We talked to Phil Bedford about the seven deadly startup sins! These are the key takeaways of this episode: ◼ The episode is part of an international series on Podcast Planeta, presented by Carlos Hoyos, focused on elite leadership. ◼ From a young age, Phil valued effort and hard work, paying for his own education with part-time jobs. ◼ Passion and motivation are considered by Phil to be more important than academic qualifications, especially in entrepreneurship. ◼ Crucial moments in life often involve people or opportunities. The decision to participate in a summer camp in the USA was one of those moments. ◼ Feeling stuck in a recruitment job, the interviewee made a life-changing decision to move to Dubai. ◼ In Dubai, a business opportunity arose spontaneously during a leisure activity. The decision to take advantage of this opportunity led to a life change. ◼ Decisive moments often involve leaving your comfort zone, even without considering all the implications. ◼ Maintaining and growing a business is an arduous task that demands dedication and time. ◼ The support structure and resources available can differ widely depending on the entrepreneur's family situation and previous experience. ◼ The importance of not making assumptions about what it takes for a business to succeed, especially for those starting out after leaving a corporate environment. ◼ The secret to success is to be surrounded by the right people; human connections play a crucial role on the path to success. ◼ Trying to do everything alone requires more effort, more money and more connections; it is more efficient to seek help. ◼ Having an international mindset can be beneficial; knowledge and help can come from anywhere, regardless of borders. ◼ The importance of giving and receiving; being humble enough to accept help and grateful enough to give back in some way. ◼ The importance of relationships: The interviewee's wife exemplifies how generosity in relationships can generate a strong support network. ◼ Smart reciprocity: A simple act of kindness, like paying someone for parking, can lead to greater, unexpected opportunities in the future. ◼ Learning Mindset: We can learn both the positive and negative aspects of any situation or person, expanding our personal and professional growth. ◼ Self-care: In the same way that on a plane you put the mask on yourself first before helping others, self-care is fundamental to success in entrepreneurship. ◼ Time Management: Treat time for yourself and your family as if it were for your best client. ◼ Cultural Planning: Planning is not intrinsic in all cultures, but it is an indispensable element in achieving long-term goals. ◼ Abundance Mindset: Getting out of a scarcity mindset can have a significant impact on how you approach opportunities and relationships. Ein inspirierendes Gespräch, das aufgrund der Raumakustik und der Entfernung der Gesprächspartner:innen leider nicht optimal ausgesteuert ist. Inhaltlich dennoch sehr inspirierend...

How confident are you to say “This is who I am”? As a teenager, Nick endured years of bullying that ripped the confidence from him. In this episode, Nick openly talks about his journey in life, how taking full personality responsibility and becoming a 5th Dan Black Belt in Karate has helped him to be the man he is today. KEY TAKEAWAY- “Ask for help… Be comfortable being uncomfortable” ABOUT NICK FORGHAM - Nick started his entrepreneurial journey in 1991 when he went to Egypt with two empty suitcases and started a gift and homeware business supplying specialist gift shops and high street chain stores across the UK. He then went on and founded an internet company whose clients included Whitbread and Allied Domecq (now Diageo). Since 2012 he has successfully been running the BNI referral marketing organisation in Berkshire and Wiltshire and currently is a trainer with Asentiv providing specialist support for franchisors and franchisees with proven referral marketing strategies. Dave Verburg is most happy when giving to others. Dave from Asentiv talks to us about his incredible experience of helping others to reach and fulfil their true potential in business.
In this episode of The Real Build, I got the opportunity to talk remodeling with Jason Avery of Avery Construction. Before the Coronavirus, many people were in the process or getting ready to remodel their homes. Now that more people have been stuck in their homes, they are noticing it is time to upgrade and change things. Before you move forward, you need to know what to look for when remodeling your home. So that is why I brought on expert remodel contractor Jason Avery. Jason is the President / CEO of Avery Construction, Designer Cabinets LLC, and Constructing Success. He's a state-certified general contractor that specializes in remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, new room additions, and also does light commercial build-outs throughout the Greater Tampa Bay area. Today, he employs 40 full-time trade professionals, completing more than 4 Million per year in renovations. Jason and I talked about how he has positioned himself to work on his business, instead of in his business. More than 55% of his business comes from referrals. He is also a trainer for both Business Networking International and Asentiv, teaching business owners and managers about networking, referral generation, power teams, and behavioral styles. Jason is the author of the #1 Best Selling book, Constructing Success – Blueprints for a Referral Based Business. He is now using his knowledge and experience to consult and advise general contractors, tradesmen, architects, and interior designers on how to grow their businesses by referral.
Today I had the distinct pleasure of introducing my newest podcast "The Thoughts Become Things Podcast". This is the one I've been waiting for. This is the one I hold dear to my heart. And what better way to usher in a new era then to have my friend Jason Avery on to help lead the way.The point of this podcast- enlighten others with knowledge that works, to dig deep into the Law of Attraction and study the way successful people use it. Growing up I was always curious as to how millionaires think so I can get on the same page. And that still drives me today. So I created this show just for that reason. To show people how we successful people think.Jason Avery is a best selling author and owner of 3 businesses: Avery Construction, Designer Cabinets LLC and Constructing Success. He's on multiple leadership teams and is involved with several charities. Most importantly he's a great father and husband. Every time I see him he's always trying to help someone grow, and a blast to hang out with. -Now those are some great mentor qualities! In this episode we discussed his Amazon best selling book: Constructing Success the blueprints for a referral based business. We discussed the 4 personality types and the Asentiv program, the Law of Attraction, givers gain, and more. And as fate would have it, this episode airs on his birthday. I love it when a plan comes together. That's #Thoughtsbecomethings at it's finest.Jason's contact and social media: jason@averyhomeremodeling.comLinkedinFacebookTwitterHouzz

This week's episode of The Crushing Debt Podcast is our fourth (or third and a half) interview with our friend Tiffanie Kellog. Tiffanie and I discuss a question I've tackled over the last few episodes - what are some tactics to motivate referral sources who are all the same profession? How do you give back to a group of similar professions that all refer you business. There are 16 different relationship builders. While we don't focus on all 16, some that we discuss: - Featuring your referral source on a podcast, YouTube Video, co-author an article, or newsletter. - Set up a speaking engagement for your referral source. - Advising or Advice seeking - Giving or collecting Testimonials (especially those that speak to a common objection a client may have to hire you). - Calling your network to simply ask "How are you doing?" - Doing fun events together To learn all 16, please contact Tiffanie at Tiffanie@asentiv.com or https://tiffaniekellog.com/ or https://tampa.asentiv.com. Tiffanie has a 13-week video program called "Thirteen weeks a Month" to help you save a few minutes here or an hour there. The goal of the program is that you gain 13 hours a week, which creates an additional 28 days of time saved - or one full month, so that you have 13 months in a year. I've always said that there are two way to create money to pay down or pay off your creditors: (1) make more money, or (2) cut expenses. One of the ways I've been able to make more money is through word of mouth networking, and many episodes of the Crushing Debt Podcast discuss networking topics. Some episodes that talk about networking in general are 133 (FinCon2018), 33 (Business Card Graveyard) and 17 (Running and Goal Setting). Every 6 months, my community has a garage sale, which is a great place to practice your sales skills - episodes 118, 86 & 68. I've got episodes on living a spectacular life with the Asentiv program - 76, as well as word of mouth networking with Tiffanie Kellog (episodes 48 & 12). Jason Avery with Constructing Success is episode 8. Why I do what I do is episode 5. I also talk about the difference between generating a referral versus an introduction to a referral source. I talk about tips and strategies to network at events and one-to-one. Finally, I talk about a question we'll tackle on a future episode - "feeding" multiple of the same type of referral sources. I hope you enjoy this episode of the podcast. What are some of your favorite networking tips? Please share at Shawn@YesnerLaw.com or www.YesnerLaw.com.

Welcome to the last episode of the first year of the podcast! In this week's episode, we have a repeat guest, Jason Avery of Avery Construction and Constructing Debt. However, in this episode of the podcast, we talk to Jason about Room Full of Referrals provided by Jason through the company, Asentiv. In Room Full of Referrals, we learn that people are faster paced or slower paced, people oriented or task oriented. The seminar is highly useful in determining your own style, learning the behavioral style of other people, and how to use that information to better connect, and generate better referrals. Jason was my jury consultant a while back and used his behavioral style analysis to help me pick the right jury and win my case! I also utilize tactic learned in Room Full of Referrals to better connect with potential clients and customers. In Room Full of Referrals we learn the Platinum Rule. Everyone knows the Golden Rule - treat others the way you want to be treated. The Platinum Rule is to treat others how they want to be treated. To reach me, please email Shawn@YesnerLaw.com or www.YesnerLaw.com. As this is Episode 52, we want to continue to provide value to you, our listeners. Please let us know what you like about the podcast, what we can improve about the podcast, and what you want us to keep the same about the podcast.
Join Jen Julius as she interviews Dr. Ivan Misner, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of BNI. They will be discussing the unknown relationship that exists between authentic networking and authentic health. When networking, do you only talk to those who can give you the most in return? Do you only give your business card to someone who you will bring you a ton of referrals? Do you only give referrals if you know you’ll get them in return? If this sounds like you, you are doing it all wrong. Dr. Misner will share tips and information on how to improve your networking skills which result in not only an increase in numbers of referrals but also the quality of referrals. Dr. Ivan Misner is the Founder & Chief Visionary Officer of BNI, the world’s largest business networking organization. Founded in 1985 the organization now has over 7,700 chapters throughout every populated continent of the world. He is also a columnist for Entrepreneur.com and has been a university professor as well as a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of La Verne. In addition, he is a Partner for Asentiv – a referral training and coaching company with offices around the world. Called the “Father of Modern Networking” by CNN and one of the “Top Networking Experts” by Forbes, Dr. Misner is considered to be one of the world’s leading experts on business networking and has been a keynote speaker for major corporations and associations throughout the world.
