Drs. Bass and Edinger break down what a facelift can and can't do. Facelifts are great for tightening loose skin, lifting jowls, and restoring volume in the face and neck—helping you look more refreshed and youthful. But they don't address everything. Wrinkles, sun damage, and changes around the eyes and brows usually need other treatments. There's a big difference between how facelifts are described online and how surgeons talk about them. The doctors break down that language gap so you know what those buzzwords actually mean. Bottom line: A facelift is the gold standard for sagging skin, but knowing its limits is key to getting natural-looking results. Find out who's a good candidate for a facelift, how long the results typically last, and whether combining it with other procedures might give you the outcome you're really looking for. In this episode, Dr. Anthony Youn, known as "America's Holistic Plastic Surgeon," dives into the topic of jowls, exploring what causes them, how to prevent them, and the various treatment options available. He explains that jowls, which are the sagging skin along the jawline, can be attributed to factors like aging, genetics, and lifestyle choices. To help prevent them, Dr. Youn suggests following an anti-inflammatory diet that's rich in collagen, using sunscreen, and incorporating retinol into your skincare routine. For those with mild jowls, he discusses non-invasive treatments such as Morpheus8 and the Nefertiti lift, but he advises caution with procedures like Kybella and thread lifts due to their potential risks. In more severe cases, he recommends considering a lower facelift. Throughout the discussion, Dr. Youn stresses the importance of taking a holistic approach to skincare and the aging process. Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell Aston, who uses FaceTite or AccuTite as a complementary procedure with almost every facelift he does, joins Dr. Bass in the 4th episode of our series "Lifting Without Cutting," to discuss how it delivers more complete rejuvenation. Dr. Aston often pairs these bipolar radiofrequency treatments with face and neck lifts to address what surgery alone cannot, such as wrinkles or localized areas of laxity. While FaceTite and AccuTite are in a large class of devices using radiofrequency energy to heat and remodel tissue, they stand out because they deliver far more energy to the underlying tissue and can be more precisely customized to each patient's needs. A wide range of people can benefit from these treatments, from young patients with some skin laxity who aren't ready for surgery to post-facelift patients who want to touch up their results. Patients appear visibly tighter and more contoured almost immediately after FaceTite or AccuTite, but the results don't stop there. Improvements in tightness and overall skin quality continue over the following months as new collagen continues to build. Hear Dr. Aston and Dr. Bass discuss how this cutting edge non-surgical treatment is done, best candidates, what's involved in terms of the experience and recovery, and how it's shaping the future of aesthetics. About Dr. Sherrell Aston Dr. Sherrell Aston is a professor of plastic surgery at New York University School of Medicine, a past president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and was the chair of plastic surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital for 23 years. He also has run an international symposium that was for many years the largest aesthetic plastic surgery meeting in the world. Learn more about Dr. Sherrell Aston About Dr. Lawrence Bass Innovator. September 7, 2018 One of the finest albums of the fall season that deserves space in your autumn playlist (right alongside everything Sabbath & Zeppelin) is PIG DESTROYER's 2018 work of grindcore perfection, HEAD CAGE. While the Alexandria, Virginia based grind lords are one of the most recognized bands of the genre, HEAD CAGE has a more “mainstream” sound that could best be described as a convergence of 80's & 90's thrash with an infusion of hard core and doom textures as well as subtle hints of industrial sampling and modern metal, packing a veritable “buffet” of jaw droppingly sick riffs into each and every song, resulting in a complete work that's so satisfying it's virtually impossible to not listen to on perpetual repeat. Hold off on consuming those “big fruity drinks” until after you've heard our brand new “health advice” segment, including an acknowledgement of “Sober October”, a breaking news update impacting the nymphomaniac community, as well as our ongoing debate regarding “which itch is worst?”. If you're a heavy drinker with aspirations of quitting, you'll know that the thought of the first day without booze is scarier than anything. This podcast series begins on the night of Vincent Hero's last alcoholic beverage and chronicles the struggles and the satisfactions of every single pain in the a** day since. Follow along and listen to a borderline autistic idiot with a shi**y attitude, be honest and re**rded, in an attempt to remain sober. --------------------------------------------------------

Check Playlist This edition of The Five Count featured an exclusive interview with voice actor Bob West. Bob is best known as the voice of “Barney” on the TV show Barney & Friends. He was also the former voice of “Jasper T. Jowls” and “Pasqually” in Chuck E. Cheese's animatronic stage show. During the show he discussed how he got into the voice-acting business, the impact the Barney character has had on people over the years, and his current career as a graphic designer for film and television. Meet Bob at a convention near you! During the rest of the show we threw a wrench in WrestleMania weekend, Ton discussed his thoughts on the new Ducati Streetfighter V4 motorcycle, and we explained how “The Five Count” got its name. We were very close to being known as The Kibosh! https://youtu.be/92Ek4U-LLM4
In Amazon news, management has been denying that workers are forced to pee in bottles, only to receive a "flood" of evidence in return. I guess that's what makes Amazon #1. Apparently Jeff Bezos insisted on a taste test and then said "Tastes just like the normal water my assistant always brings me." Check this out. Scientists studying the volcano erupting in Iceland found a fun side benefit of being near molten lava-- it's a great way to cook "hot lava dogs". It proves once again that studying volcanoes remains, in every way, a sausage fest. As a side benefit, there's always a slight chance that you'll ingest the ring of power. In Mexico, researchers have developed a nose-only COVID-19 mask designed for people to wear while eating and drinking. "How about one that only covers the mouth?" snorted Donald Trump Jr. I heard when Ted Cruz comes to visit, they give him one that covers his entire face. In Greenland, scientists used carbon dating to prove they've found the world's oldest living vertebrate, a 400-year-old shark. I'll tell you who's not happy about this discovery-- the second-most-ancient vertebrate. Apparently Stephen Spielberg was inspired by the creature and is already working on a sequel to Jaws called Jowls. Finally, according to a new report by a leading epidemiologist and environmental scientist, human penises are shrinking because of pollution. Oh, I've got some breaking news: The entire Republican party has just announced they support the Green New Deal.

The gang discusses two papers that investigate the ways that tetrapods return to the sea. It's another opportunity for Amanda talk at length about her favorite topic, CONVERGENCE. Meanwhile, James has ideas about "moral fortitude", Curt makes slightly off references to 80s films, Amanda exercises her desire to be deadly, and Mr. Jowls has some opinions that need to be heard. Up-Goer Five (Amanda Edition): Today our friends talk about animals with four feet that go back to the water. This is just a reason for our friends to talk about why some animals that are not very close like brothers look very much the same. The first paper says that since the start of the time of large animals with no hair and big teeth, there are more animals with four feet that go back to the water. Many of the animals with four feet that go back to the water look so very the same it is sometimes hard to tell that they are different if you do not look close. They talk about things that make these animals with four feet that go back to the water better for being in water, and how whole big groups of animals do not all change the same, but small groups change faster or more than others. They also talk about how and why these animals are changing. The second paper is about an animal with four feet and a long neck that goes back to the water. It has funny teeth and did not eat very small things like the largest animals living today that have no teeth, even though some things about this animal with four feet and a long neck that goes back to the water that might make you think that they ate very small things. It also has very heavy inside hard parts like big heavy water animals that get hit by people in wood things that go fast. This makes it heavy in water so it does not stay on top of the water but goes down to the bottom. This is how it ate food maybe. You've never heard of Shortcut To Happiness? Maybe you know it as Sexy Devil or maybe you're more familiar with The Devil And Daniel Webster. Whatever you call it, it is one of the worst made movies we've ever watched. Alec Baldwin made his directorial debut with this updated take on the classic short story which turns poor farmer Jabez Stone who made a deal with the devil into a struggling novelist who humps the devil and gains success. This is on par with The Room as to how poorly it is shot and edited. Are you ready for some circle wipes and slow-mo? Anthony Hopkins plays Daniel Webster, he's not a lawyer which would make sense as he defends Alec Baldwin in hell court at the end, he's a book publisher and, we think, an ancient demon hunter. We watched this movie for Darrell Hammond but we got a surprise appearance by Amy Poehler and, as always, Big Fat Dan Aykroyd. Enjoy!Download Here

Cryolipolysis - freezing fat to reduce it - is very popular. But there's really not too much in the scientific literature supporting its use. A new paper showed that it reduced neck fat only a few millimeters but there was increased visibility of those aging neck bands after the treatment. We talk about this treatment, and I answer questions about the nonsurgical and surgical treatment of jowls. Finally, I let you in on a secret - why I use Vitamins B3 and B5 in my DayThyme skin cream.

Makeup remover contains some very toxic chemicals. On tonight's show, we discussed the variety of harmful chemicals that women use every day to remove their makeup. These include chemicals that generate formaldehyde, a particularly noxious carcinogen. This is in contrast to my CleanThyme soap, which effectively removes most makeup without any toxicity. We also discussed what we do for jowls at different ages. Liposuction, Ulthera, and facelifts are all used to treat the jowls...in different aged women. Finally, our Robert Wood Johnson guest discussed colon cancer.
