Calder Allen , this 5th generation Texan and grandson of Austin folk singer Terry Allen is my guest this week. His band graced our stage at Texas Music Revolution with some tunes off his latest release Dreamers Drifters and Hiders produced by Charlie Sexton, and gained a lot of new fans. He's opening for Red Clay Strays at Billy Bobs and in San Antonio this month and will for sure slay those peeps with his unique baritone voice and picturesque lyrics. This 21 year old artist has forged his own way into a style of Texas music that covers all genres from red dirt to Americana. I had the opportunity to chat with Austin rock duo  The Caughtery.  Formed in 2020, The Caughtery is long-time Austin music veterans Lisa Tingle and David Gayler, whose contemporary rock output is influenced by musical threads running from the 60s through current.  Their 2022 debut EP "The Caughtery" presents a series of “musical paintings”, expressing the pressure and fragility of the human state over the last few years. In September of 2023, they released "The Rain Song," paying tribute to Led Zeppelin, produced and recorded by David Gayler and mixed by legendary producer Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, Tin Machine, U2, Ozzy Osbourne, HIM, The Mission), who also worked with Robert Plant on his '"Shaken n Stirred" solo album. "This is one of Led Zeppelin's most beautiful songs. A beautiful ballad legendarily created based on George Harrison's belief and comments to the band members that Led Zeppelin needed to compose more ballads. Mr. Plant and Page apparently took that to heart and created this masterpiece," says Lisa Tingle. Lisa Tingle has received multiple honors at the Austin Music Awards (Female Vocalist of the Year, Band of the Year, Best Song, Musician of the Year, Album of the Year), and has toured / performed with legends such as Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble, Eric Johnson, Stephen Bruton, Monte Montgomery and Marcia Ball. David Gayler is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and studio owner based in Spicewood, Texas. Having moved here from New York in the mid-80s, Gayler has been in various bands over the years, opening for such notable artists as The Romantics, Charlie Sexton and Jerry Jeff Walker, and was also a member of the Party Band during MTVs journey down to Texas in the late 1980s.What is the Caughtery ?"Cutting or making new sound but cauterizing it and sealing it as you go along the path."  Lisa Tingehttps://www.thecaughtery.comQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna Every Saturday on ModSnap Radio | KMOD: San Antonio 2pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)Follow me on my social media sites :Website: https://djnocturna.comYouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@DJNocturnaRadio: https://modsnapradio.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/nocturna.remixed/Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/djnocturna/Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dj.nocturna https://www.tiktok.com/@dj.nocturna

Rhythm & Revelation: Tommy Taylor's Journey from Icons to Innovations with 'Across the Stars'

For some, the process of making music can appear effortless. For others, bringing one's music to life might take decades. The music welling up in the heart and mind of its creator, like a fine wine, or in this case, one of the finest debut albums, by any artist, in any genre, in many decades. One could say that Tommy Taylor has one of those classic “you don't know me, but you've heard me” musician stories. He has spent years as the drummer and backing vocalist behind singer/songwriter (Grammy and Oscar winner) Christopher Cross and guitarist Eric Johnson. Tommy has also played behind: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Charlie Sexton, Will Sexton, Sara Hickman, Charlie and Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis, Jake Andrews, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Benson and Shawn Colvin.Tommy has been preparing himself and his music for years to become the album Across The Stars. It is a recording comprised of what Taylor calls “Chekovian vignettes” - nine cinematic stories filtered through a lifetime of insights and emotions, delivered in his tenor voice that falls somewhere between the lilt of Jackson Browne's and the edge of Don Henley. Taylor's lyrics are incredibly personal and incredibly universal simultaneously. Who hasn't felt like the people in your life were there to “Let You Down?” Taylor describes himself as an observer. However, the songs on this album are filled with the stories and experience you get by living - not by watching. At the end of the 9 songs, you are left with a man's personal catharsis, and you are the richer for having had the experience. After years of his friends and colleagues encouraging Tommy to write his songs and get them recorded, Taylor finally went in the studio and started work on the album. With a little help from Christopher Cross, legendary record producer and keyboardist Michael Omartian (Christopher Cross, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Amy Grant, Steely Dan, Glen Campbell, Boz Scaggs, Jerry Garcia and Dolly Parton) agreed to play on Tommy's album.  After finishing his work and hearing the final mixes Michael said: “Man, this is a really good album. Everything sounds great. Wonderful songs and the overall production and musicianship is first rate.” That was on top of praise for Taylor's vocals on various tracks, and his declaration that the song “Everybody's Gonna Let You Down” “sounds like a smash.” You might catch yourself singing along to that chorus the very first time you hear it.Michael Omartian's words are a priceless endorsement, especially for an artist whose debut work has taken a few decades to arrive. But in his Across The Stars liner notes, Taylor explains, “This first effort is a culmination of a lifetime of personal ups and downs, and interests and pursuits.” Isn't that a perfect description of a life well-lived? Across the Stars was released on September 22nd, 2023.https://tommytaylor.com/homeSupport the showThanks for listening for more information or to listen to other podcasts or watch YouTube videos click on this link >https://thetroutshow.com/

Salute the Songbird with Maggie Rose

Grammy-nominated Shannon McNally is a prolific, wide ranging singer-songwriter whose recent album, The Waylon Sessions, revisits the songs of Waylon Jennings. Shannon tells Maggie about putting the album together with some of Waylon's former bandmates and the many musicians who were influenced by his music. The two discuss the early days of her career, the collaborations with artists like Dr John and Charlie Sexton that have contributed to her rich musical catalog, and Shannon shares her perspective on the power of being a woman in the music industry.Over her nearly twenty year career, McNally has produced a long catalog and longer list of peers with whom she has written, recorded and toured. Her music career began on the jam band circuit of the 1990's with bands like Robert Randolph and Derek Trucks. She writes as well as she interprets the songs of others, has a top tier musicality to her craft, a soul stirring voice that immediately grabs one by the heart strings and a troubadour's wanderlust, not to mention as it turns out, and is also an excellent electric guitar player.Salute the Songbird is brought to you by Osiris Media. It is an honor and privilege to have today’s guest on My Top Five Records podcast.  Mike Flanigin is in my humble opinion the best B3 player around.  He playing consistently at CBoys with Jimmie Vaughn, at least when that Covid dude isn’t wreaking havoc on us.  Come on Covid.  Can’t you leave us alone?   So yeah, he plays with Jimmie.  He is also buds with Billy Gibbons and has performed with ZZ Top, Steve Miller, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, Willie Nelson, Charlie Sexton, Doyle 2 and Bonnie Raitt to name a few.  I actually opened up for him once at our mutual friend, Tom Amiss’, annual party   One of my favorite stories is how he used to tour as a guitarist with a LA band and returned to Austin to join the Antone’s Nightclub house band.  That’s when he decided to change instruments and start playing the B3.  He hooked up with organ legend Big John Patton to learn the craft.  And guess what, Big John has a record in Mike’s top five.   In 2015 he released his debut record called The Drifter.  Rolling Stone said, “The Drifter is a road trip-worthy record that veers from punk rock to desert pop to Bible Belt Blues, it’s disparate parts glued together with the swirl and swoon of B3 organ.  This is day-driving mood music, with Flanigin creating his own version of atmospheric Americana.”    And just this year, he dropped a brand new record called West Texas Blues and born out of his and Sue Foley’s Texas Blues Party that they streamed live on Facebook.  They went into the studio as a three piece.  Just Sue, Mike and Chris “Whipper” Layton of Double Trouble.    I quote Flanigin saying about the record, “As much as I labored over The Drifter album, which took me three years to make, and I had a lot of different types of genres, and people, and guests, this was the exact opposite.” Flanigin said. “This was ‘Let’s go in and let’s do what we do,’ and we play the blues. That’s what we’ve been doing our whole lives.”   I was driving back from Houston yesterday and thought I would put it on.  Well I did and I could not turn it off for the entire ride home.  If you like the blues, you’ve got to check it out.  An All Star cast of blues legends kicking out an homage to some Texas Blues music.   So PLEASE people go out there and support music.  Support the artists that make you groove.  Allow those who create to keep creating.  Get out there or go online and buy Mike Flanigin’s new record.  While you’re at it, I’d recommend you pick up The Drifter as well.   We talked about how he knew Lazy Lester and how Texas music is for dancers.  We talked about how Billy Gibbons plays on 7 strings and how that shows in his touch AND how he knows professional card tricks.  It was like a history lesson.    We had a slight technical difficulty and about 10 mintues got cut from our conversation.  It was primarily about Billy Gibbons.  We talked about Dusty has motorboat fingers and that is what makes ZZ Top ultimately unique.  He also talks about how he likes to record live in the studio and how he started singing again because Jimmie Vaughn pretty much made him when they were on tour.    What also got cut was where you can find him online.  You spell Mike’s last name F L A N I G I N.  As he says, with two N’s and two I’s   http://www.mikeflanigin.com/ https://www.facebook.com/mikeflaniginofficial/ https://www.instagram.com/mikeflanigin/   If you’ve got the gumption, head over to THE BIG GUN SHOW DOT COM and check out what my band is up to these days.  You can also catch us on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube with a handle of thebiggunshowband.  Go to our website and sign up for our email newsletter so that you can get updates about our coming record called Honky Rock.   www.thebiggunshow.com www.facebook.com/thebiggunshowband www.instagram.com/thebiggunshowband www.youtube.com/thebiggunshowband

Episode 160 - Garrett Owen. Dan Sterenchuk and Tommy Estlund are honored to have as our guest, Garrett Owen Instead of Little League and sleepovers, Texas-born Garrett Owen's earliest memories involve frequent trips across the Serengeti and backyard wildlife most of us only experience at our local zoos. The son of church-building missionaries, he grew up in Tanzania and Kenya, riding on the luggage rack of the family's Nissan Patrol, with vast clear skies above him and gazelles running beside. After leaving Africa, the family completed a stint in Ecuador before Owen's parents moved the family back to Texas. Life as he knew it became a difficult endeavor; rimmed with the sharp edges of reality in an unfamiliar place, his attempts to settle into a culture he didn't understand resulted in distress and a suicide attempt - a far cry from the idyllic landscape of his upbringing. “Getting to the point where songs could even come out of me at all again took some time,” he remembers. However, Owen's decision to step up to the mic at a songwriters' night in Fort Worth changed his trajectory and reminded him that the goal of pursuing music was no longer at home on the backburner. Now, the award-winning artist, who calls to mind legends like Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, Elliot Smith, and Jesse Winchester, is gearing up to release his second full-length album, Quiet Lives, on September 18th. Though he revisits familiar subject matter such as the push-pull of relationships, love, and loss, Quiet Lives is about growth, informed by the perspective gained from life experience. The diverse 10-track collection delves into more experimental musical territory, as Owen toyed with complex chord changes, melodic dissonance, and intriguing storylines. “At its core, all art is based on a ‘true story,' and by true, I mean the version we carry in our head and heart - the one that can lift or crush your spirit with equal capacity,” the golden-voiced troubadour, who has shared stages with artists like Parker Millsap, Charlie Sexton, and Marty Stuart, explains. “Some suggest that your upbringing explains quirks of personality like my shyness, a tendency for introspection, and streaks of perfectionism. Maybe. I'm not so fatalistic as to believe our earliest experiences necessarily determine the arc of adult life, but my slightly foreign childhood never leaves my music or me. Everybody's got a story to tell,” he adds. “I'm no different.” http://garrett-owen.com/ https://www.facebook.com/GarrettOwenTX http://instagram.com/garrettowentx https://twitter.com/garrettowenTX https://open.spotify.com/artist/7y2CyDlhMd1el8HDgyYuTD Note: Guests create their own bio description for each episode. Its a brand new Season, welcome to Season 3 of The Story of Rock and Roll Radio Show.  It marks the brand new chapter where I left the radio station and together with 3 other presenters from Mix FM started our very own Rebel Rock Radio.  Its a steaming site and TSORR is now excluse to Rebel Rock Radio every Thursday from 7 pm until 10 pm.  There are obvious advantages here, firstly you get an extra hour, secondly I am part of a really good team, thirdly I have pretty much no restrictions on what I say or play.  My commitment is to bring you the best music in the world and to fly the rock and metal flag until the day I die.The show starts in the middle of Judas Priest with Saints in Hell, there is no Dr Who intro and the opening track Swamp Devil by Circus of Power didn't make the recording.  It's done from home with a brand new set-up including new headphones and mic.  The mic is still not right but its close now, bear with me, you are here for the music anyway I am sure.  Don't adjust your set when there are one or two minor silences while I adjust to the new desk.  I can't control the end of the show, if I finish early its silence if I run over it cuts me at 10 sharp.  Apologies to The Rolling Stones who were the first victims of that.  There was a lot of good stuff on the show Black Sabbath back to back with Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen back to back with Chickenfoot, lots of that sort of thing.  We had Seether and Mott the Hoople, some Death Angel and some Ugly Kid Joe.  Anyway check it out, it marks the beginning of an exciting time.  System of a Down with Violent Pornograpy was another good one to hear.  Artists featured:  Mott The Hoople, Seether, Death Angel, Judas Priest, Hell Yeah, Ozzy Osbourne, Sheryl Crow, Charlie Sexton, Skid Row, Desolation Angel, Leslie West, Dirty Honey, The Stranglers, Guns 'n' Roses, Black Sabbath, Pirates of Radio, Foo Fighters, Red Dragon Cartel, Fokofpolisiekar, The Offspring, The Wildhearts, Van Halen, Palaye Royale, Cold Chisel, Stiff Little Fingers, Dirty Shirley, The Defiants, Government Car, Deadline, Chickenfoot, Damn Yankees, Anti-Flag, System of a Down, Seether, Desolation Angels, The Gaslight Anthem, Ugly Kid Joe, The Rolling Stones

This episode is a look at four bands that had a big hit and then tried to capitalize on it with something called a "momentum hit" in the 80s. Or at least most had the followup hit. What's that even mean? Here's how we define it: Sometimes a band would have a hit single, getting significant radio play on rock or top 40 stations, and then follow it up with a song was usually not as good, but was still a hit, because the fans of that big hit single wanted more of that same sound.  Superstars have benefitted from this practice too, but it's the new bands that are most interesting. Episode 4 of Rock Pop and Roll discusses whether a big hit for a new band means a second hit.  We have four artists that we’ll hear and see some different outcomes. It's not science, but it is kinda cool. We call the game "A Hit Plus One".  Hear whether the hit songs from David + David, Michael Stanley Band, Randy Meisner, and Charlie Sexton produced a good followup hit.  Or not.  --- Subscribe to RockPopandRoll on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to episode 2 of Soft Pass! This month we talk to Sandy Ficca, the longtime drummer for Firefall, and Michael Ramos, who has played with such greats as; John Mellencamp, Patty Griffin, Paul Simon, Kris Kristofferson, BoDeans, Charlie Sexton, Robert Plant, David Grissom, The Rembrandts, Violent Femmes, Los Lonely Boys, Ani DiFranco and many more. We talk about life on the road, and what we’ve found on VHS tapes left on the bus. Michael talks about his time working with Robert Plant, and Sandy tells us about the time he played with Jaco and some stories surrounding him. Michael relates a classic story about something John Mellencamp made him do on tour, as well as his time recording at Paisley Park. Sandy counters with his Ginger Baker experience and talks about Slim Jim Phantom and Skunk Baxter at a classic rock fest in Mexico. Sit back and hear some great stories from a couple of road scholars this month on Soft Pass!

Bassist Arthur Barrow had a dream and it came true. That dream was to one day play with Frank Zappa and in the late 70s that's exactly what happened. What might be more interesting is where he went from there. Imagine going from Zappa to Giorgio Moroder! Arthur began a long and fruitful partnership with Giorgio (and his stable of producers including Keith Forsey and Richie Zito) that took up much of the 80s. This put Arthur in position to work closely with artists like Donna Summer, Berlin, Billy Idol, Charlie Sexton, Joe Cocker and former guests Martha Davis, EG Daily, Joe Esposito, and Paul Engemann. Arthur is very transparent about the ups and downs of his career. In fact, he told his story in his memoir "Of Course I Said Yes!: The Amazing Adventures of a Life in Music". He tells us all of it and more. Enjoy!  www.arthurbarrow.com

I think you guys will really dig this episode. DDR

Rick Kelly has been hand crafting guitars for over 50 years in his hometown of New York for artists including Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Charlie Sexton, Kirk Douglas and Bill Frisell to name a few. Rick's work - which includes the use of reclaimed timbers from historic NY locations - is the subject of a beautifully made feature film, Carmine Street Guitars, directed by Ron Mann. The film includes a star studded line-up of guitarists, but is as much a tale of Rick and his apprentice Cindy Hulej's time honoured craft in an increasingly gentrified neighbourhood.   Show Links 'Carmine Street Guitars' Film Trailer Kelly Guitars Cindy Guitars   Guitar Speak Podcast Links  Visit us at guitarspeakpodcast.com Subscribe and find previous episodes at: Apple Podcasts Spotify Stitcher   Follow us on Facebook & Instagram  Join our Guitar Speak Forum Buy a T-Shirt! Our guest this week, Scott Wilk, was the lead singer of Bone Symphony and before that he fronted his own New Wave rock group called Scott Wilk + the Walls, where his sound drew regular comparisons to Elvis Costello.   What is it about Texas and it's reputation for gunslingin' killer guitar players? You know the old cliche' "something in the water?", well, this certainly applies to the Lone Star State...think of the guitarists that have emerged from here- Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Billy Gibbons, David Holt, Charlie Sexton, and newer cats like Carter Arrington- etc..but way up at the top of that list is my guest today- Mr. David Grissom. A veteran of the John Mellencamp band, Joe Ely, Storyville and the Dixie Chicks, he's also appeared on many records as a session player and songwriter. I've known David for a long time as you'll hear- we toured together for a few months in the late 90's with BB King when I was in the Neville Brothers and he was in Storyville. In this interview we talk early days in Austin, string bending, influences, gear, Mellencamp, Lloyd Maines and steel guitar as an influence, Norman Blake, Ringo Starr, solo records etc...and much more. Couple of great little jams in here too! On a nice day in Austin I got in an Uber from the hotel and headed over to David's studio where we did this interview. Hope you enjoy!   Recorded Austin, TX Sept 2017Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-riff-raff-with-shane-theriot/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

140: John Hiatt: "Feels Like Rain" and "Drive South"

This week on StoryWeb: John Hiatt’s songs “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South.” For Jim, in celebration of our years together Later this week, Jim and I will celebrate twelve years together, ten years married. American singer-songwriter John Hiatt was a part of our early courtship, and two of his songs became our particular favorites – “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South.” Both appear on Hiatt’s 1988 album, Slow Turning. A true American troubadour, Hiatt has recorded more than 20 albums, beginning with Hangin’ Around the Observatory in 1974 and most recently with Terms of My Surrender in 2014. He’s known for great songs like “Have a Little Faith in Me,” “Perfectly Good Guitar,” and “Thing Called Love” (which became a hit for Bonnie Raitt). His songs have been covered by a wide range of outstanding musicians, from Aaron Neville, B.B. King, and Bob Dylan to Iggy Pop, Linda Ronstadt, and Rosanne Cash. “Feels Like Rain” was the title track of a 1993 album by Buddy Guy, and Suzy Bogguss recorded “Drive South” in 1992, hitting number two on the country charts. Of Hiatt’s many albums, Slow Turning stands out for its rich collection of compelling songs. It’s just one of those albums you have to have – and if you don’t know John Hiatt’s music, it’s a great place to start. You’ll find yourself listening to the album again and again, discovering new gems each time. In addition to “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South,” it includes such tunes as “Tennessee Plates” (which was recorded by Charlie Sexton for the soundtrack to Thelma and Louise) and “Icy Blue Heart” (which Emmylou Harris recorded for her 1989 album, Bluebird). Back to our two favorite songs. “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South” are perfect falling-in-love songs. “Feels Like Rain” compares new love to the power of a hurricane. It was featured on the HBO series, Treme, set in post-Katrina New Orleans. In one episode, two characters talk together about what makes Hiatt’s song so powerful. In fact, one of those characters, Harley, is played by none other than Steve Earle, an American troubadour in his own right. “Drive South” is all about the open road, new opportunity, and the sweetness of middle-aged love. As blogger Holly A. Hughes says, “One of the things I love about ‘Drive South’ is that it’s a car song and a love song, where the crazy joy of hitting the road is perfectly mingled with the crazy joy of being in love.” And NPR tags “Drive South” as one of its recommended “Songs for Stops Along the Way.” If you get a chance to catch John Hiatt live, run, don’t walk, to the concert. My dear friend Karin and I had the opportunity to see him at an intimate concert for 250 people. Despite the persistent heckler who harassed Hiatt throughout much of the show, Hiatt gave an outstanding performance. Near the end of the show, he sang “Feels Like Rain,” then slid right into “Drive South.” I was in heaven! Frequently these days, John Hiatt performs with his long-time friend Lyle Lovett. Sitting together on stage, they take turns performing their songs. Their dual performance is part of a long tradition rooted in Nashville, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas, two great music towns. The “song circle” or “guitar pull,” says San Diego Troubadour, creates a sacred circle of song. JamBase said of one of their shows, “The two are so comfortable with themselves that they make you feel like you are sitting in the living room with them, getting to know them better through their songs.” The New York Times offers a great review of a Hiatt-Lovett concert as well. Whether you’re listening to Slow Turning on your stereo or enjoying a live performance by John Hiatt (and maybe his pal Lyle Lovett), you’re in for a real treat. Rolling Stone offers a 30-year retrospective of Slow Turning, with a particular focus on “Drive South” – worth checking out if you want to learn more. And if you want to try your hand at singing and playing Hiatt’s songs yourself, check out the lyrics and chords for “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South” (both available, with numerous other Hiatt songs, at the John Hiatt Archives). You can learn more about John Hiatt – who hails from Indianapolis, Indiana – in three interviews, one with Jay Hipps in 1994, one with Mark Coenen in 1995, and one with Rolling Stone in 1995. I’m so glad I “drove north” twelve years ago, rocking out to John Hiatt on my Honda Civic tape player as I headed up the east coast to meet Jim at his family’s Long Island beach house. Better believe it, baby! Visit thestoryweb.com/hiatt for links to all these resources and to watch John Hiatt perform “Feels Like Rain” and “Drive South.”

Andy King doesn t like to describe his job as "hacking up children." As an orthopedic surgeon and the pardon the pun head of the spine unit at Children s Hospital in New Orleans, Andy is good naturedly circumspect about how he describes using mechanical instruments on kids backs. As a New Zealander, he s a lot less sensitive to his description of Australians. Bridget Kelly is a 7th generation New Orleanian whose son, August, is an 8th generation New Orleanian, and whose husband Aaron not Erin was faking buying a baguette at the Cresecnt City Farmers Market when Bridget met him for the first time after seeing him across a restaurant the night before while discussing Mork n Mindy s offsrpring and declaring she was going to marry him. Even in a small town of bizarre goings on and on a cocktail drinking show that is, frankly, a gathering ground for crazy stories this romantic tale stands out. So much so that Andrew Duhon is contemplating a cross cultural yoga centric reconnaissance of the Uptown Farmers Market on Tuesdays. If you re there on a Tuesday Andrew is the guy with the sitar waiting for the yoga teacher with the New Zealand passport. If you re taking bets on which New Orleans band whose new record is produced by Bob Dylan s guitar player Charlie Sexton is most likely to bust out of the city and make a nationwide name for themselves, put your money on The Cardinal Sons. God fearing honest to god brothers from Jackson, Mississippi, John, Joe, and Dave Shirley s older brother, Daniel, who is not in the band, started out running around the house flapping his hands and singing before realizing he could corral his brothers into learning instruments to back him which could dispense with the incessant circumlocution of the dwelling and hand flapping. Daniel lives in New York and is is an opera singer but if you want to place another bet, put it on him showing up here some day to set the record straight. Although nobody at Happy Hour has done any research shocker to back this up, we re going to go out on a limb and claim this is almost certainly the only New Orleans podcast that contains cursing, a hymn, a serious and definitive explanation of why New Orleans has potholes, and a hypothesis of how Jesus was born in the year 1 A.D.
