-2 matchups for Mauritius -1 t20 for Mauritius -1 outright for Mauritius -1 outright for PNC Championship Mauritius Open Analysis Tournament Context Key Matchups and Predictions: Ding Wenyi vs. Gavin Green (3:00 - 8:00): Ding, a rookie out of China, is favored over Green (-140). Ding's recent form: 3 top-25 finishes in 6 starts since turning pro, including a tied 5th at the Australian Open. Green has struggled, finishing 47th at the Dunhill and missing cuts previously at this event. Will predicts Ding will dominate, with Green likely missing the cut. John Perry vs. Gavin Green (8:00 - 10:00): Perry (-145) has had a resurgence, winning twice on the Challenge Tour in 2024 and finishing tied 2nd at the Alfred Dunhill last week. Perry's consistency contrasts Green's struggles, making him a strong pick. Andrea Pavan (Top 20) (10:00 - 12:00): Odds: +190 on Bet365. Pavan has two top-20 finishes in previous Mauritius Open events and showed promise last week with a 24th-place finish at Leopard Creek. Outright Winner: Angel Iora (12:00 - 15:30): Odds: 18-to-1 on BetOnline. Iora, a young and promising player, narrowly missed victory last week due to a late mistake. Will believes Iora's consistent top finishes make him a solid contender for his first DP World Tour title. PNC Championship Analysis Tournament Context (15:30 - 16:00): The PNC Championship features iconic parent-child duos at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. Despite fan-favorites like Tiger and Charlie Woods (+650) and the Dalys (+400), Will advises against picking them due to health and performance concerns for the senior members. Key Teams and Predictions: Steve and Izzy Stricker (20-to-1) (16:00 - 16:30): Steve had a strong Champions Tour season, but Izzy's inconsistent college performance raises doubts about their chances. Trevor and Jacob Immelman (40-to-1) (16:30 - 17:00): Trevor's lack of competitive play since retiring makes this team unlikely contenders, despite Jacob's talent. Nelly and Peter Korda (28-to-1) (17:00 - 17:30): Nelly is coming off a stellar LPGA season, but Peter's golf skills may not be enough to secure a win. Outright Winner: Matt and Cameron Kuchar (+650) (17:30 - 19:37): Cameron's strong junior results and Matt's active PGA Tour schedule make them the most competitive team. Their performance last year (opening round 57) and Matt's recent top finishes make them the clear favorites. Quotes and Timestamp Analysis “You have a brutal field in Africa this week...” (2:20): Highlights the weak field quality, which sets the stage for up-and-coming players like Ding and Iora. “Ding Wenyi is very comparable to Ludwig Oberg...” (4:00): Establishes Ding as a rising talent with similarities to an established star, underscoring his potential dominance. “Iora might already be a winner...” (13:30): Reflects Iora's close-call finishes, positioning him as a likely breakout star. “I was shocked that Tiger decided to play this week...” (17:40): Will critiques Tiger's physical condition as a major obstacle for Team Woods. “This is a no-brainer for me...Team Kuchar...” (18:30): Emphasizes the strength of the Kuchars as clear tournament favorites. Player and Team Insights Ding Wenyi: 3 top-25 finishes since turning pro, highlighted by strong iron play and consistency. Gavin Green: Struggling with approach shots, making him a weak contender in matchups. John Perry: Recent success on the Challenge Tour positions him as a strong player this week. Angel Iora: Stellar form with multiple top finishes; a prime candidate for his first win. Matt and Cameron Kuchar: Blend of professional experience and junior talent makes them formidable. In this special episode, Stacie joins Shirlee Fisher for a presentation within The Tillage Village Membership. In her talk, Stacie delves deep into the intricacies of procrastination, exploring how to turn it from a foe into a powerful ally. She shares her personal journey with procrastination, distinguishing between negative and positive procrastination, and emphasizes the transformative potential of structured delay. Through candid stories and practical advice, Stacie provides listeners with strategies to embrace procrastination intentionally, boosting productivity and creativity in the process.   Today on Art + Audience: Introduction to Positive Procrastination: Stacie explains the concept of positive procrastination, which involves postponing non-urgent tasks to make space for more fulfilling and meaningful activities. She describes how this approach can help creatives harness their natural tendencies for better outcomes. Stacie's Personal Anecdote on Podcast Launch: Stacie recounts her struggle with launching her podcast. After months of feeling pressured and uninspired, she chose to delay the launch. Once she relieved herself of the rigid deadline, her creativity flowed, and she was able to record the podcast with renewed energy. The Difference Between Negative and Positive Procrastination: Stacie discusses the characteristics of negative procrastination, such as avoidance and unintentional delays, and contrasts them with the intentional nature of positive procrastination, where tasks are postponed for strategic reasons. Harnessing Structured Procrastination: Drawing from Dr. John Perry's research, Stacie shares how structured procrastinators get more done by completing smaller, less urgent tasks while delaying bigger projects—without guilt or shame. Setting Up for Success with Intentional Delays: Stacie advises on how to plan tasks effectively, allowing ideas to mature over time. She emphasizes the importance of aligning deadlines with personal work rhythms, rather than forcing early starts that may lead to unnecessary stress and subpar work. Practical Tips for Overcoming Negative Procrastination: Stacie offers actionable steps, such as breaking tasks into smaller steps, setting "smarter" goals, and integrating rituals that can help shift from negative to positive procrastination.   Resources: Dr. John Perry's Work on Structured Procrastination Book: Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz Arthur C. Summary In this sermon, Pastor Perry discusses the global harvest of souls that is growing exponentially and the reluctance of the church to respond to God's call. Through various examples, he illustrates the importance of being willing to go and share the gospel, highlighting the dire need for missionaries in untouched regions. Chapters 00:00 Introduction to the Missionary Call05:55 The Plea for Laborers12:09 The Global Harvest and Its Urgency17:51 Reluctance in the Church24:06 Responding to the Call29:52 Conclusion and Call to ActionTakeaways What are you going to do with life between now and whenever? The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Every generation has been given a missionary calling. The global population is growing, and so is the need for evangelism. We must be global Christians with a global vision. Hearing the voice of the Lord is not enough; we must be willing to go. The church's reluctance to respond to the call is tragic. The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time. We have a responsibility to reach the lost. Can God ask you for your best? Sound Bites "What are you going to do with life?" Key Learning Points: Developing self-awareness is very difficult for some people. You can develop yourself through reflection, enhancing your self-awareness, whereby you then go on to try out new things, you learn from different situations, you understand why you felt that way and why you reacted why you did in certain situations. The key driver in the development of mental toughness is self-awareness. Learning about our mental toughness can enable us to understand more about our mental approach in specific situations. Self-awareness then allows us to make the necessary changes to our approach so that we can perform better or improve our psychological well-being. 148 - Strategies for Taking Control of Procrastination Today, we're diving into the world of overcoming procrastination and how you can take control of your life. We'll be drawing insights from the book “The Art of Procrastination” by John Perry, which provides practical solutions for beating this common hurdle. I talk about strategies that can help you tackle procrastination head-on! One of the best ways to overcome procrastination is to set reminders, break down tasks into smaller, more manageable goals, and collaborate with others. These methods can help you stay on track and motivated to take action. In addition, it's important to find a system that works for you. Whether it's using a planner, a project management tool, or a productivity app, finding a system that suits your needs can help you stay focused and on task. But, it's not just about work. Taking moments to enjoy life and finding ways to use technology to your advantage can also help you overcome procrastination. By understanding the underlying causes of procrastination, like perfectionism, disorganization, and depression, you can begin to address these issues and improve your overall well-being. Take that first step towards overcoming procrastination by thinking of one thing you can do to avoid a problem that would cause you to procrastinate. Remember, every small step counts and incremental improvements can lead to big changes in your life. startwithsmallsteps.com/?p=3678 getting-around-to-writing-art-of-procrastination change-your-life-procrastination-burkeman Jill's Links https://www.buymeacoffee.com/smallstepspod Twitter SmallStepsPod Email the podcast at jill@startwithsmallsteps.com

147 - The Art of Overcoming Procrastination Today, I will talk about something that affects all of us at some point in our lives: procrastination. We all know the feeling of putting things off until the last minute, but what if I told you there's a way to tackle this once and for all? First off, I want to recommend a book that has completely changed my perspective on the topic. It's called “The Art of Procrastination” by John Perry, and it's a game-changer. Perry identifies himself as a “structured procrastinator,” and his insights into the root causes of procrastination are spot-on. One of the biggest culprits behind procrastination is perfectionism. We all strive for perfection, but it's an unattainable goal that only holds us back from accomplishing our tasks. Instead, we should focus on taking small steps and completing simple tasks. Perry recommends task triage and creating a “don't list” to avoid distractions and keep us on track. Another obstacle to productivity is depression, which can make even the simplest tasks seem insurmountable. But fear not! Perry has a solution for that too. He suggests creating playlists of upbeat music to lift our mood and energize us, and organizing our tasks in a way that provides a sense of accomplishment. So, what's the key to overcoming procrastination? Self-awareness and self-discipline. By identifying the root causes of our procrastination and taking small steps toward completing tasks, we can break the cycle and achieve our goals. Remember: don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today! startwithsmallsteps.com/?p=3672 getting-around-to-writing-art-of-procrastination change-your-life-procrastination-burkeman Jill's Links https://www.buymeacoffee.com/smallstepspod Twitter SmallStepsPod Email the podcast at jill@startwithsmallsteps.com

John is just as famous for his flies that have become internationally known as well. This is one of those podcasts that you will want to listen to a few times. Each time you do you will pick up something new. Whether it's the story of John learning Latin so he could better understand the science of Entomology (the study of insects) which ultimately helped him tie better flies or his mix of humor, spirituality and dedication to hard work that has made him an incredible mentor to the guides that currently work with him today or have learned from him in the past. As Downrigger put it, “After recording this podcast I walked away not knowing if I had just spent close to an hour with a man that is insane, brilliant or both.  All I know is somehow I just became a better fisherman, and my stomach still hurts from laughing! I can't wait to listen to this podcast again!”.  Mixed in throughout this podcast is information about all kinds of things from when and where to find the fish to how to read a river so you know what to use to catch them.
