We talk about how her discovery of a real food lifestyle rescued her from years of pain; her whirlwind adventure that led to the opening of her food truck; her vision for the restaurant, and some really great advice for entrepreneurs. Picnik began in 2013 as a food trailer housed in a repurposed shipping container off South Lamar in Austin, Texas. Naomi has a personal history of combating food allergies since childhood, which has led her journey to open the gluten-free food trailer known for the grab and go breakfasts and lunch items, as well as the buttered coffees, which I’ve consumed many of {laughs}. Naomi Seifter: {laughs} Cassy Joy: Bone broths, juices, and all with the focus on sourcing locally and using organic ingredients. The brick and mortar location of Picnik just opened on August 10th, and I was lucky enough to attend a really fun tasting dinner, so now I can even more emphatically tell you that this lady is killing it! So you know, I was one of these kids who was; basically I was sick my whole life, and my parents were both doctors, and somehow no one ever connected the dots that maybe my sickness was related to what I was eating. Apple heeft vorige week een rechtzaak aangespannen tegen HTC. Apple heeft ook al in de clinch gelegen met Nokia, maar nu gaan ze met deze zaak toch vol in de aanval met een rechtstreekse concurrent. (Why HTC, Apple? And Why Now?) Tips Jan is heel erg enthousiast over Feedly, een RSS-reader op steroïden. Zijn tweede tip is Google Public Data, om het in Jans woorden te zeggen: 'Een zeitgeist voor actuele data: populatie, olieprijzen, ... Cijfers, cijfers, cijfers...' Cindy is op haar beurt dan weer erg tevreden over Mendeley, software waarmee je research papers kan organiseren, delen en ontdekken. Een soort iTunes voor research papers. Jan en Frank voelden meteen een nieuwe verslaving opkomen. Frank heeft het over Yummysoup van HungrySeacow, een heel gemakkelijk receptenmanager voor de Mac. Stefaan vestigt even de aandacht op een andere (video) podcast die hij al een tijdje volgt namelijk IzzyVideo. IzzyVideo is dus een Video Podcast voor iedereen die zich bezig houdt met Video, zowel mensen die wat video's schieten van de jongste spruit als mensen die zich meer professioneel met video bezig houden. Which Sim? From Alex Hi all you guys, If i were going to use a flight simulator platform for general aviation flying, would it be logical to use x-plane or FSX? I know x-plane is more realistic in terms of aerodynamics, but the aircraft graphics are pathetic, compared to some pay-ware from FSX (carenado for example) However FSX is much more detailed in graphics, but in FSX, the aerodynamics are unrealistic because you just tell the airplane how fast it goes, how steep it can turn(as far as i know, correct me if i am wrong ;) ) Any ideas? Both aircrafts are products of love. First one is the Westland Lysander, I was captivated by its unique looks, and bought it right away. It has really amazing history - RAF used them to drop and pick up agents in France during WWII. Some time ago, in a previous email or voicemail, I mentioned a suite of products for both FS10 and FSX from Australia, which can be found at www.tweakfs.com The utilities are mainly about providing you with tools that make it easy for you to tweak your Flight Sim. I have had these utilities for some time now - but like most things, the more you explore the more you find. One that I would like to suggest as a 'hot' pick, is TweakFlight, which is available for both FS10 and FSX for US$24.95.What is even better is that you can download a demo version for 30 days For those simmers that like setting up scenarios or approaches, this allows you to do it all within a few key strokes, and you can continue to tweak it as and when you want. The navigation bar at the top covers 9 screens, all with different parameters that can be set for your flight, which can then be saved and edited at will. The screens cover:- Main - Title, description, date, time, camera views and aircraft position. This is neat, as you can select your position by just double clicking on a zoomable and moveable map, and set your height, heading and speed - just so cool. Autopilot - any of the functions of the autopilot can be preset Engines - for each engine you can set, Throttle, Prop, Mixture, RPM and Cowl and synchronise (or not) the engines Avionics - Set Master Switch, Com Radios, Nav Radios, ADF/Transponder, and DME/Audio Controls - Set spoilers, flaps, gear,brakes,yoke/rudder and trim Systems - choose which systems and lights you want on or off Fuel - quickly and simply set your fuel levels either by centre, left or right tanks or synchronise by % General - gives you the options to display or not, things like EFIS, ATC menu, simulation rate etc etc Briefing - create your own briefing notes - although this looks like you need some knowledge of HTML If you do decide to try it - I hope you get as much enjoyment as I have had Happy New Year to the Community http://secure.simmarket.com/tweakfs-tweakflight-fsx.phtml USB video card + flight sim = terrible, terrible idea   Hi Eric, Just a quick note: I can't speak for flight sim, but for X-Plane, no user should ever attempt to put any kind of X-Plane output onto a USB video card! The performance will be truly dreadful. X-Plan requires a "real" graphics card, meaning: - A graphics card that has a high quality 3-d accelerator on it and - that graphics card has to be in a slot wide enough for x-plane to just blast it with data. PCIe x16 is really a must, PCIe x16 2.0 is even better. USB is waaaay too slow. Yep...the processing has to come from somewhere. :-) It's a very smart idea for low-end computers...where the goal is to bring down price, where the CPU is already over-powered, where casual users probably aren't even using the second CPU. It's similar to what happened with sound cards...there's just no point in shipping sound cards with DSPs any more - that DSP is one more part, $20 more of cost (and that matters now, things are so cheap) when the second core can do sound mixing with 3% of its capacity. Of course, as flight simmers this sucks because it means the mainstream trend in hw (and what "most" new users who get a flight sim will already own) is a machine inappropriate to running FS X or x-plane. If I browse Dell's site, I can't even find the _option_ to put an ATI or NV card in most of the time, and when you do find a video card you find ... ... wait for it ... Radeon 4350 NVideo Geforce GTS 240 (You will find the 4350 at the BOTTOM of the 4xxx list - it is the most stripped down config. Surprisingly the GTS 240 isn't the bottom of the NV barrel, but being two levels down from the "real" part, the 280, it's going to be terrible for flight sim.) So a user who tries to build a "nice" machine before getting into flight sim is going to pay more and still get a machine that tanks. Dat alles aan een snelheid van 10 Gigabit / seconde en zelfs later tot 100 Gigabit / seconde. Je kan dan lijstjes van Twitter-vrienden maken bv. een lijstje met enkel de mensen die je bv. van je werk kent. Vooral handig als je veel met de Twitter-website werkt, maar men gaat het ook inbouwen in de API wat dus betekent dat ook de verschillende Twitter-applicaties de functie zullen ondersteunen. Als ze dat al niet deden. Twitter is daarnaast ook druk bezig met wat zij Project ReTweet noemen waarbij ze officieel het retweeten van een bericht zullen ondersteunen. Retweeten wil eigenlijk gewoon zeggen dat je quasi letterlijk herhaald wat iemand zegt op Twitter. Deze tip kan een nieuws software of hardware product zijn, een brokje tech nieuws, of zelfs gewoonweg een tip waarvan ze denken dat het interessant is voor het publiek. Deze week bracht ons panel de volgende tips naar voor : Cindy ging naar Het Andere boek en woonde er een sessie bij over 'De achterkant van het nieuws'. Het bleek heel interessant te zijn, vooral de visie over Social Media in de journalistiek. Marco had het dan weer over Photosketch. Een online programma waarmee je aan de hand van sleutelwoorden en een basis schets een compositie kan maken op basis van alle gevonden foto's die voldoen aan die criteria. Jojanneke vertelde ons over Picnik waarmee je online uw foto's kan bewerken. Het lijkt wel een klein online beeldbewerkingspakket. Daarnaast werd ook even over Mozy voor online / offsite backups. Volgens een bericht van de BBC zullen bloggers in de VS verplicht worden om te vermelden wanneer ze een product (waarover ze een artikel scrijven) gratis gekregen hebben. En terwijl iedereen het toch had over Online backups, wou Stefaan nog even de aandacht vestigen op Nomadesk voor Online backup and synchronisatie. Af en toe mogen we ook wel eens chauvinistisch zijn en wat aandacht vestigen op Belgische producten en bedrijven Maarten daarentegen bracht onze aandacht op Jungledisk.
