Full Episode Notes are available HERESarah Jones, Tony Award-winning performer and comedian, is making a different kind of documentary. She calls it an ‘unorthodoc' about sex, power, race, and our economy and how you even talk about such things in today's polarized and commercial media world. "Sell/Buy/Date” expands on Jones' acclaimed 2016 off-Broadway solo production of the same name. She plays herself in the film along with four different characters that she's created, as well as real people whom she interviews, including people in the sex industry with an array of opinions about it. You will see activists of all kinds alongside celebrities. Rosario Dawson and Bryan Cranston make an appearance. And of course, there's Sarah's own mom. The film, produced by Meryl Streep, is in some theaters now and starts streaming November 8 on Amazon Prime. Join Laura, Sarah, and a few unexpected guests for this honest (and hilarious) conversation. “We think of the sex industry as the oldest profession. It's really more like the oldest conversation we're not having in an honest way, about something that affects us all as human beings.” - Sarah Jones“I love the expression, 'hurt people hurt people, but free people free people.' I'd love to see all of us across the gender continuum [free ourselves] around this very tricky topic of capitalism and sex and where they merge.” - Sarah Jones Guest: Sarah Jones, Tony Award-winning Solo Performer, Writer, Comedian & Activist; Director & Star, Sell/Buy/Date The show is made possible by listeners like you. TW: Tori was in her cups and demands snacks from the Aussies several times this episode. The boys are back with us for this episode. I quickly told on myself on why calling the Bobby Barton Chronicles BBC may be the wrong abbreviation for it. Although it would trendy quickly as a hashtag. Leading off with a story from Melissa in Mississppi (Melissa in actually in my hometown now) about Stucky's Bridge. Crime gangs, a serial killer innkeeper, and a river named Chunky, this story has it all. Caught in a murder spree to rob his patrons, Stucky was strung up on the bridge in question. He still shows up in ghost form that haunts the area to this day. Krys comes up with another story given to us by Harley about the St James Station tunnel which is under the current train routes. Thee tunnels were given many new uses including mushroom farm, air raid shelter, and currently an underground tunnel with is home to albino eels. This has also served as the backdrop to numerous tv shows and movies. Wait, did we mention the monster? Chuck volunteers his opinion on the monster and of course Tori jumps to aliens. More abandon tunnels and an excavated cemeteries=ghosts. Maybe even a Storm Trooper shoot out as well(only one bullet hole for a gunfight=Storm Troopers.) Plenty of ghosts hanging out in those tunnels as well. Tori brings on home to Indiana for the Pest House in Knightstown. Cue a smallpox epidemic and the National Guard getting involved. The Thornhill house was built for Charles Morgan and his wife Alvira. Due to Alvira's declining health the pair moved further into town. Thornhill stood empty until the Board of Health bought to move the smallpox patients to keep them away from the healthy citizens. This gave Thornhill the moniker the Pest House. This is still a legendary haunted spot to scare your friends at to this day. We return this week after our trip to the movies to see Marvel's Ant-man to continue our coverage of Agent Carter Bridge and Tunnel the second episode of season one of the TV series Agent Carter. This episode was directed by Joe Russo who brought us the wonderful Captain America: Winter Soldier and will bring us Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War very soon, it's also written by Eric Pearson the writer behind the Marvel One-Shots including "A funny thing happened on the way to Thor's hammer", "Item 47" and of course the Marvel One-Shot: "Agent Carter". It's great to see such a pedigree brought to the TV Show. In episode 2 we see the contrasting investigations of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), The SSR and the quiet man in the green suit all leading to the home of Sheldon McFee (Devin Ratray). While Agent Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) gets closer to the trail of the "blond" from Spider's Club. We also have a tender moment between Peggy and Jarvis (James D'Arcy) as he becomes a closer confidant and supportive influence on the life of our WW2 veteran. Finally we receive an obscure lead from Leet Brannis (James Frain soon to appear as a returning character on Gotham) which may lead Peggy to the nefarious Leviathan. As always thanks for listening to our Agent Carter Bridge and Tunnel Podcast if you have any thoughts on Agent Carter, Ant-Man or of course Daredevil please send them to feedback@defenderstvpodcast.com. Things really heat up in episode 2 of Marvel's Agent Carter as she's forced to take on Captain America's mantle in a purely symbolic way while suffering Jarvis's fussiness, and dodging the affections of Angie Martinelli and the suspicions of the SSR. It's all just another day in Peggy Carter's world. Meanwhile back here at FemPop HQ Jill Scharr and I are hard at work figuring out if Peggy really does fight a guy on top of a moving car while wearing heels, a long skirt and a bullet in the thigh. Peggy Carter is there anything you can't do? Well, I guess bring back your one true love--Captain America. But let's stop pretending we're radio announcers in a 1946 radio drama and get down to brass tacks. In this episode we dive deep to talk about whether or not Peggy's technically a super hero and then we get distracted a few times gabbing about Angie's huge and adorable crush on Peggy. It's a blast.

Two episodes in one week! J.D., Page, and Devon tackle episode 2 of Agent Carter, debating on whether or not a two-hour premiere hurt the pacing of the show, praising the majesty that is Angie, and tackling whether or not the show is a trail-blazer for feminism. It's 1946 and S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't exist. But the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) does. And that's where Captain America's former girlfriend is utilizing her talents. (Mostly to try to clear the name of her friend Howard Stark.) The SSR thinks he's selling weapons to our enemies. So she starts to investigate the truth, and track down all of the powerful missing tech, with the help of Stark's personal butler Jarvis. But there are some voiceless bad guys trying to get the Nitramene weapons before her. Who will get the bombs? Who will stop Leviathan before it's too late? And who's going to get us some coffee? Well, the answer to at least one of these has to be Agent Peggy Carter. SSR Station Chiefs Jay and Josh will investigate the many adventures of this dangerous dame on this week's Agent Carter: Case Files. Download now, to decrypt the coded telegram directly to your phonograph!
Welcome, ladies and gents; Agent Carter has arrived! In this podcast, we break down the goings on for the pilot episode, as well as episode 102 (the latter of which starts at the 41:10 mark). Happy listening!MP3iTunes
