Back in 2007 making a superhero team up movie was not a sure thing. This did not stop Warner Bros, along with Mad Max, Babe, and Happy Feet creator, George Miller from coming up with the first big super hero team up movie "Justice League: Mortal". A writer's strike later, an unknown cast, and a non-committed Australian government would be too tough a foe for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and friends, and the movie would be lost before a single shot was taken.Join RD as he goes over the script and wonders if we missed out on a potential super hero masterpiece.Download the episode for free.

We bring the 2nd Unit back to dip our toes into Development Hell once again...kind of! As a pseudo-sequel of our Superman Lives episodes, we dig into the history of what was supposed to be Justice League: Mortal, the short-lived but fascinating first attempt at the superhero team-up. Directed by George Miller, written by Kieran and Michelle Mulroney, and starring a surprisingly young cast including Armie Hammer, Common, and Jay Baruchel, this goofy comic-book-accurate project met insurmountable obstacles on the way to production. We break down the full cast and story of this project (thanks in large part to cast interviews, articles from Collider, and the great work of the Canceled Movie Report podcast), go over a brief history of the Justice League, and explore the biggest reasons for this film's collapse: the Australian government and the 2007-2008 Writers' Guild of America strike. We marvel at the gambit of casting such young actors for such iconic adult roles, give a brief lesson on rabies symptoms, hypothesize future advancements in villainous tracking technology, have a fun discussion on currency conversion rates and tax credits, subject you to some truly awful Batman voices, remind you that Jack is still trying to track down a VHS copy of Nukie to torture Joe with, bring awareness to the pitfalls of bad acronyms/initialisms, Jack plugs his latest creative project, and we ask a question we've been wondering for some time: do the members of the Justice League all share a tailor? Suit up, settle into the Brother Eye console, and enjoy the show. In this episode, we take a look back at the epic JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL, the doomed JUSTICE LEAGUE film that was to be directed by MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and HAPPY FEET director George Miller. At one point, it was fully cast (including Armie Hammer as Batman/Bruce Wayne and rapper Common as Green Lantern/John Stewart), costumes were being designed by LORD OF THE RINGS' Weta Workshop, and large sets were even being built before everything came crashing down! Would it have been better than the Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon film that we ultimately got? Find out by clicking the video, and see for yourself!

If you haven't listened to Part 1 of our Justice League Mortal breakdown, you can find it here - https://www.buzzsprout.com/1190102/4439696On this episode of Meanwhile Back On The Podcast, It's another edition of Dead in Development, that's right listeners. It's the long awaited conclusion to our breakdown of Justice League Mortal. The George Miller lead Justice League movie that never made it to photography! The famed director of Mad Max fame, had the script, the players, costumes, locations etc. And then a combination of financing challenges, the famed writers strike of 2007-2008. And some believe it was none of those things and that DC & Warner Bros. Simply Put a kibosh on production because they saw no need for another version of Batman after the incredible re-imagining of the world's greatest detective in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight. Well, no one can say for sure, but it was one hell of a script that was largely adapted from one of he greatest Justice League stories of all time, from one of the greatest Justice League creative teams of all time. So, we're breaking it all down for you on this episode of Meanwhile Back On The Podcast.
El día de hoy, dejaremos de lado el ruido del Snyder Cut y conoceremos la historia detrás de una película de Justice League que nunca se filmó y que sería dirigida por el visionario George Miller

On this week's show, host Mario-Francisco Robles leads with the huge news that Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 is set to launch simultaneously in movie theaters and on HBO MAX on Christmas Day, December 25. He gives context for what this means, since folks are struggling to see this as anything but a loss for HBO MAX and Warner Media since the film would've easily cleared $1 billion at the global box office if they could wait until life gets back to normal in the states. In this new age we've entered, box office receipts are secondary to streaming dominance. From there, MFR fields two questions sent in by listeners. One is about George Miller's Justice League Mortal, and how the DC cinematic landscape would've looked very different if they film had managed to get made. The second is about which upcoming Marvel project he's most excited about (HINT: It involves the next Captain America!). Finally, he closes with how the family screening of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice- Ultimate Edition went.

(Yes, X-Men was first. But it wasn't a Marvel Studios film.) Drawing from some of DC's most beloved Justice League comic books, George Miller's vision for the Justice League was ambitious to the say the least. Talking the unproduced DCU script of Justice League Mortal that almost was a film in 2009. The one George Miller of Mad Max was going to direct. With Armie Hammer as Batman too. We go from start to finish through the whole story of this very interesting screenplay. More DC characters than one would expect, hard cut references, some bad ass fights and a few goofy things as well. But overall very neat stuff here. So come join us for another of our Unproduced Scripts segments as we talk the lost screenplay of Justice League Mortal by Kieran and Michelle Mulroney. You’ll notice the occasional awkward break and at times the audio is off. It really messed up our flow and left some awkward dead air. We’re working on getting all that out. By working on it we mean we’re waiting on anchor to update their damn app! On today’s episode we discuss some DC news! A few things they’ve dropped in the passed few weeks. Things like news on “THE Suicide Squad, “Birds of Prey”, and of course “The Batman”. After lots of rambling and nonsense we talk about our fan picks for who will don the cowl for the next installment of the caped crusaders cinematic journey. We hope you fight through and enjoy some part of it. We definitely think it’s a good one in the content department. As promised here is the link to the “Justice League Mortal” article by our friends over at Den of Geek! https://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/justice-league/246346/the-justice-league-movie-you-never-saw See you fools next week! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/WednesdayPull/message

Joe, Seb and James look at the Deadpool 2 trailer, and get suddenly quite excited when they realise who Rob Delaney is probably playing. And a seemingly innocuous bit of Daredevil S3 casting news gets us speculating about a possible adaptation of one of his best ever comics stories. There's also some chat about the Justice League: Mortal picture leaks, and we get around to going a bit deeper on how that Shazam costume is looking and what it might all mean. Are we actually... quite excited about an upcoming DC movie? Is this because our Disney cheques kept bouncing? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Never Ending Cliff Hanger Saga This week on the show Johnny and Brian are talking about This is Us and the recently released reports that Zack Snyder's ouster from Justice League may have been less than mutual. After listening to our episode this week make sure to hop on over and check out our new friends at the Rogue Squadron Podcast. Then hit up YouTube for the latest How It Should Have Ended: The Last Jedi. Was Zack Snyder Fired from Justice League? The road to Justice League arriving on the big screen was long and full of potholes. Even before Zack Snyder was ever attached to the project, George Miller's Justice League: Mortal was famously on the cusp of beginning its Austrailia shoot before production was delayed, leading to an eventual cancelation altogether. A few years later, Zack Snyder's success with Man of Steel convinced Warner Bros. to move forward with the team-up movie once again, green lighting Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice for Zack Snyder to bridge the gap from Man of Steel to a two-part Justice League team up. Comic book movies pretty much dominate the industry now. The Marvel cinematic universe launched in 2008 and we also saw what most consider the ultimate Batman movie, The Dark Knight. It's crazy to think that things might have gone another way. In 2008 we also saw a Justice League movie enter production directed by George Miller of Mad Max fame. Unfortunately the film ran into a series of hold ups until it was eventually cancelled. This week we take a look at the Justice League movie that almost happened. Written By: Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney Logline: An evil force secretly pits the worlds super heroes against each other, causing them to team up and form the ultimate force of justice. In 2007 a live action Justice League movie was greenlit that would have been directed by Mad Max: Fury Road's George Miller, starring Armie Hammer as Batman in a cast of mostly young and unknown actors. The movie was cancelled just days before the shoot was set to begin, leaving cast and crew heartbroken, and robbing fans of what may have been a faithful adaptation of the world's greatest super team-up. If it had continued, Justice League would have brought Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern together on the big screen a year after Marvel's Iron Man and three years before Avengers. Let's discuss what could have been one of the greatest comic book movies of all time ... and one that would have changed the course of superhero films forever.
Today we go over what new comic books that came out on 08/08/17, venomverse and what Justice League we almost got back in 2007
