The multifamily business has been brutal for most operators over the past few years, especially for ones who took on bridge debt. There's been too much new supply, and skyrocketing interest rates caught most operators off guard. For low-income workforce housing, the tenant base has gotten crushed by inflation which has resulted in higher delinquencies and higher vacancies. At the same time, however, there has been almost no new construction over the past couple years and excess inventory will be absorbed. There will be great opportunities to buy properties over the next 12-24 months. Charlie Young, Partner at Madera Residential with 12,000 units, has experienced major challenges since 2023, but is gearing up to make major acquisitions over the next couple years.

Originally published in 1961, Houdini's Fabulous Magic was written by Walter B. Gibson and Morris Young, both of which knew and worked with the said most famous magician of all time. The two authors were able to write the revolutionary book because they not only had had access to Houdini himself but his personal notes and the assistance of friends and family of the performer. The book fell out of print for many years but has finally been reprinted by Vine Leaves Press. Actor Dulé Hill is best known for playing Detective "Gus" Guster on the USA series Psych and Charlie Young, personal aid to President Jed Bartlett, on NBC's The West Wing. In this episode, Dulé speaks about growing up in Sayreville, NJ, as the son of Jamaican immigrants, and how exposure to ballet and tap by age 3 set Dulé on a path to starring on Broadway in The Tap Dance Kid at age 10 and the Tony Award-winning Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk while a college student at Seton Hall. Following a successful Broadway run, Dulé moved to Los Angeles to pursue screen acting, but initially struggled to find consistent work and was subsequently dropped by his talent agency.
