Elliott started posting his dreams on Facebook intermittently during the last few years. The response was overwhelming. Eventually, fans wanted to see Elliott's nocturnal adventures be put into book form. There are 145 dreams in all included in the book and many famous names have entered Elliott's dreams including The Beatles, Tom Petty, Steven Tyler, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend, Billy Joel, Jerry Garcia, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan. It's off to rock and roll dreamland with Elliott Murphy!Purchase a copy of Elliott Murphy's Rock DreamsVisit Elliott Murphy's websiteFollow Elliott Murphy on Facebook Episode Playlist ---------- BookedOnRock.com The Booked On Rock YouTube Channel Follow The Booked On Rock with Eric Senich:FACEBOOKINSTAGRAMTIKTOKX Find Your Nearest Independent Bookstore Contact The Booked On Rock Podcast: thebookedonrockpodcast@gmail.com The Booked On Rock Music: “Whoosh” by Crowander / “Last Train North” & “No Mercy” by TrackTribeBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/booked-on-rock-with-eric-senich--4901091/support.

He's got a brand new book titled Jukebox: 1967-2023 Photographs.Michael is best known as a writer, but for over 50 years he's also been photographing musicians and the photos in Jukebox are drawn from the thousands he's taken over the years. Included are photos of the Sex Pistols, Devo, the Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Jim Morrison, Lou Reed, Janis Joplin, Muddy Waters, Patti Smith, the Who, Neil Young, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Grace Slick and Paul Kantner, Tom Waits, The Ramones, and many many more. Most of the photos in this book have never been seen before, including rare 1970 photos of Jerry Garcia in his Larkspur home months before recording began for the group's classic album, American Beauty. Some of the photographs were taken at the homes of the artists or in their hotel rooms. The Ramones photograph was shot from the doorway of Goldberg's room at the Tropicana in L.A. Michael is here to share some stories behind the photos in the book.Purchase a copy of Jukebox: 1967-2023 Photographs ---------- BookedOnRock.com The Booked On Rock YouTube Channel Follow The Booked On Rock with Eric Senich:FACEBOOKINSTAGRAMTIKTOKX Find Your Nearest Independent Bookstore Contact The Booked On Rock Podcast: thebookedonrockpodcast@gmail.com The Booked On Rock Music: “Whoosh” by Crowander / “Last Train North” & “No Mercy” by TrackTribe

This week's episode is all about fandom. It seems that by the time the mid to late 80's arrived, being a fan of something - let's say a genre of music - also lent itself to fashion choices & even the friends we made.If someone was wearing the shirt of your favorite band, there was a pretty good chance you could end up friends. But there is also the kind of fandom that leads to changes (temporary or permanent) in actual lifestyle. Ever know an actual Goth? This wasn't just some dude wearing stage makeup - these kids were living their everyday lives decked out in all black, with dark eye makeup, and black lipstick - to high school. That's not just being a Cure fan - this was a lifestyle choice. And I can't shy away from the fact that I also made some horrendous fashion choices - particularly during the early 90's - because if there is one thing grunge accomplished beyond shifting the musical landscape, it also “allowed” for an anything goes mentality when it came to personal aesthetics. That likely explains the dog collar I once sported - which was fully allowed to be worn where I worked. It was a different time…
Although they formed in Ventura, California in the early 70's just a few short years after Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, CIRITH UNGOL (which, if you know anything about J.R.R. Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings lore, translates to mean “Spider's Cleft”) sound like a band “out of time”. Whether they're releasing 70's sounding albums in the 80's or releasing 80's sounding albums in the 90's, it should be noted that CIRITH UNGOL are one of the first ever doom metal bands, with a sound containing a unique blend of both doom and power metal elements, as well as hints of classic Priest & Sabbath. Discover the real difference between “LPs and EPs” and try to comprehend why EPs are actually “shorter” even though they sound like they'd be “longer”. Understand the reason “you've got to get your vasectomies early (and often)” and just know that “you're not gonna make it better” talking about “roast beef sandwiches” unless you “pull out a pack of Arby's sauce” and JOIN US as we go INSIDE THE METAL with the decade defying, anachronistic anomaly of doom and power metal that could only be known as CIRITH UNGOL.
