Yippie Ki Yay jingle bellers! Your nerds take on the holidays the only way they know how. With complete and utter nerdness. Hear our favorite Christmas movies, music, and comic book moments! Merry Christmas and Keep it Nerdy!
An oft-discussed but not previously resolved question: is Die Hard a Christmas movie? We settle the matter, I guess, provided you don't care very much about the matter in the first place. Turns out the whole question turns on the secret, possibly offscreen shenanigans between Bruce and the security guard. If you can read between the scenes to imagine some help-shtooping, then you have yourself a holiday classic. Take that, Julie Andrews! Our handy rule turns out to illuminate the question for many other Christmas movie candidates, although the degree to which off-screen activity is implied is sometimes controversial. Screenwriters of the future, take note: make sure that you explicitly clarify the off or on screen antics involving the help if you want to be included in the holiday rotation. If you need help with how to write about expressly boning, email us (maskedman@limitedappeal.net). Theme music courtesy of General Patton vs. The X-Ecutioners and Ipecac Recordings.

It's well established that the Geeks are Die Hard fans of film. Sure, they consider themselves Above the Law sometimes, but surely talking action movies shouldn't be a Hard Target? Should it? Turns out it is! The boys try their hand at talking action movies, and the caffeine and sugar kick in and things get weird! On this episode we are heading to Park City Utah to drink through an incredible lineup from High West Distillery. In 2006 High West became Utah's first legal distillery since 1870. They'd been making waves in the industry well before Whisky Advocate named High West the Distiller of the year in 2016 with excellent barrel aging and finishing. We got to taste through almost everything they offer, not quite everything but pretty close, including a barrel aged cocktail at the very end. If you're a fan of High West, you're going to love this episode and if you're not yet I'm sure you will be when you're done. #252 - John McClane is at it again, but this time it is at an airport and we are hear to review it. It's not the worst movie in the franchise, but it is far from the best. Enjoy Bruce Willis, William Atherton, Franco Nero, Dennis Franz and more in this Christmas classic... We then cross over into our favorite make shift weapons, such as using an icicle as a knife. Yippie ki-yay, monkey fighters! We're back to talk about Dusty's favorite so-called "Christmas movie" DIE HARD. Every year around this time, everyone on the internet gets into arguments about what their favorite Christmas Movie is. Within the first minute of said conversations, someone is going to mention Die Hard, and then the conversation usually explodes (unless everyone just nods along knowingly, as they should be rarely do). Dusty chose the movie this time around, sticking to his guns (ho ho ho!) and calling it solidly. And well frickin' done too, as we had a blast talking about this great "Everyman vs The Terrersts!" flick. Simultaneous to the launch of this episode we've finally decided to put up our brand new Patreon campaign, too. We've been toying with this idea for a few months now, but didn't want to launch until we felt that we had a good chunk of solid content upon which to build our name. For those of you who have been eager to get your hands on the piles of behind the scenes and other bonus content we've been stockpiling, here's your chance! Thanksgiving is close so what better place to start. We also get into a controversy about Die Hard. Christmas Movie? We say yes! What is Christmas like in Japan? Bruce fills us in. And of course no show could go by without a little Vaughn Haggerty action. http://RoganRadio.com facebook.com/roganradio youtube.com/c/roganradio RoganRadio@gmail.com
Dave, Justin, and Paul spend a couple hours talking about the films of one of their favorite actors . . . Bruce Willis! Everything from Die Hard, to Death Becomes Her, to Unbreakable! Yippie Ki-Yay!
#What made the internet angry this week? Derek and Dale get personal. Vancouver, the only city in the world where it's possible to get seasonal depression during summer. John McCain died, and people have opinions. Trump and Mexico team up against evil Canada. Dale teaches us about dairy farming. We share our love of Chinese culture and bizarre Oreo flavors. Alcohol keeps making people do dumb things. Is this landlord racist? And more! Talking points: The mental health effects of the world being on fire John McCain: a decent guy, now that he's dead Trump + Mexico = BFFs 4EVER Chinese people don't have tastebuds Who could have ever guessed that filling people with booze before putting them on a plane would be a bad idea Songs: 'She Swallowed Burning Coals' by El Tigr3 (Dale's choice) 'Island' by Living With Lions (Derek's choice)

Dave, Justin, and Paul talk about their favorite Christmas films. Including such greats as Ernest Saves Christmas and Krampus! It doesn't get much more festive than this. Yippie Ki Yay!
If you think of killing a high rise tower full of terrorists-thieves when you think of Christmas we have the episode for you! Die Hard was released on July 20, 1988 in the middle of peak summer action movie season and has been copied and mimicked by action movies since, except for the one major exception: Christmas!! Since Die Hard was released it has become must viewing for many during the Christmas holiday season, but is it a Christmas movie? In this episode Rodrigo is awestruck by John McClane's accuracy when it comes to throwing a body out of a window, and Brian posits that Bruce Willis' water cop from Striking Distance is the great, great, great, great grandfather of Kevin Costner's Mariner from Waterworld (Check out episode 5!). Listen to episode 12 and decide Yippie Ki-Yay, or Yippie Ki-Nay on whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie!
On this episode of "Nerd Rage," the Debaters argue over the best non-traditional Christmas movie. Will "Die Hard" be just another midnight snack for Gizmo and company, or will John McClain prove HE runs Nakatomi Plaza? Whether it's Hans Gruber or hella Gremlins, let's get ready to rage! The most dangerous podcast are on the prowl, like Michael Jackson at a grade school ..... The guys jump off the show with talks of Gary and Mart's sweet love affair for the 500th episode, then Wayne's screw up, 80's movie over dubs, Christy Mack vs the War Machine, FaceBook live stream gang rape, heavy metal and garbage pail kids artists, the Gong show, Sam Rockwell, Atomic Blonde trailer, Transgender weightlifting champion, Luke Cage and Iron Fist talk, and would you rather get hit in the nits or loose 2 front teeth ? Also a ton of fun and dangerous topics... enjoy Also check out our friends DisAfterDark here for the best Disney coverage out there. In this Thanksgiving day classic, the guys talk about their own Thanksgiving plans and traditions, thoughts about Black Friday, what they're all thankful for and their expectations for the 88 second Star Wars Episode 7 trailer (a film that was still 13 months away at this point). And, of course, any holiday conversation would be incomplete without a chat about Life Day, as celebrated in the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Welcome to 2016 everybody! We're kicking this new year off with a bang (courtesy of the enhanced blanks used in today's film)! Die Hard is a classic action movie, and in the spirit of Christmas, we thought there's no better way to celebrate the holidays than giving this film the attention it deserves! Bruce Willis stars as NYPD Officer John McClane, coming to visit his estranged wife Holly (played by Bonnie Bedelia). What they didn't count on was an unexpected visit from Alan Rickman's fantastic Hans Gruber. Good thing he left the stuffed bear in the limo!
This week on the slightly belated Film Brits podcast, Trilbee and Sam discuss the career of Wes Craven, the Marvel/Disney internal shake-up, the movement on an 'Artemis Fowl' movie and more movie news! We also react to the trailers for 'Concussion', 'The Danish Girl' and 'Macbeth'. Afterwards, Sam reviews 'Straight Outta Compton' and 'American Ultra' before we answer listener questions!
