Pour le 1er FRENCHWEB VC de l'année, nous recevons JD Nitlech Managing Partner de l'un des fonds d'investissement historique de la tech française. Née en 1986 au sein de la Caisse des Dépots, sous le nom de Part'com Capital, le fonds d'investissement a vécu une seconde vie avec Antoine Garrigues et Pierre de Fouquet qui le rebaptisent IRIS Capital en 2003 à l'issue de l'explosion de la bulle internet. Un peu plus de 10 ans plus tard, Orange et Publicis investissaient 150 millions pour accompagner une nouvelle génération de startups, Iadvize, Lumapps, Scality, Yubo. 2023 ouvre une nouvelle décennie pour IRIS, qui démarre avec un véhicule d'investissement de 150 millions d'euros abondé par ses partenaires historiques que sont Orange, Publicis et la BPI ainsi que des entrepreneurs comme le fondateur de Netatmo Fred Potter ou d'Adot, Yannis Yahiaoui. Iris Ventures est destiné à financer des sociétés tech en amorçage et serie A, sur le marché européen.

Artiste, entrepreneure, mais surtout engagée, Diariata N'Diaye, fondatrice de l'association Résonantes et de l'application App-Elles se confie sur son parcours dans ce nouvel épisode de 40 nuances de Sista. Choisie comme "Sista" par Julien Hervouet, fondateur d'iAdvize, elle partage avec nous ses combats, ses succès et les marches qui lui restent à gravir pour son association et l'app qu'elle a créée. Parce qu'il y avait urgence, parce qu'elle ne pouvait pas rester les yeux fermés, elle décide d'agir. Avec son association Résonantes, elle sensibilise les publics, et plus particulièrement les 15-24 ans, sur les violences faites aux filles et aux femmes. Avec App-Elles, elle permet aux femmes, victimes de violence ou témoins d'alerter et de prendre contact rapidement avec leurs proches, les services d'urgence et tous ceux qui oeuvrent à leur défense. Après le prix "Tech for a better world" remporté au CES, le reste de l'aventure reste à écrire pour Diariata, qui préfère parler avec son coeur qu'avec des slides. Elle se livre à notre micro sur ce qui l'a forgée en tant que femme, en tant qu'entrepreneure, mais aussi en tant qu'artiste. Une femme pleine de talents derrière lesquel se cache une vie de travail. Dans des architectures distribuées, les applications s'appuient sur des messages brokers pour communiquer les unes avec les autres. Cela permet à l'émetteur d'un message et à son ou à ses consommateurs de ne pas communiquer directement, rendant par là même le système plus résilient aux pannes. Il existe quantité de messages brokers, dont deux sont tout aussi populaires que différents : RabbitMQ et Kafka. Afin de parcourir leurs différences et leurs cas d'usage, je reçois Pierre Larboulette. Pierre est Software Engineer chez iAdvize, et il est quotidiennement confronté à des applications utilisant soit Kafka, soit RabbitMQ. Au point même d'envisager peut-être Pulsar, pour tenter d'unifier les deux modèles.

Aujourd'hui, on retrace la formidable aventure humaine et entrepreneuriale d'iAdvize et son fondateur, Julien Hervouet. Convaincu que la relation client doit se ré-inventer, il se lance dans le développement d'outils de chat et messaging. A l'époque, on ne parle pas encore de commerce conversationnel, le client est alors avant tout une adresse IP : "la composante humaine était très éloignée du e-commerce". 50 000 euros de CA en première année, 500 k en deuxième année et l'équilibre atteint, l'entreprise trouve vite son marché, séduit la Fnac et d'autres grands acteurs puis les investisseurs. Ce sont 47 millions d'euros de fonds levés en une décennie pour la startup présente désormais dans plus de 100 pays. Ensemble, on s'interroge sur la capacité des robots et autres algorithmes à supplanter l'humain, ou pas.
