“Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave, with a bunch of scraps!”Yes, Jeff Bridges' Obadiah Stane is both furious and incredulous when he delivers that line in 2008's blockbuster and zeitgeist-defining Iron Man movie. If we're being real, we've often wondered about that, as well. Never mind the less than ideal circumstances under which Tony Stark designed and built the power source for the Iron Man armor, not to mention its dual nature as a lifesaving device and an incredibly efficient fusion-type power generator. Oh, and then there's the fact that its basis is an entirely new element, known as palladium in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Yes, despite the MCU's admirable commitment to internal consistency and logic, we admit that the ARC Reactor is a lot to swallow. But that doesn't mean we love it any less! And when we love something at Does it Fly? that's our cue to dig into both the science and story logic behind it to see if it flies…just like some repulsor-powered jet boots. In this episode we look at everything from the elemental nature of the power source to the amount of force the reactor might constantly be generating (not to mention how that would function when surgically embedded in a human body) to the philosophical and ethical questions raised around superhero-level technology in the real world. Want to find out if Iron Man really flies? This episode is for you!SUGGESTED VIEWINGAt minimum, to understand this episode, you should probably have watched the first Iron Man (2008) movie, which is also the very first movie in what would later become known as the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe. We're assuming that if you're on this page and you've read this far, you've already done that. But limiting us to that would be no fun at all, so Does it Fly? is proud to present (in the tradition of our Planet of the Apes saga complete and correct viewing order) the complete and official guide to Tony Stark's entire saga on screen in the MCU.If you've never watched a single MCU flick and just want to follow Iron Man's adventures, this is the way to do it in the correct order. We promise you'll see every imaginable use of the ARC Reactor by the end of it. Born To Watch - A Movie Podcast

Iron Man is the first Marvel film that we have given the Born to Watch treatment and it's only fitting that we leave "Dan" out of the mix. The movie that started it all, "We are Born to Watch".Released in 2008, "Iron Man" marked the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and ushered in a new era of superhero films. Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, the film tells the story of a charismatic billionaire industrialist turned unlikely hero. With its gripping narrative, remarkable performances, and groundbreaking visual effects, "Iron Man" not only set the stage for an interconnected superhero universe but also became a timeless classic in its own right.Unlike other superhero films that often focus on individuals obtaining their powers through external sources, "Iron Man" takes a different approach. Tony Stark, an arrogant and brilliant engineer, finds himself in a life-altering situation when he is captured by terrorists while showcasing his latest weaponry. Forced to confront the destructive consequences of his own creations, Stark embarks on a personal journey of redemption and transformation. This unconventional origin story offers a refreshing and relatable perspective on heroism. The success of "Iron Man" can largely be attributed to Robert Downey Jr.'s stellar portrayal of Tony Stark. Downey Jr. perfectly embodies the wit, charisma, and vulnerability of the character, making Tony Stark one of the most beloved and iconic superheroes in cinematic history. His charisma and natural charm bring an endearing quality to Stark, making the audience root for his redemption and hero's journey."Iron Man" benefits from a strong supporting cast that complements Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow shines as Pepper Potts, Stark's dedicated and efficient assistant, adding a layer of emotional depth to the film. Additionally, Jeff Bridges delivers a compelling performance as Obadiah Stane, Stark's mentor and business partner, whose motives and actions create a formidable adversary for Iron Man. The chemistry among the cast members elevates the film's emotional resonance and adds complexity to the narrative."Iron Man" revolutionised the way superhero suits were portrayed on screen. The seamless integration of CGI and practical effects brings the Mark I, Mark II, and Mark III Iron Man suits to life in spectacular fashion. Audiences were mesmerized by the sleek design and fluid movements of the armour, setting a new standard for superhero costumes in future films. The film's stunning action sequences, particularly the breathtaking flight scenes, left audiences in awe and laid the groundwork for the awe-inspiring spectacles that have since become a hallmark of the MCU.At its core, "Iron Man" delves into themes of responsibility, accountability, and redemption. Tony Stark's journey from a reckless arms dealer to a selfless hero is a powerful exploration of the transformative power of personal growth. The film emphasizes the importance of using one's wealth and abilities for the greater good and taking responsibility for the consequences of one's actions. These themes resonate strongly with audiences and give the film a deeper emotional impact."Iron Man" is the cornerstone of the MCU, setting the stage for a series of interconnected films that would follow. The film's post-credits scene, featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, teasing the "Avengers Initiative," left fans buzzing with excitement about the possibilities of a shared superhero universe. This innovative approach to storytelling fundamentally changed the landscape of cinematic franchises, leading to the unprecedented success of the MCU and influencing the entire film industry.Over a decade since its release, "Iron Man" continues to hold a special place in the hearts of fans and film enthusiasts alike. The film's enduring legacy has inspired multiple sequels, spin-offs, and merchandise, solidifying Iron Man's position as an integral part of pop culture. Even after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the impact of "Iron Man" remains a fundamental aspect of the MCU's identity."Iron Man" is a groundbreaking film that not only launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also redefined the superhero genre for a new generation of audiences. With its compelling narrative, brilliant performances, and groundbreaking visual effects, the film continues to stand the test of time as a cinematic masterpiece. Robert Downey Jr.'s iconic portrayal of Tony Stark, coupled with the film's exploration of redemption and responsibility, ensures that "Iron Man" will forever hold a significant place in the annals of cinematic history. Please follow the Podcast and join our community at https://linktr.ee/borntowatchpodcast If you are looking to start a podcast and want a host or get guests to pipe in remotely, look no further than Riverside.fmClick the link below https://riverside.fm/?utm_campaign=campaign_1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rewardful&via=matthew

Marvel's Iron Man: Why Sharing Your Company's Origin Story Builds Stronger Customer Relationships

Remarkable Marketing

Marketers are always focused on what's next. We're constantly planning the next campaign, predicting trends, and conducting research. Always onward! But there's a critical piece of content from the past that you're probably overlooking: your company's origin story. It's a powerful tool you can leverage to detail your company's mission and align customers with your values to get deeper buy-in and drive sales. This week, we're taking inspiration from the origin story that launched an entire cinematic universe: the origin story of Marvel's Iron Man. We're showing you how to apply the structure of the hero's journey to your company's origin story so that your customers become superfans.About Marvel's “Iron Man”Iron Man is a 2008 superhero movie based on the Marvel comic book character created by Stan Lee. The film stars Robert Downey, Jr., as Tony Stark, Gweneth Paltrow as his personal assistant Pepper Potts, Terrence Howard as James Rhodes, and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. The storyline follows rich businessman and inventor Tony Stark after he's kidnapped and forced to build a deadly weapon. Instead, he builds himself a high-tech suit and escapes – only to uncover an evil plot to cause devastation around the world. He then vows to fight evil as Iron Man.The Hero's JourneyThe hero's journey is a narrative structure in which a character goes on an adventure, faces a crisis, comes away victorious, and returns having undergone a transformation. Author Joseph Campbell analyzed the hero's journey in his seminal 1949 book, “The Hero with a Thousand Faces.” He defined a hero as “someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” This structure is one as old as storytelling itself; it has been used from The Odyssey to Star War to Harry Potter – and Iron Man, of course! What B2B Companies Can Learn From Marvel's “Iron Man”: Share your company's origin story. Attract your ideal customers by showcasing your company's journey. Telling your story demonstrates your company's mission and fundamental values, and most importantly, it helps you distinguish yourself from your competition. This is especially important as consumers trend towards aligning their values with their spending. How does this apply to Iron Man? We wouldn't appreciate his character without seeing his growth from self-absorbed jerk to the selfless hero he becomes. Even though Iron Man is a billionaire genius living in a Malibu mansion, we are invested in his compelling emotional arc.Show both the successes and the struggles. Let's be real. Starting a company isn't easy. It's a journey – and dare we say it, a Hero's Journey! But part of the Hero's Journey is that you will make mistakes – and no one is immune from this. For example, back in 2015, Apple got negative publicity – notably from Taylor Swift – for offering a free one-month trial of streaming in which artists wouldn't receive royalties. Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services tweeted an apology: “#AppleMusic will pay artists for streaming, even during customer's free trial period,” and, “We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.” Not long after, Taylor Swift struck a deal with Apple to stream her latest tour exclusively on the platform. Apple owned up to their mistakes quickly and transparently, allowing them to be on the public's (and Taylor Swift's) good side again. But being transparent about your values also means living up to them as well. The founders of tech company Basecamp have made improving work culture an integral component of their brand. They have published five books related to the topic and make resources like their company handbook publicly available. “Treating people right is fundamental to how we do business,” they write on their website. However, their actions didn't line up with their values. A third of their employees resigned after Basecamp put in place a policy banning “societal and political discussions.” The takeaway? Posting your values on your website is only one step. Living up to them is even more important. And if you fall short of your standards? Apologize and make it right. That's what Basecamp did.Keep telling your story. Every time you make a big decision, make sure it aligns with the values embedded in your origin story. Communicate your reasoning with your audience. Your transparency will strengthen your audience's trust in you – and help you continue to build a loyal group of sidekicks!Key Quotes*”With business storytelling, we focus on the timeline of accomplishments and not the thought and the rigor, the difficulties and the struggles that go into those middle pieces because we don't want to air dirty laundry. But if you illuminate the process a little bit more, you'd get a richer story.” - Ian Faison*”Another element to explaining what your mission is and bringing people on that mission is bringing them on the journey with you and continuously giving them updates on things from a business perspective. I like when there's an emotional connection between me and the brand. And a lot of times a good way to do that is through social media, for example. So, like I use Canva, as an example. And I follow them on LinkedIn. It's the only business account that I follow on LinkedIn. And I actually care what they post because I feel like I'm going on a journey with them. You feel like you're a part of it. And I think that's a really key element to building a relationship with your audience.” - Colin Stamps“If you anchor back to your origin, it shows the reason for your mission. This is why we have these values as a company. This is why we believe in the vision that we're trying to achieve, is having this foundational element of a company that we set out to solve. It feeds into a future looking assessment of where you want to be. And that's why the origin story is so important.“ - Ian FaisonTime Stamps[1:30] Tell me more about Iron Man[4:14] The backstory behind the creation of the 2008 movie[7:28] What can I learn about telling my origin story from Marvel?[11:31] Why is it important to share my company's origin story?[14:39] Do I need to share the messier side of the origin story? This includes Avengers: Endgame, which became the highest-grossing film of all time upon release. First time you saw the movie? Plot:The film opens with Tony Stark, who has inherited Stark Industries from his late father Howard Stark, in war-torn Afghanistan with his friend and military liaison, Lieutenant colonel James "Rhody" Rhodes, to demonstrate the new "Jericho" missile. After the demonstration, the convoy, and Starks fun-vee, not Rhodys hum-drum-vee, is ambushed and Stark is critically wounded by a missile used by the attackers: one of his company's own. He is captured and imprisoned in a cave by a terrorist group called the Ten Rings. A fellow captive and doctor named Yinsen, implants an electromagnet into Stark's chest to keep the shrapnel shards that wounded him from reaching his heart and killing him... Chris, does your implant even do anything like that to keep you alive? Ten Rings leader Raza offers Stark freedom in exchange for building a Jericho missile for the group, but he and Yinsen know that Raza will not keep his word. S:-The music for this movie is PERFECTION.-RDJ, with all of his life issues, was born to play Tony Stark.  Stark and Yinsen bond, and secretly build a small, powerful electric generator called an arc reactor to power Stark's electromagnet and a prototype suit of powered armor to aid in their escape. Although they keep the suit hidden almost to completion, the Ten Rings discover their hostages' intentions and attack the workshop like Trey attacks a whole fucking pint of ice cream. Like Treys stomach, Yinsen sacrifices himself to divert the terrorists while the suit powers up. The armored Stark battles his way out of the cave (like the ice cream does to Treys stomach) to find the dying Yinsen, then burns the Ten Rings' weapons in anger and flies away, crashing in the desert and destroying the suit. After being rescued by Rhody, Stark returns home and announces that his company will cease manufacturing weapons. Obadiah Stane, his father's old partner and the company's manager, advises Stark that this may ruin Stark Industries and his father's legacy and urges him to reconsider. In his home workshop, Stark builds a sleeker, more powerful version of his improvised armor suit as well as a more powerful arc reactor for it and his chest. Personal assistant Pepper Potts places the original reactor inside a small glass showcase. Though Stane requests details of the Mk2, a suspicious Stark decides to keep his work to himself. S:-I love the use of all the practical effects. They built a REAL suit, and the mk1 suit was real, too. This is before all the computer animation that makes up most of the movies today, like Shang-Chi (which I watched last night).  At a charity event held by Stark Industries, reporter Christine Everhart (the woman from the opening of Trick r Treat) informs Stark that his company's weapons were recently delivered to the Ten Rings and are being used to attack Yinsen's home village, Gulmira. Stark dons his new armor and flies to Afghanistan, where he saves the villagers, and leaves one of the generals to the citizens of the village. Also, one of the BEST visuals, when the tank shoots at him, and he fires a tiny rocket, and walks away when it blows up. While flying home, Stark is attacked by two F-22 Raptors. He reveals his secret identity to Rhodes over the phone in an attempt to end the attack. Meanwhile, the Ten Rings gather the pieces of Stark's prototype suit and meet with Stane, who has been trafficking arms to the Ten Rings and has staged a coup to replace Stark as Stark Industries' CEO by hiring the Ten Rings to kill him. He subdues Raza and has the rest of the group killed. Stane has a massive new suit reverse engineered from the wreckage. Seeking to track his company's illegal shipments, Stark sends Potts to hack into its database. She discovers that Stane hired the Ten Rings to kill Stark, quicker than Tucker could uncover the identity of the famed Opelika Butthole Tickler, who was sneaking into peoples houses, and tickling their buttholes... but the group reneged when they realized they had a direct route to Stark's weapons. Potts meets with Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D., an intelligence agency, to inform him of Stane's activities. S:-Its a classic, and somewhat tropy move to have the partner and manager be the bad guy all along...but it works so well, and Jeff Bridges does it so well.  Stane's scientists cannot duplicate Stark's miniaturized arc reactor, so Stane ambushes Stark at his home and steals the one from his chest. Stark manages to get to his original reactor to replace it before dying. Potts and several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents attempt to arrest Stane, but he dons his suit and attacks them. Stark fights Stane but is outmatched without his new reactor to run his suit at full capacity. The fight carries Stark and Stane to the top of the Stark Industries building, and Stark instructs Potts to overload the large arc reactor powering the building. This unleashes a massive electrical surge that causes Stane and his armor to fall into the exploding reactor, killing him. The next day, at a press conference, Stark publicly admits to being the superhero the press has dubbed "Iron Man". In a post-credits scene, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury visits Stark at home, telling him that Iron Man is not "the only superhero in the world", and explaining that he wants to discuss the "Avenger Initiative". S:-My biggest complaint is the end fight was good, but kinda sucks that we've seen this whole movie building the different suits, prototypes, tests, etc... and then we don't even get to see the fight at full capacity. We don't get to see what the suit can really do. Potts has to help him win.   Top Five Trivia of the movie: 5: Rhodys ringtone is the 1966 Iron Man cartoon theme music4:One of the cars in Tony Stark's garage, is a Tesla Roadster, which had not yet been released during the film's production.3: Rock guitarist Tom Morello assisted Ramin Djawadi in composing the film's soundtrack. Morello had a cameo in the film as a security guard who gets killed by the Iron Monger2: This is the last film special effects expert Stan Winston completed before his death.1: The line, "I am Iron Man" was ad-libbed by Robert Downey Jr.. Producer Kevin Feige approved using it in the final cut of the film, and credits this with his decision to largely do away with secret identities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Tony...Tony...Tony! What are we going to do with you? The question is answered in the sixth episode of the Marvel's What If...? series, as we see the domino effect of what happens if Erik Killmonger had saved Tony Stark from being kidnapped. Without the lessons learned after being kidnapped in Iron Man, Tony remains the arrogant, narcissistic, playboy billionaire still trying to live up to and surpass the legacy left behind by his father. Having saved Tony in the desert, and subsequently outing Obadiah Stane as the mastermind behind Tony's kidnapping, Killmonger secures his place as Tony's Head of Security and right hand man - to the dismay and distrust of Happy and Pepper. Promising at first, the results of this partnership has long-reaching consequences for all involved. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/fandomhybridpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fandomhybridpodcast/support

We briefly discuss the plot of Episode 6 of What If this week:    In this alternate universe, Tony Stark is never kidnapped by The Rings and, therefore, never becomes Iron Man. Instead, he is rescued by Erik Stevens, a.k.a. Killmonger, a Navy SEAL on a mission in Afghanistan. Upon Tony's return, Killmonger reveals to the world that Obadiah Stane was behind Tony's attempted kidnapping. Out of gratitude and hope, Tony hires Killmonger to replace Stane as the COO of Stark Industries, a decision that makes Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan nervous. Charmed by Killmonger's intellect & manipulations, Tony works with him to create a drone army. When it's clear something is missing, Killmonger suggests they go searching for vibranium to improve the drones. Col. James Rhodes accompanies Killmonger to a meeting with Ulysses Klaw. Klaw & his forces are attacked by T'Challa, Wakanda's Black Panther. Killmonger betrays Rhodey and kills him, revealing that he has been working with Klaw to draw out Killmonger's cousin T'Challa, whom he also murders. Killmonger spins the incident to make Wakanda look like the aggressor, but Tony knows the truth thanks to JARVIS Killmonger then kills Tony before he can reveal the truth, though Pepper continues to be suspicious of the SEAL. General Ross uses the PATRIOT Act to take over Stark Industries, build a drone army, and wage war against Wakanda. Meanwhile, Killmonger brings the Wakandans Klaw's body to paint himself as a hero and the prodigal son returned. He wins the battle with the Stark drones and manipulates everyone, including King T'Chaka, who makes Killmonger the new Black Panther. But Shuri isn't fooled. She travels to New York to formulate a plan with Pepper to reveal the truth.     Episode 6 stars Michael B. Jordan, Jeffrey Wright, Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Andy Serkis, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, Leslie Bibb, John Kani, Mick Wingert, Beth Hoyt, Kiff VandenHeuvel, and Ozioma Akagha.   But mostly, our discussion is a roundup of recent Marvel news & our feelings about the latest trailers and rumors bouncing around fandom.    For more details on the film/TV references that spill out of Kris's (and occasionally Amy's) brain, as well as links to other podcasts, visit the episode page on our website: Episode page link Email us at themarvelousmadames@gmail.com Follow us on Twitter  Instagram  Tumblr

Shang-Chi earned a total of $34.7 million domestically according to Box Office Mojo in its second box office weekend falling only 54% from it's premiere weekend. Shang-Chi has now earned $144.5M domestically and $259M worldwide. In comparison Black Widow fell 68% in its second box office weekend but benefited from a healthy $60M from Disney+ premiere sales in its premiere weekend.   Other Disney second-weekend drops have been varied, with “Jungle Cruise” shedding 55%, “Cruella” 49% and “Free Guy” 35%. Universal's “F9,” another pandemic box office success, opened to $70 million in June and dropped 57% to $30.1 million in its second frame.   Pre-pandemic Marvel releases have traditionally held well in their second weekends: “Avengers: Endgame” declined by 59%, “Captain Marvel” by 56%, “Thor: Ragnarok” by 54%, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" by 56%, “Doctor Strange” by 50% and “Ant-Man” by 57%. “Black Panther” enjoyed the most slight second-weekend drop in 2018, with just 45% after opening to a massive $202 million over Presidents Day weekend.   The strength of Shang-Chi's Labor Day weekend opening seems to have inspired Disney to commit to debuting its remaining theatrical releases exclusively in theaters for the rest of the year, including Marvel Studios' Eternals. Disney announced that the rest of its domestic release slate for the year will honor a theatrical window ranging from a minimum of 30-45 days per film although the 30 day window only applies to Encanto according to the exclusive reported by Variety. The term “minimum” seems to point to the fact that Disney could extend that 30-45 day window should they prove to be hits and there is an audience to attend in person. Marvel Announces Four Unknown Films Scheduled for 2024 https://collider.com/new-marvel-movies-coming-in-2024/   Walt Disney Studios has updated its upcoming release schedule, which now includes four untitled Marvel films dated for 2024. These include newly announced films scheduled for February 16th, May 3rd, July 26th, and November 8th.   Marvel has previously announced all of its movies on the way through Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, scheduled for May 5, 2023. After Guardians, there are still three other untitled Marvel films planned for the year, however, the addition of four more unknown Marvel films in 2024 and their release dates is entirely new.   Possible films to fill those slots that are currently in development and without a known release schedule include Fantastic Four Deadpool 3 Blade Avengers-Level Team up to end the phase (not confirmed in development) Could be linked to Russo Brothers story from last week Captain America Sequel Possible X-Men   MCU – Non-Marvel Studios   Sony Won't Send Any Major Blockbusters Directly to Streaming Platforms https://www.cbr.com/sony-no-major-films-to-streaming/ Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Tony Vinciquerra is insisting Spider-Man: Far From Home, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and other blockbusters will retain their theater exclusivity window and not go straight-to-streaming.   "There is a higher bar theatrically to get films into theaters so you will probably not see as many films going directly to theaters," Vinciquerra said during a media conference. He conceded that some of Sony's smaller films might not be viable for theatrical release in the current climate but promised, "We have about 12 to 15 major films a year distributed to theaters and will do the same going forward."   Vinciquerra pointed out the rise in piracy rates since other studios decided to implement day-and-date streaming releases, labeling it "a big concern" moving forward. The executive noted that Sony is in a unique position as it does not have a streaming service of its own, instead acting as an "arms dealer" in the ongoing streaming wars, able to put its content up for auction. He was quick to clarify, "But you won't see our major films go that way."   Sony recently changed the name of its Spider-Man franchise from the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters to Sony's Spider-Man Universe, suggesting it has larger plans for the web-slinger moving forward. With rumors hinting at a live-action Spider-Verse crossover, the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home could potentially bridge the gap between Sony's animated and live-action Spider-Man franchises by incorporating Miles Morales.   Disney+   Marvel Studios' Hawkeye Official Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VYb3B1ETlk   What If…? They return to Stark Industries, where Killmonger exposes Obadiah Stane's involvement in the ambush before helping Stark build a humanoid combat drone using vibranium. Needing more vibranium to create a drone army, they arrange for James Rhodes to purchase it from Ulysses Klaue. At Killmonger's behest, Klaue leaks word of the transaction to Wakanda to lure in T'Challa / Black Panther. Killmonger kills T'Challa and Rhodes, staging it to look as if they killed each other. Stark confronts Killmonger, but he kills Stark and makes it look like a Wakandan attack. Killmonger then kills Klaue and meets his family in Wakanda. Thaddeus Ross sends the drone army to attack Wakanda, but Killmonger helps the Wakandans stop them. They make Killmonger the new Black Panther. As the United States prepares to eradicate Wakanda, T'Challa's sister Shuri visits Stark's assistant Pepper Potts, who was suspicious of Killmonger, and proposes an alliance to stop him.

Wes is joined by award-winning comic book editor Joe Corallo and life-long reader Eric Breen to discuss the lead up to IRON MAN #200. Tony Stark had ceded the Iron Man mantle to James Rhodes after being driven to alcoholism by Obadiah Stane. Stane has also taken over Stark Enterprises and kidnapped Tony's ex-girlfriend. Setting the stage for Tony's return to the Iron Man armor. IRON MAN #198 introduces the origin of Obadiah Stane and lays out just how evil Tony's foe really is. With word on the street that Tony is recovering from his addiction Stane's decides to put the proverbial nail in the coffin, endangering anyone close to Tony. Despite vowing to never put the armor on again, Stan's plot backfires as Tony once again emerges as Iron Man in time for milestone issue #200. We are back on The MCU'S Bleeding Edge Podcast here on Anchor with a outstanding and pretty long episode reviewing Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, with Podcast Of Champions. We are joined for the first time by Alexis, who I met through us both being guests on the Radulich In Broadcasting Network,  a very experienced guest in the podcasting/ live-streaming world, and also our second female MCU fan/ content creator, Yvonne Rempel, host of On The Road To Damascus podcast also on Anchor. We also have Taylor for his second appearance and lastly, also new to the show, The Grandmaster( Remco) both from Podcast Of Champions who we are connecting this Infinity Saga Review Series with, this being part 3. Of course Iron Man started the entire MCU and was the first of what would become over 20 films in what is now called the Infinity Saga. It is a well reviewed film with a excellent secondary cast and some neat cameos of Agent Phil Coulson and of course the famous end credit scene with Nick Fury, where we were first heard the words " Avengers Initiative", something that seemed like a fairly tale at one point until Marvel Studios came out setting the stage right from jump In Iron Man and letting us know essentially we were getting a Avengers solo film. Jon Favreau directs the film and also plays Happy Hogan, security for Tony Stark, in the movie as well. We get excellent performances from Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. Terrence Howard makes his one appearance as James( War Machine) Rhodes. Its a excellent and classic film and we deliver a excellent show here with wonderful contributions from our guest panel. Moderated by Jeff Sloboda, co-host of The MCU'S Bleeding Edge, we hope you enjoy this episode and wish everyone out there a thanks for supporting our content.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-mcus-bleeding-edge/message

His captors want him to assemble a missile for them but instead he creates an armored suit and a means to prevent his death from the shrapnel left in his chest by the attack. He uses the armored suit to escape. Back in the U.S. he announces his company will cease making weapons and he begins work on an updated armored suit only to find that Obadiah Stane, his second in command at Stark industries has been selling Stark weapons to the insurgents.
