Kicking off at number five, we revisited Episode 34 with Nigel Moore, titled "Perfect MSP Pricing." This episode is a must-listen for anyone struggling with the intricacies of MSP pricing strategies. Nigel, the founder of The Tech Tribe, delves into the essentials of structuring your pricing to avoid the all-too-common bespoke deals that can stifle an MSP's growth. We discussed the continual evolution of pricing models and how establishing standard packages can significantly streamline your sales process and client onboarding. The fourth spot is claimed by Episode 75 with Daniel Welling, discussing how to "Increase the Value of Your MSP." This show is crucial for MSPs considering their exit strategy or simply aiming to enhance their business valuation. Daniel's expertise in M&A shines through as we cover the importance of preparing your MSP for a potential sale from the ground up, emphasising long-term contracts and a robust operational structure to attract serious offers. Next, at number three, is Episode 125 with my business partner Stuart Warwick, on "Picking Low Hanging Fruit." This episode focuses on the pivotal role of effective account management in not only maintaining but also expanding your client relationships. We outlined a five-step process to refine your account management strategy, ensuring that your business consistently nurtures and grows its existing client base, thereby boosting your profitability without the constant chase for new leads. The runner-up in our countdown is Episode 182, titled "Help, I Need to Get Out of My Own Way," featuring a heartfelt discussion with Mark Stevens. Burton Cummings' voice has been rated among the finest in rock music. Today he continues at the top of his game as performer, singer, songwriter, poet and recording artist. As lead singer and songwriter for Canada's original rock ‘n' roll superstars, The Guess Who, Burton scored an unprecedented string of international hit singles and albums including “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” “Laughing,” “No Time,” “Share the Land,” “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature,” “Clap for the Wolfman”, “Albert Flasher” and others, all written or co-written by Burton. By 1970, The Guess Who had sold more records than the entire Canadian music industry combined before breaking up in 1975. The group achieved a long list of firsts including first Canadian group to reach #1 on Billboard charts -- holding that spot for three weeks - and first to earn a platinum album for U.S. sales of more than one million copies. Rolling Stone magazine hailed The Guess Who as “one of rock's most consistently fascinating maverick bands” with a succession of songs “that has few equals among contemporary North American groups.” Dick Clark described the group as rock innovators and ambassadors of Canadian music. Beginning his career as a solo artist in 1976, Burton continued his winning streak with a gold record for his solo debut single “Stand Tall,” produced by legendary hitmaker Richard Perry who numbered among his clients Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon and Ringo Starr. The choice of producer was evidence of Burton's star power in the music industry. He followed his inaugural solo success with more than a dozen hit singles and albums including “I'm Scared,” “My Own Way to Rock,” “I Will Play a Rhapsody,” “Timeless Love,” “Break It to Them Gently,” “Dream of a Child,” and “You Saved My Soul.” Sold-out tours across Canada and the United States solidified Burton's stature as a top entertainer. He starred in several highly rated television specials and, between 1977 and 1980, earned five Juno Awards for Best Male Vocalist and Best Album, serving as host of the annual Juno gala a record four times. Burton's 1978 album Dream of a Child became the first quadruple platinum-selling album by a Canadian artist. Through the ‘80s and ‘90s, Burton continued to tour and joined Beatles drummer Ringo Starr's All Starr Band. In 1980, a starring role in the feature film Melanie with Miami Vice star Don Johnson earned Burton a Genie Award for Best Original Song. He also launched his acclaimed Up Close and Alone solo concert series. A live album of the same name followed. The success of Lenny Kravitz' cover of “American Woman” in the hit feature film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me brought renewed attention to the original Guess Who. The group reunited in 1999 for the closing ceremonies of the Pan-American Games with a television audience numbering in the tens of millions. Several high-profile North American tours followed. As the VOICE of all the classic Guess Who hit songs, Burton has toured with his long-time band, for the past twenty-three years across North America as well as joining Randy Bachman onstage as Bachman Cummings, performing his songs from the original The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Burton's solo career. Described as Canadian rock ‘n' roll royalty, a national treasure, and a living legend, for Burton Cummings there has always been one constant: he remains true to himself and his own way to rock… and continuing to perform the songs the way they were originally conceived by the artist who sang and wrote/co-wrote them. Burton joins us this week to share his musical story and lets us know about his other passion - writing poetry. For more information head to his website burtoncummings.com
BURTON CUMMINGS THE LEGENDARY VOICE OF THE GUESS WHO 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS' EPISODE 10 Burton Cummings is the legendary voice, songwriter, and keyboardist for Canada's own classic rock superstars The Guess Who. Although the group has had numerous personnel changes throughout the years, the most prominent members have been Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman. Cummings was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His first band was an R&B group called The Deverons. The band released two singles on the REO Records label. In 1965, Cummings joined The Guess Who replacing Bob Ashley on keyboards and eventually Chad Allan on vocals. The Guess Who scored commercially with their first international hit “These Eyes” (#6 Billboard Hit) in 1969. The track was featured on their album Wheatfield Soul on the RCA record label. The single was written by Bachman/Cummings and was their first to reach the top ten. The Guess Who followed with a succession of Top 40 hits including … “Laughing” (#10 U.S. Hit, #1Canada -written by Bachman/Cummings) and “Undun” (#22 U.S. Hit). 1970 would prove to be the most pivotal year for The Guess Who. The group scored (2) #1 Hits in the U.S. with “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature" and “American Woman” the group's biggest selling single. The Guess Who also spawned the hits …. “No Time” (#5 U.S. #1 Canada -written by Bachman/Cummings), “Hand Me Down World” (#17 U.S. Hit) and “Share The Land” (#10 U.S. Hit -written by Burton Cummings). Randy Bachman left The Guess Who in 1970 and would eventually form Bachman- Turner Overdrive. Subsequent albums released by The Guess Who … Canned Wheat (1969), American Woman (1970), Share The Land (1970), So Long, Bennatyne (1971), Rockin' (1972), Artificial Paradise (1973). In 1973, Burton Cummings and The Guess Who released one of the group's most underrated albums entitled The Guess Who #10. The album was a clear diversion from the band's roots but spotlighted brilliant lyrical content and virtuoso musicianship. The album featured Burton Cummings composition “Glamour Boy.” The track was a jab at David Bowie's glitter rock insurgence. The album also featured the profound “Cardboard Empire” written by Bill Wallace and Kurt Winter, while hauntingly performed by Cummings. In 1974, The Guess Who collaborated on their final Top 40 single entitled “Clap For The Wolfman,” (#6 U.S. Billboard Hit) an applicable tribute to legendary radio and TV personality Wolfman Jack. Subsequent releases: The Guess Who #10 (1973), Road Food (1974), Flavours (1974), Power in the Music (1975), The Way They Were (1976). The Guess Who disbanded in 1975. In 1983, Bachman, Cummings, Jim Kale and Garry Peterson reunited as The Guess Who to play a series of Canadian gigs and recorded the Together Again live album and video. Bachman and Cummings reunited again in 1997 to perform in Winnipeg for a disaster relief fund raiser. An eclectic Guess Who reunion ensued in 2000 featuring Bachman, Cummings, McDougall, Kale, and Peterson. Bill Wallace eventually replaced Kale while the group toured regularly through 2003. A live album and DVD followed at the end of the 2000 tour. The Guess Who was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2001. Cummings received an additional Star in 2011. The Guess Who performed for an estimated 450,000 people at Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto, a benefit concert in 2003. The Guess Who continues to tour with only original members … drummer Garry Peterson and bassist Jim Kale. Burton Cummings also amassed a widely successful solo career. He landed a huge hit with “Stand Tall” (#10 U.S. #1 Hit Canada) in 1976. Burton Cummings solo albums …Burton Cummings (1976), My Own Way to Rock (1977), Dream of a Child (1978), Woman Love (1980), The Best of Burton Cummings (1980), Sweet Sweet (1981), Heart (1984), Plus Signs (1990), The Burton Cummings Collection (1994), Up Close and Alone (1996), Above the Ground (2008). In 2002, The Burton Cummings Theatre for the Performing Arts in Winnipeg, Manitoba was renamed to dedicate the singer and songwriter. In 2008, Cummings released the highly- acclaimed CD Above The Ground. All the tracks on the release are written by Cummings. The album also features his touring band The Carpet Frogs. In 2009, Cummings received the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honors. In 2012, Burton Cummings Massey Hall was released –an incredible live CD recorded in Toronto. Most recently … Burton Cummings is on a summer tour. He'll be releasing a book of poetry soon entitled, ‘The Writings of B. L. Cummings,' and a video series called RUFF. I had the rare opportunity to chat with Burton Cummings recently about the summer tour, the true origin of “American Woman,” The life and times of The Guess Who, Canada, Wolfman Jack and so much more! I knew there was something I really liked about Bielefeldt! Turns out she's from IA and knows what it's like to save up your babysitting money to go get the latest music at MusicLand! April has followed Duran Duran throughout her life and shared her love of the song "My Own Way." April remembers finding out about Duran Duran from her cool school-aged friends. Then in college, her and her artsy friends would enjoy new music together. Now April is a photographer in Las Vegas. She has photographed many bands. When the talent is exactly cooperating, she uses this song to give herself the confidence to run the shoot her way. She also likes to use it to set the vibe of the photo shoot. Maybe she plays in the background or maybe it's just running through her head to get herself in the right headspace! Full Show Notes

It's a fucking killer second album!"

Since Stephanie continues to insist on watching all the dramas, it’s time to see what other dramas are coming up and if there is anything else out there she needs to make space for. We’re seeing fun things like Busted 2, Chocolate, Bon Voyage 4, Vacation in My Own Way (with Eric!), Love with Flaws, and more! We also take a moment to answer the age old question, who is your Kdrama actor bias? To read the complete show notes, please visit the official website.

Episode 67: Duran Duran - Rio (1982) - Part 2 Never before has it taken Brian more than two days to edit an episode, but this week, while working on part two of the discussion of Duran Duran's classic 1982 album "Rio," it seems that he wasn't up to the challenge! But you know, years from now, when Brian & Sarah are two of the most popular podcast hosts in the world and almost everyone over the age of 40 either wears a P.R.P. shirt or sports a sweet P.R.P. tattoo, no one will remember that this episode was four days late - they'll just be really happy that it's available for download! Track-by-Track (Continued): So this week, your hosts finish up their discussion of side one, getting the opportunity to talk about some fantastic music, including the immortal classic "Hungry Like the Wolf." Other topics are also touched upon such as: the incredibly disco-y first version of "My Own Way" what's a better look - a red headband or a red scarf? on which track does John Taylor's bass playing sound like a sea lion? who is a better matador: Highlander's Adrian Paul or Host Brian? (hint: his FB poll question seems to indicate it's Brian!) how many times did they have to release "Hungry Like the Wolf" before it finally became a US hit? and so much more!! I so am grateful to all of the guests that I've interviewed this year! I'm so grateful to all of you who were mentioned in this episode (see references below). To summarize what we talk about in this episode: First, we have to recognize the status of the industry. Change is happening. It's inevitable. The need to lower risk from the owner perspective MUST happen. We talk about demography, and the impacts on Corporate Real Estate (CRE), buildings and infrastructure, attracting millennials, recruiting and retention. How the change in culture is affecting retail, but the economy as a whole, and policy. And last but not least we talk about how companies are looking at sustainability and health in their organizations. You'll be hearing from a few more guests in part two of the 2017 Constructrr Podcast recap next week. Over the lifespan of digital music there has been a constant desire to control the copying of the data. Various watermarking and copy-protection schemes were put in place to ensure that folks wouldn't share music. But no matter how protected the data there was always a weak link between the digital realm and the realm where you could listen to music. That was referred to as the analog hole; the moment when the digital signals become sound waves that your ears and brain perceive as music. Luckily for us in the Creative Commons realm we can still share digital copies of our favorite music. We don't have to worry about exploiting the analog hole; it's just another part in the enjoyment of our music. We've got a great collection of Creative Commons Licensed metal music lined up for you in this episode. We have music from Plague Mass, Imminent Attack, Mosh, Norilsk, Mindslaved, Desdinova, Machete, and Snake Thursday. It's a show you'll be happy didn't stay locked in the digital realm forever. Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Music Superstar, Burton CummingsAbout Harvey's guest:Today's guest, Burton Cummings, guest is a legendary singer, songwriter, and recording artist whose stellar body of work over almost 6 decades, is timeless. His voice is widely considered to be one of the greatest and finest voices in the history of rock music. As lead singer and songwriter for “The Guess Who”, he recorded a string of international hit singles including “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” “Laughing,” “No Time,” “Share the Land,” “No Sugar Tonight,” “Clap for the Wolfman”, and many more great songs, all written or co-written by our guest. The Guess Who was the first Canadian group to reach #1 on the Billboard charts, and they were the first to have a platinum-selling album in the U.S., with sales of more than a million records. After the group disbanded in 1975, our guest embarked on an even more spectacular solo career, with a whole slew of hit singles and gold records including “Stand Tall,” “I'm Scared,” “My Own Way to Rock,” “I Will Play a Rhapsody,” “Timeless Love,” “Break It to Them Gently,” “Dream of a Child,” and “You Saved My Soul”, which earned him a Genie Award when it was featured in the movie, “Melanie”, in which he co-starred. His brilliant 1978 album, “Dream of a Child” became the first quadruple platinum-selling album by a Canadian artist. He has also published 2 volumes of poetry. The list of accolades this man has received is truly jaw dropping. He's won 5 RPM Awards, 6 Juno Awards, 22 SOCAN Awards and 3 SOCAN Classic Awards, 3 BMI America Awards, and the Genie Award that I already mentioned. He's received an honorary doctorate from Brandon University in his home province of Manitoba, and he's also been named to the Order of Manitoba. And in 2009 he was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. He's received TWO stars on Canada's Walk of Fame – one as a member of The Guess Who, and one as a solo artist. He's been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame AND the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and he's the recipient of the SOCAN lifetime achievement award. And although he is a global superstar and a member of rock ‘n' roll royalty, here in Canada he is our very own national treasure and a living legend. He's currently on a North American tour playing to sold out audiences, but he's taken time out of his very busy schedule to appear on our show. For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/To learn more about Burton Cummings, go to:https://www.burtoncummings.com/https://www.facebook.com/burtoncummingshttps://www.instagram.com/burtoncummings/https://x.com/burtoncummingshttps://www.tiktok.com/@burtoncummingshttps://open.spotify.com/artist/5ziVRv2caoBDNG2fythJ2n?si=9jSeQX0NRlm0yQeXClv0hghttps://music.apple.com/ca/artist/burton-cummings/213444@harveybrownstone,#harveybrownstone,@harveybrownstoneinterviews,#harveybrownstoneinterviews,#burtoncummings,@burtoncummings,#TheGuessWho,#RandyBachman,#Canadianvocalists,#CanadianRockStars,#FallsviewCasino,#OLGStage,#AmericanWoman,#IWillPlayaRhapsody,#BreakIttoThemGentlyAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
