You might know Patrick Brammall from Offspring, No Activity, the global hit Colin from Accounts, and as the voice of Uncle Rad on Bluey. Now, Patrick stars opposite Anne Hathaway in the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, a film with a global audience, a cultural legacy, and a level of attention he hasn’t experienced before. And to think he originally turned it down. In this conversation, recorded the day before the film’s release, Patrick talks to Kate Langbroek about the long road that got him here. From a childhood shaped by serious health challenges, to the uncertainty of an acting career, to finding his voice as a writer and creator. He opens up about building a life and a family with Harriet Dyer, becoming a father, and how that’s changed the way he thinks about success, ambition, and the opportunities he chooses. He also shares what it was like stepping into a franchise like The Devil Wears Prada, including the surprise of having a steamy scene cut from the final film. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in cinemas now. Take Mamamia's definitive The Devil Wears Prada quiz here. This special episode of TV Gold looks at the Australian comedy Deadloch.Podcast hosts Andrew Mercado and James Manning review the second season of the hit Prime Video series and also included in the episode after our review is an interview with the stars Kate Box and Madeleine. About Deadloch Season 2 (Prime, 6 episodes) Detectives Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) are in Darwin to investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner Bushy. However, their plans are soon diverted when a body part is discovered in a remote town called Barra Creek. With the Northern Territory police force focused on a large-scale search for two missing backpackers, Dulcie and a very reluctant Eddie are tasked with identifying the John Doe. Sticky, sweaty and juggling comprehensive thrush infections, the detectives find themselves embroiled in a world of crocodile-fuelled tourism, overstretched Indigenous rangers, cagey locals, and seven-metre prehistoric predators – all of whom call Barra Creek’s stretch of land, and water, their home. As the humidity builds, and Eddie and Dulcie dig deeper, more questions arise for our duo – not only about the case, but the many secrets that lie beneath the surface of this small town. Who’s in Deadloch Season2: Returning to Deadloch are Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner. Joining the cast for Season Two are Luke Hemsworth (The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Thor: Love & Thunder), Steve Bisley (The Great Gatsby, Mystery Road: Origin, Mad Max), Shari Sebbens (The Sapphires, Top End Bub and The Office), acclaimed writer/director Jean Tong in their acting debut, Genevieve Morris (Bloom, No Activity), Byron Coll (Time Bandits, The Luminaries), Nikki Britton (How to Stay Married), Anthony J Sharpe (Joe v Carole, Human Error), Blake Pavey (Urvi Went to an All Girls School), Damien Garvey (The Survivors, The Artful Dodger), Ngali Shaw (The Twelve, Ladies in Black), Bev Killick (Savage River, Jones Family Christmas), Ling Cooper-Tang (Troppo, Apples Never Fall, Nautilus), Ursula Yovich (Top End Bub, Mystery Road), Syd Brisbane (High Country, Stateless), Ines English (Last Days of the Space Age, Ghosts Australia), Lennox Monaghan (Windcatcher), Reiden Corpus and Storm Murgha.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Now, Tyra's sister Tanya has had her case ‘reactivated' and, with the help of advocate Maria, is pursuing answers.  Contact No Activity: noactivitypodcast@gmail.com Listen to No Activity: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/no-activity/id1639433048?uo=4 Tanya's petition: https://chng.it/9Z7Bb6mXks Cancel unwanted subscriptions and manage your expenses the easy way by going to RocketMoney.com/FALLLINE. Less than two weeks to the premiere of “No Activity” a new true crime podcast with purpose. Similarly to “They Called her Georgia Lee” I'll be working with families in the pursuit of justice for cold cases that have sat idle for far too long. The show will feature exclusive audio interviews with law enforcement, experts, advocates and of course, above everything else, families and friends of the victims… because who better to tell you about them than the people who knew them best? Our first six part series tells the story of Tyra Maria Garcia, a 15 year old girl from Ventura, CA. In 1985, Tyra had everything to look forward to. She was starting a new job, she had lots of friends, she was seeing a new guy… All in all, she was on the come up. Then on the night of Memorial Day celebrations, she told her sister and mother she was going to a friend's house late at night. In spite of a gut feeling that told her older sister Tanya not to let her go, they watched as she rounded the corner of their small apartment complex and disappeared into the night. That was the last time anyone saw Tyra alive. Ten days later she was found wrapped in a blanket, left in an orange grove over an hour away from her home. There was ample evidence at the scene, many of her close friends and family pointing to a likely suspect, plenty of people who saw Tyra that night, and even eye witnesses at two different locations who saw her in the company of two older guys… and yet, here we are 37 years later - almost to the day - still wondering - what happened to Tyra Garcia? Someone knows something. The key to Tyra's case is out there and we're hoping that one of you knows who has it. Or at least you know where the pressure needs to be pushed to get it. You can find the premiere episode of No Activity on Thursday, August 11th wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. Steve Toltz is the author of A Fraction of the Whole, which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and the Guardian First Book Award and Quicksand, which won the Russell Prize for Humour. Booklist called A Fraction of the Whole ‘a deliriously philosophical novel . . . with uproarious ruminations on freedom, the soul, love, death, and the meaning of life" and in a way that applies to Steve's work as a whole and his new book, Here Goes Nothing. The Irish Times described Here Goes Nothing as, ‘a smart social commentary on our fossil fuel-guzzling, warmongering, information-obsessed, pandemic-riddled world' and as The Scotsman said, he writes with ‘remorseless, brilliantly withering contempt', though this sits alongside a story and characters that are both affecting and strangely moving.Steve's also worked as screenwriter on shows like No Activity and Guilty Party.

In a later episode, we deal with how women are or are not allowed to express their anger online as content creators. So it's something we talked a lot about in the room. “In developing Harper's character, it felt like just very realistic. We're in a major city that's very liberal, that's very creative, that this would be someone who would be a stylist, who would not necessarily need to have a coming out story because maybe they aren't from a background where… She might have come out as pansexual when she was 13. That probably didn't need to be said. Carly wouldn't be someone you needed to sit down and hold her hand and say, “I've got something to tell you.” That this is someone who would say, “Oh, cool, my roommate brought home a woman.” Or, my roommate brought home someone nonbinary. That's not something that we have to discuss. And Laci has talked a lot about how there is a place for that in a lot of shows and it's really important to have art like that, but it's also equally important to have shows where it's not this big deal coming out scene. That these are people just existing joyfully and living their lives and pursuing their dreams and relationships. That's equally valuable. I think we really felt that with the nature of the show that was the opportunity we had. It's such a joyful show that why not just show someone dating who they want to date and who they connect with.”Ali Schouten is a showrunner, executive producer, and writer who is quickly establishing herself as a creative on the rise as her formidable talent and artistic versatility continue to make waves. “What we deal with more in the second season is how your online persona and your real-life persona sometimes can't help but be at odds with one another. In the first episode back we get into how women are treated, how women in relationships are treated online. In a later episode, we deal with how women are or are not allowed to express their anger online as content creators. So it's something we talked a lot about in the room. That fracturing of self, that even in a goofy show that's very lighthearted and entertaining, it's something that we do discuss and try to sneak little tidbits in there.”Schouten currently serves as the showrunner and executive producer of the wildly successful iCarly revival for Paramount+, which set 10 years later, features Miranda Cosgrove reprising her iconic role. Ted Alexandro is a comic who believes deeply in social responsibility. Whether it's responsibility to his fellow comics as he fought for better pay from clubs, or to his fellow citizens as part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, or to his audience as he wrestles with effectively addressing the Trump Era on the comedy stage. Ted talks with Marc about the evolving nature of a comedian's role in the culture, how his experience as an elementary school teacher prepared him for standup, and why he felt it was necessary to do material at the Comedy Cellar that was critical of Louis CK's return to the Comedy Cellar. This episode is sponsored by Funny or Die's No Activity on CBS All Access, Omaha Steaks, Molekule, and YouTube Music.
