For the sake of mutual safety, this episode is preceded by a content advisory regarding sexual trauma and minor-attracted persons. Please take care of yourself as you need, even if that means skipping this conversation. Your body belongs to YOU. I open with this power-stance of a statement because I didn't get that message as a child, adolescent, or young adult. In fact, I've only just begun to really grow into that knowledge as I heal from sexual trauma. Here's another a-ha! from this episode: healing takes time. I'm grateful to folks like Dr. Lori Beth Bisbey for repeatedly reminding me of these essentials. She has been a champion of sizzling sex without shame for 35+ years, and her work destigmatizes fetishes, BDSM, and non-monogamy. Lori Beth's healing journey also provides encouragement for survivors of sexual trauma alongside a healthy dose of reality. This story today is so precious! We are excited to welcome Lori Beth Fowble! Lori Beth is married to Arin and, between them, they have four children. Lori Beth teaches us what it means to have the audacity to hope again! After going through a devastating divorce that rocked her world, she eventually reconnected with an old friend who helped spark that hope. She shares her heart openly and is vulnerable about not wanting to walk through this pain, but understanding that Jesus also had to walk through pain He didn't necessarily want to walk through. If God never wastes our pain, then we shouldn't either. She is a great example of "holding the lantern" for others going through similar burdens in which we can use our experiences to help. You don't always move on from things, but you move forward. You are going to be encouraged by her words. Happy Mother's Day, Mama! This is a super special episode…not just because it's in honor of Mother's Day, but because there will be 4 mamas speaking life over you today! 3 of my dear friends in life and business—Jennifer Ford Berry, Amy Debrucque, and Becky Kopitzke are joining me for this conversation. These lovely mamas are all members of the mastermind I've had the honor of being a part of for a while now, they are also authors, speakers, podcasters, coaches, wives, and mothers. We talk often about how these multiple roles take a lot of our time and energy and brainstorm together on a weekly basis about how we can thrive in various seasons of motherhood and live a more integrated life where family and business exist to support one another. And that's what today's conversation is about. Thriving in each season of motherhood. Integrating our different roles in different seasons. And what it looks like to work on our own personal growth along the way. This is a beautiful conversation filled with vulnerability and stories as we share about our own personal struggles, times of worry, moments of judgement, and times we grappled for control…as well as how we got to the other side of those tough moments. This episode is packed with truths and encouragement! I'm excited for you to get to know Jennifer, Becky, and Amy more…these women are also my co-hosts for The Focus Retreat happening this September in beautiful Kentucky. This episode is a great opportunity to get to know them more so you can connect with who will be speaking into your life and business this fall at the retreat. We have unique perspectives and convictions, but always manage to find common ground as women who have hearts for Jesus and encouraging other moms through our businesses and ministries. I adore these women and know you will, too. Check out the show notes for links to their websites and IG profiles as well as links to The Focus Retreat. www.thefocusretreat.com Stay tuned at the end, too, for a special message from Becky about The Focus Retreat and our bonus Early Bird Mother's Day specials! Howdy, cowpokes! This month I speak with Zoe Boekbinder about their recent songs, "Cut My Heart In Two," and "I Am Yesterday." Both of these songs were produced by Gracie and Rachel, whom I interviewed on my previous podcast, Adobe and Teardrops. Zoe Boekbinder is a veteran, singer songwriter, born in Canada and raised in a string of Buddhist communities on the West coast they have a unique outlook on life. Their latest album Shadow was self-produced and released in November of 2018, but as we'll hear, Zoe has more music on the way. From May, 2010 to December, 2014, Zoe volunteered as a performer and teacher at New Folsom Prison. This music culminated in the album long time gone by the Prison Music Project. In our interview, we talk about the backstory behind the song "I Am Yesterday," confrontation within community, its relation to incarceration, and what really defines queer country music. Zoe's pup makes a special appearance as well, but first, I want to thank the following new Patreon subscribers. Welcome, Michelle, Elliot, Lori Beth, and Claude! You too can support Rainbow Rodeo when you subscribe for as little as $4 a year. You can also advertise on the podcast for a mere $15. Ep 207: Alternative Lifestyles, Sex, and Relationships with Dr. Lori Beth Bisbey. Listen to my fantastic discussion with Dr. Bisbey about ethical non-monogamy relationships (ENM), the "monogamy hangover", the difference between jealousy and envy in relationships, and the reality show she was on called Open House: The Great Sex Experiment out of the UK, on channel 4. We chatted about sexual confidence and energy, how that impacts a person's entire life and relationships, and how that confidence (not arrogance) is very attractive in a person. She also shared about how to shed shame and how shame damages our lives and sex lives. We talked about consent. We also discussed how masturbation is healthy in and out of relationships, and how masturbating actually improves your libido and sex life. We talked about sex toy usage and how it's very beneficial, with recommendations of the best brands. We also talked about how porn is not addictive, but how porn can actually enrich your relationship and sex life.Find out more about Dr. Bisbey here: https://linktr.ee/drbisbey?fbclid=PAAaZP4w29NBz-TqxWjoZCIjjNmJuwMsgVjawedQBVmc_J5uwqjUJ9FEOy_bIDr Lori Beth Bisbey®Taking sex and conversations about sex from the shadows to the light@drbisbey twitter and instagramFB: drloribethbisbeyTikTok: @loribethukHttps://drloribethbisbey.presshttp://drloribethbisbey.comHttps://bit.ly/atozofsexradioBooks:Dancing the Edge to Surrender memoir (affiliate) https://amzn.to/3hCjr3y Chopping Wood, Shaping Metal, & Other Erotic Stories https://amzn.to/3UwKKL0Sex toys mentioned in this podcast episode (affiliate links below):Lovense Bluetooth long-distance sex toys to use with a partner, remote partner, or solo https://www.lovense.com/r/bhjft9Womanizer sex toy for women https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=2190377&u=3101443&m=65394&urllink=&afftrack=Connect with podcast host Ruan Willow: https://linktr.ee/RuanWillowRuan's new audiobook and book releases:Magic In Her Kisses Lesbian erotic romance audiobook: https://storyoriginapp.com/universalaudiobooklinks/67b1bcfa-5a09-11ed-9be7-37bad9f71680FREE trial of Audible and FREE copy of audiobook https://www.audible.com/pd/B0BL1WVFNG/?source_code=AUDFPWS0223189MWT-BK-ACX0-326578&ref=acx_bty_BK_ACX0_326578_rh_usNaughty Santa Gives an Erotic Gift audiobook https://storyoriginapp.com/universalaudiobooklinks/bb61f352-5620-11ed-845b-db69e025132dThe Licking Sip Coffee Shop audiobook https://storyoriginapp.com/universalaudiobooklinks/50158e24-5620-11ed-8eff-bb093b57c67eAudiobooks dot com https://www.audiobooks.com/browse/narrator/330514/ruan-willowSupport the show

In this episode, Lori Beth Goldman and I have a beautiful discussion around what are some typical concerns and challenges that many women have when magnetizing the right life partner for them. We explore some of women's common fears around being too much or not enough when dating, issues around attracting emotionally unavailable partners, and personal struggles around shame and perfectionism. She shares a bit about how she supports women around owning the fullness of all of who they are (needs, wants, and soul desires) in her work through helping them shift their primary core belief that is impacting how they show up in their sovereign power when dating. Lori Beth Goldman is a 14-year licensed psychotherapist and relationship Coach. She has helped hundreds of women be true to who they are, authentic and fully expressed, and has helped many women meet their partners by being fully who they are. Socrates felt that eroticism was one of the four essential qualities needed for a life worth living. Eroticism was once considered a major way of learning about the world around us. It is only in modern times that eroticism seems to be downgraded and equated with all the negative forms (but not the positive forms) of pornography. Mistress Lucille is joining Dr Lori Beth Bisbey to talk about all aspects of the erotic. Dr Lori Beth will provide some tips to new patterns, new ways to approach the world that will increase your level of eroticism.
It's often underestimated how much sex and intimacy play a part in the foundation of who we are and how we function. Countless people experience trauma, abuse, dysmorphia, a lack of acceptance for themselves, their bodies and who they are. There's an embedded shame and fear that if we speak about sex and intimacy that we will be judged and that what we might be experiencing is wrong and embarrassing. The truth is that we are not alone and in this episode Dr Lori Beth Bisbey is on a mission to bring the discussions about sex and intimacy out of the darkness and into the light. There are no boundaries, no judgement, no limitations in working with Dr Lori Beth as a psychologist and sex and intimacy coach based in the UK. Since 1987, she has been helping individuals, couples and poly groups explore sexuality, recreate a healthy sexual identity after trauma, as well as deepen their awareness and understanding about intimacy and relationships. There's something empowering and freeing when these conversations come out of the dark and into the light, so I hope you find the courage to do the same regardless of your sexuality.
