Traci Fenton is the CEO of WorldBlu with a personal purpose and passion to help 1 billion people live, lead and work in freedom rather than fear. We have never lived in a time with so much fear and Traci has dedicated the last 25 years of her professional life in service of helping leaders and organisations in over 100 countries. WorldBlu has certified organisations across the world for 17 years who embrace freedom centred leadership principles. Those organisations have experienced an average of 700% greater revenue growth over a three-year period compared to S&P 500 indexed companies. Traci was raised in a spiritual family, both parents were teachers and Traci realised as a young 10-year-old girl that her purpose was about helping other people which later developed into giving power to people so that they can be free and live their full potential and infinite worth. Organisations across the world have a responsibility to be a force for good and create the conditions for everyone to be their best. When companies operate democratically it ripples out to increase the level of peace, economic prosperity and civil engagement for that organisation. The bedrock for Freedom at Work is based on Mindset. Leaders must handle fear day to day. Traci explains we have approx. 60,000 thoughts per day. 80% of those thoughts are the same thoughts that we had the day before and 95% of those thoughts are negative and fear based. Traci helps leaders with her five-step process to recognise their fears and overcome them. The 5 questions are:1. What are you afraid of?2. Why are you afraid? 3. So what would you do if you were not afraid?4. How would you feel without that fear?5. Why is it ok to let the fear go?In this episode Traci also outlines the 3 pillars of Freedom Centred Leadership. Power, Love and the powerful concept of Ubuntu. Listen to the full episode for more details. www.worldblu.com‘Freedom at Work' is available on Amazon.

Oh and for whatever energetic reason on that day, Traci selected me out of 40 or so people to be her guinea pig to go through the Power Question practice, 5 years on I am very clear why that happened ! Observing and having experienced the world changing as I have since 2017, I am so crystal clear that now is the time for corporations and businesses en masse to evaluate seriously WorldBlu's approach. When it comes to work freedom is the last thing we think about. Most of the places we work at for instance use some sort of a hierarchy. But what if you could truly have freedom at work? What if you really mattered? What if your opinion mattered? What if you were given more choices within your job? When we think about those questions depending where you are at in the hierarchical chain you may see it as a utopia or simply impossible. On this episode of A New Direction Founder and Owner of WorldBlu Traci Fenton takes us on the beginning journey on moving your business from a dictatorship into a democracy, where people experience freedom at their work. You as a leader may be saying to yourself, "it's not possible to give people freedom and be successful". As Traci Fenton will share with you that companies that have embraced a true democracy guided by her company Worldblu in the course of 3 years experienced a 700% revenue growth....that is not at typo, 700%. You will hear Traci restate in the show. The fact is embracing democracy and leadership democracy in your business is going to take a shift in mindset, design, leadership, and most of all courage. So if you are ready to grow take a listen as Traci Fenton and Jay Izso talk about her ground breaking book, "Freedom at Work"! Welcome, Tracy. Traci: Great to be with you. Thanks for having me. Marlana: So today we're going to talk about a fearless mindset. And first let me ask you what you really mean by fearless? Is it just fearing less? Is it absence of fear? Is it talk to us a little bit about that? So, we have a basis? Traci: That's a great question. There's a lot of ways to look at what fear is. A lot of people when they think of fear, they think of the acronym False Evidence Appearing Real which I love. It's a way of describing fear. I like to think of fear as a limited point of view of what we're capable of and what we're not capable of doing. Why I say this is because the brain research tells us that the average person thinks 60,000 thoughts a day, and 80% of those thoughts are the exact same thoughts we had the day before and have those exact same thoughts. 95% of those thoughts are negative and fear based. Marlana: Oh! Wow! Traci: And so, most of the time, we're thinking fear based thoughts. And we might not even realize it, you know, we tend to use words like, I feel stressed, or I feel rushed, or I feel anxious, or I'm limiting myself, or I want to up level and I can't get there or excuses or lack of personal accountability, all of that when you dial it down, it comes back to fear, it's at the root of it. And another thing that's very interesting about fear is that when we're in a state of fear, the peripheries of our brain shut down, and we become myopic. So, we literally have a limited point of view. And so that's why I like to think of fear as a limited point of

Bob Chapman, Chairman & CEORecently named the #3 CEO in the world by Inc., Bob Chapman is very intentional about using his platform as a business leader to build a better world.Chapman is Chairman and CEO of St. Louis, MO-based Barry-Wehmiller, a $3B global manufacturing business with almost 12,000 team members. The company began as a small pasteurizing and bottle washer business in 1885 and, through acquisition and organic growth, has grown into 12 business units serving primarily the packaging, paper converting, sheeting and corrugating industries. Chapman became the senior executive of this private company in 1975 at age 30 when the 80-year-old business had $20 million in revenue, outdated technology and a very weak financial position. Despite the obstacles, Chapman applied a unique blend of strategy and culture over the next 40 years in leading Barry-Wehmiller through more than 100 successful acquisitions.Over the past two decades, a series of realizations led him away from traditional management practices to what he now calls Truly Human Leadership--a people-centric approach where his employees feel valued, cared for, and an integral part of the company’s purpose. At Barry-Wehmiller, they have a unique measure of success: by the way they touch the lives of people.Chapman’s experiences and the transformation he championed were the inspiration behind his 2015 WSJ bestseller Everybody Matters: The Extraordinary Power of Caring for Your People Like Family. The book is co-authored by Raj Sisodia, founder and co-author of Conscious Capitalism.Chapman regularly writes about the powerful intersection of people-centric leadership and good business strategy on his blog, TrulyHumanLeadership.com, and on LinkedIn, where he is an Editor’s pick. In 2016, Harvard Business School released a case study featuring Barry-Wehmiller’s unique approach to business.Chapman’s list of speaking engagements include the Aspen Ideas Festival, Conscious Capitalism events, Fortune Scale Up Summit, TEDxScottAFB, the 2016 US Congressional Retreat, WorldBlu, CEO Global Leaders Forum, International City Managers Association, the AME International Conference, Institute for Healthcare Consumerism Forum, Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence Conference, HERO Forum for Employee Health Management, and numerous others.Chapman shares his leadership journey and the story of Barry-Wehmiller whenever he can as it is an example of the way businesses and organizations should be: focused on creating value for all stakeholders—team members, customers, communities and shareholders. Not only is it the right thing to do, it creates meaning and fulfillment for team members.Chapman has a BA from Indiana University and an MBA from Michigan.
Wouldn’t you love to live, lead, and work in freedom? Traci Fenton is the founder and CEO of a global leadership and transformation company called WorldBlu. What makes her company special is their unique model called ‘Freedom at Work,’ and helping people find freedom in their lives is the WorldBlu’s mission. They’ve worked with Zappos, Groupon, WD40 and 65 other countries worldwide. Freedom vs. Fear Traci and WorldBlu teach people to live, lead, and work in freedom rather than fear. To do that, they tap into a deeper sense of love which results in freedom. In 20-something years of teaching this Traci realized something very important. Sometimes she would hit a brick wall with a company for no discernable reason. Traci discovered that most people have negative voices in their heads which directly affect self-worth, and if a CEO has self-worth issues, then they’re going to be threatened by employees with freedom. She shares one of the best - and worst - moments in her life at a Tony Robbins convention that drove this point home. And she also shares the profound reason why she doesn’t have the negative inner voice. The Self-Worth Test This isn’t a complicated test. In fact, you can do it right now. Answer this: On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your self-worth right now, and why? When Traci was speaking to a room of about 100 CEOs, she asked them this question and asked them to raise their hands if they had an 8 or higher. You’d expect most of them to raise their hands; they’re successful CEOs, after all. But only 3 raised their hands. That’s one thing, but the more interesting part is when they answer the ‘why’ part of the question. Traci shares some of the answers she received when she asked why people ranked themselves lower. Why You Are a Perfect 10 True self-worth isn’t tied to anything outside of us. Our worth is inviolate and baked into who we are. Traci points out that our worth is separate from wanting to improve and always be better. She shares some of the common characteristics of people who understand their self-worth: joyous, humble, lifting others up, consistent, loving, and more. She shares something very profound: Your PURPOSE is your reason for being. Your MISSION is what you do with it. Traci shares a story about coaching her nieces and nephews the way she does adult CEOs, and the surprising revelation that came from it. The Ultimate Protective Factor Kevin and Traci can both agree that purpose is an anchor. It’s what protects you when the world presses in around you. Consider the connection between purpose and self-worth. When we have low self-worth, it’s ‘me’ thinking, whether it’s negative or not. But when our self-worth becomes higher, infused with purpose, the thinking turns outward and we’re committed to serving others. One exercise that Traci recommends is to have a mantra that you say to the ‘gremlins’ - the negative voices - as soon as they appear. She explains how this simple trick works and why it’s so effective. Final Thoughts Here’s a question to ask yourself when you’re dealing with negative gremlins and low self-worth. How would you handle the situation if you WEREN’T afraid, if you WEREN’T listening to those gremlins? Second, if you’re at a 4, what would it take to become a 5? Is it internal or external? Finally, if you decided to spend the rest of your day living and acting like a 10, what would that feel like? Traci encourages you to run an experiment for today: live it as a 10. The TED of Transformation My friend Vishen Lakhiani’s exploration of peak human potential began in 2001, when he took meditation classes to remedy his crushing work stress in a New York technology company. This soon inspired him to launch Mindvalley: a company bringing transformational education to the world Back then, shortly after he launched some of his first meditation apps, I actually hosted Vishen on the podcast , in which we geeked out on meditation, and the meditation apps that Vishen and his team began designing. After 15 years, 3 million students, and numerous accolades from the likes of Huffington Post, BBC, Inc. Magazine, and WorldBlu, Mindvalley became recognized as one of the world’s top workplaces, and a leading publisher in the personal growth industry. But Vishen’s vision extended further. He believes many aspects of mainstream education remain dangerously stuck in obsolete industrial revolution-era paradigms. And that the evolution of humanity’s consciousness is lagging behind our innovations in technology. This makes the evolution of our education - or as he calls it, Transformational Education - one of our most pressing concerns. Through Mindvalley, Vishen now works with governments, education institutions, technology innovators, artists, and the world’s best teachers to create deeply transformational learning experiences: the kind that elevate people of all ages and walks of life into empowered, cosmocentric, highly evolved human beings. Today, Vishen is a leading voice for transformational education and is the founder of annual events like A-Fest and Mindvalley U, both events which I've attended and spoken at. He also speaks on stages across the world on subjects such as personal growth, education technology, and workplace culture. He sits on the Innovation Board of the XPrize Foundation, an advocate of human-centric technological development. And he’s also a bestselling author, including the incredibly popular book "Code Of The Extraordinary Mind". But Vishen’s latest mission is arguably his most audacious yet: within the next 20 years, he intends to completely evolve mankind’s approach to learning, by bringing Transformational Education to every country and Fortune 500 company on the planet. One of the ways he's doing that is via the innovative MindValley Quests, and in today's podcast, we talk about the new Beauty & Longevity Quest I've created with MindValley, and much, much more! During our discussion, you'll discover: -When and why Vishen launched Mind Valley...14:32 Wanted to start the next great social media platform in 2002. Lost everything; owed money; couldn't pay rent. Got a job selling tech info to lawyers. Ended up depressed. Hit rock bottom. Googled, "Why does life suck so bad?" Discovered class on meditation. Was the only person who showed up to the class. Began applying meditation, empathy, intuition into his work. Sales improved exponentially in 4 months. Looking to tap into the subconscious for ideas. How Vishen incorporated meditation into his sales calls: Gave his mind "instructions": Only call lawyers that are a good fit for the tech. Would benefit both sides from a sale. Ran hand over names; listened for a "gut impulse." Yes, or no. Doubled sales in one week listening to his gut. Quit sales job and became a meditation instructor. Took the Silva Mind Control; adapted to his own practice. Has now integrated with Mind Valley. "Mind Valley Intuition Program" How often do you do the Silva Mind Control? -The 113 points that are measured in the Mind Valley program...30:20 Based on an online assessment developed by Jon Butcher. Unifying different models of personal growth via merger, acquisition. Prices on programs are lowered, more available to people. -Vishen's own personal habits and bio hacks...34:00 Extremely structured life. Aspergers causes awkwardness in social situations, OCD behavior in work. Knowledge is data; focus on transformation to live a more fulfilling life. Focusing on transformation changed Vishen's outlook on life, physical appearance, mindset. Wants to have the biggest jump in consciousness in history by 2038. Vishen's Daily Routine: "Transcendent practice" Compassion Gratitude Forgiveness Creative visualization (long term) Visualize today Prayer or a blessing Intermittent fasting Cold thermogenesis Healthy morning shake Coconut oil Raw green powder Acai Protein powder Super slow strength training Very regimented work program. 8 hours per day. Family, reading, study time. -How Vishen fixed his eyesight...57:20 Read his blog post about it . Get your eyes checked from a doctor, not an optometrist. Get glasses one increment down from your actual vision. Install eye chart in your home. Get a vision coach, online vision course. Eyeglasses are a crutch! -Vishen's sleep routine...1:03:35 -The diet that Vishen promotes which mimics that of our ancestors...1:08:15 Wild Fit 80% of your body shape is what you eat. An "anti-diet" diet program. Rooted in behavioral psychology. 90 day program. Week 6-7, you go off sugar; that's when the fat starts to shed. Have you ever worked in a fear-based environment? One where you spend every waking minute walking on eggshells? Where the wrath of a demanding boss is always top of mind, stifling creativity and innovation? If you have, you know it's not fun. In fact, it can be downright miserable for employees. And, ironically, it doesn't produce great results either. The effect of a command-and-control atmosphere is actually the exact opposite of what was probably intended. Instead of precise, high quality output, you're much more likely to see uninspired, unimaginative work - and an anemic bottom line to match. So what’s the antidote to a fear-based workplace? Today’s guest has something to say about that. In our inaugural Culture Builder edition of Brand Builder, we speak to Traci Fenton, a globally recognized researcher, speaker, author, and the founder and CEO of WorldBlu. Traci founded WorldBlu in 1997 and has helped spark and lead the global conversation around reinventing workplaces using freedom and organizational democracy rather than fear and control. She and the team envision one billion people living, leading, and working in freedom worldwide. SnackNation CEO Sean Kelly spoke with Traci about what it takes to create a Freedom Centered Workplace, and the astounding results you can achieve within the WorldBlu framework. After selling his publishing company, my guest, Clint Greenleaf recalls being on flight to Hawaii with his wife and two young daughters. They were sitting in first class and Clint peaked behind his seat to check on the girls. That’s when he had a revelation: “I thought, I spent a lot of time in the back of the plane... and if I’m not careful, my kids are going to miss the important lessons it took to get here.” With that, Clint set out to learn all he could about teaching kids financial literacy and the value of money. From his research, Clint developed practical strategies—a set of tools in the toolbag—that he and his wife use with their children. We talk about what they do and more in this episode. Topics discussed in this episode: Meet Clint (1:40) Build a network of knowledge (5:27) Questions about money for you and your spouse (7:02) What led to writing the books? (9:37) Give, Save, Spend (12:20) Using a family business for training (15:58) Allowance: Clint’s perspective (21:22) Making financial concepts fun and easy to understand (27:27) Entrepreneurship and financial literacy (31:35) What has worked for Clint’s family? (38:09) The proof will be in the pudding (41:50) Awareness is key (45:00) How to connect with Clint (47:19) Bonus questions (48:00) Guest Bio: Clint Greenleaf began his career as a staff accountant at Deloitte and Touche and earning his CPA. Representing over 30 NY Times and Wall Street Journal best sellers, the company was named one of INC's fastest-growing companies in America (INC 500 in 2006 and INC 5000 from 2007-2012). Greenleaf Book Group was also certified by WorldBlu as a “Most Democratic Workplace” for transparent policies, employee engagement and leadership. Clint sold the company in 2011, and stayed on as CEO and Chairman until 2014. His newest venture is HomePlate Peanut Butter, an all-natural, no-stir peanut butter that is connected with professional baseball and other sports teams. After completing two rounds of fundraising and generating rapid store growth, the brand is positioned for significant growth in the grocery space. Clint speaks to various audiences throughout the world about the benefits of instilling financial literacy in people of all ages. Clint helps companies bring financial education into their organizations to help grow the bottom line, and his clients walk away with an understanding of how financial education of all employees can help advance a company. He works with families, home offices and financial advisors to create a framework for building financial competency in children so they grow up to be responsible adults, capable of managing their own money. Clint’s audiences learn the value of imparting financial knowledge to others and improving their own understanding about money, and they gain practical tools to be able to put that into action in their own lives and organizations. Clint works with organizations around the globe as an author and speaker on entrepreneurship, financial education and innovation.
