LinkedIn is a team sport. Do you have the right players on your team? "You go further and faster, the more you work together. And so that's the thing that companies especially need to focus on is, the more people you can get involved - and I don't mean - just go and dump everyone in the deep end and say, you know, we did two hours of training, you're on your own now. Good luck!" - Michelle J Raymond, Making Conversations Count - February 2023  In an area with expensive internet? Here's a lower bandwidth version for you   Let's talk about the benefits of maintaining LinkedIn page management of your company page LinkedIn is an essential tool for businesses. We know this. Duh!  I mean, it's the B2B social media platform. It's been providing an invaluable platform to reach a vast network of potential customers and partners for coming up to 20 years now.  But most people only ever think about LinkedIn as that place you set up as an online CV. It's been much more than that for quite some time now. And by taking the time to create a LinkedIn company page and effectively manage it, businesses can gain an advantage in the competition for attention, leading to significant growth. A LinkedIn company page can be used to showcase a business's mission, values and successes, as well as providing real-time updates on products, services and offers. But more than that, it can be used to leverage all the juicy organic reach that LinkedIn still offers via the external benefits of SEO. Not to mention the relationships with customers and partners. In this episode we're joined by LinkedIn company pages expert Michelle J Raymond who talks us through why we need to get on top of our LinkedIn page management! You'll learn... Making Conversations Count: Honest, relatable conversations with business leaders

Do you know the business rules game? "There's three parts of every business and if you fail in any one of the three, you're going to be out of business. One of them is the fulfillment part. You have to deliver, produce whatever it is you're selling. And your ability to do that will dictate whether you stay in business. So that's why one of the eight unbreakable rules is your business plan. What is it going to take to attract customers, sell the customers and then provide what it is you have agreed to? And then what is the service end on the back end? Is there a warranty, customer service, et cetera? You got to cover all of it. Thing is just that's great and that's important, but that just gets the ball rolling. Now we got to play the game." - Sean Castrina, Making Conversations Count - December 2022  In an area with expensive internet? Prior to this, Wendy led European sales at CarGurus for over three years and before that, she was the Head of EMEA enterprise sales at Dropbox. She also spent over a decade working in financial services as a trader for Goldman Sachs. Wendy brings a wealth of technology sales management experience to the role. This year, Wendy will be hiring in Dublin across a variety of go-to-market roles including sales and customer success. We kick off by asking Wendy to share her career journey and what has led her to where she is today. The path less travelled. Getting into tech. Joined as the first employee for Europe at Gong. We ask Wendy how daunting it was to enter the tech world. Your ramp will be longer. Cut in the title and cut in compensation. Real intent. Do it to the best of your ability. We ask Wendy what her thoughts are on the importance of industry experience for a leadership role. Established companies. Robust training. Impact. Then we ask Wendy how that journey fine-tuned her process of finding talent. Open to hiring people from different industries. Finance. Get out if you're miserable. Next, we ask Wendy where she feels her sense of accountability comes from. Upbringing. Experience in sports. Competitive. Hero or victim of your story. We ask Wendy how should we coach grit and tenacity. Self-awareness. The world owes you nothing. Then we ask Wendy what they do at Gong and how she copes with accents in EMEA. A revenue intelligence platform. Once you see it, you can't un-see it. Next, we asked Wendy what she would say to people who ask about the human element of this technology. Democritises information. Makes sales reps stronger. Insanely good technology. We ask Wendy about global expansion. Hard to get off the ground. Strategic priorities. Local pull for the market. Hire a local person. Then we ask Wendy what challenges has she faced in the tech world with it being made dominated. Used to being the only woman in the room. If you are the first woman in any room, it's your responsibility to keep the door open for other women. Identify as “me”. We ask Wendy how we translate culture. Roar laughing. Take holidays. Leaders set the tone. We ask Wendy what is the outlook of the company for the future. Benelux, Nordics, Germany and France. Gong Assist. 110 by the end of the year. Lastly, we ask Wendy if she has a tool she cants live without that helps her stay organised and accountable. Block out the calendar before 10 am. Trello. Hyper-organised. Filing cabinets in her head. If you say you're going to do something, do it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/gloabl-tech-leaders/message

After listening to a 3-in-30 episode highlighting the tragedy of child drowning, Kaitlyn knew that she wanted to put her kids in survival swim lessons (after all--Brittany and Kaity spend a lot of their summers on a boat). Kaitlyn found Little Squirts Aquatics in Northwest Arkansas, but she felt like she experienced more than just swim lessons. She felt like she was empowering her children with skills and confidence that would help them in years to come. In today's episode, we talk about the details of what those experiences were like, and how you, too, can empower your children and have a sound mind around the water. Our Guests: Libby McFarland is the founder and owner of Little Squirts Aquatics in NW Arkansas. For the past decade, she, her husband, Mike, and their two boys, Maxwell and Jackson, have called NWA home. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing sports, and cheering on the Razorbacks and Packers. When her oldest son turned six months old, she researched survival swim programs in her area and was disappointed in the results. For nearly ten years, she worked as an accountant and grew tired of the corporate environment. She wanted to pursue something she was passionate about while spending more time with her family thus becoming a certified Infant Aquatics swim instructor came naturally. Nearly seven years ago, Little Squirts Aquatics was born. Libby is proud to have grown her business to include two fellow Infant Aquatics instructors and two wonderful maintenance instructors. She and her team recognize the importance of providing children confidence and appreciation of the water and look forward to continuing to serve NWA for many years to come! Wendy Harris is originally from northeast Ohio, but now proudly calls Arkansas home. She resides in Rogers Arkansas with her husband Wes and their three beautiful children Logan, Mackenzie & Ellie. She enjoys traveling, is a hopeless Cleveland sports fanatic, and loves spending time with my family. Growing up, her 12 years as a competitive swimmer, and work experience as a lifeguard and head swim coach instilled in her a love for the water and a passion for water safety. After experiencing a non-fatal drowning incident with her son during a traditional group swim lesson in 2019, she was on a mission to find something better. After witnessing first-hand the skills and confidence all three of her children achieved in completing the LSA survival swim program she was inspired by the realization that she too could make a difference in the prevention of childhood drowning. As a certified instructor it's her mission to ensure as many children in NWA gain the skills to self-rescue and prevent any parent from experiencing the terror and grief associated with childhood drowning --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/themamaretreat/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/themamaretreat/support
