Learn more here; https://bit.ly/3TSFYY4   Campfire Conversation: Eric and Ana discuss Wisconsin's five designed scenic byways and why each is a beautiful drive, with a little help from our friends. Jon Jarosh from Destination Door County joins for a look at the Door County Coastal Byway, 66 miles of beauty and charming towns on the Door Peninsula along Highways 42 and 57, from Sturgeon Bay north to beautiful coasts, state and county parks, and towns like Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, Gills Rock, Baileys Harbor, and Jacksonport. Mary Motiff from Bayfield County (and the mayor of its county seat, Washburn) joins for the Lake Superior Scenic Byway conversation. The Byway covers 70 miles along Highway 13 in Bayfield County, showing off the beauty of the northern coast of the state from near Ashland through Washburn and Bayfield over to Cornucopia, Port Wing, and Herbster with beaches, forest, orchards, wineries, and even the first National Tribal Park in the nation along the way. Josh Ostermann joins Eric and Ana in The Cabin for a look at the others (yes, pizza gets a mention.) The Nicolet-Wolf River Scenic Byway is the newest, covering 145 miles through the Nicolet National Forest and along the beautiful Wolf River, which has a National Scenic River designation. It winds through Forest, Langlade, Oneida and Vilas Counties along segments of Highways 55, 52, 32, and 70 with connections to a wide variety of multi-use, all-season trails. The Lower Wisconsin River State Scenic Byway covers 100 miles along Highway 60 from Lodi to Bridgeport by Prairie du Chien, giving you a nice cross-section of Wisconsin's incredible Driftless Area and the shifting courses of the Wisconsin River and its valley. Finally, Wisconsin's segment of the Great River Road gets covered as it runs along the Mississippi River from East Dubuque to Prescott. This multi-state byway actually begins in Minnesota and follows the Mississippi River for 10 states until it ends in New Orleans, Louisiana, but Wisconsin's segment is the most scenic (by many measures, not just ours!) It covers 250 miles, much of it along Highway 35, through 33 river towns. These include some of the oldest settlements in the state, the dynamic city of La Crosse as well as Prairie du Chien (the only place where two state designated scenic byways meet) and charming smaller towns like Trempealeau, Stockholm, Pepin, Alma, Fountain City, and Potosi. You can enjoy many scenic overlooks, with some great birding opportunities including bald eagles. All in all, Wisconsin's five designated scenic byways provide over 600 miles of road trip beauty and fun. Learn more here; https://bit.ly/3TSFYY4 Campfire Conversation:Eric and Ana – with Logan too – hit the water in this Campfire Conversation, highlighting some Wisconsin's “Must Visit” water recreation locations.  Much of the conversation begins in the north, with the Apostle Islands and its bevy of options in Lake Superior. The Brule River, known as the “River of Presidents” for its history as a popular fishing and getaway spot for U.S. presidents in the early 20th century, also gets some love as its flows into Lake Superior not too far to the west. Hopping the subcontinental divide, the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway offers all of fun and natural beauty you could expect from a river. The Wild Rivers Conservancy is active along the river, and the waterfalls coupled with fishing, paddling, and hiking along the shore offer abundant options for an adventurous day. We also cover the Vets on the River Program, which is active on the St. Croix. Flowing into the St. Croix in western Wisconsin is the Apple River, which offers tubing, floating, and a variety of popular water recreation activities in the areas around Somerset, making it a big summer destination. Of course the Wisconsin River gets its due, whether you're fishing in the Eagle River area, water skiing with the best of them in Wisconsin Rapids, touring the sandstone and limestone bluffs around Wisconsin Dells, or kayaking the Lower Wisconsin Waterway. The Wolf River runs through much of the North Woods and offers unbelievably amazing fishing. Ana dives into the Madison “chain o' lakes” (literally too, in real life) as she and Eric discuss the many options of Lake Mendota, Monona, Wingra, Waubesa, and Kegonsa in the Capitol region. Other chains of lakes popular in Wisconsin also draw a wide variety of water recreation opportunities, including the chains around Eagle River, the Cisco chain on the Wisconsin-U.P. border west of Land O'Lakes, and the Waupaca Chain O'Lakes. In the south, Geneva Lake and its nearby companions – including Delavan Lake and Lake Como – draw plenty of crowds but still offer areas of serenity. Geneva Lake is one of the deepest spring-fed lakes in the state; Green Lake, in central Wisconsin, takes the title of the deepest. Its also hugely popular for boating, fishing, and water skiing. Up for whitewater rafting? Head to northeastern Wisconsin and check out the rapids on the Menomonee River! Comparisons to rivers in the Mountain West are frequently made to a section of the Menomonee between Niagara and Pembine, where the rapids and drops are truly an adventure. The Peshtigo River in Oconto and Marinette Counties also offers fantastic kayaking and canoeing; the whole area teems with waterfalls. For extra twists and turns, we recommend heading to the Driftless Region in southwestern Wisconsin and exploring the Kickapoo River, which is one of the crookedest rivers in the Midwest – if not the country. Some great options for rentals can be found in Ontario, near Wildcat Mountain State Park. We didn't forget the cities, either: explore charter fishing opportunities off the lakeshore in Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Port Washington, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Algoma, Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, Oconto, or Marinette on Lake Michigan, or from Ashland, Bayfield, or Superior on Lake Superior! And for paddling in urban areas, it's hard to beat the La Crosse area on the Black and Mississippi Rivers – especially Pools 7 and 8 – or kayaking amidst the bustling action and tall buildings in Milwaukee on the Milwaukee, Menomonee, or Kinnickinnic Rivers in the heart of the city. Let's just say your options are many – and we offer plenty to choose from on The Cabin today! Inside SponsorsVISIT Lake Geneva: https://bit.ly/3wHvilfGroup Health Trust:  https://bit.ly/3JMizCXMarshfield Clinic; All of Us Research Program; https://bit.ly/3Wj6pYj

Harmon fished competitively through his high school in Eagle River - anarea amidst the World's Largest Chain of Interconnected Freshwater Lakes – and continues to in college.Fishing teams among schools are growing significantly (which makes sense, since fish cluster in schools, too.) Part of the conversation includes how the tournaments work and how they're growing in thestate. We also discussed best times of the season to fish – depending in part on what types of fish you'reafter – and the benefits or lack thereof of various types of cover. Some locations noted include “pools,” including Pools 7 and 8 in the Mississippi River in the La Crossearea and the Winnebago Pool waters consisting of Lakes Poygan and Butte de Morts along the FoxWaterway heading into Lake Winnebago, where sturgeon spearing is quite popular in winter. The watersin Green Bay and Lake Michigan around the Door Peninsula and Sturgeon Bay offer unique world classfishing opportunities. Chains of lakes include the largest in the Eagle River and St. Germain areas, as wellas the Hayward Lakes chains along with the Chippewa Flowage in northwestern Wisconsin. In centralWisconsin, the chain of lakes around Waupaca and the Mendota/Monona/Waubesa/Kegonsa chain in the Madison area offer excellent fishing, with smaller gems nearby like Hope Lake, Lake Ripley, and RockLake in Lake Mills. Spring-fed Green Lake is another fishing gem, and with depth going down severalhundred feet, it is the deepest inland lake in the state. Along with Lake Winnebago, Lake Koshkonongoffers many benefits of shallow lake fishing, especially with many areas offering cover. The manyinterior rivers of Wisconsin offer incredible fishing opportunities, with some of the best being Wolf Riverin northeastern and central Wisconsin, the Brule River in northwestern Wisconsin (known as the “Riverof Presidents” for its history), and the Kickapoo River in the Driftless Area, where trout streams abound.Along the Great Lakes coastlines, areas like Bayfield on Lake Superior and ports at Sheboygan, Algoma,Kewaunee, Port Washington, Racine, and Kenosha offer fantastic options for charter fishing and evenjust fishing off of piers and breakwaters. The bottom line? If you want to fish, Wisconsin has practicallyevery option you could want in nearly every part of the state across every season. Inside SponsorsGroup Health Trust: https://bit.ly/3JMizCXHo-Chunk Gaming: https://bit.ly/3l2CfruMarshfield Clinic; All of Us Research Program; https://bit.ly/3Wj6pYj

Jeff Buckley released his only studio album, Grace, at the height of grunge rock. But it didn't sound like grunge. It sounded like nothing else out there. It defied categorization. It was full of originals and covers, some complex and cerebral, others straight-up pop. From the pissed-off punk takes to the Eastern-influenced meditations, the constant was Jeff's voice. A voice unlike any other. A voice that could do anything. A voice that was singing out loud on May 29, 1997, when Jeff Buckley, just 30 years old, waded into the Wolf River in Memphis…and never came back. I was not sure how the 7300 would compare/perform relative to a Xiegu G-90 or Icom 705.            I noted you used a RigExpert AA-170 in your video on the Chameleon Wire Loop. My Internet searches reference an upgraded model - ZRE-230-Zoom. Would you recommend this model or have other suggestions?           The ground radials on the Wolf River setup are 33 feet. Space in my yard is limited, will there be deterioration in performance if I am unable to extend out all 33 feet? Can they be laid out in other than a straight line?           What coax would you recommend for a feed line for the Wolf River setup? Heat, humidity, and Sun are all issues here in central Florida. I am thinking 25 feet would be about the right length and cost is not much of a consideration.           Are coax connectors all generic or are their specific manufacturers (and types) I should look for?           In the most recent podcast, you mentioned an Anderson crimper tool. Any suggestions for a wire stripper tool?           Last question, would a multimeter be a wise item to have to check installation? If yes, any recommendations?   Mike is a VE: http://wx0mik.net/   Congrats Nathan on winning the last email of the week for the majority of weeks over the past month.  General License Prep: Someone suggested in the HRCC Podcast Channel in the Discord that if Leah gets more than 4 questions right, Josh has to eat a York peppermint patty. Does he eat one? What is there to DO this summer??? Many families have had to cancel vacation plans and trying to figure out how to entertain children (and adults) amidst a pandemic can be overwhelming. Maria and I have both taken to being “tourists” in WI and planning day trips and outings within the region. We discussed many of these options today and thought we would compile links and tips to help all the friends because summer is long…  First a shout out to Go Valley Kids https://govalleykids.com/ What a great site that has compiled so many awesome things to do: Mural Hunt in downtown Appleton, Places for a Sunday Drive, Summer Bucket List, 60 Spots for Ice Cream in Northeast Wisconsin, a day trip to Waupaca, Beaches, if you aren’t following this page you should. Their facebook page is filled with so much information - right at your fingertips. Maria took her kids and some of the kids in their “bubble” tubing on the Wolf River. http://wolfrivertrips.com/ has everything you need to know about taking your own trip. Who doesn’t want to float on the river for a few hours? Maria and Michelle both visited the Paine Art Center and Gardens recently and were quite impressed with the levels they are going to to keep everyone safe. Reservations in advance are required (pay at the door) and the garden gnome hunt is such a fun way to spend a few hours in the mansion and gardens https://www.thepaine.org/events/admissionreservations/ Why not hit an outdoor patio at Fox River Brewing Company, Beckets or Mahoney’s after, go on a mural hunt downtown or get some custard from one of the many places in Oshkosh Carmel Crisp, Rhapsodies, Leon’s or Ardy and Ed’s.  Michelle is finding things to do between Wausau and Oshkosh with her sisters and nephews. JoJo’s Jungle https://www.jojosjungle.org/ a park for all abilities in Wausau; Stevens Point Sculpture Park http://stevenspointsculpturepark.org/ and a trip to Belts Ice Cream or a trip to the Neenah Splash Pad in Washington Park https://www.ci.neenah.wi.us/departments/parks-recreation/splashpad-washington-park/ (and ice cream) are on the short list of things to do. State and County Parks are always a fun trip, car ride, walking, picnic, maybe stop for a treat lots of fun for everyone and every ability. Parks are also fun for all well into fall, with color change and more. Some of our favorite parks: High Cliff State Park https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/highcliff/ Dave’s Falls https://gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/daves.shtml Fronferek Glen https://www.browncountywi.gov/community/parks-department/general-information/ Dells of the Eau Claire River https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/Lands/naturalareas/index.asp?SNA=109 Newport State Park https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/newport/ Peninsula State Park https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/peninsula/ Cave Point County Park https://www.doorcounty.com/experience/cave-point-county-park/ Roche-A-Cri State Park https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/rocheacri/ KohlerAndrae State Park https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/kohlerandrae/ The drive in movies and mini golf/go carts are another thing fun for all ages two of our favorite places to check out are: Field of Scenes Drive-in: https://www.fieldofscenes.biz/ Badger Sports Park for mini-golf and go-cart outdoor fun: https://badgersportspark.com/ And for adults why not take out from your favorite local business and eat at a local park if you don’t feel like eating at home. Or turn on a baseball game and grill and do an at home tailgate. Mondo and Rye are offering fun dining out options in Appleton, popular in Oshkosh at Planet Perk in the Grind are picnic lunches by local food trucks https://www.facebook.com/PlanetPerkinTheGrind and https://www.facebook.com/newfoodtruckmashup has great offerings in Oshkosh and Appleton. We’d love you to join the conversation, what are your favorite regional places to visit? Day trips within the state? How are you keeping yourselves and family busy this summer? On Wednesday, a mining exploration company got a step closer to drilling into the earth near the Wolf River in Oneida County. The county’s Planning and Development committee unanimously approved a permit for Badger Minerals to drill up to ten exploration holes on a private plot of land. The company wants to find out if the area could be a good place for a metallic mine. But, if it wasn’t clear before, public backlash demonstrated there’s plenty of opposition in the Northwoods. It’s the first exploratory drilling permit the county has approved under a revised zoning code on mining. Badger Minerals, a Michigan-based subsidiary of a Canadian company, is seeking to drill ten exploration holes to an average depth of 400 feet. Some of the holes would be within a few thousand feet of the Wolf River. If the company moves forward, it would be the first mining-related exploratory drilling in Oneida County since at least the 1980s, and the first in Wisconsin since drilling in 2012 at the Bend

Many Wisconsin State Parks have closed along with National Forest recreation areas, leaving many to seek different ways to enjoy the outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wolf River, which starts in Forest County and runs through the entire length of Langlade County, offers opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods while practicing social distancing. Bill Kallner has been fishing the Wolf River for decades. Each time he visits the river he enjoys the beauty and solitude. “What you may see out there—eagles, otters, bears—it is just phenomenal. The solitude. There are hundreds, thousands, of people who use it every year, you can still find a place all to yourself,” Kallner said. “It is always special.” The river, as it runs through Langlade County, is accessible because the State of Wisconsin owns roughly 80 percent of the land adjacent to it. There are 14 access points along Highway 55 from just south of Pickerel all the way to the Menominee Indian Reservation. What

Everyone's favorite synchromystic returns to THC to pick up where he left off and continue breaking down the Cocteau Twins crazy saga that has span generations and doomed several artists. 3:00 Kicking things off, Greg and Chris start by recapping the highlights from their previous episode about the "Song To The Siren" saga. Chris walks through the important points, including it's release by singer/songwriter Tim Buckley, the 1983 channeling by Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser, her subsequent love affair with Buckley's son Jeff and his untimely drowning death in the Wolf River. Knowles pontificates about the overwhelming synchronicities and the possibility that these are keys unlocking the simulation. Chris also touches on the heavy ritualism surrounding the Vegas shooting and the connection to the Cocteau Twins and their album "Heaven or Las Vegas". 13:00 Greg and Chris break down the symbolism revolving around the number 9, from the 27 years that have passed since the release of "Heaven or Las Vegas" when Fraser was also 27, to the binary significance behind the date of the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Knowles explains the importance of the number 27, it's association to the return of Saturn, it's connection to Fraser, the Vegas shooting, and occultation of Regulus by Venus. Chris elaborates on the symbolic importance and emphasis placed on Regulus, the elite's use of star magick, and this year's "beauty and the beast" alignment. 23:00 Greg and Chris circle back to discuss the link between Area 51 and the Harvest Festival. As Knowles points out in his blog post, there are countless connections, ranging from Paddock's employment at the firm responsible for the faulty part that caused the Challenger explosion and his fabricated gambling success, to his unending resume of government employment and attempt to blow up a Area 51's commuter planes, before firing into the crowd. Greg and Chris continue by examining the odd correlation between the release date of the Cocteau Twins album "Heaven or Las Vegas" and Paddock's arrival in Vegas. 33:00 Greg and Chris discuss the role of N.A.S.A., their ritualistic undertones, their connection to Paddock, as well as the deaths of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. Knowles explains the thinking behind N.A.S.A.'s date of inception, the significance behind the occultation of Regulus and the synchronicity with the numbers 4-9. Chris also points to 2017's Super Bowl performance as setting the tone of 2017, a year seeped in occult symbolism, essentially one long ritual cycle. 42:00 Putting the fine touches on the Pentagon disclosure conversation, Greg and Chris cover Harry Reid's involvement in enlisting the help of billionaire founder of an aerospace company, Robert Bigelow, and Reid's injury at the hands of an exercise band. Chris ties these coincidences back to what he calls "the star vega" phenomenon, which appears to be incredibly critical in the ritual understanding and has even ensnared this year's American Girl doll, an astronaut with the surname Vega. 56:00 Continuing this discussion about 2017's box office hits, "Beauty and the Beast" and "Star Wars", Greg and Chris pivot to another film and actress that also share a connection to the Cocteau Twins, Emma Watson and "Perks of Being a Wallflower". Knowles expands on the symbolism and ways the song "Pearly Dewdrops Drop" has been used in a ritualistic fashion, as well as the prominence of mermaids and sirens in the collective psyche and their archetypal dominance in the new age. Dekkoo.com Launches First Original Series from Director Morgan Jon Fox “Those fragile moments shine in “Feral,” whether it’s a midday swim in a nearby creek or a romantic date in the cypress-strew marshes along the Wolf River. The series is more than a love letter to Memphis, however. Fox set out to tell an authentic queer drama, where queer people have loved and lost not just because they were queer.” –  OUT.com* (New York, NY) August 9, 2016 –Like HBO’s “Looking” or “Girls,” but set in Memphis, Tennessee. That’s how creator Morgan Jon Fox characterizes “Feral,” a Dekkoo.com original TV series that debuts October 6 exclusively on the subscription streaming service dedicated to gay men. In “Feral,” Fox (who also serves as the series writer and director), weaves a tale of survival as a group of 20-somethings learn about love, loss and friendship while living in the vibrant, artistic queer community of Memphis. The storyline revolves around the lives of Billy and Daniel, two best friends sharing a comfortably broken in bungalow in the diverse neighborhood of Midtown. It begins when the two are forced to kick out their third roommate, after discovering his heroin addiction. “Feral” creator Morgan Jon Fox  •  photo by Breezy Lucia Known for gritty southern stories about characters on the fringe, Fox describes his protagonists as, “…kids who are left on their own, whether it’s financially, whether it’s identity, or whether their lovers are deceased. Whatever that is, they’re left to their own devices to carve their own way. They’re feral beings.” While shows like “Looking” and “Girls” may have provided the template, the Middle America Memphis setting and vibe is what sets “Feral,” refreshingly apart from its predecessors. Missing are the stock characters, the hipsters, the clichés that are predictably trotted out in gay dramas large and small. “You won’t see the gay stereotypes you see in shows set on the West or East Coast,” promises Fox. “Now, my characters have their issues,” Fox explains, “but I didn’t want them to be based in cynicism. I wanted their motives and struggles to be pure and honest in a way that wasn’t just, ‘I’m a spoiled rich person without meaning in my life.'” That the characters are queer is not beside the point–it’s embraced–but it’s not the point, either. Jordan Nichols (Billy) and Tristan Andre Parks (Hart) in “Feral” “Feral” is not only the first TV series in which thousands Middle American LGBT 20-somethings can finally see themselves realistically reflected, but a welcome window through which everyone–gay or straight–can vicariously experience what life is like for the young gay millenials in the American Heartland. “There are so many stories that are set in New York or L.A., but I feel that we have a story to tell that is uniquely southern,” say Fox. “Memphis is a big city, but because we are in a sense living off the grid, in the Bible Belt, and without the supportive institutions that exist in big coastal cities, we have created our own community, and I think that’s what’s so beautiful about coming up in Memphis.” Seth Daniel (Daniel) in “Feral” “‘Feral’ is about a group of gay kids in their 20s growing up in Memphis, Tennessee–and I am one of those things,” says actor Seth Daniel, who plays Daniel. “It was interesting to take what I experienced growing up in the Mid-South and adapt it to the character. It wasn’t so much that I was playing my character Daniel, as it was that Daniel and I were playing the character together. What’s striking in “Feral”–and beautifully evident in all of Fox’s projects–is his ability to create endearing scenes of authentically touching–sometimes heartbreaking–intimacy: a quiet embrace in the woods, a twilight conversation on the couch, a softly spoken journal entry. Fox has directed four feature films including, “Blue Citrus Hearts,” “OMG/HaHaHa” and “This Is What Love In Action Looks Like” – all informed by his painful coming out as a gay man in the conservative south – and has been called one of the originators of the “Memphis Style” of filmmaking known for strong, authentic performances, improvised scripts and tight editing. Filmmaker Magazine named him as one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film”. “Feral” boasts a soundtrack featuring numerous artists from the Memphis area. Headed up by country-punk band Lucero, it also includes songs by the post-punk quartet Nots and on-the-verge breakout musician Julien Baker, whose debut album “Sprained Ankle” was named “one of the best albums of 2015” by The New York Times. “Feral,” a Dekkoo only original, debuts October 6, 2016. “Feral” leads: (l-r) Leah Beth Bolton, Chase Brother, Seth Daniel, and Jordan Nichols  •  photo by Breezy Lucia

Lost over time are the details of her involvement on the first voyage of Christopher Columbus into the unknown. The further they sail from land, the more his crew begins to doubt their safety. They second-guess his idea to search for this new trade route. The moral becomes so bad that Columbus starts loosing faith and looks to the Madonna for guidance. Getting home from this new world requires supplies and they are not easy to procure for the long voyage back to Europe. Enduring a hurricane and with more storm clouds threatening, Columbus gathers his sailors and requests they all pledge to honor and thank the Virgin Mary should they make it back home. It is but one of the many times people come to call at this site, translated into English as “Saint Mary by the Wolf River.”  One feature of apparition history also surfaces during these early times. There appears to be no place where selfish gains are remembered during apparitions of the Virgin Mary.
