The subject of battery systems can be a bit dry. So get yourself some Classic Coke (my favourite) water (nature's favourite) or white rum & coke (Heiner's favourite) and let's dive in. Sidestepping the risk of being a bit too dry, I'll present this using a few analogies.

Have you been circling something in your practice for years? Maybe you know there's more to say, a seam you haven't mined, a truth you keep sidestepping. The work is there, waiting. But you're afraid. Today, Ceri talks about the fear of making the work you're supposed to be making—and what it takes to finally face it, explaining, how to name it, drag it into the daylight, re-address it, and then turn it into creative fuel. From Ceri´s experience of working with 1000s of artists over 35 years, every great work, whether tightly conceptual, minimal or wildly expressive, begins with an artist willing to face themselves. The question isn't only what you make, but whether you're able to be with yourself long enough sitting in the uncomfortable valley of knowing and not knowing to let the work be born. He acknowledges asset-backed cryptocurrencies offer a possible alternative, since they are still under the government's radar. Opting out of the current financial system is a viable option, but asset backed investments are still small relative to the overall financial system. Most people do NOT know about government or nonprofit or corporate contracts, which means quite often that the same people and companies year after year get a slew of contracts from local, state, federal government, and I don't like that. I want us to have diversity in how our government serves us, and I want to make sure that marginalized communities and those who are not at the table, who are not normally “in the know” - you know, those good ole boys club backroom deals - KNOW about the ways to get to that table. And government contracts are a surefire way to be in the know, to be AT the table - but you have to know they exist, and it's a way to make money and serve your community - and if you never know, you can never put your hat in the ring. So today, we're talking about getting GOVERNMENT and NONPROFIT and CORPORATE clients through bids, and proposals. We're also going to touch on the fact that once you get those, often, the doors open up to you in ways you can't even imagine, that then makes it easier for you to get more traditional clients, too.
