The vision of Vedanta is that you are Brahman, the limitless being. It is not possible to see this wisdom without the grace of Brahman himself or herself as Bhagavati. It is not possible to see this wisdom without seeing the world as a manifestation of Brahman. And so we worship the wisdom and intelligence permeating the world as Devi Sharada or Saraswati, the Goddess of wisdom to bless us, especially around Vasanta Panchami after the onset of spring in Bharat. We have an added connection to Devi Sharada who is the presiding deity of Dakshinamnaya Peetha of Sringeri. Sharada Sugirtharajah's edited volume Religious and Non-Religious Perspectives on Happiness and Wellbeing (Routledge, 2022) explores the theme of happiness and well-being from religious, spiritual, philosophical, psychological, humanistic, and health perspectives. Taking a non-binary approach, it considers how happiness in particular has been understood and appropriated in religious and non-religious strands of thought. The chapters offer incisive insight from a variety of perspectives, including humanism, atheism and major religions such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism. Together they demonstrate that although worldviews might vary substantially, there are concurrences across religious and non-religious perspectives on happiness that provide a common ground for further cross-cultural and interreligious exploration. What the book makes clear is that happiness is not a static or monolithic category. It is an ongoing process of being and becoming, striving and seeking, living ethically and meaningfully, as well as arriving at a tranquil state of being. This multifaceted volume makes a fresh contribution to the contemporary study of happiness and is valuable reading for scholars and students from religious studies and theology, including those interested in interreligious dialogue and the psychology of religion, as well as positive psychology. We are continuing our “Age Series” with Sharada Lakhan, Licensed Psychologist, who will NORMALIZE the CHAOS of the 20s with us. Sharada received her doctorate in counseling psychology in 2016 and previously received a JD from Hamline School of Law. In her spare time she loves to cook, dance, garden, volunteer, and spend time with friends and family. If you missed the first episode of this series go CHECK IT OUT on all MAJOR PLATFORMS right now. There are different levels of CHAOS, blessings, lessons, heartache, happiness, desires, goals, dreams, and ideologies throughout the lifespan and we wanted to do a series that would reflect the growth, highlight the accomplishments, illustrate similarities, and NORMALIZE the CHAOS throughout the years. We will be having multiple guests, of a variety of backgrounds, join us for each decade and discuss careers, goals, love, friendship, and advice they'd share for those currently in that age group. Additionally, we have two special episodes scheduled, with a panel of guest speakers, discussing divorce and the journey to motherhood. Please remember and respect the experiences, thoughts, and opinions of those interviewed throughout the series. Not every single experience or piece of advice may resonate with you or your family; take from the series what applies. We value the experiences and uniqueness of each individual person and have a zero tolerance policy with regards to hate, discrimination, bullying, harassment, or negative slurs. We truly hope you enjoy this series and welcome all feedback!

I initially approached Ellen on the basis of discussing her written work, and her current position at Broccoli Magazine, but it soon turned into a trio convo that, serendipitously, has come out the other end in what I can only describe as an ode to friendship, and the ways in which their’s supports them on a personal and professional level. What started out as a mutual disinterest in their peer’s gusto for Biology, not to mention Sharada’s innate styling of Dungarees, has led to the eventual co-founding of Muff, “a bi-annual magazine of feminism and esoterics.” I hope you lend us an ear as, once again, the friendship honed between ladies shows to be one of connection, collaboration, and sisterhood.
