Crystal Johnson merged her passion for food and culture with her experience in the entertainment business to bring us the Multi Cultural Cooking Network. Fifteen years of experience serves up great cutting edge food entertainment coverage. She began her professional career recruited to work in the video production department for the Baltimore Orioles. The native New Yorker remained a Yankee fan! For several years she worked in news for both a Fox affiliate and CBS in Baltimore. She later moved to Los Angeles and earned several credits working in the casting departments for Extreme Makeover Home Edition, America's Next Top Model, VH1, and NBC Three Wishes. Returning to her journalism roots, Johnson began writing for a local paper in Los Angeles called the Valley Scene Magazine, writing film and restaurant reviews. She has covered the beat of major film festivals including AFI, American Black Film Festival and the Los Angeles Film Festival among others. Restaurant Reviews range from fine dining to "Give me another round of cornbread." While juggling the duties of the paper, she began freelance writing and producing entertainment news for Look to the Stars. She is also currently the Comfort & Soul Food critic for the Los Angeles Examiner. Her education includes a B.S. in Communications and Masters degree in English/Screenwriting. Among her personal passions is missions work and mentoring, having commited herself to work in Mexico(Adventures in Life), low income communities in Los Angeles and providing immediate needs to those evacuted during Hurricane Katrina.
