Things seems super chill around education these days. Wait—do they? Strange Country co-hosts Beth and Kelly talk about the current state legislation being passed to ban the instruction of Critical Race Theory in K-12 schools, something that isn't happening. So since it's not happening, what is happening instead is banning the instruction of anything associated with race or racism. As the Brooklyn 99 folks like to say, cool cool cool cool cool. He - a professional photographer and co-founder of the project “A Taste of Taiwan”. Year 2018 after the success of the first timelapse film, Henrik Matzen had a dream - to bring his partner Jonas Høholt, a timelapse artist & editor, with him back to Taiwan. He wanted Jonas to experience a bit, because Jonas did all the editing of that first video, but he never saw that country and he never experience anything of it. He didn't know the smell of the night market or all the delicious foods you can get from there. He didn't have any idea about it. So only way to make him experience all these was to bring him there, and let him to shoot something for this sequel of Timelapse film. Let him experience just a bit of it. The first challenge was the money issue. Henrik had the plan to get the sponsorships to cover the expenses. This starting point almost stopped him going further. Several times he thought it is not going to happen. But it happened on 2019. Henrik was very familiar with Taiwan. Year 2005 his very first trip landed on the soil of Taiwan, he felt home. Ever since he travelled every year to Taiwan for the business and in the free-time he went around the island with his 30 kilos of camera gear and parts. He went to mountains, lakes, countryside and Taipei 101. He stayed there for 4-5 hours to wait for the sun to set and to rise. Eventually he gets to know another timelapse lover Jonas who just lives some blocks away from him in Denmark. First time they met in a coffee shop. Of course Henrik brought his works to show to Jonas. When Jonas saw all the scenes Henrik had been shooting, he said ‘Wow, this is amazing! We should make something. I wanna to edit it for you.' Drinking coffee and eating cake with the beauty of Taiwan, that moment they started to call the work ‘A Taste of Taiwan'. The project became a baby from both passionate Timelapse photographers. The 4th of July, 2019 the film ‘A Taste of Taiwan II' was released. And that afternoon - the taste and the feeling, flowing between both Henrik Matzen and Jonas Høholt remain eternally in every moment in that film.Timelapse & hyperlapse photography by: Henrik Matzen and Jonas HøholtMusic tailored and composed by Joona LättiTimelapse films -A Taste of Taiwan, released on May 29, 2018, https://youtu.be/e_WRJzk22pEA Taste of Taiwan II, released on July 4, 2019, https://youtu.be/nF9QbdkZ-TY訪談節目播出時間和頻道:July 19, Mon, 21.00pm, Turku 91,5MHz, Cable 93,7MHz & 93,9MHzJuly 20, Tue, 21.00pm, Helsinki 100,3MHz, Elisa cable 98.7 MHz (time is subject to change 12.7-8.8)Podcastings are availabe in various channels, for example:Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/fi/podcast/dongxinanpei-radio-program-podcast/id1003085317Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0fqCDwHKQO5ypXsFj11Vi6tunein: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Podcasts/DongXiNanPei-radio-program-p740308/?topicId=131275667Direct listen from DongXiNanPei - http://setala.sdf.org/DongXiNanPei/Love_on_the_Move_series__Christine_Bejerasco.mp3ps.

In this episode Sandy talks about her thoughts on why being a great dancer does not necessarily make you a great teacher
In this episode Sandy talks about choreographing pieces and performance. Choreographing does not equal being able to perform your creation. I have choreographed for individuals who can better dance what I created than if I were to deliver it. Choreographing alone does not ensure success. Once the piece is created, the dancer needs to learn it by heart and then "perform" it. There's a difference between learning a routine and practising it to performance level ( another podcast to come on that )
In this episode Sandy talks about why she loves teaching the basics to beginners in bellydance
Hollywood icon Jimmy Stewart served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His experiences flying bombing missions had a lasting impact on the actor. Biographer Robert Matzen says Stewart made the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life" while working through PTSD. Matzen discusses Jimmy Stewart's war experiences on The Steve Fast Show.
The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Robert Matzen, Author of Mission: Jimmy Stewart and the Fight for Europe. About Robert Matzen: Robert Matzen is the author of seven books, including the award-winning Errol & Olivia: Ego & Obsession in Golden Era Hollywood and the bestselling Fireball: Carole Lombard and the Mystery of Flight 3, which rose to #2 on the Amazon bestseller list for Biographies, won the 2015 ‘Biography of the Year' Benjamin Franklin Award, and earned praise from the Smithsonian Institution. Regularly interviewed by international press, including the New York Post, Hollywood Reporter, and BBC, Matzen's previous print work includes many articles about classic films, and the Greenwood Press reference volume, Carole Lombard: A Bio-Bibliography. His work as a filmmaker earned national awards and his feature documentary about George Washington, When the Forest Ran Red, is a genre classic. He has also written and directed several films for NASA. In March 1941, Jimmy Stewart, America's boy next door and recent Academy Award winner, left fame and fortune behind and joined the United States Army Air Corps to fulfill his family mission and serve his country. He rose from private to colonel and participated in 20 often-brutal World War II combat missions over Germany and France. In mere months the war took away his boyish looks as he faced near-death experiences and the loss of men under his command. The war finally won, he returned home with millions of other veterans to face an uncertain future, suffering what we now know as PTSD. Younger stars like Gregory Peck were now getting roles that might have been Stewart's, and he didn't know if he would ever work in Hollywood again. Then came It's a Wonderful Life.
