✅ Scaling eCommerce Brands is one of the biggest challenges founders face once they've reached that early traction stage, and in this episode, CPA-turned-eCommerce operator Abir Syed breaks down how entrepreneurs can overcome plateaus, maintain margins, and scale beyond the limits of their own time, energy, and operational bottlenecks. Whether you're struggling with advertising metrics, cash flow forecasting, inventory management, delegation, or 8-figure operations, this conversation delivers clear, experience-backed answers that match exactly what people search for when trying to grow an eCommerce brand effectively.Founders looking for help with scaling eCommerce brands typically ask questions like:• “Why am I stuck at 6 or 7 figures?”• “How do I keep margins healthy when ad costs rise?”• “When should I hire? When should I replace myself?”• “What data actually matters for profitable scaling?”Abir Syed's background—starting in accounting, running an 8-figure eCommerce brand hands-on, moving into advertising, and now running a 70-person eCommerce accounting & CFO firm—makes him uniquely qualified to answer these exact questions. His expertise sits at the intersection of financial clarity, eCommerce operations, and performance marketing, giving founders a blueprint for sustainable growth rooted in real data instead of guesswork. This episode is tailored to the search intent of entrepreneurs who want solutions to:✔ inconsistent cash flow✔ poor understanding of true acquisition costs✔ weak operational systems✔ margin erosion✔ lack of clarity in revenue, profitability, and scaling strategyYou'll learn how Abir identifies bottlenecks, how he advises brands on omnichannel expansion, how to manage the “unglamorous” operational side of scaling, and how founders can break past the mindset barriers that keep them from hitting 8-figure growth. If you're actively researching how to scale your eCommerce business, optimize profitability, and build processes that don't depend on you—this episode gives you the frameworks, insights, and wisdom to take the next leap.⏱️ Timestamps (14:46 Total)00:00 – Intro00:24 – Abir Syed's background & journey01:10 – Running an eCommerce brand end-to-end02:00 – Why founders need better financial data03:00 – Scaling past $3M–$5M revenue04:00 – Why most founders get stuck at 7 figures05:00 – How to keep eCommerce margins healthy06:00 – Accounting → advertising: Abir's shift07:00 – What investors look for in eCommerce brands08:00 – The unglamorous truth of scaling past 8 figures09:10 – Founder trust issues & bottlenecks10:20 – The right level of customer acquisition12:00 – Entrepreneurship & career advice13:30 – Where to follow Abir Syed14:46 – Outro
On the final episode of Season 5 of the P.E.G. Podcast (2024), we had the pleasure of sitting down with the one and only IHeartDmitri, a highly recommended guest by our dear friend and fellow artist Lord Jordvn, who joined us earlier this year.In this episode, IHeartDmitri delivered a powerful message: “Remember to love what you got.” He shared his journey of growing up in a supportive home, watching his veteran parents enjoy the fruits of their labor. However, he struggled to understand the value of hustling and building a life for himself. This lack of direction led to challenges, including struggling with jobs and facing homelessness. It was only when his parents held him accountable, encouraging him to stand on his own two feet, that he made the pivotal decision to grow up.Today, IHeartDmitri doesn't just hold down one job, he juggles multiple, funding his music career and making his dreams a reality. He's recently released his first EP, “Magik,” showcasing his unique sound and spreading high vibrations and positivity.Through his story, IHeartDmitri reminds us to appreciate what we have while continuing to strive for more. He also empowers the next generation of artists to embrace their struggles and create unapologetically.Dive into this inspiring episode as we reflect on the power of “loving what you got” and tune in for more in Season 6 (2025)!Thank you for supporting the P.E.G. The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has resulted in catastrophic suffering for the civilian population. In a devastating situation where hope seems distant, it is important to remember that war is not the solution. Palestinian Bassam Aramin and Israeli Rami Elhanan have both lost a daughter in the conflict. But instead of succumbing to bitterness and hatred, they have joined forces to work for peace. How did they manage to overcome hatred? Bassam Aramin is a former Palestinian freedom fighter born and raised in Hebron. He was imprisoned at the age of 17 and spent seven years in an Israeli prison. Rami Elhanan is an Israeli Jew from Jerusalem and was a combatant soldier in the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Bassam lost his 10-year-old daughter Abir in 1997, she was killed by Israeli border police right in front of her school. Rami lost his 14-year-old daughter Smadar in 1983 in a Hamas-led suicide attack in Jerusalem. Despite the circumstances, the two have become close friends, and have dedicated their lives to working together for peace between Palestinians and Israelis through the organization The Parents Circle - a group for Israeli and Palestinian parents who have lost children in the conflict. Their friendship is a living testament to the transformative power of empathy and compassion, challenging us to imagine a world where peace and reconciliation are not just a dream but an achievable reality - if the parties dare to do so. We invite you to a conversation with Bassam and Elhanan where the two share their story and reflections on the ongoing war, and what is required for reconciliation and a future of peace.
After seven weeks of war between Hamas and Israel, there was a deal for a pause in the fighting. On Friday morning the rockets and gunfire fell silent in Gaza. The agreement also included the release of Palestinians in Israeli prisons and Israeli hostages held in Gaza; plus more aid deliveries to the people of Gaza. After so much trauma and anger, host James Reynolds hears from those who say there has to be another way than war. He talks with two members of Parents for Peace - an organisation consisting of both Israeli and Palestinian parents who have lost children throughout decades of conflict. A Palestinian sniper killed Robi Damelin's 22-year-old son, David, in 2002. An Israeli soldier killed Bassam Aram's 10-year-old daughter, Abir, with a rubber bullet, outside her school in 2007. Today, Robi and Bassam are united in using their grief positively for peace and to help others who continue to suffer the consequences of war. “Instead of building more graves, they need to try to move on with this pain, to use it as a motivation,” says Bassam. “To build more bridges for peace for the memory of their beloved one.” We also hear how two Israelis are coping under the strain of not seeing their relatives; knowing they are probably being held hostage in Gaza, but are unlikely to be released as part of the current deal. After the Hamas attacks at the weekend and Israel's order of a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip in response, we talk to two people from the different communities involved. A few years ago, Bassam Aramin lost his 10-year-old daughter, Abir, who was killed by an Israeli soldier, and Robi Damelin lost her 28 year old son, David, after he was killed by a Palestinian sniper. Neither were killed in this latest stage of the Israel-Gaza conflict but as members of a cross-community group called the Parents Circle-Families Forum, they're uniquely placed to comment on the situation. She advised the government in the run-up to the landmark 2021 End-to-End Rape Review - which has successfully increased the number of rape cases getting to court to pre-2016 levels.
