Hello to you listening in Omaha, Nebraska!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds - and a bit more - for Story Prompt Friday on Christmas Eve.On Christmas Eve in 1513 Fra Giovanni Giocondo wrote this letter to his friend the Countess Allagia Aldobrandeschi. It was a favorite of my mother's.Letter Written by Fra Giovanni"I am your friend and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not got, but there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take.No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take heaven! No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present little instant. Take peace! The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach is joy. There is radiance and glory in the darkness could we but see - and to see we have only to look. I beseech you to look and take joy!Life is so generous a giver, but we, judging its gifts by the covering, cast them away as ugly, or heavy or hard. Remove the covering and you will find beneath it a living splendor, woven of love, by wisdom, with power.Welcome it, grasp it, touch the angel's hand that brings it to you. Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty, believe me, that angel's hand is there, the gift is there, and the wonder of an overshadowing presence. Our joys, too, be not content with them as joys. They, too, conceal diviner gifts.Life is so full of meaning and purpose, so full of beauty - beneath its covering - that you will find earth but cloaks your heaven.Courage, then, to claim it, that is all. But courage you have, and the knowledge that we are all pilgrims together, wending through unknown country, home. And so, at this time, I greet you. Not quite as the world sends greetings, but with profound esteem and with the prayer that for you now and forever, the day breaks, and the shadows flee away."Story Prompt: Who will you greet with joy, esteem and prayers as the day breaks? Write that story!Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story.NOTE: Born in Venice, Giocondo would become an Italian Franciscan friar, Renaissance pioneer, and more. In 1496 Giocondo was invited to France by the King and made Royal Architect. If you've ever been to Paris and walked across the beautiful bridges Pont Notre-Dame or the Petit Pont - both of these were designed by Giocondo.60 Seconds is your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that. This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic. Welcome to Unstrictly Business, a podcast all about work-life balance, combating burnout, and cultivating success inside and outside the office. We do this by sharing behind-the-scenes interviews with successful business owners as well as other resources for busy business people. I'm your host, Calli! I'm the Founder of “Do Well Dept,” an inclusive online community that helps passionate work-from-home entrepreneurs & remote businesses achieve overall wellbeing for themselves, their employees, and their business. In today's episode, Calli will take you through the power of pausing! In our business world, we're often taught to put our work above ourselves and to work, work, work, until we can't any longer. (Anyone listened to 9-5 by Dolly Parton recently?). Well, taking breaks throughout the day can actually help you work better and get more done by working less. In this episode you'll learn why breaks are important, how to work them into your day, how to actually take productive breaks, and how to actually make a habit of taking daily breaks. Calli has been studying productivity and motivation for years ever since she struggled with productivity as a business owner and was surprised to learn she could actually get more work done by working less if she just worked right. You'll learn all about the pomodoro method, something called the Ultradian rhythm, and some of the most productive ways to take a break during your work day like meditation, breathwork and just a good, old nap. Thanks for listening to this week's episode of Unstrictly Business! If you want to learn more about how you can create a successful business of your own. Visit our website dowelldept.com. The Tigers are beginning to emerge as a serious threat for the premiership again. They don't have to travel to Perth, they have a nine-day break before they play the in-form Cats and they play the worst side in the comp in the final round of the season therefore everything is set up for them to hit September full of run with Bachar Houli, Shane Edwards and Dion Prestia to rejoin their best 22. Full 7 Day Breaks, 2 Games in Adelaide, a bye in future weeks and Prime Time Games have been given for Port Adelaide in a dream fixture for their run into finals but will their woes up forward with an inaccurate big man and a struggling backline that had no answers for the games in form forward be the difference come finals time. Meanwhile the struggling Essendon will face three flag contenders in 11 days & Melbourne Round 18 and the high flying WEST COAST EAGLES will play 5 games in 18 days and will have to return to their hapless hub in Queensland, With the Eagles destined to play finals and Essendon at the crossroads, will these hard matches change the trajectory of these two sides? The Footy Carnival is officially over...for now. We have 20 big days worth of footy to cover on this weeks episode which includes Rounds 10, 11 and 12 in a bumper edition of 'In The Ball Park'. We discuss the Winners & Losers of the final leg of fixture including the Tigers who don't have to travel to Perth and they play the worst side in the comp in the final round of the season and we look at Port Adelaide who have full 7 Day Breaks and Prime Time Slots meanwhile we dissect the struggle Bombers who will face three flag contenders in 11 days whereas the high flying Eagles will play 5 games in 18 days and will have to return to their hapless hub in Queensland, the question remains: will the fixture negatively affect these clubs finals chances? This week on 'My Footy Memory' Michael recounts the time he played on a frozen oval where he lined up against a large ragged, rocky and wooly sheep, in a contest that was a war of attrition to survive against his aggressive animal opponent. On this week's edition of 'Bring It Back, Give It The Sack, Have A Crack' we highlight the triumphant returns to footy for players who have missed several seasons due to debilitating injuries that threatened to end their careers including the 'mulleted' journeyman Lynden Dunn who proved his 'not Dunn yet'. The boys want to 'Give Staging The Sack' after Callan Ward and Tom Papley's Oscar Nominations for best actor in a game changing situation. If the great Irish innovator of the modern game, Conor McKenna can kick a miraculous Rabona kick in the pregame should he 'Have A Crack' at kicking it in a live game situation? And the gentlemen will preview Round 13 which is Sir Doug Nicholls Round where the footy public celebrates the great indigenous players who have ever put on a footy jumper and have captivated us with their extraordinary skills and leadership in the community. Get excited for this week's episode of 'In The Ball Park' that will make you interested in lamb shanks, Japanese automatically flushing toilets and big Austrian giants - you need to hear it to believe it! Meanwhile full 7 Day Breaks, 2 Games in Adelaide, a bye in future weeks and Prime Time Games have been given for Port Adelaide in a dream fixture for their run into finals but will their woes up forward with an inaccurate big man and a struggling backline that had no answers for the games in form forward be the difference come finals time. We discuss if Port Adelaide's fixture will challenge their weaknesses See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to The Other Side Of Perfect and Episode 1 of Season 2, I've been really excited to get stuck into this series. The guests that I have coming up have the most wonderful careers and truly captivating stories, and after each interview I walk away feeling utterly inspired so I know there's massive benefit in what they have to say. Similar to last season I wanted to kick things off with a solo show. It's been massively requested and I've no idea why, but my most listened episode was the one I did on my own covering my life story, career and how I got to where I am now. I figured it would be a lovely way to format things going forward and also reconnect with you the listeners. I would like to also take this opportunity to thank you lot for making the show land in the Top 10 Best Listens of 2019 in its new category on Apple Podcasts. Receiving that email from Apple was a lovely little moment, and this whole passion project has grown into something that I'm really excited to expand on in 2020. We also have some amazing new sponsors on board, and I want to let you know that I choose my sponsors as carefully as I choose my brand partnerships on social media, so these will always be relevant to my listenership and benefit you in some way. On today's show I discuss the real life stress you don't see on social media; my recent melt down, feeling overwhelmed and dealing with comparison. I wanted to sit down and have a chat about two of the most common topics that I'm regularly asked about through social media. I run through a variety of your anonymous questions about body image and break ups. Getting to a state of body neutrality; learning to love the body you have today, realising you have the power to change it if you're truly unhappy, weight fluctuations, period bloat, getting back on the bandwagon and my motivational tips. I also discuss healing a broken heart, trying not to focus on the status of your friends, improving your self esteem after a toxic relationship, and being single.Visit https://theothersideofperfect.com/Sponsor https://www.rainforest.ie/Today's show is brought to you by Rainforest Spa. Rainforest is a gorgeous Day Spa and Yoga Studio in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow who you can check out on Instagram @rainforestspa. Rainforest is giving my listeners an exclusive 10% off Day Breaks, valid until June 2020 if you use the code JOANNE10 when booking.

It's so easy to get knee deep in a project, whether it's home or work, especially when the juices are flowing and you just really kind of get in the zone, something that you often have to work really hard to get into without distractions. But, there's also a difference with getting knee deep into something while you're in the zone versus staying down in the trenches indefinitely. When you are constantly hitting the pavement—you don't come up for air, you're just constantly pushing yourself, you're not taking breaks, or not taking care of yourself—you might feel like you're super productive, but if you look back, you've just accomplished a lot of little things versus actually moving the needle. We often equate busyness with success or busyness with productivity. When in reality, you can actually spend a lot less time doing something that's insanely productive, something that adds to or gets you closer to the goals that you've set, simply by giving yourself time to actually do the things. For instance, I most certainly have gotten stuck in the black hole of answering emails. A little red dot pop pops up or the ting comes on and I'm like a Labrador retriever and I'm like, "Ooh, what's this?" And before you know it, you're answering a bunch of emails and three hours have gone by and you've literally done nothing other than answering what everyone else needs.(See Transcript Tab For More)- - -For more inspiration, follow along with us at:thegutsypodcast.comfacebook.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thatlauraaura

In the third in a short series of very special episodes of Spoiler, Andy pushes on with his mission to convince the world that animation is an under appreciated, magical medium by interviewing some of his favourite animators. In this episode Andy talks to Canadian animation team Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis, creators of the Oscar-nominated shorts ‘When the Day Breaks’ and ‘Wild Life’. Wendy and Amanda offer insights into their unique animation techniques, their fondness for the collaborative process and the delicate balance in finding the perfect tone for your film. Wendy gives a fascinating account of producing a paint-on-glass animation while Amanda extols the virtue of animating as a joyous escape. As huge animation fans themselves, Wendy and Amanda also share their experiences of hosting the annual Bleak Midwinter animation festival in their hometown of Calgary and extend a warm-hearted invitation to Andy to drop by if he ever makes it over to Canada. You can find out more about Wendy, Amanda and their work at their website Tilbyforbis.com. You can also check out Andy’s list of 1001 Animated Shorts You Must See at andystoons.wordpress.com.
