Adelaide 2022 has been avenged. India's pursuit of an ICC title appears on track after a 68-run mauling of England in Guyana. England were handed a proper drubbing and this victory will feel a lot sweeter for India as they have made light work of the reigning champions. After the defending champions crashed out in Guyana, English media started crying foul, questioning ICC's decision to allot the second semi-final to India irrespective of their Super Eight standing and the fact that Rohit Sharma's men were the only top side not to play a single match under lights during the entire tournament.  India's campaign in the tournament has mirrored their performance in the home ODI World Cup last year. They cruised into the final unbeaten, only to be outdone by Australia on the big stage. This time, they remain unbeaten and have been the standout team of the tournament. Crucially, Australia, who thwarted their hopes previously, are not in their path to an elusive trophy. South Africa, whose sole ICC event victory was in the 1998 Champions Trophy (then called the ICC Knock-Out Trophy), approached the final with their hopes and dreams. Often labeled as "chokers" throughout their international cricket history, the Proteas are determined to shed this reputation at the Kensington Oval. After having tasted contrasting outcomes in the WTC final and ODI World Cup final, Barbados 2024 could complete the redemption arc for Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid and Team India. The Indian fans had to suffer twin heartbreaks at the hands of Australia, first in the WTC final in England and then the 2023 World Cup final at home. But now, the unbeaten run presents Rohit an opportunity to finally redeem himself after losing two ICC finals albeit in different formats. In the latest episode of the Sledging Room Podcast, Saurabh Kumar, Kingshuk Kusari and podcast debutant Rishabh Beniwal preview the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 between India and South Africa. Jeremy Fredericks | Cricket Commentator The Proteas have safely secured their passage through to the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, with their final group stage match against Nepal on Saturday inconsequential to the final standings.  The match is, however, an opportunity for head coach Rob Walter and his men to find some much-needed confidence, particularly in the batting department. The Proteas' top order struggled in the side's three matches at the pop-up Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Long Island, New York, which is currently being taken down. South Africa are unbeaten in the tournament after beating Sri Lanka by six wickets, edging the Netherlands by four wickets and scraping past Bangladesh by four runs. The victories were largely set up by South Africa's relentless bowlers, who were ably assisted by the tricky wicket at the Nassau County ground. The top order failed to get going, however, and were bailed out by the middle order in all three matches. Quinton de Kock has been the most successful, with scores of 20 and 18 and a duck wedged in between when he was run out at the non-striker's end without facing a ball.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fast and Furious action unit director Spiro Razatos shares rags to riches story and how seeing the movie Shaft at age 11 inspired him on his path to becoming a Hollywood Stuntman. Apple Podcasts users full show notes here: https://languageofcreativity.podbean.com/e/spiro-razatos-friendslikefamily-fastandfurious-action Spiro Razatos began his career as a stunt man and quickly worked his way into the Directors Guild of America just by asking. Somehow, on the spot producers gave him his very first sequence directing a car chase! Since then Razatos has 2nd Unit Directed major films such as Venom, Bad Boys II and Bad Boys For Life, films in The Fast and The Furious franchise (Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, Fate of the Furious, F9), and Captain America Winter Soldier, to name a few. From Denver, Colorado and the son of Greek immigrants, young Spiro began training himself to be a stuntman after a fateful day when his dad took him on a Greyhound to visit the zoo. His father, who was also blind had saved for six months for the trip, but they never made it to the zoo. Eleven year old Razatos saw the marquee for the movie Shaq and begged his father to take him to see it… that day. “I started crying and said I don't know, I just need to see it now.” He practiced jumping off of roofs (don't try this at home) and crashing his own bicycles until he was finally able to get a Super Eight movie camera. He'd managed to get his home-made stunt reel onto the set of Heart to Heart, when legendary stunt coordinators Mike Vendrell and Greg Barnett finally called him and told him they would help him come to Hollywood. In this episode we talk about the magic of visual storytelling, the importance of shooting practical stunts and how CG (computer generated elements) can totally ruin the believability of a sequence, why Spiro always hires his own editor (the one he's had his whole career) spending hours at the end of every shooting day to present the sequence to the studio. We talk about his work/life balance and yearly trips to the “ashram” to detox. But most importantly Spiro highlights the importance of having a team of people you know and trust with your life. His stunt team, Team Malaka has been with him for over 30 years, oh yeah, and of course we talk about his favorite “team building activity” playing Call of Duty 2. A Cup Of English

Have you ever heard of the word ‘tacky'? This a word that I love. It's actually more of an American term than an English one. I thought about this word yesterday as I was driving with my daughter. She was driving and I was looking out of the window at the different buildings and building signs. Here in the United States, business signs can tend to be very big, very tall, and very brightly colored. We had stopped at a traffic light, and on my right, I saw a hotel sign that said Super Eight. This is a chain of popular, cheap hotels here in the US. The sign was very high, very large, and bright yellow with red letters. I thought to myself, “How tacky!” Now tacky means two things. The first and original meaning is sticky. The second meaning is cheap, and bad taste. I decided to look into the etymology of the word, meaning it's history. Interestingly enough, it was originally used to describe a weak horse. Perhaps there is a connection between a weak horse and the word tacky because of the production of glue from animal bones. That is just my guess. It is interesting how words develop and change their meanings over time. Nowadays in the United States it is very normal to hear the word ‘tacky' describing something that is cheap, gaudy, and very bad taste. Personally I like the sound of it. It is easy to say, and sounds like a slap. Often we use the phrase, “That is not tacky (at all)” to sarcastically call something tacky, to point out its tackiness. Examples of these sentences can be quite amusing. Examples of ‘tacky': 1. The paint is still tacky, so don't touch it yet. 2. I can't believe that she wore that beach dress to the funeral, how tacky! 3. It's tacky to give a present that someone else gave you. 4. Put the glue on the wood first, then, when it has dried a little, and is tacky, you can put the new countertop on. 5. So many souvenir shops are full of cheap, plastic, tacky items. 6. I see that you decorated the Christmas cake with broken, plastic reindeer. Ha! That's not tacky at all! to go to my Youtube channel.

James Britt, founder and owner of Britt Films, a freelance cinematography and filmmaking business, identifies himself as a cinematographer. More than just capturing a video, he tries to add an element of cinematic technique and look to it, and he tries to give everything he does an artistic appeal. James has a great deal of passion for teaching anything that he learns, and he loves to share whatever he feels is good information. The advice he gives any budding videographer as to using this skill set to gain money is you absolutely can. You just have to really work at it. You have to market yourself, brand yourself, put your name out there, be producing good work consistently, and let people know that this is something that you do. Watch the epsiode: Listen to the podcast: James Britt, Owner Of Britt Films, A Freelance Cinematography And Filmmaking Business (Creating Videos With Cinematic Technique And Look) We have James Britt, the owner at (https://www.brittfilms.com/) . Incredibly fortunate he took time out of his day to come see us. James, welcome to the podcast. It’s great to be here. James, tell us a little bit about your business and who you serve. I’m the founder and owner of Britt Films, a freelance cinematography and filmmaking business. Primarily I shoot digital videos for hire, all kinds of things. Anything ranging from businesses who need a commercial, a web ad and ad campaign, organizations who need promotional videos, interviews, personal services like wedding videography. I shoot music videos for bands, all kinds of things. Specifically, I identify as a cinematographer, which a lot of people don’t know what that is, but I’m sure if they’ve heard of videographer and usually when you think of videographer, it’s someone that’s capturing the video. A cinematographer would differ in that I’m more than capturing the video. They are trying to add an element of cinematic techniques, cinematic look to it. The angles and the shots will be a little bit prettier to put it more simply. In everything that I do, I try to give it an artistic appeal. More than you capture whatever we needed recorded, it looks great. It looks good. Actually, I try to make everything look more like a movie as the way that I put it. I would say that I’m doing these services for anybody who needs video. I can’t think of anyone or any type of organization that I wouldn’t be able to benefit if they had a video need. Backing up a little bit and thinking about as you grew up, were you always drawn to cinematography? I’m reminded in film school how many times the professor would ask something to the class about, “This is the first day of the semester. Tell me about yourself.” How many people would say, “I knew when I was four years old that I wanted to be a film maker. My dad got me this Super Eight camera, this old Polaroid photography camera.” I wish I could say that. I didn’t. I want to be a rock star or a psychologist or an English teacher, hairstylist for a little bit, I was all over the board. My mom did have a video camera and I’d love to say the moment I picked it up, I knew, but I picked it up and I thought it was fun and then I got bored of it. It was something that I happen to keep getting drawn towards. Eventually, the way that I decided I wanted to go into it was I was a volunteer in my spare time. I was volunteering at a local church where I lived. I knew how to play guitar and I was helping the high school age group by playing guitar and helping with the band. Every time we’d get a new teenager who had to play an instrument, they needed to learn how to do the songs that we did, and I got tired of teaching the exact same songs over and over again. I figured, “I should record this.” YouTube was out. It was getting popularity and I figured it’s free, I could put something on there. I found a
