Welcome to a special episode of Transforming Trauma featuring NARM creator Dr. Laurence Heller and NARM Senior Trainer Brad Kammer. This webinar provides a glimpse into the NARM Inner Circle online program and invites clinicians, therapists, and helping professionals to explore the foundation of health and trust upon which NARM is built.  Brad and Larry begin this conversation with a reflective exercise, then zoom out to reveal a link between suboptimal emotional and physical health and the survival patterns acquired in response to developmental trauma. Throughout their conversation, Larry and Brad also identify ways in which this model of health and trust informs the four pillars of NARM––clarifying the therapeutic contract, asking exploratory questions, reinforcing agency, reflecting psychobiological shifts––and impacts client-practitioner interactions. This is a generalised statement but what I've found along my travels in my life and in my career is that most women have this superpower and it's that they have the superpower of not owning their superpower!   If you're a woman reading this right now? Ask yourself how many times you've dismissed or downplayed your own superpowers by saying something like "Isn't that normal? Everyone can do what I do."   Funnily and sadly, the answer to that question is NO.   Not everyone can do what you do in the way you do it. The only person that can do that is YOU.   On this episode, I chat with Jennifer Myers on: Own your superpowers - it's important! Ask for feedback - it can help you to identify your superpowers and grow Why self-responsibility, self-leadership and communication improve the we (team) and the me (individual) Get clear on what success means to you rather than what you've been sold it means Plus so much more!⁣   Jennifer is a Certified Leadership & Business Coach, International Trainer and Speaker and Author. Listening is a critical component of successful conversations, yet it often goes overlooked. Today's guest, Dr. Debra Dupree, shares why individuals may not be listening in conversations and how to redirect challenging confrontations into learning opportunities.   In this episode, we talk about: How has the field of neuroscience helped us better understand human behavior The difference between a fixed mindset versus a growth mindset What is emotional potential and how you show up matters What can people do to strengthen their conflict communication Effective communication requires both speaking and active listening Three tips for growing your emotional intelligence Memorable Quotes "You and I can look at a problem together, but what we see in that problem could be two entirely different things." "Your emotional potential is really about doing that self-study of who am I? And then, how do I manage myself?" "Lots of lost opportunities happen as a result of not knowing who we are and how we wanna show up with others."  "Leave people intact in conversations, not attacked." BIO:  Dr. Debra Dupree, the MINDSET Doc, has long been inspired to help others grow out of their FEAR of CONFLICT. She saw her own family-owned business embroiled in differences and disagreements, leading to dashed dreams, damaged relationships, and broken hearts. She turned these early experiences into a lifetime of study and application to the business world, working with leaders at all levels of an organization.   As she sees it, people have a financial, and a personal, need to work but work doesn't always feel 'psychologically safe' - and this is true at every level of the organization. Dr. D works with individuals and organizations to show up in ways that matter with influence, persuasion, and cohesion to make collaborative and meaningful environments.   Today, she takes her world-wide community to a new level of understanding with empathy and compassion using strategic skills and techniques that turn challenging confrontations into curious conversations for learning, living and growing for cohesive workplaces.   Dr. Debra is a Dispute Resolution Specialist, Conflict | Leadership Coach, and International Trainer and Keynote Speaker. She is also the host of the bi-weekly podcast 'Decoding the Conflict Mindset' bringing 'thought leaders' from various disciplines to her worldwide community to gain insight on self and others in challenging conversations, when high emotions run high, facing tough negotiations and confrontations. Facilitated by host Emily, Dr. Laurence Heller and Dr. Stephen Porges engage in a stimulating conversation about safety cues, life-threat reactions, shame, and connection as our “biological imperative.” Dr. Porges, a distinguished neuroscientist and originator of the Polyvagal Theory, emphasizes the importance of physiological states in expressing trauma-related behavioral and health problems.  The fascinating exploration takes the listener on a journey of understanding trauma: from learning how the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) and the Polyvagal Theory have profoundly impacted the knowledge of trauma and how the two frameworks relate. Dr. Heller: “What we learn in adapting to connection failures very early on in life is what we have a tendency to carry forward, not just on a cognitive level but on an emotional level and a physiological level.” About Dr. Larry Heller and Dr. Stephen Porges:  Dr. Laurence Heller is the creator of the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Senior Faculty member, International Trainer, and author.  Stephen W. Porges, Ph.D., is Distinguished University Scientist at Indiana University, where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium. He is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina and Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. In 1994, Dr. Porges proposed the Polyvagal Theory. Florian Fritz is the Money Teacher and is the founder of the Money Hero Academy, where he is teaching how to create financial freedom by improving your money mindset, money management and money-making skills. As a financial advisor, Florian realized during the last financial crisis in 2008 that the financial industry was only looking out for their own best interest and not that of their clients. That's why he learned from some of the world's best financial coaches like Robert Kiyosaki and his Rich Dad advisors and many others how wealth creation really works. He tested many of the learnings working with a real estate company, increasing their sales by 86% per year on average for 9 years and helping hundreds of people to improve their investment returns. He created a system from what he learned and his own experience that allows everyone to take control of their finances and create the life of their dreams instead of always hoping for the next raise or the next client. Florian is an International Trainer who has shared virtual stages with people like Robert Kiyosaki, Nick Vujicic, Joseph Mclendon III and many others.

Patrick O'Banion joins us to speak about Girolamo Zanchi and his book, The Spiritual Marriage between Christ and His Church and Every One of the Faithful. O’Banion translated and introduced a new edition of the book published by Reformation Heritage Books. Zanchi was an Italian Reformer, with close ties to Peter Martyr Vermigli. Developing from Girolamo Zanchi's exegetical labors through Ephesians, Spiritual Marriage draws readers into the rich theological of doctrine of union with Christ. Following the lead of the apostle Paul, Zanchi demonstrates how our earthly marriages fulfill their truest purpose by drawing our attention toward the spiritual marriage between Christ and His Church. By paying attention to the Genesis account of Adam's marriage to Eve, to pertinent Old Testament laws, and to the teachings of Jesus and His apostles, we begin to understand something of that higher and heavenly union. This new translation helps us better understand the great mystery of Christ and His bride. Patrick O'Banion is International Trainer at Training Leaders International. Paul has dedicated the last 27 years to helping people, either as The Emergency Response Manager at the Channel Tunnel and the Mindset Maestro for business owners. In 2019 Paul partnered with Lisa Johnson - creator of “Passion for Passive” an owner of the massively successful “GSD” Facebook group - to help her clients with a wide variety of mindset issues. Paul has turned his lifelong interest in the mind and human behaviour into his new career helping people remove unwanted mental baggage and to step out of their own way. He also attended Tony Robbins’ “Unleash the Power Within” Weekend and walked on hot coals. In preparation for his new venture, Paul spent much of 2018 training and learning new skills. One of the highlights was Logan Murray's Stand Up Comedy course, during which he performed two live stand up gigs. The “graduation” gig held at The Water Rats, North London, where Oasis played their first concert in the capital. Paul has plenty of testimonials that showcase how he has helped clients.
