This episode is a break in regular podcast scheduling. Recently I went onto a local South African health show on the countries biggest satellite TV network called Real Health. I was honoured and excited to be getting onto a big platform to be able to share my knowledge and experience about biohacking, functional health and behaviour change to an audience who have never heard most of those terms before. This is a great episode for anybody wanting to tip their toe into the waters of biohacking and personal health accountability. We look at what biohacking is, some of my favorite devices and tools, and analyse the sobering reality of the state of chronic disease.Join us as we explore:Biohacking - what it is and why I believe it will play far more central of a role in the future of health than you may believe. The role of personal responsibility and accountability in the medicine 3.0 paradigm, but also why a resource like a health coach can make that journey much easier and more successful. Some of my favorite biohacking tools.Mentions:Product: BrainTap, https://madetothrive.co.za/special-deals/braintap/Product: KAATSU, https://madetothrive.co.za/special-deals/kaatsu/Product: CGM, https://madetothrive.co.za/special-deals/glucose-monitoring-consultation-evaluation/ Product: Bon Charge, https://madetothrive.co.za/special-deals/bon-charge-special-offer/ Product: Elite HRV, https://madetothrive.co.za/special-deals/elite-hrv/ Podcast: Dr Zach Bush, https://youtu.be/ybb1PVE7v7U Support the showSupport the show on Patreon:As much as we love doing it, there are costs involved and any contribution will allow us to keep going and keep finding the best guests in the world to share their health expertise with you.
There is a crack in everything - Wünsche, Ziele, Wendepunkte!
Christian will hier Abhilfe schaffen.

What we talked about in this episode: Making New Years resolutions a lifestyle. When setting a goal, try not to have the "its all or nothing" mentality. Give yourself a pass to suck until you don't. Obi's Three Action Steps To Make New year's Resolutions A Lifestyle 1. Being around people that actually support you and are like- minded. 2. Writing down your goals on a piece of paper. 3. It's a marathon not a sprint. Everyone's DNA isn't the same, so in terms of what we can achieve it will vary: Ripped abs, tight hamstrings, or developed glutes etc. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Focus on your strengths. Writing down your goals increase your chances of achieving them by 50%. Tracking your progress is important because it get addicting to see your results. If you don't see progress it's hard to stick with something. Tracking your progress also lets you know when you need to switch it up. Sabotage looks like: 1. Your mother baking you your favorite triple-stack fudge brownies though it's not your birthday. 2. Your significant other bringing you ooey gooey cheese pizza. 3. Friends inviting you on a multitude of wine outings. 4. co-workers egging you on "oh come on can't you just have a little bit?" I'ts okay to say no! Don't be food-shamed if you want to eat that or if you don't want to eat that. Obi Obadike is Steve Harvey's Personal trainer and Steve has gotten into phenomenal shape under Obi's tutelege. Obi's Tips on Achieving Higher Success 1. Creating relationships matter people have to want to work with you. People have to like you. Having a bad attitude gets you no where. 2. Laying down your ego, creating trust through your hard-work and integrity. 3. Doing everything you can to execute and get the job done. All Things Obi: The Cut: Lose Up To Ten Pound In Ten Days And Sculpt Your Best Body Co-Authored by Obi Obafike and Morris Chestnut. "60 is the new 40" Obi Obadike and Steve Harvey's new digital series to motivate baby boomers that your age doesn't have to stand in the way of being healthy and in your best shape ever. Finally a brand you can trust. obistrong.com Obi has developed a new supplement line without all of the fillers, stimulants, fake sugars, low sodium, low fat, no proprietary blends, and junk you might find out there in the land of supposed health supplements. While you’re at it, support the show, grab a book with Audible, or start shopping at Thrive Market. There’s nothing like have a good friends on the show to talk about their deep knowledge and expertise. Our guest, Scott Shetler, definitely has both. We met Scott through the local vegan channels and Hope and Dave both follow his facebook page as well as enjoy his work in the vegan power and strength community. His work and dedication to an ethical lifestyle while showing what exceptional functional strength training can do for athletes and the average joe alike, is astonishing. We had a great time talking with Scott about overall benefits of functional strength and power training from swimmers, to mma fighters, to those of us that want to shed extra weight and enjoy a healthy life. In true Curiously Veg fashion we managed to detour into discussions about infighting with the plant-based community and Scott’s love to pull some great pranks on his lifting buddies. Of all the interviews we’ve done this is absolutely like being the fly on the wall, while good friends laugh and talk about eating plants, lifting iron, and meditating (as Scott so perfectly puts it). ABOUT THE SCOTT SHETLER Scott is the owner of Extreme Performance Training Systems, a professional training center located in Atlanta, Georgia, and Plant-Based Performance, a book series that donates 100% of all sales to animal welfare. He has a degree in Health and Physical Education and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition, Scott is the host of Strength and Health TV, a video blog series where he talks about, and interviews others, on topics related to strength, health and fitness. He has authored numerous books including his most recent “Abundant Health: Fitness for the Mind, Body, and Spirit”, co-authored “Eat Plants, Lift Iron” with Stic of hip hop duo Dead Prez and holistic nutritionist Afya Ibomu.
