterling K. Brown & Vivica A. Fox Working to expand her brand outside of acting How she feels about manifesting in her own life What she brought into the role of Meredith for “Beast” & co-starring with Idris Elba Addressing the latest story about how Idris Elba's daughter didn't get the role she was casted for What she would tell herself now from where she is currently What project she would like to take on next You can follow her on social media: @theiyanahalley & @iyanahalley. I'll be taking Labor Day Monday off, but rest assure I'll be back the following Monday with another great episode of the WDIDN podcast. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/therealsix5/message

When it comes to marketing, Black influencers are often used talent and just that. Across all social media platforms, Black ideas get popular and then become property of the rest of the world to consume. This would all make sense if the people who came up with those ideas got paid like the people who found them later and turned them into something easier to commercially digest. The world of a Black influencer is much like a Andre 3000 line, "I got more fans than the average man, but not enough loot to last me, to the end of the week." Far too Black influencers had to settle for peanuts while people who discovered the influence later were paid handsomely. It took a slew of Black influencers to bring the issue to the forefront and demand that brands pay Black influencers what they are due. I had this conversation with Iyana Edouard. Host of the "Wine, Weed and Weave" podcast. Iyana helps cannabis brands navigate the murky waters of social media. She has seen first hand how Black influencers in cannabis get paid little to nothing for basically creating marketing campaigns for brands. We discussed the problem between corporate brands and Black influencers, her amazing podcast and more. Firstly...almond joys are good. Now that we set that straight, in this episode... we have special guest Iyana Monet! She is an artist in the mediums of pretty much everything, especially dance. This week we talk about black history in dance and how almost all dance came from black people! Enjoy and stick around for the talkback with Jas! @iyanamonet
After a tumultuous year I found myself in master procrastination mode. The holiday doom and gloom hit me like a ton of brick and then BAM capitol breech. Fortunately (Or Unfortunately Depending on how you see it) I DID NOT talk about that on this episode. Instead I revisited the episode I've been sitting on. On the first half We sit down with the Dynamic Duo The Queendom To talk about their upcoming album, merchandise and their beginnings venturing into the group collaboration. On the second half I talk with Iyana Love and Hemi Amere about the movie Juice, it's cultural significance, whether or not Tupac should have gone full thug life, other important hood classics I should visit in the coming year. There were some technical errors but we pushed through and I will get the hang of this as we close out season 2. For the last episode we thought it was only right to shine the light on some amazing BAME organisations within the cancer community and hear short snippets of why they started and what they do. Leanne and Charlotte are joined by Beverley De'gale co-founder of ACLT, Jean representing Cancer Black Care, Iyana co- founder of Sakoon Through Cancer, Adedoyinsola representing Cancer Education and Toral representing BAME Cancer Support. It is so important especially with everything that has been going on this year that we come together and support each other and don't stand divided. What is lovely is each organisation has different focuses so if we need to refer people there is always an outlet. Together we stand.
