Do you love your grandfather? Well… Tariq doesn't. Tariq starts off by talking about having nearly 100 first cousins and how big families lead to having to deal with all kinds of problematic people. Listen in as Tariq explains, in detail, why he has a strong dislike for his grandfather and has no respect for him as a man. You might be wondering how that introduction is related to this week's match. Tariq explains that too! Regarding the match, Tariq and Jim give their thoughts on the ramp at Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens, both George Steele and Kamala and how sometimes a little bit can go a long way. This match had a total of 4 moves and it kept the fans in Toronto on the edge of their seats. Listen to Jim and Tariq explain why this match was able to do so. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sixmantagpodcast/support

On Sunday afternoon a voice that the public never really heard until later in his life was silenced. For years, Mississippi born James Harris played what would today be regarded as a stereotype, an African cannibalistic savage who, while he intimidated his opponents and the fans, didn't always seem to understand the rules of the sport he was competing in. While James was a soft spoken, gentle man who loved to laugh and sing, his alter ego, Kamala The Ugandan Savage, was an evil, silent brute who would demolish anyone who got in his way. We'll begin this evening by remembering James, including commentary from Jerry Lawler about the creation of the character and George "The Animal" Steele talking about getting Kamala heat. WWE Network has added several new promotions to their video vault that will begin airing this weekend. NXT saw the return of someone many people thought might not be coming back due to rumors surrounding him. Meanwhile, AEW saw a big star on the independent scene debut along with a former WWE talent, but not someone you might have expected. While New Japan Pro Wrestling has been making its slow climb back form COVID-19, a quirky little company has developed a cult following and is starting to draw some attention oustide of Japan. Steve recently saw a live video from the group and he will tell us about it. Speaking of New Japan, their US based show is bringing some top talent of their own, including someone many people thought had given up the business. MLW just signed a new distribution deal, Lana posted personal details about her and Miro on Instatgram and apparently confirming a story about WrestleMania in San Diego. We'll discuss these and many other stories, including our alternate plans for those AEW weeks tonight.

In this episode, the guys finish part two of their predictions of Summerslam 2018, quickly make predictions for the upcoming All In wrestling event and talk a little too much about the late and great George "The Animal" Steele.
When there's a pro wrestling story in the news, I often end up reminiscing with friends on Facebook or Twitter about my days as a ring announcer. Yup, long before I was the guy introducing Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan, I was introducing Triple H, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Jimmy "Superly" Snuka, Matt and Jeff Hardy and George "The Animal" Steele. In this edition of The Other 59 Minutes, I take you through my (almost) career in pro wrestling. - Who was the wrestler I always wanted to meet as a ring announcer, but never did. Then years later, I got to meet him when he came by my radio station. - Why I was doomed as an announcer. - The story of my mother and I driving through the backwoods of New Jersey looking for a place without an address. - My high school buddy who became a WWE superstar. - The podcast that reignited my interest in wrestling (at least the old school stuff).

Featuring Greg Valentine, Tito Santana, Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff, Abdullah The Butcher, Wendi Richter, Bill Eadie, Nikolai Volkoff, Stan Hansen, Angelo Mosca, Lex Luger, and more, the event also includes some of the last interviews ever done with George “The Animal” Steele, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Ox Baker, The Wolfman, Don Fargo, and 99-year-old Angelo Savoldi. This one-night event will also feature an exclusive introduction and interview with JJ Dillon (manager of The Four Horsemen) to discuss the impact of the film and the current state of professional wrestling.

Unfortunately the sad news does not end there, as Naomi had to relinquish her Smackdown’s Women’s Title. On the positive side, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins should be cleared to return soon. Perhaps best of all, Lucha Underground is coming to Netflix! With the help of a temporal device, Boman and YC jump back and forth through time to recap the last two weeks of wrestling. The hellscape that is RAW is even bleaker after Kevin Owens destroyed Friendship. The Slambros, like everyone else, are living in a “post-friendship” world. Kevin Owens turned on and beat down his best friend and “Brother” Chris Jericho and the latter has not been seen since. Sami Zayn needs to learn a thing or two about respect and figure out how much he should put on Samoa Joe’s name. Other acts like Roman Reigns and The New Day are stuck in waiting-for-WrestleMania-holding patterns, while Braun Strowman continues to impress. On Smackdown Live, futures are looking brighter for an excommunicated bearded cultist heading into Mania; however the blue brand might want to invest into instant replay. The seeds of a mix tag match for Mania and being planted and it clear only half of the parties are invested. Still surprising us, Randy Orton’s slow build to Mania is staying fresh each week, an unusual occurrence for modern WWE storytelling. There’s much more, so stay tuned to Slambros! 1:40: Diggin’ in The Dirt 11:51 ¡Las Aventuras de Alberto El Patrón y sus Amigos! 15:25 RAW and Smackdown Live Recaps 56:32 Respect to the Taphouse Usos and Outro

Its a Pipebomb Radio Christmas and what a better way to celebrate the holidays than by having on a WWE Hall of Famer... the legendary, George "The Animal" Steele! WWE has been home to some of the wildest and most unpredictable Superstars in sports-entertainment history. However, with his trademark green tongue, hairy torso and penchant for eating turnbuckles, George "The Animal" Steele might be the most unorthodox man to step foot in a WWE ring. However, while he was always seen as a savage during his WWE tenure, Steele is actually a very well-educated man. Prior to breaking into sports-entertainment, Steele received his Masters Degree from Central Michigan University and became a high school teacher and wrestling coach in the Detroit area. It was during his teaching stint that he began moonlighting in sports-entertainment, working in the Detroit-area promotions en route to the global phenomenon that is WWE where he would eventually make his legend known. We will speak to George about all that and so much more when he joins us on the final guest featured show of 2014!
Jim shares insight on his acting career in the movie Ed Wood. Jim also is called Monkey-Man in a park. Did the person who called him this live?
Jim Myers is well known by his WWF ring name George "The Animal" Steele who wrestled professionally with legends such as Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, Rowdy Piper, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Rick Steamboat and the Iron Sheik. But what most people did not know is Jim had an entirely different and separate life. During his entire professional wrestling career, Jim was also a teacher, coach, husband and father. Jim’s career lasted from 1967 until 1988, though he made occasional wrestling appearances into the 1990s and 2000s. Jim was also an actor and portrayed Swedish wrestler/actor Tor Johnson in Ed Wood, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. Jim was raised in Madison Heights, Michigan. During high school, he found success in track running, baseball, basketball and football. In 1956, Myers entered Michigan State University as a football player for the Michigan State Spartans, but his career as a football player was immediately cut short as a result of knee problems. After gaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree from Central Michigan University, Myers became a teacher, amateur wrestling coach, and football coach at Madison High School in Madison Heights, Michigan. Looking to supplement his income, he got into the world of Detroit-area professional wrestling, but in order to protect his privacy, he wrestled using a mask and the name “The Student”. Jims has dyslexia and was also diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 1988, an inflammatory bowel disease that currently has no cure but can be brought into remission. In 1998, doctors told Myers that his Crohn's Disease had gone into remission and that he no longer suffered from any of the disease's symptoms. In 2002, to prevent the symptoms from returning, Myers had his colon removed. Jim is a religious man. He attends the First Baptist Church Merritt Island, and currently lives in Cocoa Beach, Florida with his wife Pat, whom he married before he entered Michigan State in 1956. Together, Pat and Jim have two sons, Dennis and Randy, and a daughter, Felicia. Jim is in the Michigan Coaches and Michigan Football Coaches Halls of Fame as well as being inducted into The WWE Hall of Fame and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Listen in as Jim talks about his troubles at a young age and how "George The Animal Steele" saved his life.

We begin by asking whether clairvoyant people ever mistake their memories of the future for memories of the past. We're so meta! Then in Foody Goody, Warren announces that we've all been eating bananas from the wrong end. Turns out, you're supposed to eat the bottom first, although now that I think of it, if you're one of the few who already knows this, then you'll probably start eating from the wrong end as a result of our advice. Anyway, it turns out there are lots of pros and cons for banana reversing, so you'll have supporters either way. If you're passionate about banana eating methods, or if you're a monkey and care to enlighten us about your technique (for eating bananas, flinging poo, or masturbating), please email us (maskedman@limitedappeal.net).
