The hosts of the podcast episode begin by discussing recording issues and joking about the stock market. They then transition into discussing Trump's lap at NASCAR, reminiscing about the sport's history stemming from Rum Runner days and how times have changed. This is followed by humorous speculation regarding their absent co-host, Rem, and his potential misinterpretations. Later in the episode, the hosts engage with listener questions, offer travel advice (suggesting Dollywood), and read an advertisement for the FAA. They also introduce a segment called "What Would Jesus Draw," where they use AI to generate humorous images. They also determine the "Dick of the Week". The episode concludes with a discussion about the show "Love is Blind" and some final thoughts before saying goodbye.

She was a boxer, an opera singer, and a rum runner. Nellie Green made it through 13 years of Prohibition with just one team member getting arrested, while keeping her patrons well supplied with alcohol. She also distributed some of her liquor to other bootleggers further inland, making hefty profits. How did this singing sensation – with a knock-out punch – end up being one of the biggest rum runners in the northeast?

Friday's Toy Drive was a massive success, despite some of the live singing displayed by Chaz's wife, Jennifer. Plus, a Tribe member was passing out "special" brownies to some members of the broadcast team. (0:00)  In Dumb Ass News, a man with a saxophone tries to help passengers on a delayed plane, but no one in the studio felt like he was helping. (5:11)  Jennifer wasn't the only one to display some bad vocals, Chaz also ran into trouble while singing his own "CEO Song." Plus, some excellent singing by the Rum Runners and Josey Scott. (13:27)   Eddie from Brown Roofing was on the phone this morning to talk about the newly adjusted total from the Toy Drive, since they submitted a $5,000 check right at the end. (20:41)  Chef David Standridge from Shipwright's Daughter has been recognized as Chef of the Year by The Crazies. He was on the phone with Chaz and AJ this morning, to share how his kitchen floor provided a lot of the inspiration and motivation that has lead to his success and recognition.  (26:47)

(0:00)  Fox 61's Matt Scott was on the phone to recap his time in the box from last night, enduring 2 hours of DeBarge. Plus, the difficulty he had trying to interview Chaz for a live hit, shortly after he walked into the box. (7:38)  WFSB's Scot Haney called in to talk about the Battle of the Box, and agreed to join Chaz for a 24-hour shift in 2025, if a certain donation threshold could be met. (20:28)  Boss Keith had to endure more than just Tom Jones' "What's New, Pussycat?" for three hours, as flutes and piccolos showed up, and the Rum Runners played a special parody song just for him. John Pierson from News 8 was on site to help with the play-by-play for Chaz and AJ. (36:53)  Keith finally exits the box, and Ruth tallies all of the donations for each and every participant. “You're Bill McCoy.” “Never heard of him.” This is the story of a crazy decade-plus when America outlawed booze…but the liquor kept flowing.  The Prohibition era marks a partial return to the Golden Age of Piracy, with bootleggers frequenting old haunts in the Caribbean, including Nassau, capital of The Bahamas. These sailors are also buying, selling, and drinking copious amounts of—you guessed it—rum. But how does all this booze get from the Bahamas to speakeasies in New York?  William “Bill” McCoy is a legendary rumrunner, one of the best. He'll be our captain as we explore Nassau's offerings, buy from the Bootleg Queen of The Bahamas, Gertrude “Cleo” Lythgoe and set out on a 1923 voyage up “Rum Row” to New York, carefully avoiding the actual pirates and the US Coast Guard. Once we square away a buyer, we'll take our haul to shore with Maisie Manders and enjoy a few well-earned drinks in Manhattan. What is climate change doing to Florida's favorite foods?

Climate change is affecting the foods we love and need for their nutritional value, including some of Florida's favorites such as the Cuban Sandwich, fried gator bites, key lime pie, and the Rum Runner. Using foods and drinks like these is an exceptional way to tell the climate change story and get the attention of everyone. After all, we all eat to live. Rising temperatures, how, when, and where precipitation falls, and even the air, which now has 50% more carbon dioxide than in the past, are affecting the availability, flavor, price, and nutritional quality of our food. And getting them to our table is getting more complicated as transportation routes face new risks. The changes happening to our food are unlimited, as are the stories to tell. What is being done to keep our favorites and staples on the menu and what we can all do to tackle the grand challenge of climate change will be discussed.   Michael P Hoffmann, Author and Professor Emeritus at Cornell, joins us to tell the story of climate change as seen through its effects on the food we eat. His message is science-based, and if you want to hear more after today's episode, check out his Ted Talk - TEDx, Climate Change: It's Time to Raise Our Voices; or consider buying his book, Our Changing Menu: Climate Change and the Foods We Love and Need.  Links from this episode:  Ted X Talk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIeU001iYTo  Cornell University Press ordering info and where the discount code (09SAVE) can be used-- https://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/9781501754623/our-changing-menu/  Info about the eCornell Climate Change leadership course can be found here - https://ecornell.cornell.edu/courses/leadership-and-strategic-management/climate-change-leadership/. Since then, one thing after another has prevented us from reaching the paradise that exists right at the very tip of the continental U.S. Well, we ran FINALLY out of obstacles and excuses... and at last we were able to head out on a weekend getaway to Key West. Our friends Carly and Mike from the West Coast also made the trip and we were amped to pick them up outside of Miami along the way. From the anti-corporate vibe of Islamorada to the unwinding views from Seven Mile Bridge, our 4 days in the gateway to the Caribbean were as epic as they were expensive. Denise found a pirate hideaway and James found a way not to tip the sea kayak. Grab yourself a colada and kick back while we lay out the ups and downs of our journey to the Florida Keys! Headlining chefs at NPIWFF include Aaron Sanchez, Andrew Zimmern, Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael White, Jose Andres, Duff Goldman and more!    Besides the chefs tastings, there are events including the Rum Runner's Walking Tour, Sunset Dinner Cruises, wine tastings and more.    Schrager's wine & food festivals have always been focused on culinary greatness and giving back.
