(4-19 Whole Joe Show) We begin the show with a sports six pack! Kyle Dubas is currently speaking to the media right now. What questions would you have for the Penguins General Manager? Will Todd Reirden have a job this time next week? How would you grade Kyle Dubas' first year in Pittsburgh? Aroldis Chapman was suspended for two games for cursing at an umpire in Spanish. What could have possibly been said? Paul Skenes threw another great outing. Why is he still in the minors? Josh Yohe says that coaching changes may not be coming. So Todd Reirden may be staying after all.  Stanley Cup Champion Tyler Kennedy joins the show. Why should Mike Sullivan be the head coach? He tries to answer why the Penguins power play was so bad. Should the Pens hire Jaromir Jagr be brought in as a power play coach Ray Fittipaldo joins Joe and Paul. Joe skips the pleasantries and asks immediately: Who will they draft? Ray is torn between Amarius Mims and Graham Barton, two offensive linemen. He says the wild card scenarios are Cooper DeJean and Bryan Thomas. Peyton Wilson from NC State is a name to watch according to Ray. He says Wilson is often injured but is someone to take a chance on in the later rounds. Joe then plays his normal game of free association with Ray.  Gregg Doyel had an awkward interaction with Caitlin Clark. Joe asks why he makes it about him? Joe and Paul have a discussion about columnists and asking questions at press conferences.  Jeff Hathhorn joins Joe and Paul in the studio to discuss the Kyle Dubas press conference. Jeff says there "was a lot of dancing" around the questions.  Jeff sticks around to talk about the Pirates and their plans with Paul Skenes. Why are the Pirates being stingy with Skenes and Jared Jones? Skenes went on the Pat McAfee show as the three were talking about him and Jones.  Bob Walk joins to talk about Skenes and to preview the Red Sox series. Bob talks about how much the game has changed over the years and how pitching has become more speed than anything.  Quick predictions for the Pirates this weekend against the Red Sox and how Quinn Priester does.

In late 2023, Stoplight was involved in a merger with SmartBear, and as our teams focus on bringing Stoplight and Swaggerhub together, it requires our full attention. We've decided to place the show on hold indefinitely. We've enjoyed getting to connect to so many of you in the community and hoep to continue to do so through other means for the time being. Thank you for all of the listening, learning, and conversation. -This week on API Intersection, we sat down with Bryan Thomas and Puneet Kumar, who joined us from Humana. Both play heavily involved roles in the Enterprise API program there, and brought their unique perspectives to share. With an organization as large as Humana, we talked about how you build and maintain APIs at scale. What does consistency mean? How do you think of your APIs as a product, and why does that work? Most importantly, when you go to make changes in your program, how do you get people on all levels on board? To learn more about Humana, click here._____To subscribe to the podcast, visit https://stoplight.io/podcast

In this episode of the podcast hosted by (Me) Reka Robinson with guest (life coach) Bryan Thomas, Bryan talks about his divorce and the lessons he learned from it. He explains why he was with her for a few years but only married for months and that when love is given with the intent to change instead of cover, problems arise. We discuss the concept "Love is meant to cover and not change, according to God." (1 Peter 4:8) We also discuss the concept of loving blindly and how it can lead to problems. Bryan stresses the importance of finding someone who matches our values and needs. He also discusses his decision to remain single until he finds someone who matches his discipline. Bryan believes that we should stop giving potential partners the benefit of the doubt. They also talk about what marriage taught Bryan about women and himself. Finally, they delve into the difference between falling in love and choosing love. 16:47: "When love is given with the intent to change and not the intent to cover. That is where you will run into a problem. God never says that ‘love changes' but he says ‘love covers." - Bryan 26:53: becoming the person that I'm called to become that is my responsibility, that is not the responsibility of the person I'm with. The thing that I'm asking you, is that when I make mistakes, will you hold my hand and say “I got you” as I'm elevating or are you going to push me to the side because maybe what you signed up for didn't included the capacity to be able to handle the downside to the evolution that I'm bringing. 50:24: What did marriage teach him about women?  1:01:04: What did marriage teach him about himself? + “Falling in love vs. choosing love”.   ----- At this time I am not coaching but My DM is always open! Today I have a conversation with entrepreneur Bryan Thomas. A few years ago he and his wife Amelia had an idea to create a mobile app that would allow kids to design their own indoor playhouse. Design a castle or a gingerbread house all on an iPad mobile app. The child could choose to put a window next to the door, a drawbridge on both sides of the castle or a chimney right in the middle. The playhouse would then be built to their exact specifications and delivered to their doorstep for them to assemble and play in right there in the living room 4 days later. The idea was their lightbulb, ripcord moment over 2 years ago. Since then Bryan and his wife and Co-Founder Amelia Cosgrove have both quit their real jobs, raised venture capital and are building the startup, PopupPlay that is empowering kids to build their own toys from as early as age three. “Hustle is my friend.” – Bryan Thomas, Co-Founder of PopUp Play So if as a kid, you built a playhouse out of cardboard boxes in your living room or as an adult, you had an incredible business idea but thought, somebody has to be doing this already, this is your episode. We discuss… The exact moment when him and Amelia came up with the idea of kids building their own playhouses. The emotional responses from their friends about building this mobile app and kid’s experience. Building a startup based on the principle of being a good person and a caring company first. Going through the Techstars 3 month incubator program in Austin. Scaling the entire process from the mobile app features to production and distribution. How they are teaching and inspiring the next generation of architects and engineers. The next steps of partnering up with vehicle companies. Genius huh? Yep, why didn’t we think of that? Well, you will learn by the end of this conversation that that phrase means nothing.
